The Hotel was lovely and with a big attention for details. We got a cozy and big room with a privat garden.
The stuff was amazing : both shifts: Domingos and Sheley were Fantastic and very helpful and kind.
We love the place and the vibes and the hotel
Is basically walking distance form everything.
We walked twice to the Waterfront Mall and we felt safe all the way and enjoyed a pleasant walk.
We also meet the German owner who was very kind and warm.
We will come back cause CPT is amazing.

I am a remote worker and detrimentally rely on availability of Wifi. During entire stay, Wifi never worked in room.

Unlike most “boutique” properties in Cape Town, This property DOES NOT have a generator. This means, when load shedding (power outage) occurs twice daily, you will have no AC in your room without ability to safely move around or sleep in room.

If you’re unlucky enough to get Room 5, please know that a random key is floating around according to Fred, a representative of property. Someone left the property without key and no one at property thought it was a safety risk to have a key floating around. Instead, management decided not to change the locks and give me the spare key. This leads to the next issue—(lack of) housekeeping.

Management thought it was smart to have only one spare key for Room 5, which I had since the previous guest did not return key and they couldn’t bother changing the locks. Management didn’t tell me until the very last day of my stay after multiple requests were made to clean my room. On the last night before I left, management told me the the reason housekeeping didn’t clean was because they didn’t have a key.

This property is a joke.

If you are considering this property, I would suggest looking elsewhere at a property that is committed to safely, cleanliness, and customer experience. This property is not.

A lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, service was great. My only negative was the size of our room (we had room 9) which was quite small. I’ve since realised the hotel does have larger rooms so if you’re looking for a bit more space make sure you pick one of the other rooms.

Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood near the waterfront and city center. Hotel staff were kind and helpful. I miss seeing Shelly's smile every morning!! She was so kind! Communication with the staff prior to our visit was fantastic. They organized airport transportation and a Langa Township tour with an excellent tour company.

Best small hotel and stay EVER and anywhere!

This was, for us, one of the nicest places we have stayed anywhere in the world. Certainly, in this specific instance and for us, the location, the personal interest and overall "vibe" was incredibly nice. Our contact with all staff and management was low-key but welcoming from my first booking efforts to the very end and beyond -- based on my booking a final day excursion through the Dysart's recs and assistance and letting that service deliver us to the airport promptly and with very modest concern. Did we love the Dysart? YES. Yeah, the breakfast food was amazing also!

Dysart is an intimate boutique hotel. Our stay was wonderful , management go the extra mile to accommodate you and make it feel like a home away from home. Shelly was amazing, she really makes the hotel five star. Hotel has stunning pool areas, and is walking distance to shops and restaurants. Will definitely go back.

Highs and Lows, Has potential to be great.

Dysart has potential to be great. The location is excellent and the building is quite nice. Unfortunately we had a really strange check in experience and received some awkward pressure from the owners upon providing feedback that our room smelled of chlorine. Overall we may have just had an unlucky day and have to stress that the rest of the staff, for the most part, was really great.

We stayed here six years ago and nothing has changed so felt that it could do with some modernising, such as the decor, the TV needs HD and more stations. Dennis and Shirley are the stars of this hotel, they will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Do not accept room number 1, because the noise from the outside air conditioning unit will lead to sleepless nights, it switches off at 3 am! They did offer a room change the next night but we used our ear plugs and tired from our day trips so fell asleep quickly. Felt that the owner should have been more friendly. Location is good for VA and Green Point.

If you are looking for a small boutique hotel, this is the place! The staff was very nice, the room was well sized, and we felt very safe. This property isn't necessarily in a very walk-able area, but it is a close uber ride away to everything in Cape Town.

We enjoyed the quirks and charm of this place.

Location good, but views of the sea incumbered by large buildings. Furniture and furnishings not that comfortable-- for millennials. Dennis was very helpful with reservations and information about Cape Town must-see sites and South African socio-political dynamics. Poor TV system.

