Chilled Spot Away from the busy centre

Great quiet spot north of all the busyness, but walkable 10mins along the beach. Good to escape the burnt backpackers and chill. Sea good for a dip/snorkel. Rooms are large. Happy hour cocktails on beachfront. Sairee beach was not really for me after the chilled vibe of the south but worth it for the amazing sunsets.

Very nice place to relax. Almost at the end of the beach, very quiet safe and clean. Cottage style dwellings which are well maintained. Staff was great and the two sisters that run the resort made sure I was met at my best and also got me a reservation back to Samui even after. It showed booked online. If you like the Thai food it is delicious and prepared well. I would recommend if you're going to Koh Tao to check it out.

A darling resort steps away from the beach!

We loved our stay at Palm Leaf Resort. Before we even arrived, Fon was in touch with us to make sure we would have a taxi ready to pick us up from the ferry and to ensure that everything would be ready for our arrival. From start to finish, the service was fantastic and they were willing to help us with fresh towels, scooter rentals and anything else that we needed assistance with. The rooms were clean and full of character - not to mention, right on the beach! We could have rolled out of bed and been on the sand. The bed was a little on the firm side, and the food wasn't our favourite on the Island, but other than that - we couldnt have asked for a better place to spend our time in Koh Tao.

Great spot directly on the beach, staff were very helpful with ferry shuttles/coordination and helping with bookings. A 5-10 minute walk from the bars and dining in Sairee Village, which can be pretty loud so we were happy to be a short walk away. Restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch only.

Palm Leaf was a fabulous place for my daughter and I. We had a sea view bungalow for 4 nights and loved every single minute of our stay. I would definitely go back again and again. The front desk woman was so so kind and helpful, always a smile. This place is a gem. Not fancy but clean, safe, comfortable and just down right lazy.

very nice room, very clean. You can book taxi, motorbikes, tours at the reception. Good food. Reception can provide information on what to do. Nice restaurant near by with great BB.
It would be nice if the place would have a pool. Restaurant closes at 7 pm which is early but it is close to other beach restaurant. The sunset is hidden by some rocks (in April) so it is better to go to the next restaurant if you want to see it

The Palm Leaf has been our favourite hotel during our 7 week trip to Thailand and Vietnam so far. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Tha location has been quite perfect for our liking. It is near the end of the nicest beach on the island so relatively quiet. It is a ten minute walk along the beach passing many hotels, restaurants and bars to city centre. The hotel restaurant and bar serves very good meals at reasonable prices and drinks are cheap as well. The bungalows are spacious and clean and many have ocean views. We were upgraded to an upper suite for our last night and were really impressed with the upper floor suite. It is very large with An amazing deck and ocean view. No pool here but the ocean and sunsets are really the focus here. We would love to come back!

Beautiful quiet bungalow with great AC!

Palm leaf is absolutely wonderful!! It’s right on Sairee Beach but towards the end where it was much more quiet. Which we loved!! The bungalows are beautiful, clean, spacious, and that AC!!! It was amazing. The staff was so helpful and kind. They have great lounge chairs and towels for you to use on the beach and everything you could want is in walking distance. They also have a bar and restaurant right there for you. This place was incredible and we will definitely stay again the next time we’re in Koh Tao!

Perfect for Me!

I come to Koh Tao once or twice a year to dive. This was my first time at Palm Leaf. It is quiet (far enough away from the party bars to sleep) and a four minute walk to my dive shop along the beach. The bed is comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. I have stayed at several budget hotels over the years and they are all pretty crappy here and not worth the 600-1,000 THB they charge. For a little bit more, I had a fantastic stay and will definitely return.

My partner and I loved our stay at Palm Leaf resort. The staff were incredible, very helpful, friendly and attentive.
We stayed in a sea view bungalow which was a very spacious, always thoroughly cleaned and the location was perfect for us. It was far enough up the beach so it felt tranquil and secluded, but only 10 minutes away from the huslte and bustle.
The only thing that we weren't so keen on was the food here, however there are plenty of restaurants close by so that did not bother us at all.
When we return to Ko Tao we will definitely stay here!

it's a small and cosy hut eventhough it's a bit outdated but with perfect location, end of Sairee beach (clear , clean water and super soft sand, especially stay away from loud music on some bars)

Lots of bugs in the room and no ac . 1 staff ask for more money from me to get to take me back to the hotel when I bought a round trip ticket from her on a small boat taxi so she clearly knew I had already purchased it . Beach view. Great location. Close to downtown area but far enough away too. Facilities could use a bit of updating. Bigger mirrors. More electrical outlets in the bedroom and bathroom. Maybe one more luggage bench. Bed was incredibly hard but it's good for you. And your back won't hurt in the morning if you put the extra pillows under or between your knees. Housekeeping should leave 4 not only 2 towels. It's also probably time to buy a new set of towels.

