The hotel was clean and welcoming and the husband and wife team were friendly.
It's in a lovely location and within 5 minutes we were deep in Anagach Wood which is a dog walker's paradise! The longest loop is about 2.5 hours but plenty of shorter options.

Staff, esp Simon at the reception, we're very friendly and helpful. We traveled using our own car, so not sure about accessibility by public transportation, but this hotel is very close to Grantown high street.

The Speyside Hotel is a lovely period hotel that has been modernised. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Grantown-On-Spey and going on walks. The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food on offer is exquisite especially the venison pie. I highly recommend dining solely at the hotel. The hotel is truly a dog friendly hotel. Our golden retriever was welcome in the foyer, bar, dining room and of course our room. He was able to sit beside us at breakfast and dinner where he was served with a cooked sausage which he loved. Thank you for a fantastic stay!

Lovely hotel with very nice rooms and good quality linens etc. Close to the Main Street in Grantown-On-Spey on Spey. Food was amazing, I had the venison pie which was superb and the breakfast was very good. Only downside was the restaurant/bar seemed a bit understaffed and so was a bit slow. Highly recommended.

We stayed for one night after visiting Landmark.
This hotel was ideal for our needs. It was only a short walk from the town centre and a decent selection of shops and restaurants.
There wasn't much for the kids, 11 and 12 years, but there were a few board games in the bar area.
The restaurant menus were limited, especially for the kids, but what we had was good if not exceptional. The kids portions were very small - we had to share our meals with them, and these are two small skinny kids! But they did get a very nice helping of ice cream included in the price. Restaurant service was a little slow - kids almost finished their meal by time we were served - but it was quite busy. The bar had a decent range of drinks but only one draught beer - Peroni. Wine was again pricey.
However, breakfast was very comprehensive and tatsy which set us up for the rest of the day.
The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had a large bathroom with separate shower. Nice towels and toileteries.
Overall, good vlaue for a nice room, but I felt the restaurant and bar prices were high for what was served although quality was good. We'd definitely stay again but would probably consider eating outside if staying more than one night.

The kids portions were very small - we had to share our meals with them, and these are two small skinny kids! But they did get a very nice helping of ice cream included in the price. Restaurant service was a little slow - kids almost finished their meal by time we were served - but it was quite busy. The bar had a decent range of drinks but only one draught beer - Peroni. Wine was again pricey.
However, breakfast was very comprehensive and tatsy which set us up for the rest of the day.
The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had a large bathroom with separate shower. Nice towels and toileteries.
Overall, good vlaue for a nice room, but I felt the restaurant and bar prices were high for what was served although quality was good. We'd definitely stay again but would probably consider eating outside if staying more than one night.

A lovely, independently-run hotel in a beautiful part of Scotland. It is clearly a labour of love for the owners, as all parts of the place were clean, well-presented and full of nice touches. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, and the food was excellent; be sure to book for dinner as the dining room was full by 7.30pm, with a full menu using local ingredients produced by one of the proprietors. Even the bar was great, with a wide choice of whisky and gins. Highly recommended.

Based on the average reviews, I was expecting better. The hotel didn't seem structurally sound. The walls in our room/bathroom had cracks in them, some which had be plastered over and some that hadn't. The floor was sloped and it felt like there were holes under the carpet. The shower had black mold and the tiles were cracked in multiple places. The mattress felt like it was very old but we were both able to sleep. I did like the wall paper in our room.

My husband, daughter and I (along with our dog) stayed for 2 nights for our visit to Landmark Forest Adventure Park. The hotel is quiet and cozy, with an inviting bar room w/ a fireplace and comfy seating, and a lovely beer garden in the back(we got lucky with the sunshine!). Dinner in the restaurant was very good, and the breakfast each morning was superb. It's a short and pleasant walk to the center of Granton on Spey, which has some nice shops and restaurants. Overall we were very happy with our stay, and would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this beautiful part of the world.

We had a great stay for 3 nights, the staff are excellent very friendly and know their stuff. The camaraderie in the bar with the Staff and other guests was lovely, all sharing their day. Wide selection of whiskies and spirits. The food was excellent, even if you decide not to stay, go there and eat. For us the best food in Grantown, along with freshly cooked breakfasts, the Venison Pie and mussels were beautiful.

Disappointing hotel room
It was last minute therefore we got the last room. The owner said it was cosy. The size didn’t bother us. However the windows didn’t open. It was room 2. We had. I fresh air! It was 25°overnight with a fan that blew the hot air around. Totally unacceptable and it should not be used as a bedroom.

My husband and I spent two nights at this gem of a traditional country hotel while attending the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. Mark, the proprietor and his entire staff, could not have been more friendly, gracious and accommodating! Fabulous breakfasts and lovely public rooms including a cozy bar with fireplace seating. Bedroom spacious and comfortable. And we also attended a festival whisky pairing dinner at the hotel that was truly delicious created by Mark's wife who is the chef.
