Stayed 3 times at The Aegli now whilst sailing out of Volos.
Lovely big light filled rooms with huge comfortable beds. Complimentary water and pop in the fridge is a nice touch on a hot day
Staff have always been polite and helpful.
Plenty of choice at breakfast time with fresh food.
Highly recommended

A ferry was canceled due to winds and we had to make it last minute reservation, the staff was amazing. Even gave us a little perk to help us through the day. Beautiful room. Beautiful location right on the port. Amazing breakfast with a lot of options. Love to come back to Volos and stay here again!

The property was very nice but our room was not ready until more than an hour after our check in time. Once we were in our room, we found that a concert with sound equipment and stage was being set up just outside our windows.
I feel that the hotel service toward Expedia users was sub-standard.

Nice 2-night stay

The room was large and clean. The Receptionists were very friendly. The hotel is exactly outside the port's parking that also contains a fast charger for EVs. Hotel is collaborating with the Parking at less thN half cost. There are also 3 free hotel parking spots on the road and another 3 at a low cost using the city's parking app. Hotel also offered 3 bottles of water, carnonated lemonade and 1 non-carbonated orange juice (refreshments) in the minibar for free.

I expected a basic, functional hotel by the port, but Aegli was a pleasant surprise. Excellent value for the rate. Hotel was squeaky clean, a/c was cold, and there were complimentary drinks in the mini fridge. Full buffet breakfast with proper coffee bar was included. I would definitely return.

We spent one night waiting for our ferry to Skiathos since it is conveniently placed close to the port.
The staff were very kind and welcoming. They also provided advice on where to park our vehicle.
The room was very clean and the hotel had plenty of available towels. The bed was soft and comfortable with soft pillows and a thin blanket. Our room was provided with air conditioning,slippers and a cable TV. The room also had WiFi, a hairdryer and a kettle with mugs.
For breakfast we had a selection of English and continental along with different types of coffee and pasties, we were spoiled for choice.
We highly recommend and will stay again.

So happy to have stayed at the historic Aeglis- Pallas Hotel and will be sure to book again when in Volos. Convenient location, central to the port, within walking distance to shopping, cafes, restaurants, the port, marina, and main square. Parking across the street was for a reasonable fee.The property was stylishly modern and inviting throughout with an overall aesthetically appealing design. The staff were friendly, professional and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of Greek, continental and American breakfast food items. The room was impeccably clean with cool, comfortable bed linens in the hot summer months. The high ceilings, thick walls and floor to ceiling blackout curtains ensured a quiet night’s rest even though the balcony faced the busy thoroughfare below. Complimentary beverages in the room fridge and quality bathroom toiletries made a favorable impression. I highly recommend the hotel and look forward to staying there again.

The hotel is located right in front of the port, where you can leave the car (hotel guests pay 10€ per day at the moment) and enjoy Volos on foot.

All the small details in the room made it perfect for a single traveler or a couple. The space was small, but absolutely enough for a city trip. The amenities were super cute and there was a variety of tea in the room.

The breakfast was very delicious. I am not sure if there were any or many vegan options, luckily that wasn't an issue for me.

The hotel was as efficient and comfortable as usual.
Curently the reception area is being refurbished and this led to scaffolding, a switch of hotel entrances and some drilling noise in the morning.
I understand that these effects will be short term and Hotel Aegli will continue to be the confortable and well located place it usually is

Excellent location for 1 night waiting to get a ferry. Good family room with 2 bedrooms. Very clean. Helpful staff. Only issue was relatively small but no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, no glasses, and the bathroom had nowhere to hang towels. No chair to sit down (I don't always want to sit/lie on the bed). So overall very good on style and cleanliness and location but the small details would have made it 5/5. But definitely a good place to stay and I would probably stay again.

Very friendly staff. Very clean rooms, however we paid for upgraded rooms that were suppose to be city view or water view, what we got was view to a busy noisy ugly buildings street! So basically this hotel has three sides of exterior view (water view, a single big building view or ugly noisy city buildings view). Rooms as well weren’t as in the pictures or the sizes. Very big disappointment to pay for upgraded rooms but not get them. As well, one room has a smell to it if the AC wasn’t turned on. Paid parking is available at the front port for 14euros a day. Nobody will help you with your luggage, you’re on your own for that part. Great part of the town! Everything is walkable.

Great service and well equipped rooms. Our room had a great balcony which added tremendous value to our stay. Hotel is conveniently located across the street from the port from where most boats to the islands leave. This is why I highly recommend it for people catching a boat to the Sporades.
Also available and recommended the breakfast buffet.

We stayed for four nights in total, there was a small issue with our room, but George on reception addressed & resolved the issue immediately. Exceptionally pleased with the staff, service & our room. Excellent location with easy access to the port busses & taxis. The town was a short walk & was vibrant & busy. All restaurants checked our vaccination certificates which we were really pleased about, will definitely stay at the Aegli again when we next visit Volos.

Renovated in 2015 or 2016 has superior qualities, best location at the Volos promenade, port for ferries to Skiathos/Skopelos, center of the City.
We manage to park on the side street once and nearby.
Excellent if not perfect 10 in cleanliness. Best hotel in the area !