Mix up with the rooms initially but the staff did everything they could to make it right. The fact the room I had booked had been given to someone else did make me feel a little cheated as it was expensive.
The staff are amazing so friendly and helpful. Property Needs a bit of TLC i.e a fresh lick of paint but I did enjoyed staying there very much.

What an absolute gem!

The staff put customers at the heart of everything they do. This differentiates DysART Boutique Hotel as other hotels may say this but to get that special feeling of being well looked after its all in the little details (the welcome, the nice conversations over breakfast / a glass of wine by the pool, the flexibility in service offers to guest, going the extra mile etc. I have stayed in hotel around the world and this stood out for me as one of the best in terms of overall value. The rooms are modern, well designed, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is great and the overall ambiance around the pool is spot on.

Fab little boutique hotel.

Lovely hotel and both Dennis and the staff are lovely. Bit out of the way and drivers hadn't heard of it so make sure you have an map and roaming to get there but will def be staying again. Room and bathroom gorgeous with private terrace and outdoor shower (as well as indoor) Only two downsides - lack of power sockets and bed a bit lumpy but still a great stay.

Heaven on Earth

An Absolute must stay establishment for the traveller that seeks affordable luxury with all the bells and whistles. The hotel offers amenities that exceeds international standards, our room was spacious, private and very luxurious.

The big plus however was the service, the staff simply cannot do enough to make your stay special.

The only disappointment was that the hotel was already booked and could not help us for our next trip. If you travelling to Cape Town book early, Dysart will not dissapiont!

Chilled out, arty special boutique hotel

We had the best time ever at the hotel. The staff were amazing and looked after us so well. The room was beautiful with a love seat on the balcony positioned perfectly to watch the sun go down. The breakfasts were superb with a great selection of delicious foods. A short walk down to the V and A waterfront or a quick Uber in to town makes for a great location. Would highly recommend this place, nothing to fault at all.

My wife and I spent 5 pleasurable days in room 4, which had a double walk in shower and large comfortable bedroom with a balcony, large 'lie in' bubble chair and a table and chairs also. The hotel is within walking range from the V&A Waterfront and taxis are easily obtained by the ever friendly staff, who also give good advice on local eating venues. The breakfasts have plenty of fruit, meats, cheese, smoked salmon etc plus freshly baked bread and a cooked breakfast is always available. Overall, an excellent base for exploring Cape Town and surrounding areas.

We enjoyed 3 nights stay here. We had an ocean view room which was spacious and modern with views over the neighbourhood, stadium and out to sea. The pool was great as was the delicious breakfast served around the pool. Only a short walk to some local cafe and restaurants or easy taxi ride anywhere.

Stylish hotel that reminded me of Miami!

For our second anniversary, we stayed at the Dysart hotel and found the stay fantastic. The hotel reminded me of a south beach miami hotel, with large white rooms, comfortable bed, an amazing bathroom, and our room had an outside patio which was perfect for me to smoke a cigar on. The management of the hotel were warm and friendly, making our stay so much more enjoyable. I would recommend the hotel to people who are seeking a hotel conveniently located in the center of Cape Town. The only thing is that Dysart street is very narrow and lots of one way streets, so keep that in mind when looking for parking :)

I'm really in love with this hotel. Everything was just perfect: location (walk distance to some bars and restaurants, as well walk distance to Waterfront), accommodation (all you need is in room), good WiFi, nice bathroom with shower and bath, but the most incredible thing about this hotel is it's staff. I've met here probably the most friendly staff I've even seen in my life. Thank you so much!

A little disappointed.

This hotel was just... OK. It had a ton of 5-star reviews, so we booked it. The staff is very nice and breakfast is excellent. But...

-The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, and taxis had a tough time finding it.

-The phone was disconnected the entire time. No way to call the hotel.

-The hotel is a good 30 minute walk from the waterfront, not as close as the impression I was given. It is also a 15 minute cab ride away.

-Every hotel service I was offered was much more expensive than if booked outside. A hotel taxi to the airport, offered at 320 Rand, we got outside for 200. A Cape Point tour, offered at 2,500 Rand, we got for 1,800.

