This guesthouse was very clean and the rooms were newly renovated. There is no \"common area\" and the rooms are small but if you only need a place to sleep at night it's great. The rooms have their own private bathroom that is very clean. The location is in a residential neighborhood within the small town and is close to the hot springs. P.s. the hike to the river hot springs is about 1-1.5 hrs.
This is by no means a fancy hotel but a nice quaint place to stay.

This was a busy Saturday at the end of summer season. It was also a rainy night. I got the last room, late. I have been through Reykjadalur several times before and I like this whole area.

They did not have a breakfast, but they suggest another hotel which can accommodate breakfast as well as a bakery. I go with these endorsements.

It's a good value place to stay if you're doing a road trip or travelling through the area. Our room was comfortable enough but a bit dark and a bit too warm for our liking. Could have opened the window for some cool air but it was raining at the time! Will stay again though if we're in the area. It's an unattended property but we didn't need to contact anyone for assistance.

This is a basic hotel/hostel with no frills. PERFECT for travelers of Iceland given you are in your room to sleep and shower. It was safe, quiet, grocery store near by as well as petro and a bakery. LOVED IT!

There is no front desk, but all communications as to what room we had and how to retrieve the key worked just as they said. No problems there. The room itself was functional and had a coffee pot and some coffee packets, so that was nice. We did not use the fridge, but it seemed to be working. All in all, it was a good place for us to spend 2 nights while we toured the vicinity.

This was great for a one night stay for 2 people. The bed was great, location was great and parking was great! It was a bit noisy from our neighbors with a little kid and the bathroom had no countertop to put anything. Only hot worked in the shower, so we had to really improvise. Appreciated the fridge and microwave available!

Our room was much smaller than described / pictured, and I had thought there would be a few more kitchen amenities (tiny fridge in room, microwave in common area). The property is clean, quiet, easy check-in and very walkable. It was okay for our brief stay - just a different type of accommodation than we're used to -- pretty tight for 2 people lol.

Also don't miss the Reykjadalur Hot Spring Thermal River hike in Hveragedi and the geothermal park in town.

We loved Hveragerdi, it was a nice quiet town with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Everything in town was within walking distance of the guesthouse which was very nice. The food hall nearby has lots of great delicious options! We did have issues with communication specifically with check-in. I didn't receive any check-in instructions by the time of check-in and had to figure out how to call the host. However, the host did answer the phone right away and provided me with clear check-in instructions. The room and bathroom were nice and the bed was comfortable.

Great except for the lack of ventilation

Spacious room, convenient location near restaurants and gas stations. Everything was great, except that there is a strong smell of humidity in the room. The curtains all have mold. I understand that is a challenge due to the weather, but maybe change to something that doesn’t mold like blinds or have a dehumidifier in the room or something? Other than that it would be great.

This was my third stay in Iceland and I have already recommended this guest house to a friend. The location is perfect for day trips. You’re always near a gas station and grocery store. The owner is fantastic and super helpful! The rooms are modern and lovely and check in is easy. If I’m not in a camper van on my next trip then I will be here.

Nice place to stay. Housekeeping staff was friendly and did a lovely job. It is a village with no bank so get your currency exchanged before you go. Guesthouse is convenient to many hiking trails and springs, golf course and zip line. Bed was soft and pillows were soft and firm. Would stay here again! Renting a car might be a goos idea to help you get around better.

You definitely get what you pay for here! The room was small, with little room to put a suitcase, but everything was clean. We stayed on a night where it was pretty warm and we were unable to have the windows cracked because of the amount of bugs that would fly in and bite us. At one point, my husband left the room to sit in the car to use the air conditioning for a little relief. I know that is part of travel in Europe, but wish we had a fan or a way to circulate air if the windows couldn't be open. We also had a hard time getting the water temperature to be steady and comfortable. It would change from freezing to scalding without touching a thing.
The location was great though, close to a geothermal park where you can cook your own eggs, get breakfast and see a geyser, and another close by park with a waterfall. That part was a hidden gem!

Small motel type guesthouse located away from highway near centre of town in quiet area. Rooms have private bathrooms despite being listed as a guesthouse. Kettle and coffee/tea provided in room. Fridge also in room. Microwave in lobby. Bonus (the grocery store with the pig logo) is about 8 blocks away. Enjoyed stay so much we extended from one to three days.

Extremely small room with a king bed which was far too big for the room stuck up against the wall which resulted in bad access and as we are older people it really was a problem. We wrote to owner complaining but never recieved a reply. Then there was the staggering increase in rate. No way we would recommend this stay to anyone

We arrived to our unit and there was no TP. The floor was sticky. There is no one on site so we had to find some TP. When we were about to go to bed, my husband realized that the sheets were dirty. There were spots and sand on them. We asked another person staying there, he said his room was spotless. Called, emailed and messaged manager with no response. Soo we ended up getting new linens ourselves, washed the floor with the towel. Very disappointing. I assume they forgot to clean our room because the other reviews are so good. Just remember, there is no one on site, so have a back up plan if it’s not clean to your standards.

