It was an ok place to stay for working away. Cheap with early breakfast timings, the breakfast buffet was really nice and the curry I had on an evening was great.

Several things really let things down, I had to stay in several rooms over the course of 6 nights as one had a broken shower tray, one had a childs toilet seat fitted to a regular toilet which meant I couldn't sit down on it and the other had no TV signal at all. They all had grubby shower cubicles with black mold all over the grout and shower heads and one released a drain smell when you used the shower. The carpark has several abandonded cars with flat tyres in it.

I was constantly asked to leave reviews at evening meal and breakfast which was very annoying as I was trying to eat, the staff would bring over the 'tap to review' slate and stand there waiting whilst I was just wanting to eat and mind my own business. I said I would do it when I checked out but was still asked at breakfast all the time.

The final night 2 members of staff started emptying wheelie bins into a larger metal bin at 02:45am and made a huge amount of noise. Smashing glass, banging and loud talking/laughing; completely unacceptable.

It wasn't bad for what I needed it for which is a place to sleep, wash and eat in the morning, definately a hotel suited to tradesmen working away.

Improvements for the future. The bathroom sink was extremely small in a design that allowed water onto the floor. The carpets were dirty. When first in the room clean towels weren't provided.

The staff were friendly and happy to assist. Breakfast is also provided. Would stay again.

I stayed here for my graduation and couldn’t believe how this hotel passed audits in the UK. Very deplorable and nasty condition. Musty and stinky bathroom. Looks like it wasn’t cleaned before they reserved for us. Room smells, wanky and broken tiles within the entire floors.

The room was average. 1st night was good. 2nd was not good due to the room next door. Walls are to thin and all noises can be heard. Customer was drunk and shouting n screaming. Loud music and affected our sleep through out the night. Mentioned on website while booking that bottle water and hair dryer is available but was not. Stayed for 3 night but no refresh of T cups and tea bags or general room service offered. Bathroom sink is tiny. Bathroom is a good size and good hot water available. Parking is available and safe.

The whole experience was terrible.
Staff were inept.
Breakfast limited and cold.
Staff unable to remember the simplest of instructions.
The guest adjacent made so much noise, that I couldn't sleep during the hotel's explicit \"quiet time\" 10pn - 2am.
Had to call the hotel staff who couldn't stop the television until 6am!
Sheets made you itch, and the rooms unclean. Evidence: the back of the tv was caked with dust. Poor interaction with staff. When i asked for money back, they informed me I had to claim from expedia. Even when the finally agreed to order a taxi (they agreed to pay), when the taxi arrived, the receptionist reneged on her offer, stating that the management wouldn't pay, and she couldn't pay, because the management wouldn't reimburse her. This was \"the last straw\".
No sleep, cold breakfast, duplicitous staff, SMH.
how do I get my money back!!
My advice to anyone who is about to book....RUN!!!

Rather run down, absolute minimum and full of almost aggressive posters telling you how to behave. Sadly these didn't work, as the noisy guests in the room next to ours got picked up by the police in the middle of the night. The passcode to our room also expired after one day, and had to be reset. The breakfast buffet was lukewarm. But the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Hotel was a bit doggy. When you enter there is no reception area but rather a security room. Staff was kind and helpful but the whole experience was bad. The rooms are cold and old. You can hear everyone in the halls or even noises coming from other rooms. The rooms were not clean, it seems that no one has taken care of the shower and there were even marks on the toilet seat. Even though the staff changed our rooms because some of them had awful colours and were in poor conditions, the night was ruined because the bed felt dirty and noises coming from everywhere.

As always, this hotel is a little dated, and the bathroom sinks are too small to be practical. It needs some TLC. There was a leak from the upstairs room on the day of leaving, but, saying that, everyone can have a bad day. I will continue to stay here; it's the first time I have had any issues, and the staff are always friendly, attentive and always willing to help.

Shockingly cold, the room was freezing, I've never been so consistently cold in my life, I then tried to get a shower to warm up, the options were cold water or colder water, the shower was mouldy. I was not sent the access codes to enter the building prior to my arrival. I called OVO for assistance and it went through to a generic telephone service provider, who at the end of the call said he will send the details to the team to send me codes. At this point I thought I need to get another room arranged. Hotels.com only had a virtual assistant who was useless, just kept resending the booking confirmation.

It’s the next day and I STILL HAVEN’T RECIEVED ACCESS CODES.
The level of care provided by Hotels.com and OVO were both useless at night.

Avoid unless you are desperate for a cheap room

Completed all pre-check in forms which were requested in order to get the access code, but the codes didn't populate. No number to call the hotel provided on hotels.com.
When I got to the hotel I had to wait around for some guy to go get the codes and write it on a scrap piece of paper. Room was FREEZING as the radiator was not sufficient to heat the room. Mould EVERYWHERE in the bathroom - even the power sockets were loose and nearly falling out the wall - a real slum landlord property.

