I liked the style of the house and the decorations. I loved the concept of eating breakfast at the dinner table with other guests. My only complaint was that we did not know how to get tv stations on our nice TV. The instructions on the tv were not helpful. It was the inn keeper’s day off. We were given instructions on how to contact her if there were any problems, which we decided not to do.

We loved our stay at the China Clipper. So close to everything and it's tough to beat the setting. Kristin is a wonderful host and the breakfasts each morning were spot on and delicious. The room didn't have a view and was a bit spartan, but very comfortable. Nobody ever used the hot tub and being that it was shoulder season, it wasn't terribly busy. We would most certainly stay again.

I was traveling on my own for a couple of days of rest from family life. It was wonderful to stay in a place that really felt personal and like being in a comfortable house. Without any of the work!

No dislikes. The owners are a wonderful couple who manage and fulfil their guests needs. Breakfasts are delicious (one of the owners is a chef). The hotel is magnificently decorated and well taken care of. The rooms are exceptionally clean but also luxurious and air conditioned ( a big plus for mountain town lodging). The shower is a full showerhead with plenty of hot water. The towels are thick, white and soft. The surrounding landscape is quietly elegant and parking is plentiful. They also do special events. What more could a guest ask for?

An overnight stay at the Clipper was incredible. What a little piece of paradise. From sitting on the front porch reading a book to a nightcap by the hot tub. I would highly recommend this jewel. The breakfast was also exceptional.

The place itself is very nice and well kept inside. The furnishings wee lovely and the sitting area with the library was very cozy. However, the steep stairs to the entrance were ice covered and treacherous. The handrail was covered in three inches of snow. The parking area around the property was not cleared of snow. I know it's Ouray in the winter, but the stairs were literally an accident waiting to happen. Dragging a suitcase or overnight bag through the snow was annoying. It wouldn't have taken much effort to clear the snow and ice from the stairs or around the parking area. The mattress is in need of replacement too - sags to the middle of the bed.

The China Clipper Inn is a beautiful property. Our room (Starlight) was large, comfortable and well appointed. The antique furnishings, including a four post king size bed and sitting area were charming and comfortable. Our room had double sinks, a whirlpool soaking tub, and large walk-in shower. Silky soft robes and towels were available for the hot tub, which is outside on the back veranda. In the common area, there is a sitting room with a fireplace, which was lit on the chilly mornings. It was certainly a draw for the more social guests and many people ate breakfast in there. The dining room is bright and welcoming. Breakfasts were excellent! The Inn is in walking distance from downtown.
A warning, there are stairs! There is no elevator in this property. We were able to manage the stairs and it made me think I need to be doing more stairs on a regular basis (pant, pant)!

The managers live on the property and, although new to this property, have extensive experience in B&B management. Judging by the look of the motels in the area, this would appear to be a top choice. We were very happy with our stay. The one concern is the front steps, which are steep and a potential safety issue.

(Quiche, biscuits w/sausage gravy, bacon and eggs with banana bread, and always fresh fruit) The staff was welcoming and helpful. The extra plugs/charging stations at each bedside were extremely thoughtful!

China Clipper Inn is a fantastic B&B that we thoroughly enjoyed. It was clean, the owners were super charming and nice, and our room was spotless. We felt totally at home and enjoyed chatting with the other couples staying. There were several other young couples like us staying, it was awesome to make some new friends. One small inconvenience was that in the Shooting Star room, a porch light was shining into my room all night through the glass in the door. Either turning that light off at night or providing blinds on the door to block out the light.

The China Clipper Inn was the perfect choice for our two night stay in Ouray. It is a lovely BnB located within walking distance to everythig in the town. Melissa and Charlie are the perfect hosts and their Inn is immaculately clean and comfortable. Melissa serves cookies and coffee/tea in the afternoon and a hot, homemade breakfast in the morning. Their restrictions on pets and children under 12 result in a quiet and restful ambiance during your stay. The inn itself looks \"old\" but was actually built in the 90s. The result is the beautiful look of a Victorian building with no creaking floors and well insulated walls that guarantee a good night's sleep. Staying at the inn will enhance your experience in beautiful Ouray.

The home is spacious and filled with lovely antiques and chandeliers. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a huge whirlpool tub as well as a separate shower with all new fixtures. There is a hot tub out back. Breakfast is good, friendly, communal. The hosts patiently answer questions about the town or just chat. There are many small amenities like robes and lots of electric outlets, a small fridge, coffee maker in the room, snacks in the afternoon and many areas in the house for relaxing. We loved the town with its magnificent mountain peaks, hiking and climbing and a municipal hot springs. There were several good restaurants and stores within walking distance. We wold be happy to return when we can and stay at the China Clipper.

This was our 2nd stay at China Clipper Inn and both times were excellent. The first time we stayed in the biggest room which is the Captains Quarters. It was wonderful in all ways! Big room, big bed, wonderful bathtub/shower, fabulous view including a private veranda. This time we stayed in a smaller room but it was still wonderful. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room this time. Breakfast is delicious! Melissa and Charlie make you feel so welcome! It's a huge treat to stay here. Don't miss out! We walked into town to enjoy dinner. SO much to do and enjoy in Ouray!
