The staff was wonderfu, very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay.
The bedroom was a good size; however, it was in desperate need of renovation. There was extensive mold on the walls and ceiling, and the metal fixtures in the bathroom were rusty. There was also a significant amount of mold in the shower area. In addition, the wardrobe door was broken, so I couldn't even open it. The bed was quite confortable, but the blanket provided was for a single bad, when I had a queen size.
During my stay, there was a power outage, and none of the emergency lights on my floor were working. The hallway was completely pitch black. I tried calling the front desk to ask whether the elevators were still operating or if someone could assist me, as I was afraid to leave my room and accidentally get locked out. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone.
Since I had a flight to catch, I eventually had no choice but to leave my room with all my luggage, using only my cell phone flashlight to find my way. Thankfully, the elevators were still working. When I mentioned the lack of emergency lighting to the front desk during checkout, the employee seemed confused and had no idea what I was referring to.
Unfortunately, this incident left me with a very negative impression of the hotel, as I did not feel safe.

room floor was dirty, called 5 times to send someone to clean, all the lady did was put water on the floor and not clean it. we had to get a bath towel to clean it. the hotel itself is very nice but the room keys had to be reprogrammed every other day. i heard other guests complaining also. other than the cleaning lady, the hotel staff was very nice and helpful

The room was spacious and well equipped; however, the floor I stayed on had a noticeable musty smell. The bathroom could use some remodeling. It was winter, and I was only provided with a thin blanket in addition to the sheet. The breakfast is very good, with plenty of options. The lobby is beautiful and modern.

Room was clean and comfortable, tough the chairs could get a refresh, staff was friendly and courteous, the location is great, close by malls and public transportation (Subway) and safe to walk around during the day.
My only complain is with their Wi-Fi, it simply didn't work during my stay. Their IT team was helpful and tried to troubleshoot and showed YouTube from their phones but we know streaming can't really compare with a MS Teams Call, I even switched to another floor where it was working a bit better, but still it was not even close to what would be needed for corporate use. I had to take all my calls audio only and even so, the audio was choppy and breaking, was unsuccessful trying to use camera or sharing screens, so be aware of that if you plan to work during your stay as I did.

The worst check in ever

I was unable to check in because the room was not cleaned. The solutions provided were illogical, as I was required to pay out of my own pocket for the night in another hotel, as well as for transportation, and then request a reimbursement the following day. All of this without any formal or physical documentation, as they did not have official letters bearing their logo. After four and a half hours, I was offered solutions directly by Hotels.com, and they corroborated the situation by contacting those responsible for it. I must point out that this was going to be my first visit to the city and my first time staying at the Meliá hotel chain. However, I doubt my company, my family, and I will ever stay there again.

I am writing to share my unfortunate experience at the Meliá Tatuapé on Thursday, December 12, 2024, which occurred during my check-in at approximately 9:20 PM.

Upon my arrival, I found the entrance area vacant, except for one employee at the front desk wearing a name tag that read, “Hendell - Trainee.” He was engaged in a telephone conversation, which concluded after about five minutes with a “beijo” (kiss in Portuguese). During this time, I waited patiently but grew increasingly uncomfortable due to a large ventilator behind the desk that directed a perfumed scent towards me. The scent, reminiscent of a cheap, all-purpose cleaner, caused my eyes to sting and water.

Pressed for time and already unsettled, I was further disappointed when Hendell, who had seen me pacing for several minutes, finally addressed me. He located my reservation and informed me of the charges. To my surprise, the amount was higher than the price I had booked via Expedia, where the listing clearly stated that all taxes and fees were included.

When I questioned the discrepancy, Hendell insisted on a “voucher” from Expedia. I explained that I only had an “itinerary” and struggled to access it on my phone due to my watering eyes. I requested that he verify the information directly on the Expedia webpage, which explicitly displayed the room rate as inclusive of all charges. Unfortunately, Hendell refused to acknowledge this and continued to demand a voucher.
After 15 min, my patience wore thin, I left.

Since 2014 I’ve stayed at the former TRYP, now Meliá Hotel! The hotel is very nice and quiet. The neighborhood is very nice, with plenty to local shops and a 15 minute walk down to the Tatuapé Mall! The rooms are very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend that Hotel!

The hotel was very nice and very clean. The restaurant had many options and the food was very good. The only thing I was disappointed about, was the pool. I like to spend a lot of time by the pool and meet other people and enjoy the sun. The pool is extremely small and nobody uses it. My only complaint and I am still working on this, I paid cash for almost every meal at the hotel and then when I was checking out late at night, after the restaurant had already closed, I noticed on my bill they had charged at least four dinners to my account, which I paid for in cash. I am still trying to work this out, but this left me with a bad impression.

Seeing the hotel property was good enough. Checking in was even better. Igor was friendly and attentive. I wish I could personally thank him for an incredibly helpful receptionist and easing so much of stress coming into 13-hour layover. He added to the positive first impression I had of the São Paulo Tatuapé. Being in this hotel, overall, made my day, if not my whole trip. I was head-over-heels in love with my room. It was big and spaceous. I loved that the fridge was stocked with Brazilian beverages, too, and there were treats available. It's incredibly sad that I stayed there on a layover. I wish I had more time in this amazing property.