Not a bad hotel by any means, but definitely less than we expected.

Place with a heart and soul

Good location at Green Point not far from the football stadium and within walking distance of the V&A waterfront and a short taxi ride from most of the sights, restaurants etc. DysART has lots of artistic flourishes and is well designed with 8 rooms, 6 in the main building with a pool and eating and reception and 2 in the adjacent building with another pool.
Rooms are very comfortable and we had a small terrace/balcony. security is clearly a priority and garaging was provided for the hire car. Drinks and snacks were provided on arrival and were available at other times and delicious. Breakfasts were very good and went on to 11am, a great idea when you just want to relax a bit.
However, what made our stay so memorable was the staff. Everyone is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Frank appears to be in charge/the owner and he and several guys take it in shifts to keep an eye on everything and provide good advice on where to eat etc. There are the women who cook and clean and who all take a real interest in their guests and make the place so beguiling and there are other staff and everyone delivers totally. In addition one of them, Zinny, runs a community charity in her own time with support from the hotel. So a quality hotel with a heart and soul in a good location, not cheap but reasonably priced for what it offers. What's not to like?

Beautiful, comfortable and accommodating

I enjoyed the room, the staff, the outside gardens, and the breakfasts. They make a huge spread (German-style) with meats and cheeses, and homemade croissants, etc. plus you can have eggs and speciality coffees, etc. It's really lovely. The staff are super friendly and helpful and make lots of arrangements, taxis, etc. for you. They have a driver that is also a tour guide and he was awesome and very accommodating. The internet was not always working well, which is the only downside about my experience since I was there to work and needed to use it. It's a $5 taxi ride to most things in town. There are restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and you can easily get to the beachwalk and Camps Bay. The V&A waterfront is also nearby and walking distance during the day.

A fantastic place to stay for couples

Dysart is a very nice small hotel in a very good location in Cape Town. It is quiet, the rooms are nice, it is reasonably priced for the location, and the staff is quite helpful. The hotel is located where a reasonable walk will get you to the waterfront. There are several decent restaurants located a few blocks away. Do remember that this is a "Boutique Hotel" with only a few rooms. For us, that is a bonus. We prefer small and quiet inside of a very busy Cape Town. This does mean no gym, no on site restaurant or real room service, and no 24 hour concierge. There is 24 hour security and someone is always near the front desk. It feels very safe. For some people the lack of services might be a concern. That is not a complaint, but understanding what a small boutique hotel means. It probably is not a good place for some smaller children because some of the art is a little bit mature.

The hotel is all about service. Very personal and professional. We got an ocean view room, well it is distant ocean view, but a good one none the less. Room size was quite good and bathroom was pretty big, which we liked. Breakfast was very nice and customize-able. The pool is on the small side but we could not use it in the winter. The only minor issue I have is that there are very few power outlets in the room. Modern travelers have laptops, tablets, smart phones, cameras, etc. Need lots of outlets.

AN OASIS OF CALM IN CAPE TOWN

I really enjoyed the personalised approach of staying in a small hotel (circa 8 rooms) instead of a large corporate hotel in Cape Town. Boutique is an often overused word the world over but the Dysart certainly justifies the use of it; as it sums up the place very succulently. On arrival I was welcomed with a complimentary pool side drink before being given a tour of my room/the hotel. I was in a Grand Deluxe Sea facing double room with balcony (room 6). The room was stylish, light, airy and spacious with double doors opening out onto a small (approx 1 m deep) balcony which ran almost the width of the room, with a sea/stadium view. The room was immaculate, air conditioned, came with a mini bar fridge (very reasonable prices, LCD TV, tea/coffee making facilities. The double bed was comfortable and came with two separate single duvets. The modern tiled bathroom was spotless, with a large shower (big enough for two) and twin sinks. Fresh fluffy towels were replaced daily. The location is perfect, set back away from the busy noisy roads it is an oasis of calm in Green Point. Having stayed in both Cape Town Central (see separate report) and stayed in Green Point I certainly prefer this location. The area was safe and an easy gentle 15 min stroll to the Waterfront (along Main Road and then Portswood Road). If you don’t fancy walking, taxis are cheap and plentiful. There are plenty of restaurants and shops within safe walking distance.

