Breakfast spread was ok but enjoyed it, seating was comfortable and relaxing. Room was clean and compact. The bed was not as great and I hated the pillows. Staff was friendly and polite. Dinner was delicious and I absolutely enjoyed the photo area and jacuzzi in my room.

Have stayed at this hotel many times since 2017, was in room 211 this time. As always the room was great, large size with a big shower. Now the new railway station is open its a quick walk through to the town centre. Very handy for the flibco bus to charleroi airport, the bus stops right outside

The bed comfort was wonderful, best night sleep I’ve had in a hotel for quite some time.

The pool was throughly enjoyed by the children as well.

The downside was we were situated in two Hotel Rooms located above the SPA/Pool Area and the wi-fi did not work. The signal was very weak and disconnected frequently.

Nice Hotel, minor issues notwithstanding

Nice enough hotel although it felt like a conference centre in parts. The restaurant service was slow and the food not great (had to send a steak back that was impossible to chew through for example). Only real issue is that if you park in the car park there's no way to get into the building with your luggage unless you walk up a flight of stairs and go back down in the lift - badly thought out.

The Van Der Valk Mons Congress hotel is modern, clean, and has very nice rooms, restaurant, bar, gym, spa, and meeting rooms. The location is great. A huge modern train station is across the street that provides rail connections to anywhere in Europe. On the other side of the train station is historic old downtown Mons with shops, restaurants, and historic buildings to see. And a huge modern shopping mall with nice restaurants and stores is only a 10-minute walk away. It is the best place to stay in Mons.

Good standard hotel in calms surroundings with short walk to Grand Place. Comfortable bed. Gym closes early on weekends, which is a minus. No access to sauna but to a lukewarm splashing pool and a small yakuze which is busy most of the time.

Have stayed in a number of Mons hotels whilst i vacated my apartment in the town. This included 2 stays at the van der valk during October 2024. This time in room 103 for a week, nice big clean room, shower only. Very convenient for getting to my apartment and into the centre of town. Didn't use parking or breakfast. IKEA is 10 mins walk away and do a hot breakfast for a few euros. Also 10 mins walk to cafes etc. Van der Valk is easily best hotel in Mons, happy to recommend

I'm moving out of my apartment in Mons so stayed in the Van der Valk for a couple of nights, we could only book a business suite, room 426. Very nice large room, jacuzzi bath and a balcony with good views of mons city. We had a couple of drinks in the hotel bar but dined at the ikea in grand pres lol Local knowledge saves money! The centre of town is across the railway line and up the hill. Will be easier to access once the new station opens. Overall i'd recommend the Van der Valk as best hotel in Mons

Falls short of what’s advertised

We arrived in the hotel room without all the amenities, only enough towels for one person. The shampoo bottles were empty.
Only it is advertised that there’s a shuttle service to the airport from the hotel. What they don’t advertise is that it’s paid only and not affiliated with the hotel. To go in the pool it costs money. Everything costs something to do. Feels very cheap and not elegant even though the hotel is advertised as high class.
Service was the savior. But they were not helpful on things to do in the area, much like most concierge services are. Honestly disappointed, I wanted to like it but it falls below expectations.

June 2024 for a total of 10 nights. Hotel was clean. The only issue with the housekeepers that each time they cleaned the room they would forget to put back some items: i.e. water and coffee, plastic cups, soap, or and sugar.
The other issue was the parking in the garage. Sometimes there was no parking available (this was a part of the room charge). I went to the front desk to ask about this and asked to speak to a manager whose name is Neil W. His response was “first come first served” there is no distinction for parking whether it is a hotel quest, a restaurant only guest etc. He never asked for my name or room number and did not apologize for this.
What I do not understand is that the staff takes up a good amount of parking spaces in the garage as well.

They put champagne in the room but did not put the price - was told to call the front desk for that information.

Really nice new hotel, perfect location for Mons and if you have a car Pairi Daiza. Very nice new rooms and all the staff were lovely. Only downside was that the toilet is in its own separate room with no sink meaning you had to go to another room to wash your hands. But besides this quirk a great stay.

There was human feces on the shower towel. I asked reception to replace this and they did no,t nor did they bring a new towel to the room when requested.

Asked for a manger, none came.

Also go food poising from the resteraunt.

Clean hotel. Easy check-in process. Not far to walk to centre of Mons. Restaurant offered great food - we went for desserts. The room itself was large and had a powerful shower in a perfectly sized bathroom. Parking was part of the price and so the stay was economical too. Staff were so helpful and the little touches in the room were great as we hadnt had these in other hotels in Europe at the same price point. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the region. Hotel is also close to a mall (15 min walk) that had places to have coffee and also do some chocolate shopping as some premium Belgian chocolate brands had shops/stalls here. Of course there wer either shops too as per a notmal mall.

