The staff was very friendly and the resort itself was very nice and pretty, but everything around it was not well thought out.
Most problematic was the water preassure in the shower, it almost felt like a joke. It took me almost 2 minutes just to get my hair wet. The electricity gave out surprisingly often. The bathroom door doesn't offer any privacy and the sink was built so badly it was nearly impossible to use.

Ordering anything in the resort was expensive even in resort standards. I understand such places are expensive, but it was above the norm. And to top that they charge you 10% service and 5% card fee.

FABULOUS!

Beautiful stay. Staff very attentive, smiley and welcoming nothing was any trouble. Enormous room, very comfortable bed and pillows, looking over infinity pool with incredible see view and sunsets looking out to Koh Nang Yuan Island. Taxi boat available for day trip from hotel. Food excellent.

Only negative was food and drinks very pricey compared to anywhere else we have stayed with an additional service charge and tax of 17% added to your bill

View was spectacular and that’s their primary value but you can tell that even in one of their “best” rooms (private villa directly on the ocean) conditions were poor and property wasn’t well maintained or were still undergoing major renovations.

AC was very weak and insulation was poor. The room had a lot of wear and tear marks on most furniture that made overall vibe of the villa feel dirty/unclean. Doors didn’t feel very secure including the gate and we had two tourists just randomly walk into our private villa area for pictures even though it was labeled private area.

Villa to our right was under major renovation as well as a lot of areas in the resort which gave everything an incomplete vibe. Lots of construction materials, waste, debris laying in view for key guest areas. The advertised private pool for our villa was broken and when staff tried to fill it, extremely murky yellow water ended up filling the pool with no chlorine which meant we couldn’t use it.

We only stayed for one night, but one night is more than enough to take in the spectacular views. Far better quality and comfortable stays in comparable properties on the island.

Avoid! really wish we had not stayed. Overpriced for not much quality. Very expensive for everything in the hotel, then they add a service charge, plus VAT and then added it again to the final bill trying to get double out of me. A massage is nearly 1000baht, down in Sairee its 300. 2 cups of Tea was 280 baht, 100 in Sairee. We had a meal at the restaurant and it came to 1600 baht for 2 cokes, veg fried rice, prawns with a bit of cabbage, fries and salad. Did order calamari but it was off, so he told me it was local squid. I couldnt even pull it apart infront of him.... Then they added a service charge and VAT. More expensive than anywhere in Thailand. I would understand if it was a 5 star resort. Its not. Our chalet was poor with a hole in the roof. Very outdated and up a huge steep hill that people would not even ride a bike up. The views were spectacular though especially of nuangnuan.
The beach is not a beach, its sand put on a man made bank. Lots of building work and materials all over the place. Man made pier is rusty and broken. You also have to walk down the cliff and loads of steps. Again, steep to walk back up. Nice pool but overlooking a building yard. Also they hire out equipment and it is 5 times the price of everywhere else. They do shuttle runs to town, but if you go outside of the 4 times they charge you a lot of money. They wont order a taxi, you pay their driver.
If you dont mind a cliff, have money to burn and want to pay over the top, then its for you.

The staff is excellent and the location is fantastic. The overall hotel setting and facilities are great: the food is considerably better then in restaurants in Bangkok. The room is nice, however, it gets a little moldy because of overall humid weather and the air-conditioning is somewhat loud. But the staff, the surroundings, and the rest of the facilities make up for it. Definitely going back to this place and I highly recommend for those interested in swimming and snorkeling: you don't need to take a boat anywhere just get down to the water and swim along the coast - you will see tons of fishes, coral, colorful clams and anemones, and even an occasional sting ray

Beautiful hotel but we were exhausted hiking to our room. The hotel was built into the side of a hill and has very steep climbs (particularly if your room is in bldgs 4 or 5). They do provide tuku transportation up, but only to a point, then stairs the rest of the way. Absolutely not for wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, or persons not able to use stairs.