Absolute luxury with impeccable service

This hotel became one of the highlights of the trip. It is in a lovely quiet location in Green Point but within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront and town is a 20 min walk away. The room was more of a suite with a wet room and double sinks in the bathroom, backing onto the pool and sun loungers. But the unique selling point of this hotel lies in its attentive, personal service, which is why many of the other people staying at the hotel had stayed there before. We will be back.

This is a very high standard intimate hotel.
It offered all the amenities we wanted, excellent service.
When we arrived we were greeted by Frank the proprieter and his excellent staff who provided us with refreshments and and most warm welcome.
Every help was offered to us to make our stay in Capetown a pleasure.
We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone except perhaps those who need a high status international hotel on the waterfront.

A wonderful place to stay in Cape Town

I chose this hotel based on the trip advisor recommendations it had received. To be honest, I took the reviews with a small amount of skepticism. However, dysART Boutique Hotel lives up to its reputation. This is one of the finest stays I've enjoyed at a hotel in years. The staff are pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and did I say friendly! No surliness, no ignoring my requests, actually anticipating what I might need or want.

The hotel is extremely nice with excellent rooms; I had first-floor room with a patio and outdoor shower (plus full facilities inside). I was very impressed. And the breakfast was excellent (they have the most skilled baker working there) and they happily accommodated my desire for poached eggs even though most people seem to eat fried eggs (how quaintly British)!

They are in the process of adding additional rooms (currently only six rooms) and I think that they will continue to provide the same service and friendliness with the expansion (not always easy to do).

So if your plans include Cape Town, book in here!

This lovely small hotel cannot come more highly recommended. Its situation overlooking the bay and a short walk from the Waterfront, its thoughtful design and comfort, and above all its attentive and friendly staff meant that our one night stop-over in Cape Town was utterly memorable. Thank you!

Dysart is an amazing place to stay in Cape Town

My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I stayed at Dysart. My wife and I are very picky travelers. Dysart exceeded our expectations. It was very clean, beautiful and hospitable.

We walked to restaurants on Main Street on two evenings.

When we went to Stellenbosch we left three of our bags there.

On the way to the CT Airport we picked them up and the Dysart Staff were wonderfully hospitable once again.

Dysart is just a great experience in Cape Town!!

A small family owned hotel that from the moment we arrived made you feel special. The staff are wonderful, Denis at front of house, Zinny cooking a wonderful breakfast and looking after us every morning, Martin making sure we were looked after at night and Alex who picked us up from the airport and took us on a two day tour of the area. (well worth the money!) A hotel is only as good as it's staff and I can't fault dysART. Situated about 15 minutes walk from the V & A waterfront and in what seemed to be a totally safe area either day or night. Cape Town is a wonderful place to visit, it has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth and the hotel was the icing on the cake. If I go back, I won't consider staying anywhere else.

Perfect Home Away From Home!

This hotel was perfect! My mother and I truly enjoyed our time at this hotel. Safe neighborhood and walking distance to the wonderful VA Waterfront district. The breakfast service was impeccable and the owners/staff were simply amazing and provided great suggestions on day to day tourism travel. I strongly recommend this hotel for families, couples and girlfriend getaways ... Thank you dysART, we look forward to visiting again real soon!

Extraordinary Levels of Service

We stayed in Dysart for 7 nights on our honeymoon and it was a fabulous experience. The staff was fabulous and even the owners Peter & Lo were very welcoming. The best part of the stay was the service levels. We felt really comfortable and there was no awkwardness unlike a hotel.

We would definitely recommed Alex, the private tour guide who knows the place inside out and is a great guide.

The only downside to this place is the surrounding neighbourhood gets very quiet and secluded in the evenings.

Apart from that, it is located within walking distance of V&A Waterfront, 20 mins drive to the Market, Camps Bay beach and Lions Head.

Overall a fab place to stay.

