Great breakfast!

Very high standard and value for money. The use of the old church building is amazing. Even some of the tables downstairs are made from the old pillars. However, the decor and modern-style art was conflicting, indicating there wasn't a clear vision for the direction they were going in, but this aside, it was well presented, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding.

Hotel was ok. Good location. We were on the second floor in a room with no windows. Very dark and not very welcoming room. Absolutely boiling hot and no air con as it doesn’t get turned on until April. Was at reception 2am asking for a fan.
Parking is expensive. Breakfast was average. Hotel is clean and in a good spot and the reception staff were friendly.

Lovely warm room on a cold night. Restaurant was excellent. Decent breakfast. Comfortable bed and decent shower. Characterful ambiance.

One way road system to get to the hotel was a bit of a nightmare as google maps showed the one way direction incorrectly.

Nice location in the centre of town. I parked on the street, which was free from 6pm.

Delighted to get an upgrade on arrival and the room was super comfortable. I couldn't hear any other guests or street noise.

Highly recommended and I won't hesitation to book again for future trips.

I often take my 9-years old son to Pairi Daiza zoo - the best zoo in Europe, which is just 20 minutes drive from Mons. 4 years ago I discovered this hotel which was built inside the existing church. Every time I go to the zoo, I come back to the Dream Hotel. The rooms and service are great and the breakfast has never failed to excite me!

Location and service were pretty good. I had to get my key scan everyday I was there because there was something wrong with their system. Very inconvenient that it was the process. Also getting from the parking lot to the desk I had to go through the restaurant every single time. It would bother some guests but there was no other way around it.

My experience

My sink drain was incredibly clogged. After first night, of a 2 week long stay, I asked them to fix it, but no one ever did. I had to ask to have them to vacuum the floor after week 1. Near hotel, but not very homey at all. Liked that they replenished the towels often. Front desk associate was very helpful when my car got towed. Overall a 3 star.

Slightly disappointed with the available room after seeing the various photos on-line. Quick check-in and pleasant enough breakfast though. Be prepared for a 'boutique' experience - the red entrance way may or may not appeal. Similarly, on exiting the lift on our floor, the carpet and walls were black! The hotel itself was both clean and functional. The local surrounding area may leave some guests feeling uncomfortable - thankfully, the hotel provides secure car parking (but at an additional cost and requiring your keys to be left with Reception).

Lovely modern hotel. Good location near main square. Cooked breakfast was not great, tepid at best on one morning. Scrambled egg needs improvement. Coffee disappoints. For prices charged there should be more attention to detail. Staff attention very good.

I had a wonderful stay at Martin's Dream Hotel in one of the rooms that's pictured on the Hotels.com website. The room exceeded my expectations, as it's much bigger than it appears in the picture. My stay was quiet and the bed was comfortable. I only wish I'd been able to stay longer to take advantage of some of the spa amenities. Should I return to Mons, this is the only place I'd stay.

well, this is an odd one. we chose the property mainly for the location and description of the rooms.. however, the room we got was nothing like we expected - and I cannot see anything on the website that would prepare a guest for the space we were given, especially as we had booked the cheapest room rate. On arrival, we were lead through the dining room, out to the hotel's car park and then up a flight of stairs to the room 'Amerique'; it's in an annexe of the hotel. It had a small kitchenette & living space, then a toilet, bathroom (no hooks in either) and then, very tight sleeping area, hardly room to move around the bed. Perhaps we could have asked for another room but our stay was only 4 nights, we were visiting family in Mons so spent most of the days outside. The linen wasn't great (polyester sheets and very lumpy pillows) - but the towels were lovely and bathrobes were also provided; the shower screen was not sealed so water pools on the floor; the safe was broken. One of the reviewers says 'all rooms have balcony' - that's not true. It was noisy at night, weird sounds from the corridor or outside - so if we booked again, we'd need to be in main building. The staff are friendly and professional and the breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. The bar area is nice. Next time, I'd like to try the spa...

Great location in a converted chapel, this is one of the most unusual hotels I have stayed in. They have retained the feel and architectural elements from the original church, which initially made me a little uncomfortable, but the room was quiet, spacious and clean. In-room Breakfast was late and overpriced ; I ordered a taxi through the hotel the night before that never showed up in the am and I missed my train as a result but hotel staff was responsive and assisted with transportation which I greatly appreciated.

