The views were awesome, we had bungalow 1 right by the water. The cleaning staff was great !
I would stay here again. It had a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, so we were able to have breakfast and lunch at our room.
Book the restaurants nearby ahead of time, it is not always possible to get reservations or get into some places.

I highly recommend this hotel. All of the staff were fantastic and are just wonderful. The cleaning lady’s husband is a fisherman. We bought a big tuna fish from him. They helped us prepare the tuna and cook it together. We shared the tuna with other hotel visitors. It was the best tuna :). There were also kayaks on-site that we can use. The room was super clean and organized. We will come back again. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

We had a lagoon view bungalow. Extremely well situated, close to the beach. The compound gives the feel of a peaceful village with bungalows scattered on the lawn. We cannot review the restaurant, because there were many other dining opportunities in the vicinity that we tried out.

Perfect lagoon front hut with epic view and front row to the most amazing sunset. Clean. Restaurant on property and Italian next door. Next to the huge public park. Walking distance to groceries and shops. Friendly and helpful staff. I can't wait to return!

The hibiscus hotel is amazing! Right by the ocean and the restaurant is great! The staff is really friendly! We spent one night in the cabin and we had made 2
Different reservation due to a change of plan so they moved all our luggage while we went whale watching which was great! We are now in the Qc bedroom and we love it!

Somehow we got cabin #1 right next to the water. Simple but comfortable cabin with a small kitchen (sink & fridge). Great cross breeze when opening the front & back doors. There were some small ants that would swarm the kitchen if food was left out. There's a nice restaurant on site and the pizzeria next door is fantastic, it's a must go!

On arrival at check in we were told breakfast was included. Then at check out we were told we had to pay, not the best service there. Plus breakfast is very basic. The same fruit salad is wheeled out each day that swims in juice. Then it's croissant, pan au chocolate. Not sure what was fly or chocolate.

The room itself was nice but no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan. At this time of year that's not a problem but in the hotter humid months it might be.

Plenty of local restaurants nearby serve up some excellent local cuisine.

Its basic but cheap so if you are seeking a budget friendly hotel in paradise then this is your place.

Lovely room with kitchenette amenities. The swimming pool was sparkling clean and grounds were beautifully maintained. Warm reception. No t.v. in our room but there was a safe which we appreciated. Small parking lot which filled up early in the afternoon.

Nobody helped us with our luggage, we had to drag it through grass field. Only few parkig spaces. Very small kitchen with no kitchen sink. Roosters will wake you up at 4 am in the morning. No AC only fan.

The restaurant on-site was excellent for both its breakfast buffet and dinners. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is located right on the edge of a public beach, and you can enjoy numerous recreation opportunities (swimming, snorkeling, paddling, whale watching excursions, etc.). It’s a 5-minutes walk to a small shopping center (very charming) with a small grocery store. But bring ear plugs because the island’s rooster population start crowing around 3:30am!

We stayed in the hotel (not the bungalow) and it was comfortable and clean. The airconditioner provided relief after being in the sun. the hotel has a restaurant. Staff was friendly and responsive. The beach was accessible. Parking was on-site though very limited. The one thing we didn't like was the shower. there was no curtain or shower door hence it got messy after a shower. The floor towels were not enough.

Due to cancellations of return flights, we moved from a 4-star hotel on Moorea to the Hotel Hibiscus for 3 nights. The Hibiscus was a pleasant surprise. It had a better location on the island than the 4-star hotel, our bungalow was terrific, and the service was much, much better than at the 4-star hotel. Simply put, the staff of the Hibiscus made us feel like we were welcome guests - something we definitely did not get at the pricier hotel.

Perfect reset button!

Super peaceful and relaxing place! The weekend saw the only hustle with travelers from Tahiti. The only noise was a rooster who thought we needed up at 5am. Great scuba diving, kayaking, and bicycling! We will stay there again!

Great staff. Room and outside area needs updating. Close to couple snack restaurants That is in walking distance. Wished they would of had lounge chairs And/or table and chairs next to ocean. No where to sit unless sitting on ground or in the restaurant. Public beach next door. Smaller pool is in great shape with loungers. Would recommend having a car if staying here.

