Really helpful staff, nice hotel, don’t get room 108 as it’s above the kitchen (noisy) ’ we did and moved to 103 the next day.
The B&B option is not worth it after a few days.
Good Castle lager.
The car park is security monitored but some of the ‘guards’ pester for money.
Three days are long enough at Simonstown, naval museum, submarine and Boulders Bay.

What I liked about this hotel was the location and that there was adequate parking outside. Whilst the hotel didn't have a restaurant and we had to go outside to a local place, it wasn't any distance and the food options were what I expected

The room was very nice although the bed had no top sheet and sleeping directly under a duvet can be rather hot.

It rained on two of the days and there is no covered walkway between the hotel and the hotel restaurant.

The town has become centre stage for a baboon troop and one has to dodge baboons when walking about town, shopping, or going to restaurants.

Lovely little hotel right where you need to be, clean and spacious and I was upgraded to a horbour view room 👍 I was diving off Simon’s Town and had one night as it was convenient for me due to the location of the dive centre. Loads of shops, bars and restaurants around to fill your boots 😊

Hotel is in a great location in the centre of Simons Town and our room had a good sea view and was spacious, however, the reception and the rooms had a slight aroma of stale fried food from the restaurants below.
The room itself is in need of repair and ungrade, bed was comfortable, but hard floor whilst swept however the surface was certainly not clean, we quickly we had very dirty soles to our feet. The underside of the shower seat was very badly stained and unhygienic, towels were old and one had a few small holes, surfaces in the bedroom were badly marked and repair or replacement needed as do the walls, no hair dryer was provided and on request the one offered also didn’t work! Our key card didn’t work and the one provided was the hotel master key to all rooms!!! It’s fortunate we’re honest! not sure if I had been happy knowing a random guest could easily enter my room. Balcony was in need of a good clean and sweep, we were also warned about Baboons who were nearby. In fairness the staff were friendly and attentive but the owners need to invest in their hotel and support and train staff. It’s not a 4 star hotel, we stayed in 4 star SA hotels either side of this stay and the difference was frankly very noticeable. Lastly the fire alarm went off one evening due to a client using a fire door upstairs, apparently a regular occurrence?

Absolutely stunning view of the harbor! The staff is incredible from reception to housekeeping. Our room was ready early and they were so kind and helpful. The hotel is located just above what Sauvers, which became our favorite restaurant from the first night. Definitely recommend the boat company whale tour if you have a chance. Just across the street at cafe Pescado we had one of the best burgers (house made patties). We will definitely recommend to anyone and look forward to coming back.

Had a lovely one night stay at Simon's Town Quayside Hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located near the dock where all tours leave from - kayaking, shark diving, etc. - as well as several restaurants. Staff was friendly upon arrival and room was comfortable with a view of the harbor.

Lovely little hotel with ocean views.

Loved our stay here. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the two lovely ladies on reception.
The room was modern and ours had a balcony with great views over the ocean.
It's located right in the centre of Simon's Town with lots of restaurants and cafes very close.
A 5 minute drive to Boulders beach where you can see all the penguins. Definitely recommend and pay the little extra for the balcony room.

Very nice place, excellently located for all Simon's Town's attractions. The harbour is a stunning view. The beds are very comfortable and the room nicely appointed. Highly recommend. We had a nice stay at aha Simon's Town. The rooms were clean and had the usual toiletries and water you would expect, and the breakfast downstairs was good.

The only issue about our stay was we booked a double room via Hotels.com (selecting either double or 2 x single beds at checkout) which was just a preference. When we arrived, there were only twin rooms available.

To add more confusion, the hotel's own literature in the room says that all rooms have kingsize beds?

More clarification needed over beds and just to make aware you may get twin beds when booking double.

Our mountain view room had all old windows that rattled so loudly all night, and the a/c unit is way too small for the room. The people were lovely though and it's a great location.

Having strayed from this on occasions I have found some outstanding places on my travels particularly the Pavilion in Cambodia and Bodhi Serene in Chiang Mai. Now adding this place to my list. The Hotel is right on the water at the marina. The views of the boats coming and going were fantastic. The morning breakfast was fabulous with a cook ready to make omelets and more! There are shops and restaurants on either side and across the street. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and we had a very safe and restful stay. We would definitely recommend it!

The hotel is beautiful and the room very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. We requested a room with a view over the harbour and were rewarded with a quite stunning view over False Bay. Only mild irritant was the lack of free WiFi - maybe we misinterpreted something, but when the description mentioned WiFi, we weren't expecting it to be chargeable.

A short but good stay at this hotel. Free parking right next to the hotel. Friendly staff on the reception desk. Room was beautifully decorated with a nautical theme and very clean and comfy. The best thing was the excellent sea view across the harbour. Also good choice of restaurants underneath the hotel so not far to walk for good food.

The hotel is in a beautiful location. the staff is pleasant. There are plenty of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Parking is free and convenient. It is about 30 kilometers from Cape Town so if you are planning to commute back and forth to Cape Town it takes a while, especially given that there is major construction on the only road back to Cape Town. The view of the harbor is beautiful. My only complaint is that the summary states that wi-fi is available in the lobby. this is not true. The only way to access wi-fi in this hotel is to purchase either time or amounts of data from a mind boggling list of options. Even once purchased, getting set up on the purchased wi-fi is extremely difficult.

The hotel is situated in a nice spot by the water walking distance to shops. The cooked breakfast included was soo good alot of choice and plenty of everything. The breakfast room staff and house keepers were very pleasant girls. Always smiling. Overall a great place to stay very relaxing.

We chose this hotel for its harbour-side location and for the views possible from some rooms (only) at the hotel. For the price we paid we were not expecting anything grand. The views from the room exceeded our expectations & the welcome given by Natasha on front desk made us feel welcome and right at ease. However, if you are looking for a hotel with pristine finish this hotel is not for you. The beds were comfy, everything clean and working, but these rooms are well overdue for a makeover & refurbishment of the bathroom facilities. A bath and a shower was a nice surprise though. Where this hotel excels is with the staff it has. The walk to the breakfast room is 'an experience', but when you get there you will be welcomed heartily by Bernadette who puts huge energy, enthusiasm & great cooking skill into preparing a wonderful breakfast. I loved especially the poached eggs and the full sized fried tomatoes served with crispy toast and mushrooms. The croissants were fresh out of the oven and the blueberry muffin was the best I have ever tasted. Natasha makes a fabulous Rooibos tea & also gave me great tips on how to do so. There is a great choice of food to suit all tastes. There is a lovely atmosphere in this breakfast room ( created by the friendly and very attentive staff) and the service at table is exemplary. Well done to all of the staff. You make this hotel! I would use this hotel again.