Hotel was everything i expected of a four star rating. Clearlybthe focus is mainly on business users as the congress centre is next door. Finding it was a bit tricky as the hotel address is not yet registered on my satnav, and a number of local roads are closed due to building works.
It's a 20 minute walk to the Grand Place

Traveling to visit family who lives in jubrise (a town close to Mons) on a vacation. I was so glad I stayed at the Van Der Valk Congres. Very well kept hotel. Everything is clean, from the Hotel room, hallways, restaurants and common areas, I felt really comfortable during my stay. First off the staff was very kind, helpful and patient with me. I confess I’m a stupid American and don’t know any French or Dutch, but it didn’t matter because 99% of the staff from the cleaning crew to front desk knows English. The rooms comes with all the toiletries and water in the mini fridge! All towels and wash rooms are very clean. Also the water in the shower room gets very hot. The cleaning crew are very helpful and accommodating! Room service is pretty cheap as well, very worth it! Room service is from the restaurant which is on the ground floor and it was a definitely highlight of my stay at Van Der Valk Congres. My family member who lives in Jubrise and hangouts at Mons said the restaurant at Van Der Valk is the best he’s eat in the area! They offer very meal during any time of the day and price point. There is nothing unique about this hotel. Hotel was not very clean. Staff was uninterested and did not care about the guests. Breakfast was overpriced, and again no service from the staff what so ever. We had spiderwebs hanging on the sealing right above our bed, had to complain twice about it before the removed them.

Overall the stay was comfortable and relaxed after busy day at work. Room was spacious and cleaned everyday. Not good internet and mini fridge was not working in my room, which is the negative side.
Close to Mons station and shopping centre in walkable distance. All good!

We have stayed at this property numerous times and had never had a bad experience before this one. We were delayed arriving due to traffic but called ahead to let them know we would be arriving late. Upon arrival there was nobody at the desk and we waited for a few minutes before looking in the bar. At this time the front desk clerk stop socializing with people at the bar to help us. When we got in our room we thought it was odd that the shower didn't have a door but we just wanted to sleep. In the morning i attempted to take a shower, that only lasted a minute or two because my girlfriend yelled at me that the room was flooding. The shower was not draining at all and the water was flowing away from the drain soaking the carpet in the room. We attempted to dry the carpet to the best of our abilities and when we picked up the towels they were brown and orange. It's clear that the carpets in that room hadn't been washed in sometime. I'm not saying we wouldn't stay there again because we hadn't had a bad time there until now. But something needs to be done about that room for sure.

This hotel was a disappointment wrt service. It is one of those cases where management has forgotten to impress upon the employees that they actually work for the hotel guests and not the other way around. So hotel employees squeeze in in front of you in the elevator, ignore your orders, actually ignore you completely in the restaurant and at reception. Particularly if they know you will speak English to them, as most of them speak only Fremch.

Lovely hotel not far from Mons centre. The service at check in and out was great. Good choise at breakfast but did have to wait for 5 mins for the man to come and cook the eggs second morning, some people rang the bell but gave up waiting. Room was clean and well serviced. The train station out side is being refurbished so a bit of a building site but a temporary bridge has been instslled to give access to the town. Ovetall a good stay and hotel. Would recomend it.

Very good hotel. You need to take a run-down walk via a railway bridge to get to Mons, but I think the quality of the hotel easily makes up for it.

Double-height ceilings, good amenities (mostly free) and a clean modern look throughout the hotel. No complaints.

No parking charges and plenty of space. If I stay in Mons again, I'd definitely stay here.

Very comfortable stay handy for the train startion and supermarket. The hotel restaurant is over price for what you get and the service was terrible. I was on busiensss and travelling in my own. I was seating in the corner behind a plant where no one could see me. I was left sitting for 40mins before order was taken. Food felt hot like it had been microwaved and was tasteless, had the Thai chicken noodles one night which was €18 and a burger the second night which lukewarm cost €20 which is overpriced for the area. I wasn’t offered desert menu , tea/cofffee or another drink. I was left for another 40mins before I went up to the service area myself to order a second drink and pay my bill. Waitress was ruid and very unhelpful. Would not eat here again

This is a thoroughly modern complex about 20 mins walk from Le Grand Place and close to the railway station (5 mins). Boasts excellent facilities and extremely attentive staff. Good breakfast and varied dinner menu. Business suites are huge and comfortable - the one I had overlooked the city. My only doubt is the longevity of the hotel now that the WW1 Centenary commemorations have come to a close - it will have to survive on conferences. Highly recommended!

Awesome - a perfect stay

What an amazing place to stay and the perfect location to get into the city centre easily on foot. The room was very spacious, the bed comfy and large, the bathroom amazing! The shower was supreme and roomy. Cleanlliness was excellent. Service on the front desk was professional and friendly. Free parking under cover was excellent and there are enough for everybody. Such a beautiful place to stay. It is very modern and could not fault it in any way. There is also a large shopping centre about 10 miinutes walk away with everything you need - supermarket, retail and food.

Thank you Congres Hotel - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back if ever in Mons again - highly recommend your hotel.