We were greeted on the pier with a sign with our name on it and a great smile. We were driven to the resort at the north terminus end of the main north-south road. The trip time took around 12 minutes. We got a nice drink and were checked in by the front desk within 7 minutes of arrival and were in our room 2 minutes later. This was welcomed as we had been travelling for over a day to get there.

We stayed in a deluxe poolside room, which is just off the main lobby area. It overlooks the pool with Nang Yuan islands in the background. The room had a clean bathroom with toilet and open shower. The shower is heated with an in-room electric unit and it produces a hot stream of water. The bed is king sized and comfortable. The TV has several English channels (BBC, NatGeo, Diva) with an unusual amount of Canadian home renovation content. There's a desk and a chair. There are eight hangers. Bring plastic bags for dirty clothes and transfer them as used and keep them around the hangers at the door. Use the lock on your bag as a safe and your bag as drawers. The balcony with two chairs, a table, and towel drying stand. AC could keep the room at 22c.

The Sunsets at Sunset Restaurant are beautiful. The Thai Food was well spiced and portioned. The Western food lightly spiced. Great service!

The Snorkel site produces a lot of clean water, an easy slope into the ocean, plentiful fish, and pretty coral.

Staff is very friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind by Canadian standards.

Not worth the money and poorly managed

Views are obviously amazing. But this comes at the expense of being near nothing, on an island with the most expensive taxis in Thailand. The location would be fine if the hotel was exceptional but it is overpriced and gets pretty tiresome pretty quick. We paid more for what we thought would be a better room/a bungalow. The bungalow wasn’t as nice as the standard rooms that other family members were in and was up a ridiculous hill. I’m in my late 20s and work a physical outdoor job and I still thought the hill was ridiculous. The place needs tidying up, there’s **** everywhere. Main gripe was the staff, the young staff try hard but they have no leadership. As an example: there’s 1 male and 1 female toilet at the breakfast area; the male toilet is out of action as the manager stands in there smoking all morning and occasionally ****ing all over the seat. Like seriously what the ****, why would anyone think that is acceptable. The next nearest toilet is up and down multiple sets of stairs and not nearby. When I went to complain to reception, the staff were all asleep (it was about 9.30am). Someone needs to step in and straighten the place out if they wish to charge as much as they do

Secluded. Beautiful views. You have to rent a motorcycle to stay here; because it’s too far to walk anywhere. But that seclusion was worth it. Also, be sure you’re knees are in good condition. Walking the steep paths of the property took some effort.

It wasn’t so good, especially for the price. You must have a scooter because the taxi cost to town is 300-400 baht each way. After 10 you cannot get a ride to your room so if your up on the hill then you are walking and it’s steep. There is no wi-fi even though they advertise it. We stayed at 3 places in koh Tao (very expensive, mid range, and pretty cheap) this hotel was our mid range and it was the worst. We actually paid one more night and didn’t stay because of the constant array of problems we had here. We chose to stay somewhere that was a lot cheaper and had way better service and way nicer shower considering the price. Breakfast was awful as well .. eggs weren’t cooked and everything was soggy. The front desk did try to solve some of our issues and were as helpful as they could be given the means they have. Thank you front desk staff, unfortunately we will be staying somewhere else next year

Great view but let down by everything else and so overpriced! Staff are not helpful and quite rude.
Last Shuttle to town at 4:30 so pay a lot in taxis all the time to get anywhere. Rooms very basic, TV doesn’t work (only 1 channel), insects everywhere in rooms. No staff at the pool bar and no one willing to help/ provide service.
Other hotels on island much better value for money.

The PERFECT Romantic Getaway

My now fiancée and I spent our 2 year anniversary here where I proposed to her on the rocks. The resort is absolutely stunning with breath taking views of the spectacular Koh Nang Yuang that no other resorts can offer. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and always thinking about what’s in your best interest. My fiancée and I have done our fair share of traveling (30+ countries) staying at plenty of high-end resorts, and nothing compares to this resort on any level. We give this beautiful resort our highest recommendation.