The staff here, Jasmine and Michael, were very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were very good and the location right on water was great. The snorkeling was good even though the reef is sick as is in many places. We stayed in #27 which was nice as the glass sliders faced the park and breezes were good. The bungalows are charming and pleasant and having a kitchenette was very nice. The grounds are well kept and there are flowers in the room. Snorkel gear and towels for beach are free. Overall, we were happy with Hibiscus and would stay here again. Great place for families.

Loved this place!

Opted to stay in the building, where the rooms have air-conditioning rather than in a bungalow, which I believe do not have the option. This place is quaint and came across as super laid back and relaxing. They have a pool and very well kept grounds. The have their own little beach which was wonderful. The onsite restaurant, Le Sunset was wonderful. Best place to catch the sunset.

I liked the sunset view and the garden is well maintained. Staff is helpful and if you have a late flight they have an area for shower and freshen up.
I didn’t like the lizzards being in my bungalow, I could not sleep because of that.

We really enjoyed Hotel HIbiscus and would recommend to friends and family. It is simple and has a great restaurant and beach located. We will happily return there. Our 9 year old was happy in the pool we could walk along the beach and a small village is close by if you want supplies etc. Staff were helpful just a great simple little place

Love this low key well kept hotel

This place was perfect for us - our little thatched hut (the thatch is actually plastic so perfectly sealed and clean and sealed against mosquitoes at night), the mini kitchen where we made simple breakfast and lunches, the beautiful coastline and beach! It was surprisingly quiet for staying in a bungalow without A/C and we slept like babies with the ceiling fan on. Loved sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. Perfect for those looking for a more authentic, non- resort experience. Could not recommend it more.

This hotel captured the essence of Moorea. It's not fancy at all. It's rustic, authentic, and super relaxing.

The location next to the park and beach as well as 6-8 local restaurants and small grocery stores make it ideal to save money or really get a feel for the local culture.

The hotel owner (Natalie) is wonderful, the staff is friendly (although the French waitress is stereotypical), and the grounds neat, clean, and tropical.

This hotel is probably the best value for the money on the island !!

I love this property because it is small and low-key with a very helpful and friendly staff.
Found the food to be ok. Restaurants and grocery stores within easy walking distance.
Was not able to book a fare so had to take the hotel type room. Absolutely loved it and enjoyed our little garden patio. Would actually book same accommodation again.
Wish the mini kitchenette had a few more cooking items, such as spatula, larger knives, cutting board, salt and pepper. Even without these items we made it work for breakfast and occasional dinner.

I was unable to stay at the hotel due to their limited check-in time and the fact that the hotel is actually on another island from the airport. I called in an attempt to get a late check-in and was told no. I attempted to get some form of refund, even partial, and Hotels.com could not get an approval from them and Hotels.com itself was also unwilling.

A taste of paradise

Excellent location! Restaurant had an awesome sunset view! The bungalow defiantly gave you the island experience. I really enjoyed my stay here.
The only negative I have to say is about one staff member.We wanted to order a taxi for the evening and she proceeded to tell us that you need to order a taxi 24 hours in advance and told us that this isn’t America and we can’t expect things right away. Then she asked if we were done because she had other customers she had to attend. If it wasn’t for the other staff members we would’ve checked out.
Not sure if I would stay here again. I enjoyed the location But she really made us feel uncomfortable.

A disappointing , overpriced hotel. We stayed for a week and we only received toiletries on the third day.No television in the room and the shower head was faulty and wouldn't sit properly on the wall. The only saving grace was the Sunset restaurant which was reasonably priced and the food was excellent.

Great location near small town, good beach, great view of the lagoon, great wi-fi, no hot water (but claim they are getting it fixed), loud roosters in the morning. Bungalows dated and funky but comfortable. Good overall experience, but don’t expect too much. Small complex, maybe 30 units. Definitely not a Hilton. OK value for the price.

I often decline to review anything that is negative as I know it affects the establishment so much (the people there were quite nice), but there are a few things I should mention that can be easily addressed. Overall, Moorea is an expensive island to visit, and you are charged every step accordingly. Sadly, the Hibiscus Inn was only adequate in terms of value and accommodations. They could do better. For example, the shower only provided warm water, and the absence of a water curtain only became apparent when you realized that the shower head was hand-held, requiring one hand to wash and one hand to spray (the stem did not hold the shower other than spraying to the wall). Moreover, there was only one towel rack which does not accommodate the six towels often required, and the towels were old and coarse. The bed and furniture was sub-standard given the price paid and there was no TV (we only found CNN in other hotels). The restaurant was great, however, I would NOT stay here again.

