It’s in a good spot, the metro is right beside the hotel which is convenient and only a 15mins walk from all the tourists spots. Staff at the front were very nice and helpful.

Staff were amazing and very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation itself is fine perfect for putting your head down in but it’s outdated. The bathrooms are tiny and outdated. No seal on the shower door meaning the whole floor is covered in water. There is no air conditioning in the rooms which this would benefit, there are heaters instead of air conditioning.

The front desk staff at Crystal City were helpful, and my room was centrally located at a convenient place for hotel pickups. Breakfast was plentiful with a good variety. However, because I stayed there for two weeks, I could have used an armchair, microwave and tissue in the room. Also, towards the end of my stay, a large group of teenagers arrived at the hotel late at night and kept me up. The hotel staff tried to mitigate the circumstances, but the problem persisted for hours.

Average hotel good location

Rooms are rather small, shower extremely small also, one of the sheets had a burn hole in it. Breakfast was alright, few options but not that bad. Located next to meteo station bur can be rather noisey at night. AC in room did not work, it would get rather hot inside the room at night even with the low temperatures outside.

Quality economy hotel

Very central, right at the Miraculicks metro station, with good tavernas and coffee-shops just around the block. Clean, classic rooms with fridge & coffee-maker; from the balconies you might get to see the Arcropolis and a bit of the ocean. Basic breakfast included in the room rate on most booking pages. Recommendable for city explorations and business-trips.

I booked my room here 6 months in advance. When I arrived at the hotel to check-in they had given my room away to a walk-in couple who were staying 2 nights. I was only staying one. They transferred us to a different hotel which was of less quality and in a not so nice neighbourhood. We also had to wait a half hour for someone to.drive us there. Very dissapointed. Would not reccomend this hotel at all.

Adequate but would not stay again

Stayed here on our final night of vacation, not much left in Athens to book. Back from the islands, Hotel staff were not outgoing or too friendly. They were not rude, just bland. The hotel has carpet in the rooms and the shower glass was insufficient to stop water getting on the bathroom floor. Area is not as bad as others indicate (Athens is very urban ghetto but safe IMO). I would not stay here again.

Good clean budget hotel. Not in the best part of town but transportation was easy and front desk staff were great and had a taxi waiting for us at the airport after an 11 hour flight to a new country it’s nice to see someone waiting with you name on a sign.

Good hotel In convenient location

We stayed for 2 nights in Crystal city hotel. All went well.
The hotel is perfectly located, few meters away from the metro station.
The personal is very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are fine and clean. Bathroom a bit small but OK
Breakfast could be improved, but overall the hotel is a good deal.
I definitively recommend this hotel if you plan to have a short stay in hotel and want to be close to downtown.

Middle of the road hotel experience.

The hotel is clean and convenient--just around the corner from the Metro, an ATM, and a fantastic bakery/cafe/coffee shop. Our group had three rooms, one of which smelled odd and one of which had an air conditioning vent behind the soffit in the hall so that the actual sleeping area did not cool well. The staff was passably pleasant but exacting--we were not allowed to rest our feet on the footrests in the lobby or eat food from the bakery next door in the lounge area. They booked an excursion for us and prepared take-out breakfast for us since we left before the buffet opened; Unfortunately one person's container consisted of some lunch meat stained pink and a visibly rotten apple. The normal buffet was decent; Housekeeping was some of the best I've ever experienced.

Very tiny bath with no shower, have to hold the shower head whilst washing which was impracticle.

No entertainment at all, and food choice (more specifically dinner) was very minimal. Breakfast not a lot of choices

Comfortable and close to station

We stayed here for one night before travelling to Thessaloniki by train. The position was perfect for getting to the train station - a 10 minute walk. The room was basic but comfortable and we had a view across the rooftops to the hills. Breakfast room on the first floor was bright and airy and the buffet choices were good. Not particularly close to the tourist areas, but as long as you don't mind a 30 minute walk the location is fine. A good budget hotel!

