No pool. No laundry. No amenities. A/C in bedroom only. No fan to move air to living area. Kitchen equipped. But nothing there. Seasoning, oil, etc.Nothing. Washer/dryer no soap. Bugs everywhere. Suffered injury and had to leave early. No refunds no consideration. Overall.. avoid here.

Le Fare 25 que nous occupions était propre, spacieux et disposait de tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Le Sunset Beach est idéal pour les baignades sur le sable blanc. Les motu situés en face sont tellement majestueux. Le staff est au top. Le soleil était même au rendez-vous malgré la saison des pluies que nous traversons en décembre/ janvier.
Merci pour ce beau séjour.

I am guessing its common, local style accommodation, but this place needs screens on the windows and doors. Holy Bugs!! Mozzies, flies, geckos, ants..EVERYWHERE!

Its too hot with the doors and windows closed, but bugs everywhere with everything open. Need to add screens.

Other than that....Place Was Great!!

Beach house was clean. Location couldn’t be better. Ocean front. It’s a little beat up but clean. There are some small bugs but to be expected with an open air house. We loved the big patio doors that opened up the entire house. AC in the bed room was great. The bed on the main floor mattress was awful though. We had to find a small section where the springs weren’t digging in to us. The only recommendation I have for the place is to get a better bed. The kitchen was minimally stocked but had enough to cook meals with.

Very nice clean and cozy property with small kitchen that we didn't use and washer/dryer. I would carry detergent sheets or tablets if you plan to do laundry. There Sunset views were incredible. The shower left there while bathroom wet as it is not well designed but it meet our needs and didn't take away from this being a great stay.

We stayed at a Garden Deluxe Bungalow which had view of other bungalows. Bungalow is basic and nothing fancy but was sufficient for two people. It has ample supplies of TP and we purchased Nepresso pods at front desk at 100 XFP each. Room was clean but the flooring needed some upkeep. It also has a small kitchen, washer and dryer. Location was close to various restaurants nearby. I would recommend Residence Moorea Sunset Beach based on it provided basic necessities with decent price point.

Wonderful place!

We had a very pleasant stay at Sunset Beach Residence in Moorea. The location is excellent — very convenient and right next to a beautiful lagoon. The property is peaceful and well-maintained, and we especially enjoyed the tennis court and the large outdoor terrace.

Our unit was well equipped with a washing machine, a dryer, and a fully functional kitchen, which made our stay very comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The only small downside is that coffee is not provided and needs to be purchased separately. Overall, it was a great stay and we would happily return in the future.

Our bungalow was spotless. The staff were helpful. The location was good. Our main complaint is that it is advertised as on the beach with beach views. Our bungalow was next to the road and most in the complex were a 2-4 min walk from the beach. We felt it was misleading. If this isn’t important to you, you will love it here.

I love how we were able to walk to the beach, have breakfast there and book any aquatic or ATV activities. Walking to restaurants at night was a little different because it was dark, but we had two phones to iluminate road. I would stay here again.

We rented beach bungalow, one of the most expensive bungalows as it is directly on the beach. The unit itself was great however there were no food containers for left overs, which was surprising considering this is a fully contained unit.
The other disappointment was the view, as there was a line of shrubs blocking the ocean view, unless you were standing up.

Bungalow was clean and had all we needed. Big plus for washer and dryer! Cons:AC only in main bedroom, fans in upper level not effective. Make sure to get there exactly as communicated with reception otherwise they will call you ( we were there 420 pm instead of 4 pm and they called and emailed us plus somehow passive aggressive rushed welcome on arrival. Grounds not well maintained. Not great beach area.

