The hallway was filthy and that was an immediate turn off, the room itself was fine, king bed, more modern but walking to our room in that hallway where the carpet was stained, food all over it, the lobby and non-existent restaurant was also very uninviting. You will definitely hear every truck, car 18 wheeler driving on that busy road that leads to and from Ouray. For one night it was okay but I can see why it was not busy. Also restaurants in Ridgway close by 8:30.

Property was nicely located as a base to both Telluride and Ouray. Also very convenient to downtown Ridgway. Hotel restaurant was closed while we were there. Coffee was provided. Room was very sparsely furnished with very limited table or counter space. Lighting was noticeably poor. Enjoyed the sitting area and the views outside.

Staff were helpful & friendly but room was a letdown. Sheets & bedding looked like they had been crammed away somewhere. Very wrinkled. Found a wet washcloth behind the bathroom door, desk & bedside table both had sticky rings on them & quite a bit of dust.

This has always been a great place to stay. This time, the room was a little less tidy than usual. It didn't look or feel like the floor had been cleaned and it was rather dusty. I'm sure it was just a slight overlook as this property has been very clean on a previous stay. Other than that, it was a excellent stay!

Just my feelings.

We were disappointed that our room was not serviced, but we caught a staff person who got us clean towels . Stains on hallway rug. And shower was very slippery and they did not provide safety mat.

Towels were very soft and fluffy. Check in was easy as well as check out.

The special touch of doggie bowls, treats and poop bags was a VERY nice touch.

And a room that had windows that opened was a great.

This was a great place to stay within a beautiful, very reasonable drive to Telluride. We ate at 66 Eatery nearby which was really cool and yummy! I really appreciated the hooks on the wall and full sized mirror in the room at this lodge, along with the reading lamps attached near the bed. These extra touches were really nice and came in handy and is not something you see all the time at hotels.

The hotel itself was wonderful but with being there Labor Day weekend we had quite a few Rowdy Neighbors and the walls are a little thin. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay, it wss clean, and the price was very reasonable. We really liked that it was located at the edge of town and easy access to Ouray!

When we arrived the fire alarm was going off in the restaurant. Since that area doubles as check in it was loud. The staff person that approached us was not welcoming and couldn’t check us in. Finally then registration person came but she was so flustered about the alarm which had been going off for about an hour at this point. We had already paid and it was after 8pm so there was no other option for us. Fortunately the alarm stopped about an hour later. Glad it was only for one night. I’m sure it’s adequate for a stopover stay.

Booked extra night using hotels com, spoke to the front desk and they said it everything was good and I was ready for the second night. Got ready that day and headed out to hike didn’t get back till 11 PM. My room was locked and the key didn’t work there are no local hotels available. I had to drive over a half an hour and pay another hundred and something for another room. All my clothes and everything was locked in the room. I returned the next day and they said they would refund me because I couldn’t access my room. They said the refund was processed but of course nothing shows up on my hotels.com and the hotel is refusing a refund supposedly according to hotels.com so someone lied. What kind of hotel has no one after 10pm and no emergency line? Would never recommend staying here room could’ve been cleaner. It was modern and in decent shape, but the toilet wasn’t cleaned when I got in there.

Great place to stay when enjoying Ridgway, Ouray, and the San Juan Mountains. We biked, hiked, kayaked, and soaked. Rooms are fine - but expect to relax with your feet up in bed. The only other chair in the room was a small desk chair. Really loved the up/ down black out blinds! No breakfast at the hotel, so plan ahead! Really enjoyed Colorado Boy Pizza in Ridgway!

Perfect!

We wanted to extend our trip to Ouray and found this awesome gem in Ridgway and fell in love! Even though this hotel is dog friendly, you’d never guess it from the tidiness of the grounds and rooms. It’s probably one of the most immaculate hotels I have stayed in. Super clean, spacious and has lots of character. Wish I would have brought my dog!