Great hotel but with a few issues

Lovely hotel with some great bungalows looking out to sea. Staff are really nice and helpful. Drinks are reasonably priced and cocktails well made. There are a few issues which they should deal with and which people should be aware of: 1) They're not close to town and you either need to get a taxi (expensive for Thailand) or rent a motorbike (dangerous); the do an occasional shuttle but should offer much more frequent service 2) The non Thai food at their restaurant is poor (the Thai food is much better) and priced at the same level or higher than much better local restaurants 3) They have a truly awful local musician murdering a range of international classics which pretty much ruins eating at their resraurant 4) Finally they charge laundry per item when the local norm is per kg which makes their laundry MUCH too expensive. Summary - good but with some issues

nice snorkeling forest resort

the resort itself is like a forest. the snorkeling area is stunning. I was astonished at the quantiity and variety of fish we saw during snorkeling. The view of Koh Nanyuan Terrace is also very nice. I wish I had took the morning time to swim across to Koh Nanyuan. Also there's a small beach at the other side of the resort. There's not much mosquitos in the room during night to my surprise. I believe there are many steps but if you like nature you would not mind. Also remember to book seaview lux villa which is closer to everything. The villa has a very large balcony with nice view and sunshine.

The hotel was undergoing major renovations so there was a lot of construction material around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to book a snorkeling tour from the front desk. They also run a shuttle service into town several times a day. They were also waiting for us at the pier when our boat arrived. I would very likely stay again if I return to Koh Tao.

I stayed 14 nights in a superior garden view villa. The room was very spacious and clean with three beds. Bathroom is clean and fully functional with shower only and could use some more light. AC and mini-fridge worked fine. Mosquito netting is a nice additional touch, but didn't use it because no mosquitoes. Free Wifi in room was adequate. Free Wifi in restaurant and reception as well. The free buffet breakfast was excellent with large assortment. Free taxi transfers to and from the ferry terminal worked out great. I loved the location. It worked well for my purposes. I had a stand-up paddle board and needed a good entry and exit site. And I liked to be close to Koh Nang Yuan. This hotel is 3-4km north of the main town. I rented a 125cc automatic scooter to get around. The hotel provides a free scheduled shuttle service into town, but it will be most convenient to have your own transportation. There is also one bicycle rental business in town. Free scooter/bike parking is provided for hotel guests. The hotel is still undergoing major renovations, but they are due to be finished sometime this December, 2015. There was some construction noise during the day, but it did not bother me. The generator shed for the hotel was close to my hut, but this noise did not bother me either. There is no sandy beach in front of this hotel. The hotel is above a boulder-strewn shoreline. There are wooden steps to descend into the water.

The location is amazing. The rooms have got old. Furniture is old. In room accessories are satisfactory! Over all day experience is good. ** Need some more lighting in the room in the night.** At night the lighting of the room should be improved to make it romantic...less lighting makes it dull. Dining is fantastic! Live music ! Breakfast is good with live egg counter. Excellent hotel service from pier and regular trips to main part of city free of cost through out the day ! Over all highly recommended.

P.S. Owing to the natural feel...lizards and insects are present everywhere :) so take caution!

Close to nature

Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The hotel is a few kilometres from the main town and therefore more secluded and quiet. Best way to get around from there was with the motor scooters arranged by the hotel. You need to be fit to stay in this resort which is on the side of a steep cliff as there are many steps to and from the rooms to the dining area and down to the snorkelling area. The hotel has tried to keep the rustic feeling in amongst the trees. Lots of sounds of birds and squirrels. The steps to our bathroom and to the small verandah area were uneven and a bit hard to negotiate. The Power point in the verandah area was loose. However it was overall a good experience staying there.

Absolutely best option in Chumphon.

Chumphon was a step-off spot traveling to Koh Tao. I was there in the \"off\" season, and the hotel felt a ghost ship; which was great cause it was silent, but a little weird. From the greeting at check-in, to the moment of departure, the staff was amazing! Not just reception, or housekeeping, but the entire crew was fantastic and very helpful. Put another way; if I owned a business, I would want them as employees. The hotel itself is nice. It's expansive, which means walking from your room to say, dining, will take a few minutes. The facilities and fixtures are a little dated, but I was expecting this. In an area such as Chumphon, it shines, and if it were necessary to stay in that town on a return from the island, I would in a heartbeat. Very nice place.