This is a great airbnb-like place. Easy check in and check out. Great location with a small beach right on the property. You can rent a small boat and, i think, a kayak and explore. Very close to a couple of small islands you can reach on your own, as well as to a shark / stingray hangout area. Rooms are perfectly sufficient with bedroom, living room, kitchen. Easy and abundant parking. I think there are a couple of things that will make it 5 stars. First, bed is pretty small and not very comfortable. Better mattress and pillows maybe? Also, no housekeeping for stays under 5 nights is fine, but would be nice to have some basics in the kitchen, like papertowels, and laundry pods in the laundry room. Also, towel refresh every couple of days would be nice. I know those basics can be purchased at the front desk amd you can change towels for a fee, but that feels a little off, like a budget airline. Spoils overall impression. Just raise room rates by a few dollars and make it a totally hassle free vacation.

Excellent location with rooms a very short walk to the beach. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking in the room easy, and in room laundry was very convenient. There is no housekeeping during the stay which can be tough on a longer stay, particularly the beach towels. Room was very basic but clean and comfortable enough.

Place was great with our 2 kids. Parking right in front of bungalow. Beautiful beach access. Only downside was they do not change out shower towels they expect you to wash them and re-use. Also u need to request beach towels and they expect them back up at check out instead of in room. No cups for coffee or pods needed tp buy basics.. Overall mice place close to eberything.

We loved the location, across the lagoon from Coco Beach and restaurant on the Motu, best snorkeling on the island right adjacent to it. The walkabout reef was awesome in front of Sunset Beach, tons of wildlife.
One suggestion I would give is if you rent here, purchase some beach chairs as there are none on the beach. Would stay here again any time!!!

Moorea sunset beach exceeded our expectations! It was such a beautiful spot to stay, the accommodations were clean, comfortable and right on the beach. The lagoons were beautiful and a wonderful spot for swimming, snorkelling and watching sunsets. The kayak rentals were right beside on the beach and it was a short trip to the small islands nearby. The pier was also fun to walk along and see the tropical fish swimming below. Overall, the best spot to stay for beach access, swimming, snorkeling and beauty.

I really enjoyed my stay! The front desk employees were very friendly and helpful. The only area of improvement could be in the cleaning. Cleaners only come once per week, and the unit was not as clean as I would’ve hoped for. Regardless, I would definitely recommend staying here!

It was very easy to check in and use the facilities: Tennis, snorkling attire, beach towels. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The direction to the beach is not clear and can take a moment to figure it out. Proximity to the beach is a great advantage. Swimming there is great with a lot of fish. This place was ok, but not fantastic for the cost. The beach out in front (a short walk, there is no view of the water from the room) was small and there were no options for chairs. We ended up driving to a nicer beach each day of our trip. The room was modern, and clean.

We loved the apartment feel to the rooms, would be great for families, especially those who want to eat in.
The staff were very friendly and we loved the private beach.
There weren’t a great deal of restaurants available within close walking distance, it’s a shame the beach bar didn’t open for dinner.
There are shutters for the rooms with warnings to close them at night, which obviously make you feel a bit nervous when it comes to safety, however we had no issues at all.
Would definitely recommend, if looking for a luxurious but less expensive stay on Moorea.

Seems like a small community, with different owners for different buildings. We got a little bungalow all to ourselves for a great price. It had two levels, with bedroom loft upstairs, and bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and patio on bottom floor. All in great condition and clean. Short walk through community to the beach, which is one if the best that area. The best snorkeling on island (where most tours go) is within sight of that beach, and you can also just wade out into the coral and see all kinds of fish. Two restaurants at the property next door are also fantastic, especially the one by the water (must go for lunch!). We would absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend for families - it feels almost like a little summer camp.

Loved our stay here and will definitely be back. The room was clean, light and airy, the grounds are well kept. The beach was less than a minute walk from our room. The snorkelling was great. We saw loads of beautiful fish, stingrays and further out some reef sharks. We hired a kayak on our last day and paddled out a little further than we had snorkelled and spotted a couple of turtles. Definitely a highlight seeing them in the wild. We visited a different restaurant within walking distance each of the 3 nights we stayed and they were all pretty good. Grocery stores 12-15mins walk each side are well stocked.

