Our stay here was great! Short walk to many places including the metro, the downtown area, historical sites, nightlife. It’s really close to a little church and some great restaurants. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. It was super easy to arrange transportation to and from the airport. The room we got was big and even had a little kitchen area and a cool balcony.

A great stay!

We were only there for one night before catching the bus to Sparti but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommended a great restaurant for dinner in waking distance. We would definitely stay again. It is conveniently located to the K-tel central bus station to catch the bus to Sparti.

Good hotel, terrible location

No problem with the hotel itself or the staff. But the location is terrible. It is in an industrial area, far away from anything. You have to walk a considerable distance to the nearest metro station, in an industrial area that is mostly deserted after hours. It might be safe, but it did not feel so, and we did not have the courage to walk outside after dark. I cannot recommend this hotel to other families purely because of where it is located

Helpful staff. We stayed here one night. Directed us to the best Greek restaurant of our 10 day trip. Not close to the sites but apparently close to the metro. Rooms were large more like a small apartment with fridge microwave and dishes. Good breakfast

Overall, pretty decent. The room itself felt small, but it seemed clean and organized. It had a small sink area that acted as the \"kitchen\" with cups and plates. But they didn't have coffee or tea. They serve breakfast at 8:00 am, but we couldn't enjoy it because we had to leave at 6:00 am. The staff was nice enough to make coffee for us due to our early check-out. It had a nice balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view. The bathroom was okay.

Not very good experience

This is a newly renovated hotel. Initially I wanted to give a good review, but the design of shower area is open, so no matter how careful you take shower, lots of water will go out on the bathroom ground, makes the floor very wet! This makes the \"Cleanliness part\" not perfect. The WORST thing started with the housekeeping, they didn't give me a new soap for my 2nd day of stay. I returned to hotel late that night, so didn't want to bother the front desk, and I didn't take shower at night. In the next morning, I asked the front desk about the soap, he said \"we will bring it to you\". Then I waited for an hour, but still didn't bring soap to me. I went out during the day time and come back the hotel at night, but still NO SOAP!!!!! Then I went to ask the front desk for the soap, the reply from the big guy was \"It's not possible!\". I felt it was a insult because I need to beg for the soap and the front desk big guy didn't trust me!!! But this time they really brought me the soap, it's really a pain to beg for a soap. They are not professional.

Great hotel in a scruffy back street.

At helpful staff, they even brought my breakfast to my room on a tray. I ate it on the balcony in glorious sunshine. The room was big and everything was clean and in good working order.

VERY nice hotel in an okay neighborhood.

So the location is a little farther outside of the city center and as was described to us by the front desk worker popular for dance clubs. We were recommended a restaurant that was about a 10 minute walk away and the neighborhood seemed a little sketchy. HOWEVER, the hotel itself was fabulous. The flat we had was large - huge kitchen and giant terraces. Noises from outside were blocked out through white noise machines. VERY nice and helpful driver for the airport shuttle.

Nice hotel interior and big room space

We like our stay in Mc Queen, although its a bit of a walk to get to the metro station however its accessible and there are so many shops around even laundry service.
The staff were also nice and friendly to give suggestions for the attractions and how to get there by showing us in the map. You can also organise a transfer to and from airport to them if you need to with a fixed fee and a big van to fit all your luggages esp if you are travelling with family.
Overall I would recommend this hotel.

I made a terrible mistake of booking a hotel in the worst part of town, so I quickly booked a room for the rest of my stay at this hotel. The differences between the two hotels were night and day.

I felt safe in this area of town- I even walked down to one of the restaurants recommended to me from the friendly desk staff at night and felt no qualms in doing so.

The room was massive with a full kitchen and a mini bar with fun patios. 3 twin beds and one double. Pretty sure not all the rooms are this size - must've booked a suite as it was probably all they had left. But it was wonderful. And a FANTASTIC air con. I almost cried when I turned it on as it was so hot during my stay.

Everything was clean and beautiful. My shampoo and body wash were half empty, so that was a little odd. And the wifi would die every once in a while. There were marble stairs to get into the room (after you open the door, I mean), which was a little odd, and a bit unfun to carry my suitcase up and down. Plus the hallway light rarely worked.

The desk staff were so friendly. They always greeted me with a smile whenever I walked into the lobby. They helped me if I needed a taxi, and offered a lot of good advice about places to eat and locations to visit, and how to get there using the metro.

