My Room number 211 was not cleaed during the daytime. . The cleaning staff knocked on my door at 18.00 and asked if i wanted my toom cleaned.
The toilet roll holder was hanging off. The air conditioning control was broken and there was no kettle or coffee making facilities.

Vraiment un excellent hôtel en ce qui concerne le cadre et l’emplacement, piscine, jeux pour enfant, restaurant, le personnel est très sympathique. Petit bémol en ce qui concerne la propreté, toile d’araignée dans la chambre, joint de carrelage de salle de bain moisi et la literie n’est pas très confort en ce qui concerne m oreiller et le matelas. Cependant je conseillerai cet hôtel à 100% et y retournerai si je le peut!!!!

Catastrophique , chambre au RDC insalubre avec du moisi autour des fenêtres sur un mètre de hauteur .
Voilage inexistant ne reste que la tringle , nous sommes au RDC donc aucune intimité à part fermer les rideaux occultants et allumer la lumière en pleine journée .

L'isolation de la chambre pas au top on entendait la télé d'une autre chambre
L'eau de la douche n'était pas très chaude.
Salle de sport pas accessible car les machines ne fonctionnaient pas dommage. Sur le site hotels.com cela nous dit qu'il y a une piscine intérieure au final plus de piscine juste une extérieur mais pas chauffée.
Mais la dame de l'accueil gentille et agréable.

Ok for a quick trip. Was visiting the zoo and needed somewhere to sleep.
Hotel felt clean in general but the rooms are quite tired and need work.
Was going to eat at the restaurant but when we got there a customer was complaining about the food quality so gave it a miss.

Staff were polite. Breakfast was ok and decent for the price (about 14 euros).

I stayed in a tree house, which seemed a little neglected from a cleaning and maintenance perspective. The shower drained slowly and I asked the front desk to have someone look at it - not sure if they did. There were several smashed dead bugs that hadn't been cleaned off the walls, and the window leaked when it rained. I think it could have been a really cool place - just needs some love.

Really quiet hotel. Convenient for an overnight stay on our way from the Chunnel to Germany. Staff speak some English, which was a nice bonus when we called because we were going to be late. You can check in no matter how late you arrive. Bar closes at 11pm but the night porter can still sell you bottles of beer. Unlike us, do remember to close the window at night or you will be bitten by mosquitos!

Lovely property, just let down by cleanliness

We stayed in one of the treehouse lodges, in which facilities were good! View out the window was really cool, bathroom was good. Only thing that let it down was the overall cleanliness of the property. Was dead flies throughout, and old pile of mud or animal waste underneath the stairs, crack in the shower floor.

We stayed with an under 3, however stairs are a little precarious due to the construction of the pod, we may consider this if we was to stay in the future.

Based on the pictures this looked like a fine hotel to spend the night.
Little did we know.
The room smelled horrible. Comparable to sewer and an old homes people smell.
The airconditioning did not work. We complained several times (3) during the evening and night. The staff was willing to help. Little did we know that the staff actually dealt with these complaints many times. So it was just a rehearsed helping offer.
Heard that from the barman during my last complaint in the middle of the night.
The room is in desperate need of a new carpet, a new paint on the wall and new mattresses and a new bathroom and a new airconditioning which can actually work.
The bathroom shower did not work due to the lime scale. There was no water coming thru the big shower head at all!
The lime scale on the walls was of the charts.
There are tons of mosquitoes in the room and hotel. So sleeping with the window open was no option. At 1pm i could get a hold of a fan so we were able to get a few hours sleep but we woke up with broken backs and a lot of mosquito bites.
After that it was time for breakfast. There was not a lot of choice. There were two types of bread, chocolate croissants and some cereal.
The scrambled egg was really disgusting. The orange juice not fresh.
I can go on and on with everything that is wrong with this place.
On top of this all the fire alarm went off three times due to a mail function. The pool water had turned green.
This hotel definitely earned a top 2 spot of worst

We stayed in one of the sauna rooms. First issue was that the room was situated downstairs, next to the gym, the hotel toilets, & the reception area, so was very noisy. We had people in the room above us banging the floor, running around & shouting at 1am. The sauna was a nice addition to the room, but the water bucket was full of mouldy water. Cobwebs & dust everywhere in the room, and a colony of ants outside the room door, which a member of staff did clean up, but the ants returned about 10 mins later. We went for food at the hotel too, which was nice, but definitely not worth the price at all. The staff were all very polite and did assist when we reported the people above us being loud. The gym was nice, had little equipment but was good quality & very clean. We didn’t use the pool. I wouldn’t go back to this hotel, and I would recommend finding somewhere else in the area to stay.

No wi fi in our room. No extra blankets. Soap dispensers without bar soap. Shower without curtain to keep floor dry (plexiglass panel does not nearly keep floor dry). No safety rails, and these issues are dangerous to anyone, especially the elderly.