Very nice location across from coco beach and the tourist attraction black tip shark sandbar. White beach with shade trees. Clean rooms but tmno relief from the heat we had the air on the whole time only the bedroom where the air conditioner was located got a little bit cool. The living room where the fold out bed was located had no air. I would suggest at least a fan that might help. We tried cooking there but the 1 day we cooked made sleeping unbearable because it increased the heat of the room.....but other than that it was great

Stay at Hilton i was robbed of 2800 in cash in a backpack I left unattended in my locked room. We went to dinner for one hour in the morning I realized the money missing I went to check car when I seen police and realized 4 other rooms were robbed only of cash and no damage to the hotels doors amazing no one from hotel said a word other then there not responsible

This place is the perfect location to enjoy one of the most beautiful beach of Moorea. Walking distance from the apartment (there's bungalows too), it's a little resort, feeling almost like home. There's a kitchen so you can make your own coffee and meals. The only improvement point will be to offer a few dishwasher pads (1 or 2) and coffee pods (2 or 3) so you don't have to go to the office to buy them. Other than I highly recommend this place.

This was my daughter and I’s first time staying on the island of Moorea and I think we couldn’t have picked a better place. We were provided with Apartment no.50 which was the closest apartment to the beach I believe.
It was so convenient to step out our door, down a flight of stairs and approx 40 steps until we reached the beautiful beach. The apartment was clean and well appointed with all that was needed to cook meals if needed which we only used to make tea/coffees and spaghetti bolognese on one of the nights we were there. Otherwise we dined out at restaurants close by for the 4 nights we were there. The kayak/boat hire / scuba hire were also right there on the beach! We went snorkelling every day (with our own snorkel gear) and the waters immediately there were teeming with colourful fish in all the coral gardens present. I would choose this place to stay again on our next trip to Moorea without hesitation. I think this is ideal for families with young children who a beach with shallow safe waters if that is an important consideration.

Perfect place to stay!

We are so glad we chose to stay at the Residence Moorea Sunset Beach. The spacious garden suite we stayed in was well equipped for our 3 nights. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals. We found that the air conditioner in the bedroom was enough to cool the entire unit if the windows were closed. It's in a great location near shopping and on a beautiful beach near great snorkeling and the motus and shark and stingray area. We loved having our own outside shower to rinse off after the beach, and beach towels are provided. The loungers and dining table on our private patio were wonderful. It was also perfect having an in-unit washer and dryer. There is lots of parking and it's easy to come and go while having good security. The front office staff is helpful and kind. We'll definitely be back!

I had a lovely stay at this apart-hotel. The beach is literally 2 minutes away.

The rooms are spotless and clean. AC and washer dryer was a huge plus. The staff is helpful in giving all the information needed.

The kitchen is fully equipped, do bring basic seasoning like salt/pepper etc.

There are 3 grocery stores and quite a few restaurants in about 10-15 minutes walking distance. I didn’t rent a car, so the proximity to the stores and restaurants were super helpful.

Took the bus from ferry to the hotel and got a taxi with Moorea explorer back to ferry.

Great location right by the beach, coral gardens, turtles/ rays/ sharks. Convenient store nearby. Clean and everything you need in apartment. We were 4 and stayed in a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom suite with kitchen, washer/dryer and large terrace. We spent 6 days and rented a car so we were able to move around as we pleased. We snorkeled on beach right by property, watched sunset nightly from pontoon, rented a boat twice to do our own tour again right on property beach (no need for license). Great access to coco beach restaurant and Tiki Village.

I love how this property was right on the beach. Overall it was good and looked very family-friendly. A solid budget option on Moorea, but a few minor complaints:
-We didn't realize it was a 40-minute drive from the ferry terminal!
-One of the AC units in our room was broken and leaking on floor the first night
-I found a live cockroach in the bathmat

My wife and I arrived about an hour before check-in so we enjoyed a nice lunch nearby. Check-in went smoothly and we found a spacious updated comfortable apartment with a nice private deck overlooking the central garden area. The wonderful, shallow-water beach was only a few steps away. We're glad we had a rental car as most things: dining, groceries, shopping and the like were nearby but probably beyond walking distance. Be aware that coffee, paper towels, laundry detergent are not provided, but not a big deal for us. We received more than a good deal for the price we paid. We look forward to staying there again!