Great place to stay in Cape Town Green Point

The hotel is really nice, a bit difficult to find for some Taxis but if you print a map before going to the hotel you wont have any problems. The owners and the personel really nice and helpfull. I definitly recomend to go to this nice place in the paradaise of Cape Town. The hotel is specially good for couples I guess.

I loved this hotel. It was quite, charming , contemporary without going over the top. The warm tile floors in the bathroom and under the carpet were a treat. Breakfast was superb and the staff was so friendly. I wish I had stayed longer and would come back in a minute. NIce view from the deck over the rooftops to the ocean and of Cape Town.

Delightful Stay at Dysart!

From the moment my Wife and I arrived we were blown away by the personal service and care at Dysart.

From the owners, Lou, Peter, and Frank, to all the wonderful staff members Zinni, Neefa, (your daytime hosts) and Martin (evening host and concierge) your every want and need is taken care of.

Every night they take your personal breakfast order for the next morning, and prepare your meal fresh while you relax and then dine poolside.

My wife fell ill for one day and Neefa went beyond the call of duty bringing tea and honey, orange juice, and anything my wife required directly to our room, and we never even had to ask! She tended to her needs all day, something I've never experienced at a hotel.

I had to to fax a business document during our stay internationally, and the kind folks at Dysart provided me with complete access to all the resources I needed, and when the fax line was busy, offered to continuing attempting to send while we went sight seeing, allowing us to make the most of our time.

The grounds are beautifully designed with a modern approach, clean lines and beautiful art. From the rooms to the pool area, everything is immaculate. The personal service Dysart provides can not be matched by any of your major hotel chains, a definite
advantage to the boutique experience.

I would recommend Dysart to all, and definitely will be visiting again. A true 5 Star experience!

We had a good stay there. Would only note a few small issues: room needed repainting (some signs of mold), a deeper cleaning (dust), staff could have offered breakfest for us one day we woke up 15 min late (such a small hotel could open that exception), could have been more proactive into helping with rescheduling our flights (so much trouble with South African Aiways...). At the end, good hotel, would recommend, but dont know if would stay there again. Maybe would opt for a beach location such as Camps Bay or Clifton.

Fabulous hotel - would return any day

I spend over a week at dysART and it was a fabulous stay. The very spacious room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities needed for a luxurious vacation. The bathroom was grand and spacious as well and included an oversize shower and one of the best soaking tubs. The entire staff, in particular Frank, Lo, Pete and Martin made me feel very welcome and were extremely helpful and accommodating. The common places were immaculate and very comfortable. Although it is a small place it provided plenty of privacy. The location is ideal for an active or leisurely vacation or business and the neighborhood felt safe for a solo female traveler. Most everything in Cape Town was within walking distance. I will certainly return to dysART next time I am in Cape Town and in the meantime I will highly recommend this place to friends, family and everybody else heading in that direction

dysArt's decor is just brilliant. The double rain shower made the stay worthwhile. The location is a solid 25 minute walk to the waterfront and there was a lot of construction due to the World Cup. We took a taxi back and it was about US$12.

SPECTACULAR

This hotel truly surprised me! I stayed there twice, and on both occasions, I was very well taken care of by the entire staff. Everyone is very helpful and polite, and I want to give a special thanks to all of them! They made my stay very enjoyable.

The first room (with a bathtub) was spectacular and huge, with a balcony next to it. High-quality bathroom products. Really spacious and beautifully decorated. The second room, a few days later, was a bit smaller but just as high in quality.

When you arrive at the hotel, you might be surprised because the front looks like an ordinary house, with no big signs. But inside, it's impeccable and has two swimming pools. There are parking spaces available, and they’ll help you park if needed.

It’s about 1.5 to 2 km from the Waterfront and just a few steps from a main street with a supermarket, pharmacy, and restaurants. I would definitely stay there again!

Heerlijk kleinschalig guesthouse, moderne uitstraling en uitstekende ligging in de stad. (Veilige buurt). Personeel uiterst vriendelijk en klantgericht.