The room is nice and in decent condition, though the blind did have small patches of mold and the bedsheet had a hole in it.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was that is was advertised as being suitable for families. We booked for 2 adults and a 10 year old. However, we arrived to find only 1 bed. We spoke to Hotels.com and they said that the property only has one bed per room. Why on earth they allow you to book for 3 people when only 2 can be accommodated.

Other points to note, there is an open sliding door in the corridor that had very steep stairs. This would be dangerous if you had small children. Also, the gutter outside of the room was broken so very load dripping noise during the night. Finally, there was a fridge in the room, but it had been unplugged and inside were a large bag of carrots and other leftover food.

Tried to get in touch with Management about the check-in process. Reached out several times (even with the support of Expedia) - never received any response. Don’t even bother trying.
Room per se was ok; though not spacious at all. We had a hard time falling asleep due due the noise of the heater (we got in touch with management for this reason as well, however as expected no response). Furthermore, the shower head in the bathroom was dripping all night, which was annoying as well.

This guesthouse is a short distance from the main #1 road. When you enter the building you are greeted by modern fixtures, features, flooring etc. and having parking available directly in front of the building was very convenient. The mattress and pillows were so comfy and I got a really great sleep, which I needed after a day of driving and hiking. It was very clean and I would absolutely recommend this guesthouse to anyone and if I were to go back to this area of Iceland I would stay here again.

The little town of Hveragerdi

Located in the heart of Hveragerdi, the town of greenhouses, poets and hot springs, this Guesthouse is centrally located and a great value. We had a large room that was very clean and perfect for our needs. The rollaway bed was only an extra 10 euro or 1400kr (cash only)! =) The owners were responsive to our questions and gave clear instructions. Our two night stay was a wonderful respite in this hot spring haven. The tea/coffee and welcoming atmosphere, within an easy walk of popular and hidden treats like the street of poets and art museum, made our visit a great one. There were big windows that let in a lot of light! Felt super safe in this area. There are flyers with discounts from some local restaurants which was a plus. Never stayed at a guest house before, but in my opinion it was just as good if not better than an expensive hotel. Temperature control (at least in winter). Very clean! Highly recommend!

Fantastic location and experience!

Fantastic experience! We were looking for a hotel that was an easy drive out to the countryside to view the northern lights, and this location was perfect. The host was very friendly and made the check-in process seamless and easy. The Guesthouse was extremely quiet and the other guests staying here were very polite. The rooms were clean with just enough space for our family. This location was extremely well priced and the value of the Guesthouse exceeded our expectations. We were mostly impressed with how comfortable the beds were, how quickly the heater warmed up the rooms, and we also loved that the room had a window that we could open during the night. Overall 5-star location. We were so impressed that we booked this Guesthouse again for our trip here in Iceland. I will continue to highly recommend this location to friends and family.

Google map location is wrongly set and had difficulties looking for the exact place as the signs were not clear.
Room was small but cozy and warm.
Shower was small, no shower gel or shampoo because the dispenser was broken so we had to use the hand soap instead.
Strong smell coming from the bathroom, which we suspected to be coming from the shower drains.

This guest house was very clean and had comfortable beds. However, the room was tiny and as the bed was pushed against the wall, the person against the wall had to climb over the other person or ask them to move if you needed to get out of bed. There was only one chair and nowhere to put your bags. When we phoned to check in, the person who answered could not find our booking and it took 3 phone calls to sort out. There were 10 rooms in a very small property, no common seating area, so
only one person could sit down and the other one lie on the bed. Every time you wanted to move around, you had to climb over bags as there was so little space. The bathroom sink had no plug, so the water had to be running all the time.Small spaces are fine, but this is really pushing it!

Minuscule but clean and functional. No blow dryer or shower mat. Sink so small you drench yourself trying to wash your face. One washcloth for two people . . .but . . .price was good for Iceland and loved this town. We went to the hot springs after coffee and a great chocolate croissant at the local bakery. There were very few people and we had our choice of pools after starting the hike at 8 a.m. Overall, a good choice for a night or two.

Clean, convenient guesthouse in Southern Iceland

Stayed here for 2 nights while we went and explored the southern part of Iceland. It was an ideal starting point as we could go to multiple tourist spots conveniently; was 2 hrs to reynisfjara beach and 1 -1.5 hours to Gullfoss, etc. The town itself is small but it was close to Selfoss where there were grocery stores and more restaurants. The units are small but clean and the beds were super comfortable. Would stay again next time !

The only hiccup was check in - we didnt' receive an email prior to showing up so when we arrived at 3:15pm, I had no idea how to enter. The phone # on the door and the email address both were invalid (the email bounced twice and the phone # was supposedly inactive) so I had to finally call hotels.com who was kind enough to help get ahold of the owners and get us into the building.

Perfect 1-2 night stay.

Nice, safe, clean, cozy in quiet area close to hwy. Private bathroom! Only complaint would be that the room was a bit small & walls are thin. Overall good experience compared to other places we stayed at.
Fyi no staff. Get key codes before you go.

Great place to stay one night in Hveragerdi!

This stay for one night was exactly what we expected. The room was comfortable and after camping most of the nights in Iceland it was such a treat to have a private bathroom!
