it is a state park lodge. it is not fancy and was exactly as expected - somewhat nostalgic. breakfast was included and basic - eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, packaged pastries. room was satisfactory with a balcony that was awesome as it looked out into the woods and ravine. Bar onsite was a bonus and Griffin was fabulous. Trail heads were right there which made hiking access very easy.

Fantastic location, room updated but still rough around the edges...issues were.lack of staffing related possibly. First we thought we were staying at a location with amazing amenities, most were not open. Pool was closed all weekend which was a big part of choosing place. The room was not serviced all weekend and we weren't notified about that prior but when packing to leave found a sheet with a list stating no weekend housekeeping and if you wanted clean towels or garbage out it had to be outside the door by a certain time. You could tell understaffed all weekend ,suddenly on Monday when we were leaving there were staff everywhere. So no pool or housekeeping but you pay same price.
Would I return , probably due to location to trails great. Just know what to expect ahead and you will be prepared not disappointed.

The room was overall clean, but a bit old. It definitely did the function of what I needed for the night. The view out the window and on the deck was very nice. It was a rainy night so I didn’t get to utilize the porch, but if it was sunny, it would’ve been nice. There was an extremely annoying noise, though that sounded as though it was coming from the outside, but when you open the door, you realized it was coming from the air duct or something above the room. It almost sounded like someone was doing work on the pipes. It went on all night and it did keep me up, but I turned on my noise machine so it helped drown it out some. I would say that was the only bad part. There was a decent continental breakfast similar to what most hotels would have. I did enjoy the fresh fruit cups, though it was extremely convenient for hiking based on the location. There was a good hands-free water fountain to fill up your hydration pack for hiking in the lobby, which is always super important to me. Parking was easy and free.

The property is a little hard to find. It’s listed as Natural Bridge State Resort Park but the hotel itself is called the Hemlock Lodge. It’s built into the side of the hill. The pool is like 100 steps down at the bottom.

We were visiting with our 2 dogs. The only issue we had is there is no dedicated spot for the dogs to go to the bathroom. There is a small patch of grass on a drop off near the parking lot and a slanted patch of grass by some of the room. Overall not very dog friendly.
Hot breakfast is complimentary and was good. Not a whole lot of options but some eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. The usually bagels, toast, waffles, fruit, cereal etc.

!! I absolutely loved this property!! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was my younger brother’s favorite part!! The rooms were renovated and very clean! They accommodated my room after they found out the air conditioning was leaking!!

We really enjoyed our stay here and think the value is outstanding. I would recommend a sound machine as the AC was rattling/dripping sounds all night and if you are sensitive to sound this would bother you. Other than that, everyone was friendly, hiking was easily accessible, the view was beautiful. Highly recommend!

Check in was fast and easy. The room was spotless! The dining room and bar staff were very attentive and friendly. The dinner was decent and served very hot but the fried green tomatoes seemed to be premade, frozen and then cooked.. The free breakfast could have used more options. We had a noisy ductwork issue with our room that was handled immediately and with no fuss we were given another room. The front desk brought another keycard when they came to investigate the problem and moved us right then, impressive customer service! Would definitely stay there again.

The room condition was horrible. The room smelled really bad. There were several old used towels piled up in bathtub when we first got to room. The vanity cabinet had something spilled all over them. No soap at sink. Had to use soap from dispenser in shower. The balcony off our room had bird droppings all over balcony and seats. It was not usable. Bathroom faucet was pulled away from wall. I had to hold it in to pull stopper up for a shower.

This place is awesome! You literally can hike to the bridge right out of the parking lot. The restaurant is good for a quick bite and reasonably priced. There is also a bar on premises. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to good motorcycle rides. Rode up there with a group of guys and had a great time!

Had a rough time finding the place. The link for our hotel took us to a ski lift. Cell service was poor so we drove around the area looking for a hotel. Went back to the restaurant we ate at, for their WiFi. It had a hotel connected but it had a different name and was on a different street name than our hotel, turns out it was our hotel! Frustrating!