Just like any other hotel this one had its pros and cons.

To begin with the Pros:
Beautiful sunset right on the resort beach
Friendly and welcoming staff/management
Comfy bed in a tiki hut style room with good A/C
Motorbike onsite rental

Cons:
Many aggressive mosquitoes
The floods from prior rain storms destroyed the entire interior walkway of the facility so hard to maneuver around with your luggage
Ugly bathrooms w/luke warm water (definitely need renovating)
WIFI is SLOWW and hardly works in some areas of the property
Surrounding area in this island sucks... All drunk travelers roaming the streets, loud raves, and quite the opposite of a paradise island

Overall decent for the price, depends on what your searching for.

Hotel Room is situated 1 minute from the beach. Though the sea view was sightly blocked, but it was perfectly compensated by the convenience to the beach. Sun bed is for strictly for guest only, thus, no worries overcrowded. Walking along the beach at late night wasn't scary at all. Although the hotel is located 5 mins away from the stretch of pubs and lounge along the beach, it is very quiet. Hence, there is absolutely no worries on disturb sleep. Having said that, the stray dogs does bark in the middle of the night and early morning. That's not within the hotel control anyway! Lastly, it is only 5 mins walk away from Big Blue Diving School. It will be perfect if the guest is informed in advance of any necessary repair works around the vicinity. The bungalow next to mine was going thru some repair works early in the morning at 7am!

Peaceful get away in Koh Tao

We enjoyed Palm Leaf Resort, it is on the beach in a wonderful location. You are walking distance to the shops and small town, the nightlife, and plenty of restaurants, yet you are also far away should you need some peace and quiet. The bungalows are very neat and tidy and have everything you need. I just was not too happy with the bathroom basin hanging a bit, but everything else was perfect. The staff are helpful. Beach towels are available and snorkeling gear. the restaurant is nice if you dont feel like walking anywhere. It just has a very peaceful and calm ambience. The beach is lovely.

The sea view villa was absolutely amazing, the bed was comfortable and clean with a good size bathroom.
The restaurant on the beach had a chilled out feel and the food was lovely with big portions, however sometimes a little slow coming out but thats thailand all over usually.
The staff were friendly and polite and I would definitely recommend it and stay again.
It's a 5 minute walk up the beach so not to close to the nightlife, but a great walk back after a night out.

Had a wonderful 5 nights at the Palm Leaf resort. Stayed in one of the older, traditional bamboo huts, which is exactly what I was after. The lady on reception was amazimg. Very helpful and friendly. The resort is located at the far end of Sairee beach; quiet, but easy to get to the nightlife should you wish. There are many dive schools very nearby, shoukd you wish to do some diving while on Koh Tao.

Comfy, quiet, next to the beach.

Me and my girlfriend decided to stay at palm leaf after checking out a few reviews of other accommodations. We were driving in Koh Tao for 4 days, so we wanted to be close to the diving centre (10-15min walk along the beach) which was in the centre of sairee but not too close to all the partying and noise and fortunately this was the case. We came across another couple who were quote to the centre and had to move further out because they couldn't get enough sleep with all the people shouting in the early hours.

We booked a supreme villa, which was roomy enough for the two of us. Everything was fine except the Wi-Fi signal isn't very strong so it's hard to get a connection.

Other than that, had a fantastic stay. Made the trip all the better!

We were very happy with an upgrade when we arrived. Room was nice and the hotel is in a great location. The restaurant staff were not very helpful or polite. When we checked in the staff on reception agreed to let us keep our room until 12pm instead of 10am on the day of check out as we did not need to leave for our boat until 3pm. However at 11am we were sitting down for breakfast when someone came over shouting at us asking why we haven't checked out. We explained that someone else told us we could keep the room but she did not agree and things turned sour very quickly.

Very rude receptionist. I made a mistake on my booking and althoght the room was empty they charge me for the day i didnt show up - many hotels just change the day out of courtesy. The dutch lady have NO idea how to threat custumers. Not at all. The AC on the room made me sick. I would not return.

Close to the beach the nicer Northern end of the beach, but unless you walk along the beach back from the bars, dive centres, shops etc then you have to take a horrible dirt road track that is dark and with nothing along it. Rooms was cleaned well, but they didn't change my sheets at all even though I cut my foot and knee on the first day and the sheets were very dirty. Overall I'm not sure if I would stay again.