Overnight stay results in threatening Court case

Where to begin…

I booked one night in this hotel, was close to where I needed to be for work. Parked my car at 10pm, didn’t meet any staff as received check in details via text. Code entry to room. Basic but clean room. Left at 8am.

Few months afterwards I receive a letter from a debt collection agency regarding an unpaid parking ticket from parking eye. I contacted the hotel, they informed me ‘it was nothing to do with them’ contact Parking Eye. In turns out parking eye manage the car park at the hotel. So I’ve received a 115 pound parking ticket for leaving my hire car in the hotel car park. Which is advertised as free parking. The hotel don’t want to know, have been extremely unhelpful and not apologetic. Now I either go down the legal route or pay 115 quid. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on the lack of communication and general lack of interest in my predicament. The desk was unmanned on check in and no barrier at parking. Resulting in me receiving stressful communication threatening legal action if charges are not paid!!

This was renovated around 5 years ago and looks to have been left to deteriorate, such that the original carpets are worn / dirty in hallways, room I stayed in; there was mould in shower joins; the fitted coffee shelves on the fitted headboard were literally hanging off, both sides; the mattress was very old, tired, with springs sticking through, the cushioning long since melted away; the shower soap dispensers were broken and empty. The shower sliding door hinges at the bottom were detached and not affixed, such that the door was loose. There was only sound, without picture on the room TV. Staff said they would come and see; but did not. The windows were dirty, still with remnants of Santa stickers, half peeled off from when I presume a family stayed there long term.

The only positive was that there was a small bourbon biscuit for one, albeit it was a triple room.

Turning to breakfast, it was so, so sad and depressing. It comprised rice crispies in 2 out of 3 dispensers and a museli in the 3rd. They all looked so tired and stale. There was beans, boiled eggs, tomatoes and sausages. There were nil fruit. Nil pastries. The staff did toast and coffee to order. That's it.

The difficulty is that Middlesbrough has only 4 national chains, which are typically sold out with workers / contractors. Therefore this sort of \"hotel\" is the next available level. The price is relatively cheap.

A member of staff helpfully ordered a taxi for me and provided hot coffee / toast - thank you.

If you are expecting a 5-star hotel experience then this may not be the property for you. But if you would like a simple experience with all the essentials as well as WiFi, breakfast, parking, and great value, then look no further.

My room in particular was perfectly adequate though a few of the details had been overlooked - shower gel dispenser in the shower was empty, bathroom missing the hand towel (just the two big ones for us), and there was a [clean] empty takeout container in the cupboard that had been missed. But the room was tidy and the bedding and bathroom were clean, which is what matters. Would stay again. :)

Upon arriving the building is very nice and is close to the park, takeaway shops and corner shop.
Staff were lovely, kind and accommodating.
Showed us to our room and gave us all info we needed.
However, the next morning at 8am a staff member opened our hotel room door looked inside and closed the door. Me and my partner were very confused and felt very unsafe.
Another issue that came up was from one of the staff members telling us that breakfast ended at 10:30am when it actually ended at 9:30am. However, the staff in the dining and kitchen area were lovely and still provided us with whatever food and drink we wanted.
When me and my partner checked out of our room we spoke to one of the workers at the front of the hotel about the issue with safety and someone entering our bedroom at 8am that morning. The employee of the hotel stated that had never happened before and definitely didn’t happen. This made me upset as I was bringing up this issue due to safety and possible ill intentions for someone coming into our bedroom unannounced.
The employee did not like that I had pointed this out and was not happy I reinstated that I would not have been complaining about the issue if it didn’t happen. I then advised they reviewed their cctv in their own time to identify this individual and why they had came into our room.
Apart from this the stay was nice, however would not return due to safety concerns.

OYO property and had a virtual checkin. I was provided a room with a digital password, went upstairs and there was a person in the room. Came down and was assigned a diff room.
Very very small room and no desk. It was a room for 2 people and there was ONLY 1 towel. Called and asked for an extra towel and was told they do not have any towels, they are out of towels. I paid about 100 pounds for a night.
Horrible breakfast and I would not call it a breakfast at all. My honest feedback, don’t stay here at at all and I will never stay here again.

But was surprised, having read reviews, that apparently there is no check in at the hotel. I was sent codes for front door and for my room. All rather AirBnB and not what I had expected.

I think too that had I read the reviews more carefully before booking I would not have booked in the first place.

Upon arrival checkin was excellent, stress free & welcoming. Shown to room with everything shown and or explained simplistically.
The room was clean, the bathroom bedding immaculate, bed v comfortable. Good storage, good coffee tea water biscuits to greet you and last. I can say I was impressed by this. Bathroom,toilet shower, towels including wash products great.
Very friendly establishment, polite friendly, curious staff.
I witnessed staff keeping on top of things, eg glass windows etc. that didn't put me off, but reinforced the establishments ethic.
Breakfast - limited to degree, limited (maybe that due to staff catching up in interim) however the service, if asked no problem friendly courteous. Service. Food on whole ok. Youghut great as was coffee etc
