Our Cosy Double was as advertised -small but well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean. We had a lovely view of the extensive gardens. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly prepared and great service too. We also had a meal in the bar and that too was very good. The gardens are delightful and we walked around them many times and it was a real bonus to have several sightings of the deer.

A small negative was that we had not realised that there are some EV chargers tucked away at the very back of the car park, as there is no information on this on the website or booking form and it was not mentioned to us at any point. Only late in our stay did we become aware of this. Process for using them is also a bit clunky - you have to plug in and ask reception to activate and the fee is a bit steep £20 for 24hrs if you are just wanting to top up.

Nevertheless we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend the hotel.

Overall we had a lovely stay. Only complaint was that we were cold in the evenings…it was less than 10° outside and the bar had air-conditioning on! We got really cold. The restaurant was also cold, so we only ate there the first night.
The food was good, spoilt only by my poached eggs being cool the first day, and when I asked for them to be hot the second morning, they were only just warm! Otherwise a lovely breakfast.
Shower very good, and plenty of hot water for baths to warm us up!

Hotel is quite nice for an old place but could do with a bit of TLC and some modernisation. However, the room was clean and comfortable (apart from the pillows which were like flagstones 😖) and there’s plenty of parking space.
I got an attic style room and if I had a pound for every time I cracked my head on a ceiling beam, I’d have about £17 by now.
The WiFi is poor and slow in room 302 but gets a bit faster when you’re in the bar area 🤔.
The gym facilities were pretty good and the pool looked good too.
I work all over the country, usually staying in 2/3 different hotels per week, and this one achieved the UK record for the most expensive pint of soda & lime I ever encountered 😳 £6.30!!! What a rip off!!! I don’t mind paying that (or quite often more than that) for a pint of lager, but for soda water and a splash of lime cordial …. that takes the biscuit … so much so that they didn’t get another penny out of me during my stay. I’d normally stay in the hotel for dinner and a few evening drinks but any establishment will only rip me off once, so I went out to spend my (company expenses) money elsewhere instead 👍
Needless to say there will be no return visit from me.

A lovely place to stay and very attentive and interested staff. The room was very spacious and comfortable although we found it quite hot and stuffy, particularly at night.
The breakfasts were lovely and service was quick. The spa wasn’t as relaxing as hoped as you had to go back down a corridor if you wanted to visit the steam room, water fountain or sauna but still lovely to do.

Room was good. Aircon kept it at an acceptable temp (hotel was otherwise on the warm side). Sadly the food let it down. Both of the breakfasts I had were cold. The evening meal (function meal) was also cold. Staff were generally very good, but were let down by breakfast staff on the second day - had to ask twice for poached eggs. A lovely traditional hotel, let down by things which should be very easy to fix. I would return.

Great hotel,

I spent a couple of days with my friend, we found it good as it was very quiet time (just before Xmas) but it was very noisy in the early morning, I could imagine in busier times is worse.
Other than that we liked our break and the swimming pool and gym were a plus, we ate at the restaurant for lunch, it was good and dinner at the bar twice, we liked it all, good break!

Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the steam room and pool, although the massage was expensive and regular rather than deep tissue.
Room not as nice as pictured, smaller, darker and had single beds pushed together when we booked a double. Dinner at the bar was average (burger and fish & chips).

The receptionist was very welcoming and I was fortunate to be upgraded to a spacious room. The room and all the hotel was kept beautifully clean.
The gym was well equipped and the swimming pool although small was good.
I think my only reservation was the coffee served at breakfast which could have been better. The breakfast itself was good.

Breakfast was incredibly disappointing for the fresh cooked food. Eggs benedict, cold, no garnish, watery hollandaise and grey packet sliced ham. Continental buffet bar is good. We would stay again but not order breakfast.

Very clean room, great temperature already set, comfortable bed, plenty of room, nice touch with the teapot and cups and sauces for tea. Staff were very friendly, especially the lady serving breakfast, she had a huge smile on her face and really made me feel welcome. Delicious breakfast, gorgeous grounds around the hotel, ample parking space.

Lovely large room on the 2nd floor with a little balcony and huge bed. Extremely comfortable with good facilities and it was nice to have access to the spa. Breakfast was also very nice, with a very good selection and good quality. The hotel is only about a 15 minute walk from tow, so it's in an ideal location with free parking which is always a bonus. Overall a lovely venue for a short break.

