This was probably the worst guesthouse experience I have ever had. Absolute lack of service and lack of respect. There was an issue with the TV in our room and Elsa was not at all useful when i asked for assistance. She refused for me to change rooms although we where the only guests there. Instead she sent a message to my husband saying to let me know that there is more to life than watching TV! Insane behavior. When i asked for later check out so we could have a little more time she told me not to interfere with her business and accused me of throwing stones because I complained. She was rude and disrespectful she made my 10 year old daughter and i feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Safe to say i did not check out early, I packed and left with my daughter as soon as possible. I would not recommend this guesthouse to any one and it is a real pity as the location and rooms are beautiful but Elsa made my brief stay a horrible experience and this needs to be addressed.

Overall a pleasant place to stay on the main road just outside of Simonstown central district with glorious views and a little beach across the street. We could walk to Boulders Beach to see penguins. A nice breakfast served on the terrace in the morning. Helpful owner on site in the morning.
There is no generator - so we were two hours in darkness during load shedding (with one battery charged light). We could not get an Uber at night to take us into town and no food near hotel itself. Steep steps up to front entrance and room with no one to help with bags upon our arrival. Some stains on the bedsheets. A basic room. We would qualify this as a two star hotel.

This hotel was great. The only thing missing for us was a bit more hospitality. Everyone was very kind, but we often wondered if anyone else was actually around or in the house. Additionally, the WiFi is very spotty- only an issue if you need to do any work or hop on the internet for some reason. Overall a very nice, clean, well-located guest house.

Very professional staff. Hotel is immaculately presented with wonderful breakfast. Rooms extremely comfortable - some with amazing views of the sea. Ours was mountain facing and still a nice outlook over the garden and mountain. Sea view veranda for guests use and guest lounge with honesty bar. WiFi available throughout. Off street parking. Nice Hotel, but Remote with Difficult Access
Nice and stylish hotel, but the location is removed from anything but the beach requiring a drive to get to Simon’s Town. Access to the hotel is somewhat difficult since the only access is via the very steep driveway (i.e. no pedestrian path). Parking is limited and tight. The hotel has a fantastic view of the ocean/beach from the front veranda. The staff are very nice and accommodating. The WiFi is absolutely the worst. It is weak and keeps logging out. The beds are nice, but the pillows are very firm. I assume that they could have been switched out, but I only realized this late at night and didn’t want to wander around looking for staff to address the issue. The breakfast was fantastic.

The hotel itself was beautiful, staff was also extremely helpful and welcoming. We even saw whales one morning while eating breakfast. I only really have two complaints- noise travels very easily so once any guest is up you hear them. Made it kind of tough after long travels. The other thing, they serve breakfast but that's it(this may have been our error as well) but it's difficult to get a ride around that area and there's not really anything to do except boulders beach. After that, unless you have your own transport- you're just kind of stuck at the hotel- hungry. But again, if we would of had our own car this would have been different.

Overnight stay was very pleasant. Hotel is a little way out of town and we had difficulty getting a taxi to bring us back after dinner. However a lovely walk into town in the morning to see penguins. We had a sea view room which was lovely. Heard the waves washing th shore overnight and sunrise was spectacular.

I look forward to staying here on my next visit. A great place to stay if your exploring Cape of Good Hope. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and exquisitely presented. They have thought if everything....as I didn't bring a beach towel. An umbrella and beach towel are provided for guest. I could go and on with compliments about Whale Manor and the staff. Lastly, the spa presentation, services and staff are absolutely superb. I received a facial and massage...a treat to a perfect stay.

A perfect little B&B, very design, with breath-taking views of the bay. Very friendly and attentive staff, delicious food (you need to book dinner in advance) and a courtesy bar 24/7.
A bonus: you can walk for 10 minutes and see the pinguins without the crowds. Well worth it! Same goes for visiting the Cape ahead of the crowds (its entrance is within a quarter of an hour of a scenic drive). Ask for Steven as your guide for a perfect tour of the park.

Perfect stop after Cape of Good Hope
We drove down from the Cape Town Airport to the Cape of Good Hope, and spent the night on the way back at this hotel. The staff was amazing! Roy was a gem with the bags as well as letting us have breakfast at 7am so we could catch our tram to Table Mountain.

We had a room with sea view. The view is gorgeous and the staff are very helpful and willing to help you at any time. The hotel is located at a 5 minutes car ride to the center of the town and 2 minutes to the Penguin park.

Whale View Manor Guesthouse is a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet getaway in Simon's Town. Sweeping views of the ocean are visible from the hotel balcony, and can be fully enjoyed while nibbling on breakfast each morning. The hotel is also a short walk from Boulders Beach, and reaching the nearby penguin colony doesn't take long by foot.

The hotel is opposite a lovely beach. We had a sea view room and could hear the waves breaking while falling asleep. The staff and management were great, breakfast was tastefully presented and tasted wonderful. There were lovely areas to relax and enjoy the views through the day and a tastefully decorated lounge to relax in the evenings. The area had a good variety of restaurants, plus you can eat at the hotel, but you need to pre book. The walk along the coast to see the penguins at boulders beach is worth doing. There is lots going on at the harbour and you have a good choice of tours. The tourist information was worth visiting for ideas.

This property is perfectly located just steps from the ocean and beautifully decorated throughout, giving you a very special place to relax and close to the activities of Hermanus. The best part however is not just the tranquility that comes over you from the physical environment but the grace and professionalism extended by its staff. The attention to detail is incredible. This was our second stay here. It is ideally situated for a dip in the sea, visiting the penguins at Boulders and the Cape Point National Park. The rooms are of a high standard with plenty of coffee and tea, with biscuits. Nice balcony overlooking the seas - the views are amazing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food is excellent.