The Utopia hotel is a wonderful gem in the forest near Mons. The front staff is absolutely amazing, courteous, and attentive. The breakfast is €12, and I think it is good value for what you get. The rooms a little bit on the small side, but very clean.
I think I gave the four stars, instead of five, because I came back from visiting a friend last night, and the parking lot is very dark. It was raining a lot, and that made it almost spooky to run from my car to the entrance. I wish they would install more lights.
Also, be careful, the shower is very, very slippery. Also, I noticed there are no Kleenex, no in room, coffee maker, and no telephone, in case you absolutely have to call the front staff.
But I would stay here again, it is comfortable and you have everything you need. Again, the prime staff was exceptional. Thank you so much for all your help. 😀

Stayed here in a triple room. 2 adults, 1 child. Room was generally on the small side. Bathroom had no shower curtain/screen so the whole bathroom got wet every time someone showered. Small indoor pool, not very deep but my daughter enjoyed. Staff were friendly. Cute cats around the property. Bar and restaurant looked nice though we didn't eat there.

Hotel très jolie, dans un coin de nature reposant et calme. L'accueil super. Par contre au vu du prix de la chambre nous avons trouvé l'état un peu moyen. Rouille dans la douche, rouille sur l'armoire, pas de lumiere au dessus du lit. Toile d'araignée un peu partout dans la chambre. Fenetre impossible a ouvrir pour acceder a la petite terrasse. Et chambre absolument pas insonorisées (nous étions en face de la piscine et heureusement que celle ci ferme a 22h car nous entendions tous et également les membre du personel qui etait a coter. le sauna au top et le personnels aussi, cadre agréable et relaxant.

Lacking a lot and needs to deliver what's paid for

A place with under achieved potential. General condition was sub-standard but with a little effort it could be great. In general, service was very lacking in the professionalism expected of any hotel. Some staff were great and did the best they could but some staff needed a lesson in appropriate attitude when dealing with issues created by the hotel; the biggest issue was the apparent crisis situation created by 2 adults and 1 child in a comfort double room despite this being what was booked and paid for in advance. However, with this issue and some other general issues relating to cleanliness and a lack of routine maintenance, the hotel does have a lot of potential but needs a significant shake out to achieve it. Would we use it again? As it is, no, but perhaps if it delivered the intended experience advertised.

De l'exterieur l'hotel semble bien mais les apparences sont trompeuses...
La chambre 101 etait sale, la moquette etait tellement tachée que je nai pas osé me balader pieds nu dans la chambre, la salle de bain avait un evier jaunit par le calcaire et la separation entre la chambre et la salle de bain par une vitre transparente est une mauvaise idee car pas de rideaux a la fenetre de la salle de bain donc reveille a 5h par le leve du jour.
La piscine est belle en photo mais attention a vous elle est tres sale, le systeme de filtration semblait ne pas fonctionner, il y avait des cadavres d araignées a la surface et le fond etait poisseux et non nettoyé depuis un bon moment.
Jai juste mis la main dans leau et lodeur de leau me faisait penser a lodeur de leau dun etang.
Aller dans la piscine cest prendre le risque d'attraper une maladie, je serai curieux davoir les analyses de l'eau... jai alerte la personne de laccueil qui semblait ne pas etre étonnée et n'a rien fait pour ameliorer la situation.
Jai l'habitude des hotels (2 a 3 nuits par semaine) et le petit déj a 15e cest du vol.
Je nai pas teste le restaurant car les prix etaient élevé pour ce qui etait proposé. Je suis alle dans le centre ville de Mons ou jai bien mange pour moins de 20€.
Pour finir, payer presque 90€ pour des prestations comme celle ci, je n'ai quune chose a dire fuyez!!!

Lots of Potential, but no motivation to reach it!
The property is very neglected and needs attention. The WIFI offered at the hotel is worthless. If you are a business person and need to conduct business using the service at the hotel, you can forget that. Opening personal email was not successful. The hotel was mostly empty, but we were put in a room where the sink in the bathroom, had a huge crack in it. The crack was not even sealed and was dangerous. There was no toilet brush. The drains smelled. The ventilation system was confusing, no manual and the fan system made a lot of noise, and yet there was no air. This is a three star hotel being managed at the level of a 1 star. Because you have a restaurant, pool and sauna does not justify your level of excellence, but by the care and consideration you take care of your environment. The Management needs to seriously look at the customer service and consider how to make each customer's stay optimal. Would it be so difficult to have moved us into a room where everything worked? Does the staff know which rooms are complete? Letting the customer know that you are putting them in a room that is better would make a difference to anyone. We booked a comfort room, but in retrospect as I look at the photos we were placed in the a standard room. The lack of attention, training and consideration of making your experience comfortable is really the only responsibility of the hotel. My recommendation is look elsewhere.