This is based in my room only: I travel a lot and stay in many range of rooms around the world, I stayed on standard room because I got a deal from hotels.com and I must say, it was standard of standard room. Bed linen not fitting in the bed properly, no duvet cover or blanked covering the bed (I never saw a bed in standard room not be covered with a blanket or duvet) it had only had a bedsheet. No black out curtain. I prefer a very dark room as I like to sleep late.
Room very spacious. Breakfast was good enough for a continental. Staff was very good.
Would I go back to this hotel? On a standard room, no.
My parents stay on superior room which was good.

This hotel is very basic. The pictures make it look much better than it really is. I understand it is cheap, however I saw many other hotels nearby that were much more clean and better standards. There is not much to do around this hotel either. I don't recommend if you are on a vacation, but a quick business trip would be perfect.

Recomendo o hotel somente pela localização, demais opções não recomendo o hotel. A começar pelo check-in: hotel não possui funcionários para ajudar nas malas, na recepção a funcionária Jessica foi muito educada. O hotel te oferece apenas 1 toalha para banho, 1 coberta fininha que se encontra dentro do armário no quarto, ar condicionado não funciona, mandaram um funcionário verificar o ar condicionado mas continuou não funcionando (o quarto estava muito quente eu não consegui dormir a noite por causa do calor), colchão desconfortável (colchão barato e de baixa qualidade), pouca opção de canais na TV, frigobar vazio (se vc quiser consumir algo tem que pedir na recepção) Café da manhã: os pães e bolos estavam secos e duros (não eram frescos), suco de laranja aguado e sem gosto de natural, comidas estavam frias, hóspede não pode comer a vontade pq colocam 2 funcionários para servir o café da manhã e eles ficam controlando a quantidade de comida.

No A/C um the room, it was over 90 degrees f. We asked for a fan and it came one already broken. The breakfast was less than okay. Their sheets wasn't clean and pretty worn out. Every staff member was nice and polite, tried to help fixed, but all problems were beyond their possibilities.

Comfortable Hotel in Interesting Neigborhood

I've stayed there 3 times and explored & enjoyed the neighborhood each time. Lots of interesting shops and very tasty restaurants fill the area. Two different & interesting malls are close by, one well within walking distance. The staff is very polite and helpful with all your needs. The rooms a very comfortable and roomy, and the maid service is excellent.

Minha estadia foi horrível! Em pleno inverno depois de um dia cansativo de trabalho, não conseguimos tomar um banho quente. Ao chamar a recepção fomos trocados de quarto com o mesmo problema, chuveiro gelado! Minha indignação é que o funcionário ao ser abordado disse que não poderia fazer nada! Absolutamente nada!
Dormimos, ao acordar, banho gelado!
Pedimos ajuda porque precisávamos sair para trabalhar e nada! Ninguém tinha uma solução.
Pleno 12° graus tomamos banho gelado!

Pedimos várias vezes ajuda, perto da saída disseram que já estava arrumado porque voltamos para almoçar, gelado!
Enfim, pouco caso e falta de respeito.
Pedimos um desconto na próxima estadia, bem frio responderam que nada podiam fazer!
Que chateação! Estão errados e ainda não sabem agradar para ressarcir os danos!
Se eu volto? Não tenho nenhum motivo para isso!

O cardápio do café da manhã era muito bom, mas poderia ter mais iogurtes de frutas. A piscina tinha uma vista maravilhosa, por ser na cobertura. Porém, era pequena, havia poucas espreguiçadeiras e quando chegamos lá, já havia uma turma de 7 ou 8 pessoas que já havia ocupado tudo, além de terem levado um aparelho de som. Quantos aos quartos, eram excelentes. Porém nos quartos com duas camas de solteiros, as TVs deveriam ficar na frente das camas e não do lado. Quem ficava do lado da parede da TV, não dava para assistir a TV direito.

Sou suspeito pois me hospedo muito nesse hotel. Localização muito boa no Tatuapé! Sobre o hotel: possui um Café da Manhã muito bom! Estacionamento pra carro no local mediante pgto ( acho meio salgado R$ 45,00 / dia ). Apesar de não serem necessariamente novos, os Quartos são bons, camas boas, travesseiros e roupa de cama, chuveiro, possui cofre e frigobar abastecido.

Pontos negativos: quartos em andares mais baixos, você vai sofrer um pouco com barulho da rua.

Equipe de funcionários ( não é culpa deles, são treinados pra isso ) com uma burocracia na portaria que não entendo, não acho isso positivo pois é excessivo!

No geral, minha avaliação é positiva, busque bastante sobre pois existem Flats particulares no mesmo hotel disponíveis e vc pode encontrar tarifas muito melhores uma vez que o hotel tem precificação dinâmica e tem certas épocas que o valor é fora da realidade.

Fiquei surpreendida com o quarto muito bom , limpeza , chuveiro excelente e ar funcionando perfeitamente. Equipe educada . Cafe da manha muito bom tbm . So nao dei 5 estrelas porque o estacionamento o carro fica muito tempo fora e nao gosto !
