Veronica at the front desk was very helpful. There was an issue with the room due to heat and they immediately rectified it. Amazing water pressure in the shower. It was as strong as a power washer (in a good way). Dogs were a nice touch.

Nice place with 2 hot tubs - Bonus!!

Very first time in a hostel type hotel. I booked a room with a 'small bathroom' heads up - that means there's a tiny sink in the room, you still share a shower/bathroom down the hall. Small kitchen to use and 2 bathrooms on the main floor. We got there and used the hot tubs had wine right away after a long day. Bring your own food so we snacked, showered before other guests arrived and made it an early night. It can get a bit noisy with other guests arriving, some making dinner etc. over all we planned it well. Breakfast option to purchase - there is common room to eat in and it was very comfortable, we had brought food a toaster was provided, games and TV in the common room.

Some repairs are needed such as doors difficult to shut and bed frame squeaky though otherwise beautiful peaceful place, cute friendly staff including the fluffy dogs, had a nice stroll down a horse path which was lovely, the shower was nice and hot and the kitchen and fridge were nice. The hot pool area is clean and pleasant. I hear they continue to remodel a few rooms at a time so I expect this will only keep improving.

Nice location for exploring the Golden circle. Room was small, no TV, but there was a nice lounge where you could sit and play cards or make tea. Pretty easy to hear your neighbors, but Breakfaat and hot tubs were great. Loved the friendly dogs and cats.

Great guest house in Iceland. The guest house is family owned and run. Everyone was nice. They served a typical Iceland breakfast (lunch meat, bread/jam etc.). We were put in newer units which were really nice. The hot tubs also were a big hit and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights from them.

Small guesthouse with homely feel.

6 of us booked the guesthouse, we managed to get a block of 4 bedrooms! the bedroom are simple and no-frill. But since we got the block, we have a living room for ourselves. The guesthouse is located in a remote and quiet area, so it's ideal to catch Aurora if you are lucky. What impressed us the most are the breakfast, the dining area is another building that's tastefully decorated, it has homely feel. Since the guesthouse has limited beds, we don't have big breakfast crowd like other hotels, everyone got their tables, just like eating at home.

This is a nice Icelandic guesthouse.

After a long day of travel, we stayed at this guesthouse and found just what we needed - friendly staff that quickly helped us, comfortable beds, clean rooms, and they have hot tubs to boot! There is a kitchen everyone can use, you have a private room. I would definitely stay again.

Busy place. Loved the hot tub! Facility is looking well used but maintained. Carpet was wet in our room and the rainfall shower didn’t work properly. Good location though. Close to Selfoss and an easy drive to the Golden Circle and Reykjavik. Worked great for us as our last stop on our trip.

Nice farm-type place outside Hveragerdi (about 5kms). Check in easy and friendly. Room warm and clean and I slept really well. Kitchen and sitting room avaiable, and a nice surprise id the hottur pottur for relaxing in after a long day sightseeing (they are open until 23.00). A great place to spot the Aurora too, as it is out of town. They have a friendly cat ad dog too!

Fantastic Hot Tub

Stayed one night in a Twin Room with shared bathroom. Our room was in the building opposite the reception building, 3 rooms and a shared bathroom with toilet in this building. The shared bathroom was big with a long bathtub and shower, and a toilet and sink, clean and bright. Never encountered queuing to use it. There were table and 2 chairs in our room. The wifi was great. It was quiet and I have a good sleep here with fresh air of nature.
We loved the outdoor hot tubs very much, there were 2 hot tubs with different degree of temperature, we chose the 38 degree one, so that we could stayed longer to enjoy it. At the hot tub, there was a shower with hot water and soap, we took our shower before entering the hot tub, we saw 2 more couple entering to another 42 degree hot tub without bathing, luckily they did not join us. We took our bath at this outdoor shower after using the hot tub too, very enjoying.
There was a small kitchen at another building next to ours. We cooked our dinner and breakfast here.
This was a beautiful and relax place.