This is NOT A DUSIT RESORT!

Don't be fooled. This hotel calls itself Dusit, after the amazing hotel chain, Dusit Resorts. This is not related to the Dusit at all. Hotel is poorly located with nothing close and run down...pool area is piled with broken lounges in a heap by the itty bitty pool. All guests are looking at each other in disbelief. Koh Tao in General has become over priced without any value. Go to other islands and explore...Koh Samui and Koh Phangan are lovely and have far better accommodation. Koh Tao is not what it used to be. Sad! If you do go to KT, definitely don't stay at Dusit...ugh.

Best in Koh Tao

Dusit Buncha was fantastic. The Romance Villa was wonderful with beautiful Ocean and Koh Nangyuan views from every room and perspective. The restaurant team were fantastic, catering to individual likes with breakfast and cocktails in the evening. The resort is boutique in size and enabled deserved relaxation in peace. The snorkeling is right off the unique deck with exquisite coloured fish and was tremendous. Easy motorbike hire was great to explore nearby Sairee village with enough shopping and restaurants to explore. Thankyou, we are very excited and looking forward to be staying with you again in the future.

The rooms were wonderful and the staff was very kind. The setting is great and the resort is isolated which is beautiful. My only real complaint would be that there is taxi surcharge of 250Bhat to get to the hotel from town. There are 4 daily hotel shuttles but the last one is at 4:30pm. Addiationally, if you want to get to Koh Nangyuan which is very close to the hotel, you must go all the way back to town and then take a long boat from there. Otherwise, the resort is very nice. It takes about 45 minutes (up and down steep hills) if you decide to walk to town.

Spent 2 nights in the confines of the seaside room, ordering room service, reading, sleeping, and just enjoying the view. It's very quiet over there. The only sounds are of passing boats, and the waves. I strongly recommend it as a nice getaway.

Most beautiful location on north west not windy side of koh tao facing two lovely islands .Our first room close to the réception was not renovated and no view but then we asked to change and were upgraded to a very nice room with wonderful sea view. The food was not too good, very greasy. And the surroundings need better cleaning and maintenance. The employees were very nice and we wish to give spécial good mention for Tony , the manager who does his best to make the guests happy

No promises kept, terrible stay

I arrived at Dusit Buncha with my girlfriend to see the place was not at all what we expected, the staff weren't attentive and there was litter everywhere. We were given two single beds pushed together with separate mosquito nets, duvets etc which isn't what we'd paid for. Our bathroom was filled with mildew/mould, the balcony doors wouldn't lock the deck chairs were broken etc etc. I was polite to the manager but received very little help. The doors weren't fixed properly so the place didn't feel comfortable or safe. The pool was dirty, the service at the restaurant was terrible - my food was placed on a table 5 metres away and left there to get cold (also some Thai Elvis impersonator was dreadful) - everyone else in the hotel looked unhappy. we were upgraded for the last two night but this really didn't make up for the first two nights, no refund was offered and no introduction was facilitated to the regional manager. Appalling stay there, especially for the price when compared to a number of alternatives.

The manager blamed his burmese staff for everything which honestly isn't our problem. I await some compensation

The quality of the hotel is tough to beat anywhere on the island. The staff are very friendly, the food was good, the rooms are exceptional, but my only slightly negative is the access to and from the arrival dock and main beach. Expect to spend 100baht/person each time you want to get to a usuable beach, usually about 200baht/person.

Stayed at this unreal hotel for just 2 days with some friends to relax and unwind.....it was amazing. The views, the room, the food, the staff were all amazing and would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is looking for total relaxation.

A little piece of heaven on Koh Tao

My partner and I loved this resort. Upon arrival we were told that because it was so quiet at the resort we would be upgraded to the best room they had! We were in a bungalow style room (#114 I think) right on the water, with a beautifully made bed with mosquito net and air con and a balcony right over the water. Sadly the tide was too high when we were there to swim in their private beach, though we were extremely happy with the friendly service and beautiful location.