Mountain Lodge Ridgway Disappointing

First room, the TV didn’t work, had to move to another room.
The bathroom was an awkward design. It was hard to get in the door, there was hardly any room between the door & the sink. There was no place to put your toiletries except on the back of the toilet (not ideal). The shower was very narrow & shower floor was slippery. There was very little clearance between the toilet and shower door.
It was disappointing there was no pastry to go with the coffee, only oranges.
Carpet on first floor by door to rooms was full of stains and the carpet smelled.

The only thing I was dissapointed in was that there was no breakfast to speak of- there were no burritos available at 8-8;30 and all that was available were a few sandwiches and muffins. I had to go the gas station to get something with protein! egg sandwich.....Thanks

The field on the south side of the motel was lovely. I enjoyed my morning coffee out there in the adirondack chairs, as well as a glass of wine in the evenings at the restaurant that overlooked the fields. Beauriful views looking sourh towards Ouray, altho there was a lot of settled smoke in the mornings due to the surrounding fires.
Lots of families stayed there which made me feel comfortable and safe. The one suggestion I made to the front staff was to add some rugs on the floors. They installed vinyl wooden floors which are gorgeous with the modern mountain decor, but they are cold in the mornings. Some runners between the 2 beds and at the foot of the beds would help. The beds were super comfy and I had a nice view of some fields from the 2nd story looking east. The location was super convebient to both Ridgway and Ouray. I will def stay there again.

Biggest issue we had was how incredibly noisy it was... noise from slamming doors to drunk people in the hall way in the middle of the night to road traffic to appliances making alot of noise throughout the night... didn't get alot of good sleep

Staff is very friendly, but there are some areas that could be improved: 1) Only one fruit choice for all 4 days we stayed; 2) It would be better to put guests with dogs on the first floor. The last night of our stay, the guests above us made a lot of noise, sounded like big dog running. 3) I requested a quiet room, but we got a room right next to the exit, so got woken up very early from the noise of door opening. Maybe some insulation can be added? 4) We also lost our bag of dirty clothes packed separately from the clean ones. We put in the hotel room before we went out that day but couldn't find it after we got back. Not sure what happened.

Pros: Overall an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable stay, we liked the ice and water machine. The outside lawn with adirondack chairs was very nice, very relaxing to wind down the day here.
Cons: Bathroom was not clean. There were hairs scattered around. Bathroom was comically small. The shelf with shampoo/body wash in the shower was not sturdy, so we had to be careful. Housekeeping was confusing, they brought extra towels one day for no apparent reason, and never made beds. Not sure if housekeeping was supposed to happen. A little shabby in the decor and upkeep. Wifi dropped out frequently. A coffee or juice station or fruit in the morning would be a nice addition. They had some kind of coffee bar set up, but I never saw it used or in service. Kind of pointless. Staff was neutral.

This was the best hotel we stayed at our entire trip! It was very nice, the room was wonderful and clean, the bathroom was extra nice and clean. There’s a big tv in the room, but the remote from a neighboring room would change our tv, so that was a tad annoying. There is no breakfast included or a fitness center.

Not what I expected for the price.

Room had been remodeled and appeared clean but there were lots of hairs in the shower stall. The carpets outside the room in the hallways was stained and outdated/worn. For the price you would expect a complimentary breakfast but there was none. The website states that there are breakfast items to purchase but that was not the case, either. There were so many flies in the restaurant area. There was a very nice open grassy area to enjoy the view in the evening, however.

I have stayed here many years. I think it is overpriced, but you pay for location.
The first room I was given had a dog water bowl in it. I requested a non-pet room. I was told it was a non-pet room, but I felt my allergy kicking in a little, so I had them move me.
In my room was hair conditioner rather than hand lotion on the sink. I got it exchanged.
I sat on the edge of the bed I was using and it broke.
I could hear everything through the connecting door to the next room and out the front door to the hall.
Not an ideal experience, but it served its purpose.
They used to have some kind of fruit when you checked out, but not this year.