Two nights in Cristal Hotel-Athens

Only stay in for two nights. First night was a nightmare, we couldn't sleep at all air conditioning blows onli every hot air and was infused with cigarette smoke! When tray to open the window, the noise and the pollution was terrible! In the morning manage to change the room, but it wasn't easy task!

Arrived very early morning after taking overnight ferry from Crete. Reception lady kindly arranged for us to have access to room even though check in time 2pm. Triple room a bit small but adequate as out & about visiting sights all day. Remarkably quiet despite busy street below so slept well. View of famous hill from balcony.

The room and location were nice. However, the service was poor. To start, I was lied to 3 times. I specifically booked a room with 1 double bed. (#1) During check-in, I asked if the room we were being given was indeed a double bed and was told yes. When we got upstairs, the room had 2 twin beds. (#2) I called down to the front desk and said the room did not have a double bed as we were told and had booked, and she told me they hotel was completely out of double bed rooms. I said that was unacceptable, after which she said that they did in fact have a double bed room available. (#3) She tried to dissuade me from switching rooms by telling me the new double-bed room was the smallest room in the hotel and would not compare to our current room. Upon arriving in the new room to inspect, it was the exact same layout and size as the room we started in, except that the new room's bathroom was larger. So her attempts to dissuade me from switching were lies as well. She later admitted that the rooms were very similar but that they try not to switch after housekeeping has gone home since there's no one left to inspect and touch-up the original room. Overall, I had to fight for what I'd booked and wade through a myriad of lies in order to get what we deserved. The hotel is a nice product, but the people and processes need work.

Convenient - not perfect - location

It's a simple hotel that offers all things needed for a pleasing stay (WiFi with reasonable speed, bathroom, small fridge and A/C). It's conveniently located at the entrance of Metaxourghio metro station and there is a taxi queue at the entrance. Within walking distance from Omonia Square and reasonable walking distance (30 mins) from the old market which leads straight to the Acropolis.

The hotel is good for a short stay. The neighbourhood where it is situated is not the best of the city but you have the hop on hop off bus and the metro round the corner.

A New Adventure

My family stayed here for two weeks and the hotel's employees were very welcoming and understanding when we missed our flight and had to stay in this hotel again. The rooms are average size but the balcony is small and narrow. The view on the terrace on the seventh floor is amazing you can see the Acropolis from there as well as enjoy a meal with the view. The only complaint I would say is the smoking in the lobby at certain hours, and by visitors who read the No smoking sign but ignore it all together. The AC works poorly but enough to make the room Cool. The food is the same every morning it might change a little but it will be the same. But for the price they offered the food was good.

Good hotel & service, great rooftop Acropolis view

This hotel is not particularly close to Acropolis, but it's in a location from which you can walk to Acropolis, Agora, and the Archeological Museum relatively easily. We rented two connecting rooms, but one of the rooms only has two pull out sofa beds, which don't feel particularly comfortable. However, hotel staff were very helpful. Rooms are clean. Breakfast was very good offering a variety of choices. Wifi was somehow not too stable during our stay. The crown jewel of the hotel is its roof top bar, which offers a good selection of food and drinks, and above all a great view of the Acropolis at night. The pictures I took of the Acropolis have gotten a lot of praises from friends. If you want to take a good picture there, be sure to bring a tripod and a good zoom lens.

The people staying at the hotel were unable to call anyone outside the hotel by using the prepaid calling cards. Also, the hotel staff made me to wait outside for more than an hour even though I arrived in time for the check-in. The reason was that the room was not ready.

The a hotel is very conveniently located. The Metro, restaurants, shops, travel agencies, etc. etc. are all very close.
The Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially nowadays when so many Greek people are very stressed and anxious. The breakfast and dinner are plentiful and delicious. The service in the Hotel Restaurant is super friendly.
I want to specifically mention Mr. Stratos (the front desk) who was incredibly professional, friendly, accommodating and helpful with practically any service or information we needed. He made us feel at home and welcomed only not in the Hotel but in Greece. I certainly feel that he needs to be rewarded for his super attitude and his wonderful communication skills. Thank you, Mr. Stratos!