Well appointed property with historic charm. Lots of parking. Staff were visible and professional. Large room with a great view over the hills. Plenty of space to get ready. Bathroom with bath and powerful shower. Appreciated having an iron in the room. Sustainability could be worked on, replacing water bottles. Breakfast had a good continental offer but service was a bit slow for hot items that didn't arrive too hot. Room for improvement. Didn't get to try the wellness facilities, though it seemed there was additional charges for some.

Beautiful property, staff helpful and attentive from check in to check out. All staff said hello when passing and asked if we needed help. Pool clean and comfortable. Lovely steam/sauna available. Enjoyed a great evening meal in the hotel, good menu choice, spacious dinning area with wonderful views as mainly glass windows to all aspects. Reasonable price for a hotel.Room was lovely, spacious. Coffee/tea facilities. Quiet room with a beautiful bathroom with complimentary shampoo/body wash and plenty of clean towels to hand. We booked massages and enjoyed both hot stone and aromatherapy full body massage. Ladies changing area was clean and great use of lockers. Loved the whole place, wished I had booked at least 2 night at the Spa hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel - was visiting for a wedding and had an incredibly comfortable stay. The spa was a lovely touch and we used it before heading home.

I'd say the food was hit or miss. I had some really lovely food and also some very disappointing food. The breakfast in particular was very disappointing.

Bathroom area was lacking the attention to detail regarding cleanliness that you would expect of a hotel of this calibre. The long dark hair o the bathroom floor was the trigger, then whilst sitting on the wc, the crustiness of grime around the base of the shower was a shock and whilst the chrome sink trap was nice the black grime or mould around it has obviously built up over time. I was quite surprised that this grime appears to have been allowed to become so established, it must have taken some time to do so, and alas there are still slight isolated spots that remind you that the floor grouting was once white!

Very disappointed with the state of the hotel and the attitude from the reception staff. £225 for a single night for this hotel is a rip off. We have been given an attic room which needs to be accessed via various staircases. When requested for a change of room, the reception staff had a blunt No with an excuse “Hotel if fully Booked”. I did not feel this was the case as the footfall was quiet on a busy hour such as dinner time/breakfast. Inside the room we felt claustrophobic and Bathroom was dirt too. The facilities were inadequate and not sure how it is a 4 start hotel. Their swimming pool, gym, steam room are open for public and smelt rotten. I have never felt so ripped off by a hotel ever. Will never visit them again.

This is the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Our room with spectacular, the staff were helpful and efficient. The bar food was excellent. The spa area was small the pool was lovely but the sauna in the ladies was too hot and there was bernwood where it was too hot. The service for breakfast was excellent but the food was poor the fruit was fizzy, the hash browns black pudding and bacon were all hard and overcooked. The pot of tea was. There was a festival on which detracted from the peace of the weekend but I should imagine if you went when there wasn't a music festival one it would be very tranquil it would be nice to be told about events such as that before you go because we were hoping for a tranquil weekend.

I left more tiered than i arived.

The room was a little frayed around the edges with scum on the glass door of the shower and paint chipping on the bath pannel. The fan in the bathroom sounded like it also wanted to take off. After having a shower i was horrified to find a long brown stain on my towel. As per house keeping rules i put the towel in the bath to request it be changed. After voulenteering at Sissinghurst house and gardens for the day i retuned to the room and the towel had not been replaced.... i had to go down to the front desk after a hard days gardening to request one.
Both nights also as the bedroom was situated above the kitchen i awoke at 3am as the aircon couldnt keep up with what i believe must be the begining of breakfast service prep. I spoke to the member of staff on the desk when checking out about the issues i had and she was very dismisive and said i should have come to the desk during my stay and asked for a fan... I did speak to someone and found this response a cop out.

This hotel is beautiful. We were upgraded to an Indulgent Room which was huge and very well appointed. Seating area as well as huge, comfortable bed. The bathroom was also huge with a free standing bath. We are in the bar on one night as we preferred that menu to Orangerie restaurant menu. George the barman was great and later in the evening gave us a tour and told us some of the history of the lovely building.
Breakfast was nice, good buffet selection but the full English was disappointing, streaky bacon is not usual, black pudding was hard and the hash brown was missing. The staff were lovely though.
Although the room was lovely the downside was the air-con was not at all effective and being in the 3rd floor during a hot spell it became uncomfortable.
In all we would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

The gardens and grounds were absolutely beautiful. The dining room was bright with surrounding windows. Very friendly staff. The location was perfect with a short walk to the Pantiles with quaint cafes and shops. We had a smaller room that looked over a smoke stack so would definitely upgrade next time.