Extreamlly dirty room with old dirty bathroom seal that only costs 5 euros to replace...dirty toilet with scale on...sink was blocked and retaining water for several hours.Room smelled of bio when I walked in...Painting peeling off the walls.Overall management of this hotel that charges 90 euro per night are only interstead of making money and dont care about the state of the rooms.Absoulutly disgusting experienceManagement if you get a chance to read this walk into room 006 and see if you would like to stay there 1 night

I would have preferred to be there in a warmer season because i think the property has more to offer. It's a nice and quiet place. I was there on business working long hours during the day so at night i would have appreciated a microwave in my room or access to one in the lobby. There was not much diversity in the bar offer, i think this more culture related, the time i went out to eat and drink i found out it was the same elsewhere.But i would return to that hotel i liked it.

The room was not clean to my standards. There were stains in the carpet. The bathroom was dirty. The sink had brown rings around it the shower was decomposing. The drain on the shower was filthy and the water would not drain properly. There were bugs in the room. The refrigerator did not work and the bottom piece to the shower was sitting on the seat inside the shower. This room was definitely not a comfort room which I reserved and there was also water damage in the corner of the room in the ceiling and on the wall. Cracks were seaming from the water damage. It was a horrible place and I checked out the next morning.

It was by far one of the worst places I have stayed in. I felt so unclean and it was filthy.
There were stains on the carpet the bedding and the sink.
I refused the first room and felt I definitely didn’t have any option but to take the 2nd room as hotels.com had messed up my booking in a previous hotel and as I was travelling alone and it had got dark I felt too afraid to travel to another hotel .

Perfect for an overnight stop

Loved it! It was clean and simple but had everything I needed for an overnight stop. I would definitely go back when near here again. If I had to search for a criticism it would be that the pool was very cold, but hey ho, it was refreshing!

Smelly (terrible drain smell immediately outside main door), noisy (thin walls), not terribly clean and lots of holes in walls and jobs half finished. Breakfast was very poor for the 13 Euro charged - would have felt cheated for half that amount for what we recieved.

Sufficient for work, but your wife would complain.

Hotel is certainly value for money. Room was large, clean, decent shower etc. Unfortunately, it was freezing cold and try as I might, I could not get the thermostat to trigger any warmth. Outside, there was an ‘unfortunate’ smell from the drains. Had a burger from the restaurant- average food, €18 price tag...

Loved the staff, loved the location. Workmanship on drywall, fixture installation and lighting was sub-par, creating dampness issues. Environmentally-friendly concept appreciated too.

Hotel still being renovated

Smelly bathroom, dusty room, hotel still being renovated without being warned. Still paying full price even under those poor conditions.

interesting view upon turning up

from booking the hotel and viewing the direct website, no where said we’d be turning up to a construction site but hotel still running as normal. fir what waa offered for breakfast and its refecting price was shocking when told.

Where do I begin?
The smell...raw sewage should not be the first thing you experience when entering a hotel...the smell was everywhere.
Ongoing construction on the hotel makes for some loud sounds at early hours.
When first entering the room, spider webs in corners, empty shower toiletries, broken refrigerator.
Air conditioning that was installed on the wall doesn't work. Was told by the front desk that they had failed to work since they were installed. Had to borrow a fan from a friend on one of the hottest weeks on record.
TINY SHOWER! had to turn sideways and squeeze into it as the doors only open about 1 foot on a corner. Not at all ideal.
No sound suppression. Room walls are very thin.
Very small pool on site that was a welcome site on those hot days.
Parking was free but not secure.
Wi-Fi was abysmal. Never held a signal in my room. Couldn't stream any shows or movies let alone surf fb or any news sites.

Hotel is under major refurbishment, when we arrived there was hammer drilling going on three rooms along the corridor, the entire hotel looks like a building site, the picture must be an artists impression! Old pallets thrown out the back in the undergrowth along with building materials scattered around and in plain view from the bedroom windiws.. 31 deg C outside temp and No Air Conditioning in the whole building hardly slept. No discount offered or given when I complained when checking out. At 94 Euro a night for a superior room don't bother.

Loved the backdrop of solid green trees. We are gardeners and love the outdoors. Just lovely location. The restaurant was quite accommodating for our late arrival and the food was quite nice. The bed was dense foam and VERY comfortable. We were not bothered in the least by the construction in the back of the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Convenient location for work with NATO Base

The workers are very professional and nice. Breakfast is good, but pricey at 13 euro. I was only in hotel for 10 hours, arriving late and checking out early for work, but have no complaints. Quiet enough to sleep. Best is the proximity to HQ SHAPE base.