The resort is a taxi ride away from Sairee Beach, but we found the drive on the back of the ute very affordable, scenic and even fun! It is really tranquil and quiet and the restaurant has beautiful views out to Ao Nang Island.

I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this beautiful resort.

Big place on a hill, uncomfortable to get around. The place lies far away from centrum.
Everything on the hotel was more expensive compared to all other restaurants and hotels. They even charge you for water and renting snorkels equipments. The only positive thing is the view, but honestly, you can get it from other hotels as well and for better standards that cost cost less :)

La chambre est très spacieuse, Salle de bain aussi mais manque de propreté ( cheveux jamais balayé). Nous dormions tout en haut de l’hôtel à côté d’un générateur 😏qui tournait jour et nuit .

Skulle også ønske de gjorde mere for at holde det fine koralrev udenfor hotellet fint, hvor der er utroligt meget skrald på havnbunden, som ligner bygge materialer fra hotellet

En meget skuffende oplevelse, hvor alt ser pænere ud på billederne, end i virkeligheden.

Poolen var i dårlig stand, med risiko for at skære sig på løse fliser, samt der lå løse ledninger i vandet ved kanten.

Aircondition var gammel og meget larmende, så vi sov med ørepropper og generelt sov virkelig dårligt.
De har gang i en større renovation af hotellet, som kommer til at vare meget længe. Vi blev lovet, at håndværkerne kun ville arbejde fra kl.11-17, men de var allerede i gang kl.8 under morgenmaden. Det resulterede i støv og støj, så vi ikke havde lyst til at opholde os på hotellet i løbet af dagen. Det burde vi have været advaret om inden vi ankom, da det var afgørende for vores ferie.
Stedet er generelt i dårlig stand på de dele af hotellet, der ikke er blevet renoveret endnu. Det bliver sikkert flot, når de bliver færdige om lang tid…

Det positive: Virkelig smuk udsigt, hvis man har værelse med havudsigt! Og personalet var søde, men kunne ikke hjælpe med så meget. Det skulle også være oplagt til at snorkle, men der var for meget blæst og bølger til, at vi oplevede det under vores ophold.

Når man googler hotellet, har det 3 stjerner, men på hotels.com står det som 4 stjerner - burde helt klart sættes ned til 3 stjerner.

Fint hotell og rommene ved bassengområdet er fine. Området trenger oppussing og fornyelse, alt fra bassenget der det var løse fliser til mye blader og fugleskit på området. Hjelpsomme og hyggelige ansatte.

眺めは最高、レストランのスタッフは親切。バルコニーが広くて、夕日がきれい。夜はイカ釣り船の灯りもきれい。ナイユアン島がすぐ目の前。タクシーボートですぐ行けます。フィンは禁止なのを知らず、入島税を払うところに預けるはめに。確認不足を反省。岩場の海は入ってすぐにトロピカルフィッシュがたくさん。自然豊かで、階段もたくさん😅タオルが補充されてなくってフロントに行ったことがマイナスポイント。それと、今は絶賛工事中です。工事音が鳴り響いてました。私たちは気にしませんでしたが、人によっては気になるかも。

Vi har booket med privat pool til værelsey og ved ankomst er den slet ikke renset. Der er grus/sand alle vegne, og det blev heller ikke gjort under opholdet? Rengøringen var generelt elendig på værelserne. De kom kun for at redde din seng, sætte nyt vand og skifte håndklæder. Der var dyr på værelset, da vi skulle sove, som de måtte komme og fjerne for os. De andre nætter løb de op under taget om natten og skrættet, så man vågnede med et chok. Det var dobbelt pris at spise på restauranten end at gå 20min ned i byen. Og hvis du vil købe to ispinde og tage med op på værelset betalte du både 7% i VAT og 10% i service oveni. Der var ikke et supermarked i nærheden, så de var godt klar over, det var en god business for dem. Det eneste positive er fri transfer flere gange om dagen til og fra hotellet ned til byen/havnen. Og oplevelsen med havudsigt fra egen pool, hvor man kan opleve solnedgang hver dag.
Hvis man er gangbesværet, er det ikke et hotel at anbefale. Og personalet snakkede meget lidt engelsk.

