It is a lovely little inn in a great location.
Everything was great and very clean and quiet.
What distinguishes HSL is the staff. They are so helpful, smiling always and kinda. A very special shout out to Jasper. He made our stay 10 times better, and it was already lovely.
Lovely fresh breakfast!
Thank you Jeff too for being so accommodating.
We hope to stay again.

Really lovely & in a nice area. The hotel was clean & exactly as pictured. The staff were incredibly helpful and nice.
The room was a little small, but for the price & location, you can't beat it.
I would say the only thing to note is that the stairs are very steep if travelling with large bags. But, the front desk staff did help me carry my bags all the way up.
I'd stay here again. All in all, a very easy, straightforward place to stay in Cape Town.

Head South Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. Our Deluxe Room was spacious, well-appointed and had a lovely balcony to watch paragliders off of Signal Hill. Great amenities include a scrumptious breakfast (one of the best we had in our South Africa travels), nice open air community patio to relax after a day of sightseeing, a snack & drink honor bar that was reasonably priced and a helpful staff (Teddy was awesome), including a wonderful daytime staffmember who helped transport our bags to our 3rd floor room as there is no elevator. Location was minutes from the beach, a Hop On/Off bus pickup stop that can take you to V&A waterfront, Table Mountain, all around the city, etc. and several good restaurants and shops. Highly recommend Head South Lodge if you want to be slightly removed from the hustle & bustle of the Cape Town CBD but still be able to access everything that the city has to offer.

We have booked a hotel reservation for Cape Town for May 13 to May 14, 1 night. At our arrival in Cape Town SA, we were unable to get in contact with the hotel, despite multiple phone calls and e mails prior to departure from Montreal. Instructions from the hotel were to call
prior to arrival as there is no check-in after 10:00 pm.
Our arrival in Cape Town was after midnight, we could not get in touch with them. The airport staff arranged a hotel for us at the airport. Only when we checked in, the hotel sent a message to contact the security, again no answer.

Stayed for 12 nights in the deluxe room on the top floor at the back of the property. Found the room to be of very high standard very spacious and very well equipped with more than adequate air conditioning.
I was made to feel very welcome and found the staff extremely helpful I was particularly impressed with the breakfast selection and the general cleanliness
Hotel was particularly suited for my needs as it was a great location for all the connections to the tourist excursions. In summary, I found my whole experience during my stay to be most comfortable and in my opinion value for money.
Has a solo traveller I couldn't recommend this establishment highly enough.

Great first stay at Head South Lodge!

Very much enjoyed my first stay at Head South Lodge! The guesthouse is in a great location - close to Sea Point and the promenade along the water, but also 20-30 min walk to V&A Waterfront and a quick 10 min Uber to City Bowl. Bed was very comfortable, WiFi worked well, they have secure parking in front of the guesthouse. All of the staff were so kind, felt very safe here, and excellent breakfasts. I will be back!

Customer service was excellent, and hotel staff were accommodating and beyond friendly. Our room had a pleasant balcony, and we easily Ubered from the hotel to wherever we needed to go in the city. Breakfast buffet and the coffee options were also excellent!:) We did struggle with not being able to contact the lodge on our way in (we tried reaching out through the Expedia app but got no response), as we hoped for airport pickup or transportation suggestions. Unfortunately we did not hear back and ended up getting massively ripped off by a taxi who charged us about 4x the normal rate. Our advice: uber uber uber!!

Great location - a short walk to the promenade by Green Point lighthouse.
There is a hot breakfast which is delicious and made to order.
The front terrace is a nice place to sit out in the evenings, and there is an honesty bar.
Place feels secure with a member of staff always on duty by the front gate.
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Big thanks to Lee :)

Fantastic Stay

Stayed here with my mum as part of our trip to Cape Town. The area of Green Point was quite central to the V&A which we loved. The hotel had such an open, friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the rooms, reception, pool and bar area is so chilled out and lovely to relax in. I would certainly stay here again, and recommend Head South Lodge to anyone who comes to visit Cape Town, regardless of the duration of their stay.