I may be looking at this from a very biased view, but this hotel seriously saved me and my vacation.

The Staff are attentive and helpful.
The hotel is located next to a subway station and bus stops and it is very comfortable.
The only negative point is in the bathroom. There is not a door in the box. Every time I showered and the bathroom was all wet.

Great place to stay

The hotel was a last minute booking when plans fell through and was worth much more than we paid. It was clean, the rooms were spacious and had a fridge and kitchenette. Plenty of room. The bathrooms were also nice. The wifi was strong and the staff was more than helpful. I will certainly stay here again if I come back to Athens!

The location of the hotel is terrible. You cannot walk anywhere and it is not recommended to leave at night. The positive sides include the comfortable facilities and the helpful staff. The VIP transportation was affordable and made life easier. If you want to walk in Athens and feel like you are in the middle of a lively capital city, this is not the place to stay. If you are ok to arrange transportation and just want the hotel to spend the night, this might work.

Big shout out to the staff, they are 5 stars all the way and made the stay amazing.

I highly recommend the pick up service, Nickolus was professional, friendly and fast. He showed us to the right atm to for cash, out of the airport and to the hotel in 30 minutes. 50 Euros for 2 people and totally worth it, especially if you never been to Athens.

Front desk ladies recommended amazing meals, directions, always smiling and physically at the desk 24 hours.

The hotel itseld is a jewel in an up and coming neighborhood. Very clean, modern and the linens are great. Super close to local amazing restaurants, shopping however a little far from the Acrópolis. Take a taxi for about 6 Euros each way.

The room we stayed in was smaller than expected however you have personal outdoor space, comfortable huge beds and anything you could need.

The bathroom wasn't well planned and gets water all over the floor. The WiFi connection was weak or not at all, we were on the 4th floor so probably far from the router.

We will absolutely stay on our next visit!!

Nice hotel with easy access to central Athens.

The McQueen is a modern, clean hotel run by friendly, efficient staff and a cat. The breakfast is good. Some commentators feel that the area is grungy. It is. But we liked that. It is a safe, working area with friendly local bars. Apart from them the Gazi restaurant district is only 10 minutes walk away (where the nearest Metro station is also located). It is possible to walk into central Athens, which is only about 2km away.

This small hotel was clean and comfortable. The location

was not in the best area for access to restaurants, shopping,

etc. It was a mostly industrial area. The staff was very

accommodating to any of our needs. There was a nice

outdoor area off of the main lobby.

We asked for a nonsmoking room and were pleased

that there were no smoke odors. They arranged

for a shuttle to the airport. We had an early flight

and had to leave at 3:30am because the airport was

far from the area.

Excellent spacious balconies, Parthenon view. Free wifi in downstairs lobby, paid wifi for each room. Narrow staircases, small elevator. The penthouse room itself has a staircase that is not easily navigable with luggage. Very helpful and accommodating staff, looking after any and all travel needs. Not close to Plaka or Parthenon. Surrounding neighbourhood is rundown, but people are friendly and helpful. Excellent bakery and taverna nearby.

Oasis in an up&coming neighborhood of Athens

The neighborhood of the hotel may not look fancy at first but it hosts a few cool spots just steps away while an endless list of the coolest restaurants, coffee shops, juice joints, etc. are just 4 blocks away. The hotel has a tiny but beautiful patio where the hotel guests and the neighborhood friends hang out for cappuccinos, frappes, and Greek coffees. Very recommendable for families (apartments for 3-5 people available in the hotel) and the cool crowd that wants to hang out with their equivalents in Athens.

The hotel was great. The room was awesome. Everything was very modern looking and very clean. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The price was very reasonable for the accommodations, but it was probably so cheap b/c of the location. A bit far from central Athens, in a somewhat shady area. There are two nearby (near-ish) train stations, a bit of a walk to get to either of them. At night time the neighborhood can seem a bit scary. But in the daytime after some rest, the neighborhood seemed actually pretty decent.

Worst mattress ever - more hostel than hotel

This place had the worst mattresses I have ever experienced; so many springs sticking out it felt like you were sleeping on a pile of small rocks. I actually had bruises. I tried to sleep on a towel or a small pillow but it didn't really work. My ribs start hurting just thinking about this place. I got no sleep - thought about sleeping on the floor. Any noise in the hallways reverberates through all the rooms on a number of floors. Didn't seem to have a lot of guests. Seems more like a hostel than a hotel.