Man könnte aus der Anlage viel mehr machen bzw. das wiederherstellen, was sie, insofern man den alten Berichten glauben darf, einmal ausgemacht hat.
Stattdessen findet man eine baufällige Anlage mit wenig Liebe fürs Detail.
Einfach mal allen Müll aus den Ecken zu entfernen und die Bäder der Zimmer neu einzurichten würde schon einiges ausmachen.
Der Pool ist super, der Blick und der Meerzugang auch, aber auch sollten dringend Renovierungsarbeiten durchgeführt werden.
Schade eigentlich.
Das Frühstück ist so lala. Kaffee ist ok, man bekommt frische Eierspeisen zubereitet, der Rest ist eher verzichtbar.
Das Personal ist nett, aber der Bar zur Happy Hour aber auch besonders langsam.
Etwas nervig war beim Auschecken die Überprüfung der Zimmer und der Minibar.
Alles in allem kann man im Dusit Buncha eine gute Lage genießen, sollte das Drumherum aber eher außer Acht lassen.

The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing and the staff are equally amazing! Super hospitable and always with a smile! Only negative thing that can be said is that the hotel is located a bit far from other restaurants and the hotel charges a lot more than other places for food and drinks.

Booked a suite with ocean view, the view was very nice. The room not so much. It was very big but they haven’t put anything in it. It felt like they put a bed in a warehouse. They could have put a pool table in there and there still would be room for more.

I felt like they advertise their suits at luxury but it’s anything but. The mini fridge was just plopped down on the floor at a random outlet. The bathroom is so poorly built the water runs away from the drain which leads to bad smell and black mold in the bedroom. The curtains are so worn the don’t close anymore, hade to use hair clamps to keep them closed

Very nice hotel! Excellent restaurant, but more pricy than in town. Very friendly staff! Breakfast available with fresh fruit, different choice of eggs, pancakes, waffles etc. Nice svimmingpool as well. Be aware that this it is steep surroundings, not suitable for wheelchair or disabled persons.

The hotel is really rundown, the rooms are very far away fron the 4star standard the hotel claims to have. I clearly cannot recommend to stay there. The price is in no relation to the standard. I cannot recommend to stay there. We had a 2 room family apartment with private pool. The standard was that of a backpackers hostel.

Accès à l’hôtel compliqué (fortes pentes et nombreuses marches pour accéder aux chambres, à la piscine, au restaurant). Chambres spacieuses mais vieillissantes, climatisation bruyante, très forte odeur d’humidité : à rénover en urgence ! Personnel très peu compétent et limite aimable, à l’exception du bar et du restaurant du soir. À ce niveau élevé de prix sur cette île, on est en droit d’attendre beaucoup mieux !

Nydelig utsikt

Hotellet er noe slitt, fra bassenget og området generelt. Vi fikk en fin plassering av rom, og utsikten er nydelig. Resepsjonisten var så hyggelig og var til god hjelp under hele oppholdet. Vi hadde alt i alt ett fint opphold, men håper de har renovert deler av området neste gang vi kommer.

口コミに様々なのがありますが、自分はおすすめします　部屋からの眺めは最高　オーシャンビュー　ナンユアン島とプールビユー　夕日も最高　部屋は大きくエアコン　wifiも強い　プールも眺め最高　ホテル前のスノーケリングは大きな魚がたくさん　朝食は3星ホテルとしてはかなりいい方　ただし坂が多いので足が悪い人やお年寄りには不向き　ナンユアン島までタクシーボートあり　たかが5分　B300です　サイリービーチから離れているのでレンタルスクーターがないと不便　シャトルがありますが　スクーターが必要　ホテルでも借りられるが少し高いので港の近くで借りるのが便利　一律B250 どこもほぼ同じ
