Small room and parking lot. Great location.
Ron
A friendly center of town accommodation within walking distance of virtually everything. Nice patio to sit out and enjoy the evenings. Free breakfast pass given to great Mexican restaurant down the street. Have now stayed here at least 6 times and feel very at home here!
Kim
Great!
Donna
The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the included breakfast at a Mexican restaurant 1 block away from the hotel.
Greg
Good location. Within walking distance to everything.
Walter
Our two day stay was excellent! Special thanks to the wonderfu desk staff and room attendant ls. The breakfast was terrific. We pray for your safety in light of the fire precautions. 🙏
Rolando
Have stayed here on all of my visits to Ouray. Great owner's and staff. Property is kepted in top notch condition. The location is great walking distance to shopping, bars, coffee and restaurants.
Mike
The Matterhorn in Ouray Colo. is a well maintained clean old motel. All goodies were in the room, micro, refrigerator, ice close, and plenty, TV a little hard to figure out, w/ direct TV, but OK. Didn't try the hot tub, we went down to to mineral springs in town, highly recommend it. The hitch is the breakfast provided @ a nearby local Mexican restaurant, which true to form, English is a second language, and not understood. There were no provisions made for food allergies, eggs, corn. If one has allergies they are forced to order from the menu, so no free breakfast, for those w/ allergies. Also don't order the ham sandwich, unless you like Spam.
My biggest complaint was the price, paid for the room. I know It's height of the tourist season, but over $300 a night for an older refurbished nice room. It was just too much $ for that room. It was just overpriced.

The coupon for breakfast at Mi Mexico was awesome, one of the best breakfasts we’ve had so far. The hotel is clean and comfortable, but the air conditioner didn’t work properly in our room, and some of the amenities were a little low, but we only had a one night stay and the bed was comfortable for sleeping in the room was quiet. Also, our room was on the second floor and no elevator, this might be a concern for those elder or any mobility issues
Annette
Great spot just off Main Street. Quiet and clean. We will stay here again!
Patricia
Only stayed one night but room was perfect. Bed and pillows were awesome. Best sleep I’d had in 5 nights. Complimentary breakfast at a restaurant in town was delicious and a nice surprise. Reasonable prices. Would highly recommend.
Sherri
The Matterhorn in is perfectly located in town. Everything is an easy 5-10 min walk. The Inn is immaculate . Service is the best!
I had a very late arrival and the office staff made sure I arrived safe and able to get into my room effortlessly.
Highly recommend!!

Very lovely hotel! Friendly staff. Room not huge but very clean and neat.
Located in the heart of it all - easy walking to everything - but right behind the main drag as to be very quiet - great bakery & coffee shops (and restaurants) just steps away!

Family friendly, cleanliness and location
David
Wonderful place to stay. Really enjoyed it. It was pricey. The most expensive place we stayed at out of the 9 places we stayed at on our trip.
David
Very nice place and friendly staff. Enjoyed the walkable location convenient to nearly anywhere in beautiful Ouray. Sitting in the hot tub and looking at the awesome mountains was wonderful.
Debra
Room was very comfortable and clean.
Melissa
Loved everything about the Matterhorn, will be staying there again!
Ron
Fun watching an occasional deer come through, and a bear that found some peaches in an open bed truck nearby. Quiet patio to share a drink on at evening time.
Rosemary
Thank you. Loved the breakfast voucher and walk ability to downtown. Rooms with two queen are a little tight.
Pedro
Great location. Comfortable and generally good. No complaints.
Sandra
They gave us a voucher for breakfast at a great Mexican food restaurant. The food and service were great and we could choose from 5 different options on the menu. Shopping and other restaurants were walkable. Great place to stay.
Roch
Colorado trip 2025
Hotel was clean. Front desk people, I assume the owners, were very nice and welcoming. Just a half block from downtown where all the action is.
Maud
Staff very nice. Location is very good. Breakfast place is delicious.
Frederick
The breakfast option is TERRIBLE and the Matterhorn should no longer use Mi Mexico to provide breakfast.
Both times we ate there, the staff were rude as hell and service sucked. For breakfast, my son was served uncooked eggs when he ordered over easy and my chorizo con huevos was only chorizo, not a damn egg on the plate.
If not for this food experience, review for Matterhorn would likely be higher.

