We would not recommend staying at the Royal Victorian Motel. It's a given that you're going to pay premium prices for a place so close to Olympic National Park. However, for $230 per night, we expect a clean room and for things to work. On the first night, we discovered that the shower wasn't working and it was too late to call someone to come and fix it. The next day, we informed the front desk and he said that the spout jams easily. He came up and \"fixed\" it by jamming the spout into the shower position. Now, it's clear that he knew this was a problem before, but didn't bother to fix it before we arrived. And now, the next guest will be stuck with the same problem since the spout wasn't replaced.

The next problem was the curtain. It really needs to be replaced since there's so much sunlight during the summer months that it's difficult to get a good night's sleep with old curtains that let the light in.

Finally, as a farewell to our stay, my wife was bitten by a spider during the night, At first, we suspected bed bugs, but the bite was much to big to have been a bed bug.

Do yourself a favor and stay at a chain motel like Quality Inn.

The mattress was comfortable and there was hot water for the shower. The location was good to see the national park.
However, there was no coffee pot in the room and when asked about it, the front desk was supposed to bring it, but never did. The light on the night stand wasn’t working and neither was the outlet. There was also a pair of socks left behind from a prior guest behind a chair.

So at some point the bathroom door was kicked in on our room and there is no way for the door to actually stay closed. So we had to was up some towels and shove them in the crack just for a little privacy. Apparently they didn’t think this was something that needed to be fixed.

Parking and location were great. This place has potential, just needs some love. Looks like they are working on it. The bed was very comfortable and AC and WiFi worked well. No bad odors or anything and the outdoor areas are clean. However the curtain was torn and let light through, the carpet and floors/grout were dirty so that we did not go barefoot inside. That said, we did not complain as we were only there at night to sleep. Mgmt was nice enough to lend us a patio chair so hubby could sit outside for smoke. Like I said just needs some love, and new curtains. Try the nearby Cloudy Bay Bakery for delish donuts and coffee.

Very disappointed with our stay. I obviously wasn't expecting a five star hotel but I did expect it to be clean and for things to work. The toilet did not flush. I had to manually use the ice bucket to refill water in the back tank. The tv stopped working late at night and never came back. The light switch for the light above the sink didnt work. Lastly I woke up and found a couple critters in the bed. Loved that!

We did not have a good experience at this motel. It took 5 different trips back to the office to get the key card to open the door. The desk clerk finally reset the lock for it to work. Stepping into the room I was overpowered by the awful smell. It was unacceptable. I asked to cancel the reservation, but it was non refundable. I was offered a different room. The smell was not as bad, and as it was getting late, we just made due. The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed because the door jamb was broken, like the door had been kicked in. At least the bed was ok. We stayed in 5 different properties during this road trip and the other 4 were great. The pictures on Expedia made this place look much better than it actually is. Lesson learned.

We booked in for a quick overnight before catching the ferry. I tried to contact the property several times to get a room change or add a cot to our room. My calls and messages were never returned. When we arrive at 9:30, half an hour before closing, the office was closed. I called and they had left our key in a box but didn’t even know about my messages. We made it work (my one son slept on a hard couch that folded open like a futon but was incredibly stiff with a metal bar along the middle.

Cleanliness was superficial. New paint but lots of dings. The AC unit dusty and I did not dare turn it on. The bathroom had no lock and was missing a cupboard handle. The freezer was full of frost and unusable.
The headboard of the bed was covered in dust. But the worst part was waking up wlamd finding hairs in the bed (black…. My husband is bald and my hair is red) and also a few ants around. Overall I would not stay here again. It’s a dive.

I needed an afordable clean, safe, last minute stay when I had to stay in town to help a sick relative. The staff were friendly and caring, and I had everything I needed. The road noise might have bothered me, but I sleep with earplugs no matter where I sleep, so I was fine.

I don’t think this property welcomed pets. The room was clean, no bedbugs or anything. However it is a bit dated and the TV in our room wasn’t working. So we didn’t watch any movies or shows on our trip. If you want to save money and have a clean place to sleep I would recommend this. It is an older property and there was some wear and tear in the rooms and bit of black mold growing behind the toilet. It wasn’t the best hotel but it wasn’t the worst either, my sister and I made it work.

Too many failures to list. Nice staff when they were around, drink machine wouldn't work, couldn't get ice. Office closed by 8pm, no one around. There were some upgrades like high toilets, but water in sinks barely better than a trickle. The property is quite old and out of date, no elevator to second floor. It wasn't at all like advertising depicted in pictures. can't recommend this place.

Perfect stop for a night on my way to Olympic National Park. Check-in was quick and friendly, the room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had strong water pressure. Parking right by the door made unloading easy. Wi-Fi was stable and fast enough for work. The location is great for an early ferry or park start, with coffee and restaurants a short walk away. Quiet at night and felt safe. Excellent value for the price. I would happily stay here again.

The door to our room had about an inch gap- it did not run all the way to the floor. We had to stuff rolled up towels on the floor so creepy crawlers and cold air didn’t come in. We were in second floor. We are not complainers so we dealt with it but hopefully can be fixed for other guests.

The carpet was very dirty, felt sticky, probably original to the building. The bedspread looked like it had been used for 30 years, worn and dirty feeling, we took it off the bed right away. No places in the bathroom to put your clothes while you took a shower, not even a hook on the door. While showering we stood in 4-6\" of water that did not drain properly. The water in the sink faucet barely trickled out. Everything in the room was worn looking. One positive review was the the bed was pretty comfy, slept good. But I would not stay here again and would not recommend. Paid over $300 on Expedia to stay for 2 nights. The pictures on the website definitely looked better than the motel did in person. Would be stretching to give it a one star review.

Overall a decent stay. Stairs were a little tough, for those who have any difficulties with stairs get a ground floor room. Our fridge was turned down low so the freezer defrosted causing water all over the place that we had to clean up on getting there (office was already closed). Room was comfortable, water was hot with great water pressure, located near everything we wanted to do.

I stayed at this motel while visiting Olympic NP. One thing I appreciated about this location was the local restaurant listing they provided. It was also very close (10 minutes) to Hurricane Ridge. There are many dining options within 1-5 miles so you can't go wrong.

First of all, the young lady who checked us in was attentive and polite. No complaints there.
No safety in parking lot Someone slashed my tire overnight adding $340 to my trip cost.
Strong mildew smell they had clearly tried to cover up with bleach.
Everything was relatively clean but floor was gross. Also the bathroom has mold in the bath tub. The coffee maker water tank had no lid so it was gross inside.
It is located next to a partially abandoned apartment building.

the room was pretty unclean, had to ask for new sheets because there were dirt paw prints on my first set. They handed them to me and I changed them myself. Second set were scuffed and stained. Dead flys, broken chair. What really disgusted me was there was a washcloth that wasn’t from our stay still hanging from the shower curtain. It was a night of sleep in a nice town but wow I would not stay there again.

Motel room was adequate, but our room was noisy due to being right next to a main road. Lumber trucks started moving through town very early, like 3 or 4am. Room was clean, but dated. It did seem like they made some improvements, as the bathroom looked more up-to-date. Stay was just okay.

My feet were black after walking around the room. Hotel needs to shampoo the carpet and ensure that the hard floors around the bathroom are mopped.

This a solid 3 star motel. Had to wait for someone to show up at the front desk for about 10mins. She was nice but not dressed professionally. The bed was fairly comfortable and the AC was cold. But there were long hairs in the shower and there was something wrong with the tv screen.
I traveled with 2 dogs and was charged $25/dog but then had signs saying to take dogs off the property to go to the bathroom. Very odd.