Great location near the harbour. Got up at 6.30 and on the boat at 7.30.
Really nice newly refurbished rooms.
Down side was a room with basically any natural light as window looked over a shaft.
Down also is the use of disposal mini shampoos and soap which i doubt can and will be recycled.

The hotel is new and modern, and the staff is quite agreeable. They have a good location, good breakfast, decent size rooms. The only minus is that they have no shelves nor furniture in the bathrooms. One can't put their cosmetic sets nowhere, and every morning the maid is moving the toothbrushes, sets, etc., to be able to clean the sink.
This is not the best practice, especially during this period and the only thing they need to do is to add a counter or shelf next to the sink. In rest all good, even though the air condition had an issue and we were not able to set it up.

Disappointing and misleading listing: the room is DEF. NOT SOUNDPROOF (it was a very loud night) and nowhere near \"215 sq ft\" unless you're including the large terrace (which is not a space you'd likely want to hangout on because it's on a very loud street). The \"city view\" faces a condemned, closed building covered in graffiti. \"Bottled Water\" is one small bottle on the shelf (despite two people checking in). There is no coffee/tea offered in the room. And our shower had mold in the corners and tile grout. Not so deluxe.

Forget my Last Review. Mean & Small Minded

So I stayed and had a perfect visit but noted in my review (see above!) the staff were polite not friendly. Anyway. Then it all went wrong. My ferry didn’t sail because of a storm and I contacted the hotel to shift the booking. Never suspecting it would be a problem. But polite became “machine says no” passive aggressive behaviour. Just horrible. Plus the first room someone had been smoking in. The second had all sorts of yuk in the shower. And there was a cicada in the hallway. Not that that’s an entirely bad thing but the staff faces were so unpleasant. So there’s an insect in the hall who cares. Never again, no. Go somewhere more human with a smile

Worst Hotel! I booked a superior room and what I was given was in no way superior
No facilities
Photos nothing like website. Cheap toiletries in place of those shown
And I don't like an hotel that is making money from a pandemic Covid 19 is not an excuse to bring a so called breakfast that I would not feed my dog.
I walk around outside the hotel and loads of cafes busy serving food and good coffee
This hotel is using covid 19 as an excuse to save money and serve a bag of plastic.

The reception staff are also so miserable no hello nothing

I would never recommend anyone stay here!!

We stayed over night in Volos. I searched for a hotel and saw Aegli, it was exactly us. I bought a Deluxe room with sea view(city view) with breakfast. Not the cheapest room there but not the most expensive.
When we checked in we headed off to our room and noticed we were heading to the back of the building. We get to the room and had city views, main street actually, roof tops. This was a Monday afternoon, in a hotel that I’m pretty sure was not completely booked. We were disappointed so left immediately and headed back to reception. We were told there were absolutely no Deluxe rooms with a sea view available. The guy in reception was unsure what to do so he called a manager by phone. As my partner is Greek he understood the whole conversation. The guy on reception insisted I had only paid for a basic room a difference of 30 euro to what I did pay. After sometime I asked how much it would be to upgrade to a junior suite with definite sea view. The end result was I paid an extra 40 euro to upgrade, the whole process added about an hour of to and fro just to check in. I felt for the receptionist he had no idea what to do. Maybe more training needed.
The view was good the room big enough but the bathroom design way too small. I scraped my back on the door handle exiting after a shower.
Breakfast is NOT worth it. A paper bag with refrigerated rolls, cold meat, cheese, coffee in a paper cup. Breakfast shouldn’t be offered during Covid if this is the best they can do.

Modern, Clean, and Comfortable Stay

The room must have been recently renovated as it was very modern, clean, and comfortable. I was hoping for a room with a view of the harbor, but ended up with a room facing another building/hotel room. While this was disappointing, the breakfast was not. The food was pleasantly displayed providing many options to accommodate different diets, and made for a satisfying start to the day. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel when visiting Volos again.

Quite a small room but extremely clean and well designed, perfect with inset reading lights, a huge balcony, quite a soft but comfortable mattress. I was so impressed by how they use recyclable and eco friendly packaging for their toiletries etc. Good service from the staff.

Outstanding hotel. Outstanding staff. Outstanding value. Our second time there and I don’t plan on conducting any kind of search the next time we visit Volos. From the dining room that serves a modest but comprehensive complementary breakfast, to the lobby to the smartly appointed rooms. Every corner is spotless. The design was well thought out. Clean, clean, clean. The location across from where the boats leave for all the local islands and also next to all the seaside restaurants and cafés could simply not be more ideal. Although each and every member of the staff was helpful at some point or another, I wanted to single out Maria for her excellence in overall service and restaurant suggestions that were spot on!

According to the brochure I booked a room which was meant to be a sea view deluxe room instead I was given a room which had a tiny side sea view at the very best and when I refused to go to that room they offered me the room which was originally meant to be but they charged me an extra 50 Euros a day!!!
That is a rip off and I think that Hotels.com should not allow something like that to happen!
I think I should be getting a refund for the 50 Euros daily