Very pleasant helpful staff. I stayed in \"motel\" part for the air-conditioning which made my sleeping easier. Very clean, comfortable bed. Shower warm and powerful. Nice pool away from beach and right next to public beach so best of both worlds. Restaurant okay. I found the food adequate but not spectacular. Very close to market and my room had refrigerator, stove stop and utensils/dishes for cooking so could make own meals. Internet slow and intermittent which I'd guess has more to do with whole island access. Taxi and transport expensive on island but worth at least one day's rental to tour island and especially Belvedere overlook. Moorea is wonderful!

Each room here is a detached cabin, with electricity, water, and a fan. (No TV or air conditioning, though.) My room was very quiet and comfortable.

Our room was decorated with flowers when we arrived. So sweet! It was a good sized room and didn't feel cramped like some hotels. The location was quiet, private and on the beach plus it has a good size swimming pool in the center of the property. (right outside our door) An on-site restaurant offered meals with a view of the ocean. Local stores were within walking distance. An off street parking area was available behind reception to park our rental car. Recommend renting a car! Saw many tourist trying to hitchhike in the heat.

The cottages are roomy and each has a porch. Comfortable bed. Fan speed was not fast enough to keep the room cool. No screen on the slider door. Shower was used a lot because of the heat. Very nice restaurant on the premises. Pool should have been cleaned more often.

We were 25 yards from water and restaurant / bar. Next door was additional top restaurant, \"The Mayflower\". Food was very good at hotel \"The Sunset\" but servers were a bit slow to warm up to limited French speakers, but they may also be slow to warm up to anyone. The location was ideal. We took kayak to Motu Tiahura where Coco Beach restaurant was located, but it was not open. Owner was preparing for Saturday feast which was going to included a whole lamb and better half of a pig. Snorkling on WNW side was the best we have ever done. Great live coral, every fish you could think of. Rays were very friendly and swam up expecting to have their backs and side rubbed. It was great

Relaxing and low key beach escape

Three wonderful days, with the dial turned right down. Beach view fale definitely recommended - close to restaurant and beach. Food at the restaurant was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed being able to eat breakfast and lunch on our porch. I enjoyed the lizards, chickens and bird life, and the fan in the room kept it cool in the evenings. A lovely, better than budget but not 'resorty' time out.

Upgraded to premium bungalow no. 1 next to the beach with air conditioning (only 1 of 2 with AC) and well worth the additional expense. Breakfast buffet staff very nice and location is lovely but the choice of food was not varied and it was expensive (good food though -- excellent croissants and the scrambled eggs were delicious). Sunset restaurant had a good reasonably menu and the food was delicious.

We stayed at Hotel Hibiscus for 3 of 10 nights on our honeymoon. We payed for a lagoon view bungalow that had a sliver of a \"lagoon view\" (blocked by trees and the restaurant) during the day, and we had to keep the curtains completely drawn at night so that we would not be blasted by the neon light of the hotel restaurant sign. The hotel was nice enough to provide mosquito netting for the bed and smoke coils, but these did not keep the cockroaches out of the room. Our shower head didn't attach to the wall, and we instead had to shower by holding the nozzle in one hand while trying to shampoo/soap with another. We were nickel-and-dimed for everything, including having to put down a deposit for beach towels. The other hotel we stayed at had kayaks, canoes and snorkel gear available for guests to use at no charge, but Hibiscus charged for any use of these items.

One of the cheaper resorts on Moorea so people on a budget can still come here ! There is a choice of rooms - either lovely wooden huts (which don't have aircon), or rooms in a building which do have aircon. Good restaurant with great views of the beach, sea and sunset. They provide free beach towels and snorkelling gear, and rent out kayaks. Very good location - less than 5 mins walk to 2 supermarkets, ATM, shops and lots of restaurants. The reception are really helpful and can give you advice and book any activities or hire vehicles you want.

A good place to stay on Moorea at a good price

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Restaurant and bar on site and a kitchenette in the room. Grounds were beautifully kept and the lagoon view from our room was very nice. Village nearby had a store,ATM,restaurants and a bike rental place.