Perfect location on Sairree Beach

We had absolutely lovely stay at Palm Leaf...we stayed in the new rooms which were very clean and modern, incl. a lovely balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful, attending to all our needs. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the main amenities to Sairee beach yet Palm Leaf is 10 mins away from the action and offers total quietness at night.

The only minus is the food at the restaurant is very average except for great cocktails, but then again so are the other beach front restaurants.

Great service and very accomodating. Farther down the beach than most resorts so a little quiter, but the bass from the beach parties does come in. This will be with any resort as the parties are loud- this is about as far away drom them as you can get.

Management and staff wax very friendly. When they knocked fof room service we didn't need it and they immediatdly handed us extra waters, toulet paper and towels. They also woke the manager to retrieve items from the desk that we needed and were happy to do so. I'd stay again.

Gåavstand til alt man trenger, veldig pent å gå langs stranden! Fint og rent rom med super beliggenhet, men litt irriterende at aircondition skrudde seg av når man forlot rommet og bruke god tid på å kjøle ned rommet etterpå. Hadde litt problemer med safen og måtte betale for å få noen til å åpne den med en nøkkel, noe som ikke kostet dem en krone, så det var også smålig kjipt.

Sauberes, großes Zimmer, sehr gute Zimmerreinigung täglich, freundliches Personal mit einer sehr freundlichen Inhaberin. Wir können nichts negatives über die Inhaberin sagen, klar ist sie geschäftstüchtig und bietet alles an (Ausflüge, Rollerverleih, Transfer). Aber sie bietet es einmal an und dann nicht wieder. Roller kostet wie über all für mindestens 2 Tage pro Tag 250 Baht. 1 Tag 300 Baht. Auch ein von uns abgebrochener Handyhalter am Roller, sollte nichtmal berechnet werden. Am Ende habe ich dafür nicht mal 3 Euro (100 Baht) bezahlt. Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Liegen am Strand mit neuen Auflagen. Restaurant direkt am Strand mit normalen Hotelpreisen, nicht überzogen. Geschmacklich und Portionsmäßig gut. Breitester Strandabschnitt am Sairee Beach bei Flut. Genug Liegen vorhanden.

Lovely, comfortable and quiet

Palm leaf is situated in the quiet north part of Sairee beach, in other words a great location close to everything you need including peace and quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I liked the bed. The view from our bungalow was besutiful with many big windows. We could see the beach and hear the waves. The only irritating thing was a dog barking alot during the night, but this is not the hotels fault. Also i feel sorry for all the stray dogs so i didn’t let that bother me too much. It’s good that hotels care for and feed the poor dogs. The restaurant is under reconstruction at the moment, so theres no bar or restaurant. This makes the place more quiet and a bit lonely, but that’s just how it is. Perhaps i think the price for the rooms were a bit too high concidering (we didn’t know about the closed restaurant before we we were there). There’s enough places to choose from near by, so a restaurant/bar isn’t necessary but would add a more lively feel to the resort. The reseptionist was very helpful with ferry bookings, luggage delivery and so forth. Thank you for that. We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay over all.

Fina bungalows i fantastisk miljö, direkt på stranden med koraller och fiskar bara 30 m rakt ut från solstolen.

Bungalowen är rymlig och har gratis internet, städning varje dag och sköna sängar. Det finns kylskåp på rummet så man kan hålla dryck kall.

När vi var där i mitten på januari 2022 så hade det mesta som rör turister bara varit igång i några veckor och det märktes tydligt med nedstängda affärer, restauranger och hotell. På Palm Leaf hade de inte öppnat restaurangen ännu så vi åt frukost på närliggande ställen. Man kan köpa kylda drycker i receptionen som ligger nere vid stranden.

Eftersom det finns koraller så nära hotellet så är stranden av korallgrus, vill man ha mer vitsandig strand kan man gå några minuter på stranden åt vänster.

Älskar man att njuta av utsikt och miljö så är det här det absolut bästa läget på den här stranden. Vi hade bungalow med delvis havsutsikt och jag älskade att dra isär gardinerna och ligga kvar i sängen och bara titta ut på vattnet på morgonen.

Best location, friendly service

Best location on the island: at the end of the main beach which makes is walking distance from everything but still on a quiet location away from bars and noice. Very kind staff who helps with bookings. Spacious, clean and characteristic rooms on a jungle-like environment. Hotel doesn’t have breakfast but it can be enjoyed right next door at a beautiful seaside restaurant. A big recommendation to this hotel!!
