The Craiglynne Hotel has a lovely exterior and attractive grounds, which gave us a positive first impression. Unfortunately, the inside of the hotel did not live up to that impression.

The property felt tired and not particularly well maintained. My room had extremely squeaky floors, and I could clearly hear movement from neighboring rooms, making it difficult to relax. My mother-in-law’s room had a broken shower door, and after we left, she mentioned that her bed sheets appeared dirty. Unfortunately, she didn’t bring it to the staff’s attention during our stay, so the issue was never addressed.

The hotel was also hosting several large tour buses during our visit. While that’s not necessarily a problem, the common areas were often crowded and noisy, which affected the overall atmosphere.

On the positive side, breakfast was decent, and dinner was acceptable, though neither stood out as particularly memorable.

Overall, the hotel has potential because of its location and attractive grounds, but the condition of the rooms, cleanliness concerns, and maintenance issues left us disappointed.

This is a good hotel for a stay in speyside. it is a good size with comfortable rooms with a good bathroom . The food in the restaurant was good and well cooked. My only real criticism is that I was disappointed there were no Scottish ales in the bar. There are plenty of good breweries in Scotland and it would be nice to see Scottish beers in the bar even if they were in bottles.

Arriving hot and thirsty at 16.00 on a Wednesday I was very disappointed to learn, after 5 minutes looking for a member of staff, that we couldn't order a drink to enjoy the beautiful front garden in the sun. 17.00 was opening time. Still, we could wait. Eventually it opened at 17.10. The bed in the room was very comfortable but the room was a little stuffy. I forgot to mention to the front desk that we had no TV controller in the room. We ate in the hotel. The food was delicious but much more expensive than I would have expected to pay, not great value for money but tasty enough not to complain. My wife and I ordered our choices and then waited. It was clear that if we wanted wine then I should go to the bar and order it myself, which was a shame as a bus load of people had arrived and the card machine wasn't working well. Eventually I returned to the table with the drinks to find out mains had been served. In the morning the shower was an issue. My wife couldn't get the shower hot enough but when I went 20 minutes later, I couldn't turn the temperature low enough without it scalding. In the end I gave up. The breakfast buffet was just fine, though a cheerful welcome would have been better than the deep sigh we got on prompt arrival at our time slot.

My bed - room 136 was absolutely awful...I could literally feel every coil/spring. When I say this I mean I could pass my hand over the bed and feel them...I weigh 116 lbs, not a heavy load. I had a terrible night was too uncomfortable to sleep for more than a hour at a time. We also waited for more than 5 minutes for hot water to reach our shower. Beautiful hotel to look at but sadly can not recommend.

Beautiful exterior and garden area, close to town. Unfortunately the 2nd floor room was hot enough to melt my recently purchased chocolate that was on the desk. Was about 80 to 85 degrees and there is no air-conditioning. The staff brought up a fan after multiple requests which we propped in the window that could only open about 6 inches. Contributing factors may have been the full hotel (and heat rising on a 60 degree day) or the exposed HOT to the touch pipe at the baseboards that went into the radiator (which was turned off). Rough night sleep where we debated sleeping in the lobby or going elsewhere about 10:30 PM.

It's a cheap hotel for the area and normally I'd accept that with all that it entails. My problem with the place was that despite having a restaurant they refused to make me a packed breakfast. I had to leave early every morning for work and they were \" unable\" to even make me a cheese sandwich. Rubbish.
And when the staff can't be bothered then things like heating stuck on, damp in the bathroom and the rooms being a bit tired start to matter. I hate leaving bad reviews as most people try their best. Not so the front of house staff here.

Our room was freezing with the main heater broken, so they setup a plugin heater which they hadn't turned on before we checked in. The hotel seems to be owned by someone who no longer cares - there was hair in the shower and on the bathroom wall, the fan in the bathroom didn't work, poor heating, moldy pillow, and the food was questionable at best. I wouldn't go back.

Lovely places to eat nearby. (We did not eat in hotel) Ben Mhor hotel, Grant arms, The Wee Puffin and The Garth Hotel.
Parking was interesting with no real car park but wasn't too busy so managed to find a space.

The staff were friendly and welcoming; however, this stay was far from perfect. The parking was an absolute nightmare, and the lack of lighting outside made it difficult to unpack in the dark. Self-parking was ineffective, as it allowed anyone to park anywhere, blocking through routes and making wheelchair access to the hotel nearly impossible.

On arrival, the bedroom door was unlocked and left wide open for anyone to walk in. The bins were full of rubbish, having not been emptied, and the bathroom was not cleaned to the standard one would expect, with hair of various kinds visible on the floor and cobwebs at high level.

This hotel has all the makings of a great experience. Leadership and responsibility need to be addressed to resolve the basic and fundamental issues that make all the difference to the guest experience.