It was a nice hostel, with shared kitchen and bathrooms. One of the advantages of staying here is they have 2 hot tubs (one at 38C the other one at 42C) for the guests to enjoy for free before 11pm. You can request for hair dryer from the front desk. The kitchen is a bit small, but overall the experience is good. For my room (2 twins bed with shared bathroom), it comes with a small dining table and a sink which are very convenient for us. A good place to stay for a night if you are ending your Golden circle tour (only 15mins drive from the Kerio crater) and are planning to head back to Reykjavik or go south. Nice view around the hostel,

My husband and I had a wonderful stay this summer at Hjardarbol Guesthouse. We stayed here for one night on our drive around the Ring Road. The Guesthouse was accessible and easy to find off of the main road. The host (whose name I can't remember) was very kind and gracious to us, as we arrived late in the evening. We were also greeted by a few adorable and friendly pets! There seemed to be some confusion with the room request, as I thought we had requested a double bed, but that didn't seem to come through with the Guesthouse- but the host immediately and without any question upgraded us to a nicer room with a private bathroom at no extra charge. We felt so welcome and comfortable there! The room was cozy and clean, and we slept very soundly. There was also a shared kitchen that we were able to use. The next morning, we enjoyed the hot tub, as well as playing with a very friendly and adorable cat. The Guesthouse is in a secluded, quiet, beautiful area. We enjoyed talking with the host and getting some tips for our travels, as well, and were so happy to support a family business. This Guesthouse was the perfect place for us to spend a night on our road trip, and we would have gladly stayed even longer if we had been able to. We hope to be able to return!

It's an affordable guest-house and the rooms/beds are comfortable.
It could be slightly improved with more electrical sockets to accomodate all modern chargers which run continously - and I would also add a vending machine to the property to allow guests to buy snacks.

Easy, fast check-in with late hours, and gave a town map with attractions listed.
Room and furnishings are clean and basic, shared bathroom was only among the 4 rooms in the building which was a plus. Location could be good for viewing the northern lights at night but unfortunately we had cloudy skies so can't vouch for it. Our room faced the backyard but other rooms may have the advertised \"mountain view\".

The host Helga was very nice and offered helpful advice on which Icelandic salts (gift boxes) to select based on what I was looking for.

Overall a pleasant stay for a very reasonable price!

quiet escape

We were in Iceland for just one evening due to a layover. We loved the hot tub and it was nice to relax after a long day. It's a good location near Kerid crater and great if you're doing the golden circle and then plan on continuing along the south side of Iceland the next day. Check in was pretty easy and the washrooms were nice and clean. I thought the beds were pretty comfortable and didn't have any issues during my stay.

The room was great and check in was easy- breakfast was a little confusing- they said you had to pay for it which was fine and that it was from 8-10am but when we went down at 9 there was no one around so we just made ourselves some coffee and sat around for awhile but no one ever showed up. So we walked down the road and got some food at a reataurant instead- still not really sure what happened there but whatever it was fine. The hot tubs were great! And the whole surrounding area was just gorgeous!

Budget-friendly guesthouse with basic facilities. Shared bathrooms and kitchen. Free Wi-Fi. The lady in charge is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great and fortunately included in the rate. This hotel was the best value we had in Iceland where we stayed in three different hotels. Location is great for golden circle sights and not far from Hella for Hella horse rentals. Good-natured dog plays with the guests.

Our room (number 4) was lovely - smart, clean and comfortable with basic toilettries, hair dryer etc. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of choice. Affordable and comfortable - near Golden Circle

The hotel has everything you need and is ideally located close to the beautiful Golden Circle natural attractions of Iceland.
Beds are comfortable, good showers - but relatively basic, taking the form of small single story blocks, located on a farmland environment. A good breakfast is available (€10) and there is a hot tub for relaxing in the evening. No television in the rooms, but adequate wifi (free). Overall, great value and ideal for touring southern Iceland.

Bof … très déçue !

J’ai testé ce lieu avec 2 enfants pensant qu’il serait bien pour une famille … mais surprise que la SdB avec WC soit commune d’une part (ce n’était pas explicite dans le descriptif hotelss.com) et partagée avec 3 chambres soit 9 personnes … donc des sanitaires assez sales et une chambrée a bloqué l’accès 1h20 à 19h et idem le lendemain matin à 8h … Pas top pour aller aux toilettes !
Autre point négatif, j’ai demandé à faire un lavage de linge … normal dans une guesthouse ou hôtels mais là comme par hasard la machine venait d’être lancée pour la journée … donc pas vraiment sympa !
Dommage car le lieu etait plutôt bien placé et les chambres correctes

Petit hébergement avec toiletté commune et salle de bain commune, un évier dans la chambre plutôt pratique, le gros point noir serais sur l’épaisseur des mur on a partager le logement avec 3 gars qui on écouter la musique jusqu’à 1h du matin et un autre qui a ronfler toute la nuits, donc la c’est vous et votre chance.

Le gros plus c’est la surprise d’apprendre qu’il y a un bain chaud extérieur très agréable après une grosse journée.