They'll take all your money if you cannot arrive.

Be careful paying in advance because if anything happens to you to cause you not to be able to go, you will not get any refund. Instead you'll get pointed to some obscure t's and c's and a blunt email. I did not like the experience. I'm not asking for favours, but a slightly sympathetic tone to the business like email would have been appreciated, even if you help yourself to 100% of the bill for a non-arrival. Very disappointed.

Ubers were awesome and extremely affordable to locations we ventured to.(Clifton Beach, V&A Waterfront, and Table Mountain) Amazing staff with a great breakfast. ESPRESSO machine saved our lives. hahah were coffee addicts so that in itself was perfect!

The Head South Lodge was amazing. The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel and our room was always clean. When the owner were informed that we are on honeymoon, he upgraded our room to a bigger suite at the same price. This gesture was truely appreciated.

Hotel Staff Excellent, Parking a Problem

Hotel staff were excellent throughout, very friendly and extremely informative. Parking is a real problem and we didn't feel like the car was safe overnight. There are porters there to watch the car however this doesn't take away the fact you have to park on the path and at one point we had to wedge the car between a tree and a bus stop, trust me this was very tight!! If it was my own car I wouldn't mind so much but when it's a hire car you really can't afford to damage them. Breakfast was brilliant with very good timings. We paid extra to upgrade the room but only had a view of a hill and no sea, when looking at other rooms we had noticed they were much better, whatever you do, do NOT upgrade it cost an extra £35 a night aswell.

This hotel was comfortable and just what we needed for our stay in CapeTown.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Room was clean and had celling fan.
An added bonus was that our room had an electrical socket in situ that was suitable for our English electrical equipment.
breakfast was buffet style and very good.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Honesty bar was effective and a lovely touch.
The staff helped us to book excursions and taxis.

Home from home.

What a pleasure it is to find a home which someone has generously converted into a boutique b&b. The building is neatly set back from the main road and commands a lovely view towards the Atlantic beyond the parklands at Green/Sea Point.
The rooms and facilities are beautifully presented and airy, with full use being made of a central yard. The lounge and dining area are particularly comfortable and inviting all day, while the honesty bar is stocked with all the quality ingredients for a relaxing [and inexpensive] sit-around.
Shopping, restaurants and bars are conveniently located, but it is best to check with staff before setting off where to go. Parking at the front of the property is secure.
The staff, from the owner right through to the maids, are charming, helpful and interested in their guests.
All-in-all, this is a real home from home, neatly perched on the edge of the city and the green suburbs.

Nice location in Green Point. The parking situation is quite tricky, as it's all on/next to the main road (the security guard is very helpful with this though).

The staff at reception were very friendly, however they didn't really go out of their way to accommodate requests, namely:

1) We asked for a King bed in our booking, but got 2 doubles, when we raised this we were told we could just push them together and it's the same (it's not)
2) The TV remote batteries were flat, when we raised this we were told we could bring the remote down or some batteries up ourselves, instead of this being handled by the staff for us (would expect a bit more from a 4 star establishment).

Also found the coffee from their machine in the eating area was really not great, they should probably look at calibrating it or changing their beans or something.

Das Zimmer war geräumig mit einem großen Fenster und Balkon zur befahrenen Main Road. Das Bett war beeindruckend, ca. 240 cm breit und sehr bequem. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Ausstattung war schlicht.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in der Head South Lodge! Alle Mitarbeiter waren super lieb und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer waren groß, modern und super ausgestattet - es hat uns an nichts gefehlt.

Auch die Lage zwischen Meer, Lions Head und direkt an der Main Road, wo sich viele Cafés, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten finden, war perfekt!

Schönes, sauberes, nettes und gepflegtes Haus mit sehr nettem Personal.