Room only - 2 night stay. The room was quite small but clean and had a good ensuite shower room. Unfortunately the bed was rather firm for my liking and i found it quite difficult to get a good nights sleep on both nights. My partner suffers with arthritis in his hips but he does bring with him a supplementary mattress but still suffered with pain on sleeping. I would suggest that the mattresses in rooms are reviewed and possibly replaced.

The bed was terribly hard with wires poking in our backs. The pillows were not comfortable. The coach people in the hallways were extremely loud when we were trying to sleep. You could hear every word as there was no soundproofing at all. We could hear people talking loudly through the wall in the dining room in our bedroom late at night.The bartender was cranky and said he doesn’t make cocktails. You had to order whatever he had straight from the bottle. The breakfast offerings were decent.

Hole property needs brought into the 21st century, we paid for a superior room !! If that was the superior I’d hate to see the standard room, bed was rock solid , bathroom was a disgrace…dirty looking, broken and loose tiles on walls, dirty grout and silicone, no double glazing, no air con or even a fan, 14”tv, every floorboard made a loud creaking noise, the hotel inspector would have a field day with this place……bad bad bad !!!!

Arrived at night to find no parking available in the grounds, no designated car park, ended up parking up a side street, check in was fine, was told we were in the newer part of hotel so was very shocked to see the room, wouldn’t like to see the older part if this was new part. Was on ground floor with garden view but had a transit van parked outside, bathroom consisted on wash hand basin in the actual room with toilet and shower in a separate cupboard with sliding door which did not fully close and was dirty, if we had not been travelling all day and arrived at 10pm would have turned and left hotel. Breakfast was just ok.

The room we was given was not fitted with air conditioning, the only access to any kind of fresh air was through a window which had been modified so it would only open approximately 2 centimetres and the room was like being in a sauna.

We was not offered any alternative room or a fan to help with the very very very hot room!!!

As a result I will not be choosing this particular hotel next time I stay in the area and definitely won’t be recommending them to anyone either.

Clearly any refurbishment taking place had not been done on room 119 - in very poor condition, windows very dirty, curtains left in closed position to block out the view of the rooftops and gutters which were covered in pigeon poo and dirt, sheets didn’t quite fit the bed, mattress uncomfortable with springs causing discomfort, bathroom ceiling paint flaking off, paintwork very yellow, bathroom ceiling light cover broken and door did not close properly, drinks in the bar expensive.

We arrived early evening and managed to get a meal in the restaurant. It was lovely and the staff were also. But when we went up to our room it was a different matter. While the room was adequate and clean the bathroom was discussing! The shower was not just moldy but rusted out. There was a soap dish attached to the wall, right above a dirty rust one that was hanging loose. No toilet roll holder, you had to twist around to get that, and you had to pump the handle to get the toilet to flush. The shower curtain couldn't slide accross, the fan didn't work, the door wouldn't slide shut but did flap open at the bottom and the water heater went from freezing cold to dangerously searing hot in a blink of an eye. And the heater in the room didn't work. When we went down to express out disappointment the lady on reception was very apologetic but couldn't help as they were fully booked and told us to talk to the manager in the morning. Morning came and we spoke to the manager who quite frankly couldn't care less, he didn't apologise he just said that he couldn't move us because they were full. When we asked for a refund he fobbed us of and said you'll have to ask WotIf. He didn't even offer us a free breakfast, which by the way was also discussing and not up to the standard of the night before. We will nevwr stay at a Bespoke Hotel again!

Nobody on reception because she was serving in the bar. Big coach group in hotel, i imagine they are given the nice rooms if there are any as they would lose their main source of income if they all complained to their tour operator.

Breakfast is akin to what you'd get at a Hilton on most days. Bacon had seen better days but even the coffee machine did a decent latte.

Would certainly recommend. A solid 7 out of 10 and with a bit of investment it could be an 8 or 9.

So glad we stayed here instead of a beige chain at inverness airport.

Okay , yes the floors creak and its a bit old but the management and staff are fabulous. The hotel has a very welcoming feel about it . When I drove my car to the hotel with beautiful scenery on both sides, still wasn't sure I could find the hotel. Finally I've got to the destination. Surprised to see the traditional and wonderful hotel. If you trip to take public transportation, not easy to stay here. Room was very clean and quiet, but not enough warm. It was a bit cold in April in highland.

This hotel is terribly out dated the furniture in the lounge and bar were very dirty to stage your hands stuck to the arms of the chair. Decor was in shocking state paint falling off and some bits not painted. Everything was covered in finger prints doors and lift. Shower door wasn’t even on the rails and didn’t shut sink was cracked and the size of the tv was a chock. This place needs to be gutted out a start again.

Excellent value for money. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We had a little issue with our shower in the family room and they came to sort it straight away. Also dog friendly!