The property is beachfront and the beach is sandy with some coral but the water is very shallow and there is some boat traffic. Sunset Beach really delivered on a beautiful, laid back island experience. It is on a beautiful beach that is a short walk from the rooms. Several restaurants and a store are a short walk away. The rooms are nice and clean. the local people are super friendly. The dive shop is 50 feet away on the beach. The sunsets are gorgeous. Rent a scooter or a car and explore Moorea for a day or two. Great place!

Great self catering accommodation. Well stocked kitchen and large fridge. Sofa bed and Queen bed. We had 3 nights in March so it rained a lot! Lovely beach and patio area. Mixed ownership of properties on site but it was quiet and secure

Modern Bungalow on Beach

Bungalow right on the Beach, perfect for the family. Modern kitchen and appliances. Had a minor issue that was fixed immediately. Grocery store is a 5 minute walk. Best snorkeling spot on the island and close to Motu’s. Bilingual and helpful staff. Recommend!

Highly recommended if you have a car.

There are many units behind the office where you check in. You’ll drive on gravels to your room so the car is necessary. Room was very clean. There was a washer and dryer. Kitchen was equipped with everything you need for vacation. You’ll have to buy coffee pods (tiny European type) and laundry detergent at the office. A/C was in bedroom and the kitchen/living room gets cool air from there so it was a little warmer. Beautiful beach is just a minute walk away. I don’t remember if they said they would provide beach towels. There wasn’t any in the room. Shower room needed a trash can. No screen door to the nice large balcony. Don’t forget to take mosquito repellent and itch cream. I visited in February. It was too hot to walk anywhere so I’m glad I found a car after contacting the cab company/ car rental agent which hotel email mentioned before our arrival.

What a wonderful place for family vacations. Great property for families with kids- having a kitchen was very helpful. The beach is very nice- shallow for a while yet some corals with fish around.
Do not plan on staying in the top floor of the garden bungalow- no air conditioning on the second floor and too hot even with the fan- air conditioning only in the main bedroom . The front desk is super responsive and friendly. Amazing snorkeling with sharks and rays just 15 minutes by kayak or very quick by boat- rental facilities are right outside the property on the beach - very reasonable prices- $10 for 1 hour for 2-persons kayak. $60 for an hour for a boat with subsequent $20 per hour. Highly recommend

Great location and beach with corals, snorkeling, swimming, boating activities. Short walk to beach from bungalow. Nearby good shopping for food, essentials, and good choice of restaurants.

Poor Accommodations that are not as advertised:
- Bungalows do not have AC. Only one room in the whole bungalow has AC. The upper area, meant for sleeping has no AC and is HOT. The main living area, lacks AC. Unless you are only using the bedroom, expect to be hot.

- No House Keeping: No daily house keeping service, unlike what is summarized on Expedia. You get 1 hand towel for 4 people, 4 bath towels for 5 days. You can wash and dry them yourself in the provided washer dryer in the room (which work well, but are noisy). You will have the pleasure to sweep your room with the provided broom and dump your own trash every day

- Noise: Because the bungalows are meant to be cooled by natural air, the whole roof line is open for air circulation, along with very large slatted vents. These bring in all noise from the outside. The only quiet room is the one with the AC, which is about 1/3 of the bungalow.

- You will wake up with roosters at 5 AM, and car noise (bungalow was 30M from the road and you could hear every moped, car and truck passing by). Again, the Bungalows have no sound isolation contrary to what is stated.

And, lastly: lizards love the homes...

If you are OK with doing your own work and don't mind the heat, and noise, location is excellent.