The room was clean and had a nice view outside the large window as well as a nice balcony to go outside on. It was also very quiet during the time we stayed there. There was a large room darkening curtain to cover the window that made it pretty dark at night. The room had a mini refrigerator but no freezer section in it. The complementary breakfast selection at the restaurant was good. The food that I had for dinner was good although I wish that they had more than one vegetarian entree option on the menu for vegetarians. The menu was the same for lunch and dinner, so that made it hard for my husband and me as vegetarians to eat a variety of things during our three day stay there, therefore we only ate at the restaurant one time for dinner. The staff at the lodge and at the restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. There was a small gift shop with a variety of souvenir and gift items as well as practical items that one might need during their time exploring the park. We were a little disappointed that the nature center was not open during our stay, but the park itself was really neat to see. The trails had quite a lot of stairs and stone steps which required a lot of climbing, and the views were fantastic! The park exceeded my expectations in terms of what we were able to see while hiking, and the skylift ride to the natural bridge was really nice as well.

While the lodge is rustic, it is clean and grounds are beautiful. The lodge is peaceful and quiet. The outdoor pool is amazing. The rooms are clean and the view of the woods and wildlife from your private balcony is beautiful. Breakfast buffet was fresh and hot and plenty of traditional and healthy choices. Lunch and dinner are the same. Staff is also polite and helpful. We will be back.

We loved the room’s view, privacy, easy access, on-site dining and at 78 loved the tram going up to the bridge…we went back everyday! (We were able to go down the stairs at the top and squeeze through the passage to stand under the bridge but that was a challenge for us.) They also have cabins but the ones we saw had huge staircases to get to them. I would love to swim in the huge pool when it is open.

This is a beautiful park in a beautiful area, and we come often. Staff was very helpful. Cabins are in beautiful cliff setting so expect steps and narrow turns of the car. We stayed there coming and going and some maintenance is needed on the first cabin. Food was good.

The lounge chairs in the lobby are extremely worn and the warm inviting picture on line is no match to the dingy look. The room felt dark and the bed mattress saggy. Cleaning fine.No hot shower due to multiple fuses blowing. Drippy faucet. Night 2 a breaker went. My husband had advised there was a bigger issue after night 1 but the staff did not follow up acco rding. Breakfast for Continental as advertised quite sufficient. There's a nice bar on site with reasonable priced food available for. Staff courteous and those there did their best in the moment to help. Hot water pot for the tea l brought good. No tea bags in room. Nice little deck off room. Hiking fantastic. .

The bar was closed on Friday & Saturday night. There was a note posted on the door it didnt say why just closed. The hotel is old and showing considerable wear. Our room had a huge stain in the carpet. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and rattled you could not use it. The water was hard to adjust in the shower and had very low water pressure. It was very nice to have a private balcony. The staff was very nice. All that being said it is a beautiful area and the hiking is wonderful. The hotel was ok just manage your expectations. Would definitely return to the area.

Our room had a huge stain in the carpet. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and rattled you could not use it. The water was hard to adjust in the shower and had very low water pressure. It was very nice to have a private balcony. The staff was very nice. All that being said it is a beautiful area and the hiking is wonderful. The hotel was ok just manage your expectations. Would definitely return to the area.

This has been my favorite trip so far. It was beautiful and we had so much fun. Our room had such a great view. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Definitely would recommend. The building has an older aesthetic to it with lots of wood paneling. It's remote enough to feel safe, but lively enough to enjoy those around you.
Breakfast was good. Some eggs, sausage, and biscuit and gravy were the hot items. Plenty of coffee juices and cereal as well.
The only thing that I had any struggles with was adjusting the shower temperature. You can freeze or burn with the slightest adjustment so be careful!

Rooms have a great location and view but are old and dated. The shower head leaked in multiple locations and shot water over the entire bathroom. Ended wrapping a wash cloth around the plumbing connections and that solved the problem

The place is clean and easy to find. But not as advertised, it’s not a resort. It’s the equivalent of a motel 8 at a national park. The continental breakfast is lack luster, but at least it won’t give you the runs. The view is ok but online made it seem you could see the natural bridge, you can’t. Was excited to stay there but was disappointed by the end.