Great hotel in the city center. Parking was on site. Our room was decorated very nicely, offered coffee/tea amenities, had a spacious shower with a cool door, and a separate room for the toilet. The bed was comfortable and the room had a lot of storage space. The hotel had a nice-looking restaurant and a bar but we did not use either. We believe the hotel was an old church and looks beautiful from the outside too. Would definitely stay here again.

Don’t trust the photographs!

We booked this hotel for the last night of a long road trip and chose this hotel as it appeared to be quite luxurious and opulent from the photographs. It was a more expensive than others in the area but we wanted to treat ourselves. Check in started well until we were asked to leave our car keys as the car park was quite small and vehicles had to double park. Whilst most do not have a problem with this we were reluctant due to the amount of things we had in the car collected from our travels as well as the fact that we just don’t feel happy leaving our keys with anyone. We had parked at the back of the car park so there was no need for us to move for anyone but the staff acted as if we had personally offended them and acted in a petulant manner which made us feel quite uncomfortable. The valet personally confronted us in the car park in an intimidating way. Once we checked in we were told that a member of staff would show us to our room, we had to wait whilst she made a phone call and was very cold without managing a smile. We were led to our room which was anything but luxurious, we had a “deluxe room” with decoration I can only describe as being akin to a teenage boys bedroom. It was clean with a kitchen area but wasn’t relaxing instead strangely decorated with overbearing bright colours. Although there was a theme it was loud and uninviting. We would not stay here again in any circumstance, the lovely photographs are very misleading!

Bizzarre!!

Bizzarre room with the tiniest window up high in the room!! Too dark not enough natural light. The room was on the second floor there were plenty of spaces where the windows used to be but these had been blocked in. To add to it the room was painted white and black. In none of the photos did it show rooms that were without windows or painted in the colour scheme we had. The headboard on the bed was black and grey animal print vinyl. The bathroom was good but the shower cubicle floor was slippy. Spa facilities are good. Parking is valet and you are asked to hand over your car keys. Didn't eat at the restaurant or use the bar as there are lots of local bars and restaurants to try. Not my kind of place I wouldn't stay there again.

Unfortunately, had a bad experience with our first room but the staff on reception immediately moved us. Second room was particularly dark and when opening the curtains all you could see was a wall. Restaurant and staff were excellent!!!

You either love it or hate it! I loved it but my husband didn’t! The staff were great and even phoned to say I’d left a pillow behind. Everything is decked out in black, floors, walls etc. The breakfast was so so and not worth the price.

Not a complete dream but we had an enjoyable stay

Great check in. Very nice location mins walk from Grand Place and restaurants. Car park very good. They have spent a lot of money to make it chic etc and it is. However in our room were two big columns floor to ceiling which turned out to be noisy Air Con ducts which along with the Air Con units on the roof of part of hotel to the right was a very noisy combination Our A/C unit was turned off!. The bathroom tiles had an old film of dirt over them. The hot breakfast terrines were warm to cold. The hotel accepted and made proper notes and I hope that they look at some insulation for the A/C ducts. If we have to stay in Mons again we would go back to Dreams. They had made the very nice effort of putting rose petals on the bed for our 50th Anniversary so we are sure the Management will sort out the issues.

Enjoyable hotel with friendly staff and very good food - eat in the restaurant if you’re hungry as the portions are very generous and there’s a great selection of dishes. Rooms are comfortable but don’t have any views - windows are up high and let some light in but now view out. Corridors a bit dreary and dark, especially at night when they can feel a bit creepy. All staff very friendly and work heard to make your stay enjoyable. Overall would recommend.

Worth a stay if your visiting the area

We stayed in the room 'Europe' which was a lovely size. It had a lovely well appointed shower room and a separate bath area. It also had a kitchenette. The bed was superking size and comfortable. With air conditioning.
Eat in the hotel restaurant ...but be warned the portion sizes are huge - I had a trio of salmon for starters and to be honest it would have done as a main.
Polite staff - good english, french and italian.
Would go back - well priced.

I only stayed here for one night as I was in town for business. They have parking and a great restaurant in the hotel. The rooms are unique because the building used to be a church or something but very comfortable with up to date furniture and bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. It's a short walk to the historic downtown which is where I spent my time. Overall it's a great choice!

We stayed one night en route from Germany. The service was generally good - very little to criticise. As the hotel is built in a former church, there are some interesting architectural features in the rooms - arches etc - and the ceiling and windows were unusually high. The only slightly negative feature in our room was a separate toilet (not incorporated into the bathroom) - rather old-fashioned nowadays. Car parking was easy - there is a private car park at the back of the hotel. We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food.