As for the rest of the furniture, there are only small rickety wooden stools to sit on, probably wouldn't hold you if you weigh much over 100 pounds (45kg); plastic lamps that appeared to come from a dollar store, they fell apart if you touched them. No towels to wipe your hands in the kitchen. This place was furnished using the least amount of money possible. I laugh at some of the reviews that call it a boutique hotel; colored bedspreads do not make a place trendy.

The location is ok, looks more iffy than it is. Lots of dumpy businesses and apartments, with a few trendy (but empty) bars intermingled. I didn't feel unsafe walking around. Lots of stray dogs. One subway stop to the square downtown - easily a 10+ minute walk to the subway.

Free wi-fi in the lobby only - no bandwidth.

Breakfast included way too much bread - it consisted of a grilled cheese sandwich and two buns per person. Awful coffee.

Staff was really great though, very helpful.

What a dump

I went with my family of 4. We stayed in the family suite. We could not sleep in the room with the double because the heater for the room located outside was creating a large amount of carbon monoxide gas in the room both my wife and I were afraid for our lives. There were toe nails clippings left on the bathroom floor. The breakfast was a ripoff. Located in a very run down area. DO NOT STAY HERE

A great hotel for a family

I loved the McQueen Hotel! It was just what we needed for two adults and two children. We had the top floor \"suite\" with a complete kitchen and two balconies, one with a great view of the Acropolis. It is close to the Metro and to a wonderful restaurant recommended by the staff. The staff were friendly and very helpful. And we were able to arrange through the hotel transportation from the airport and to the port of Piraeus. They also helped up to book a sightseeing tour and the hydrofoil to the island of Hydra. I definitely recommend it. Very clean, very comfortable.

Not the most convenient or prettiest neighborhood, though we warmed up to it after walking around a bit. Hotel is about a 10-minute walk to the nearest metro, and there are shops and restaurants around the stop that are not immediately apparent upon arriving at the hotel. Hotel itself is very nice!!! Staff provided excellent info and successfully arranged for airport transfer in the middle of the night.

Charmerende hotel. Vi fik en opgradering og gik fra familie lejligheden til deres villa lejlighed.
Meget venlige ansatte.
God beliggenhed, 700 m fra Metro station som kører direkte til og fra lufthavnen.
Akropolis osv er i gå afstand.
Området omkring hotellet mangler lidt spisesteder/muligheder.

Un super hôtel au personnel accueillant, une chambre-appartement propre et confortable, un grand lit pour bien dormir après une journée de marche à Athènes.
Petit déjeuner copieux dans le jardin, un régal !

Nous sommes arrivés plus tard que les horaires de réception, je les ai prévenus en amont et quelqu'un nous attendait, un stress en moins !

Από λύση ανάγκης (δικαστικός αντιπρόσωπος στην δυτική Αθήνα) εξελίχθηκε σε άριστη επιλογή! Το δωμάτιο τεράστιο, όλα καινούρια, αστράφτουν από καθαριότητα. Σε απόσταση βαδίσματος από στον σταθμό Κεραμεικού, αλλά και από τον σταθμό Μεταξουργείου, αν σας αρέσει το περπάτημα. Η περιοχή (Βοτανικός) ήσυχη και ασφαλής, δεν ένοιωσα να απειλούμαι ούτε τα ξημερώματα. Το προσωπικό εξυπηρετικότατο, εύγε στην επιχείρηση, το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα!

Väldigt prisvärt och trevligt litet hotell. Ligger något avsides, men inte långt från kvarter med område med nattklubbar mm. Tunnelbana (och några minuters promenad) raka vägen från flygplatsen.
Trevlig personal som är bra på engelska.

Okay hotel, horrible environment

The walk from the nearest metro station was not a nice experience. A much longer walk than expected, especially when having heavy suitcases.
Upon arrival the staff was friendly and checking in was a quick process. Housekeeping, however, was disappointing: the room was not quite clean and apparently it was too much to make sure sheets and pillows were straightened, and shower gel was provided for.
On top of that, nobody seems to care (nor staff not guests) that it was not possible to sit in the outside area without having to deal with smokers.
Although the hotel itself is okay (6 out of 10), the environment was plain horrific. We had the impression that we ended up in the only nice building in an area of garages and yards full of car parts.

This is a nice small hotel a five minutes walk from the line 1 underground station Keramikos. Although the environment is more or less some sort of a business park, the hotel itself is very nice and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Whenever I go back to Athens that is my place!