Hotel location is fairly central and approximately 25 minutes’ walk from the Parliament building and the Acropolis (although Athens can be travelled quite efficiently using the Metro). Hotel is just around the corner from the Metaxourghio metro station (Metro Line 2) with the journey time being approximately 50 minutes from the airport. Note that if coming from the airport you will have to change at Syntagma Metro Station and then travel two stops to reach Metaxourghio. I found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful with the rooms being clean and of a good standard. The breakfast buffet was also very good with a wide selection of hot and cold items. Area around the hotel is not as unsafe as I was anticipating (based on some earlier reviews) however I did find an absence of eating places close to the hotel in the evening (save for a few snack bars), resulting in my either eating in the hotel restaurant or dining further afield.

In summary, the hotel was good value and I would stay there again.

I had to speak with Reception and asked to be moved and again not to a great room . So although i have no problem with this Hotel i would not book it through yourselves as your room allocation doent seen that good

Staying Crystal City Hotel

Crystal City Hotel is not bad at all, however I have only concern to this hotel with regards in their shower head. The shower attached to the bottom of the bathtub, is about the 5 inches to the tub liner from the shower they attached it. As American, we are not used to this kind of setting because when you taking shower, you just taking shower and stand on it.
The Crystal City Hotel do not have any amenities like alarm clock, face towels and not having a ironing machines and board.

It was just a little bit better, it was still hot, public area was better. The breakfast was good. The location is very good, just walk 1 minute to Metro and easy connect to airport. We stayed in this hotel twice because we enjoyed it so much. A good breakfast, friendly staff and 100 yards from the subway station. The rooms are clean, but nothing special. A nice and cheap place to stay for a night or two. Also, there is a luggage room which was handy to use if you didn't want to take all your bags when you went island hopping.

Close to Metro station so easy access from airport, 10 minutes walk from Athens railway station. Friendly English speaking staff. Excellent roof top garden with views out over the city, good for a relaxing beer at sunset and pleasantly breezy. Breakfast buffet initially appears a little spartan but there are goodies to be had, try the little warm cheese pasties with bacon and slices of fresh tomato.

Good value for money excellent staff very friendly

We stayed at the Crystal City Hotel in March for 3 nights and found it to be a very good 3 star hotel that was good value for money. We stayed on the 6th floor in room 605 which had a balcony with an excellent view of the Akropolis. The bedroom & en suite were clean and comfortable, there was a flat screen TV with some english speaking channels these were mainly american, but the BBC world news channel was available. The hotel staff were very helpful and could not do enough for us. The hotel lobby has a bar and premier league football could be watched in it on the greek sports chanels. The breakfast was buffet and there was a large selection of continental, cereal, bacon, egg, tea, coffee etc... The breakfast we had was good and was ok for what we wanted. Wi-Fi is available at the hotel, it is free access in the hotel lobby, but if you want to access the internet in the rooms you have to buy a Wi-Fi access card which works in a similar way to a phone card, the cost was €20 for 500 minutes access which could be used over a 28 day period. The internet conection was very good.

The hotel is located very close to the metro station and is only a 5 minute metro ride to the centre of Athens, Akropolis, Plaka, etc.... which we found very convenient.

Overall i would recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering stayin here, as you will get a good value for money clean and friendly hotel.

La stanza non è assolutamente per tre persone che si sono prenotate. Non ci si poteva muovere entravano solo i letti.

Hotel bem localizado, tem um roof top com linda vista para a Acrópole, ao lado do metrô, porém o quarto é pequeno e o café da manhã com poucas opções de frutas. Perfeito para uma noite..!!

Grei beliggenhet nærme Metroen, traffikkert gate utenfor men Athen er veldig traffikkert. Synd takterrassen ikke åpnet før vi reiste hjem.