The people at the front desk were a little shady. Guests receive breakfast coupons the day before that can be used at a local restaurant. The first day we did not use ours. I went in later that day and asked if we could receive four instead for the following day. We were told no and they were adamant that we return the prior day coupons.
Mary
I think its against the law to refuse certified service dogs
Julia
Worked with us great on late reservation after a long day
Debbie
Front desk person was very nice and helpful
John
Friendly staff - great location - comfortable spacious room. Enjoyed the deck area to relax in the evening. Would definitely stay again!
Jo-Anne
Perfectly fine hotel, but nothing fancy or unique.
Noah
Nice outside common area for relaxing. Very clean. Rooms were quite cramped but the bed was comfortable. I also wonder if indirect reservations (e.g., through Expedia) get less desirable rooms. Our room was down a dark exterior hallway and our view was of the hallway wall. Just about every other room at the hotel had great views of the surrounding mountains. That was very disappointing given that we reserved it over a month in advance.
Raymond
Overall it was a really enjoyable stay at the Matterhorn. It was quiet, the rooms were clean and well appointed, and there were plenty of great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The only thing I think prospective visitors need to know is that while it is a resort town, it looked like there was only one bar open past 10pm. All the other shops/restaurants close around 9pm or so. Other than that, the stay was amazing and the mountain views were absolutely stunning!
Rhonda
Room was small, but clean. My biggest complaint is the breakfast. You receive a coupon to a mexican restaurant. I would have preferred a continental breakfast over the coupon, or at least offer coupons to various restaurants.
Don
Great location less than a block off the main street. Good parking, clean! Only downside is our room was quite small including the bathroom.
Thomas
Terrific location, great breakfast, and exceptionally friendly staff. WE would certainly stay there again.
Ryan
Good. Clean, great location.
Julie
Breakfast was great. Location was perfect. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good!
Jan
The air conditioning units are loud. Our room had was across from another room, so double the noise. I didn’t realize until evening after we were unpacked and too inconvenient to ask to move
Charles
Loved everything about it. Friendly staff. Our friends left a book behind and Jeremy was good enough to mail it. Thanks for a great stay!
Charles
The included breakfast was at a nearby restaurant. Much better than the usual on-site offerings.
Mike
Nice place, very clean. Over priced. If on 2nd or 3rd floor no elevator.
catherine
Wonderful. Everyone was friendly

Fantastic
Michael
Room and bathroom very clean and well maintained.
Room rather small if staying more than a few days. However, there is a group seating area with hot tub.
Breakfast is included at a nearby restaurant, Mi Mexico, that we found to be quite satisfactory.

Great for a couple staying one night
Very charming place! Room was small but just fine for our one night stay. We had a wonderful dinner at the bar of the the Roosevelt Tavern which is one block away—highly recommend!! Get the Mississippi Slammer! So much character in Ouray!
Courtney
Wonderful stay with top notch customer service. Very very clean with updated bathroom and comfortable bed. Only recommendation is to enable streaming service with customer account or casting from own device onto TV. Still 10/10 experience and I would definitely stay here again.
Kay
Quality hotel at a good price in a beautiful location.
Emma
Very clean. Friendly staff.
Bryan
It seems like new ownership or a complete do-over. Everything is new and clean, and the rooms are very relaxing and comfortable. We will stay again. The price points are excellent compared to other options!
Madison
Very nice staff and rooms were updated and very nice. Small but just what you need.

Respite when skiing in Telluride
A very pleasant stay, the location was great! The owners/hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was individually packaged due to the slow season of the hotel and was very good.
Aliphia
The staff was rather reserved and didnt seem friendly or welcoming at all. The hotel itself is very convenient to stay.
Lauren
Some of the steps were icy due to the weather conditions, but the staff was more than friendly and accomodating.
Krystal
Very large suite type room , clean average size bathroom. Unfortunately the hot tub is only open till 9 pm.
Miguel
the location of the property was excellent. We were within walking distance to the center of town and all of the shops and restaurants in the area. Ouray and the Matterhorn are hidden gems!
Pamela
