The room was large and spotless and the view of Table Mountain was spectacular. The little gifts left after turndown were a beautiful touch, quite fitting to the whole hotel. Last but no least the guest experience staff and concierge staff were amazing and made our visit that bit more special. If we can, we will definately be back.

The staff is extremely warm, friendly, professional, and beyond helpful. Breakfast is unbelievable. Every type of breakfast food buffet in the large room plus ability to order off the menu. The hotel is in a fantastic location at the Waterfront in Cape Town.

The hotel itself is great but the room service staff was comically bad. Orders would take longer than one hour to arrive, items were ALWAYS missing. One time they called us at 1:30am to confirm our breakfast order (waking us up!) and then still got the order wrong 😂 really odd in a 5 star hotel.

During my recent visit to Cape Town, I had the distinct pleasure of staying at The One and Only Hotel, and I can confidently say it was an experience beyond compare. However , Tash was the premier concierge!! His recommendations were spot on and he scheduled all of our activities which lead to a superb vacation for my husband and I.

This is a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel are very well trained and will do everything they can to make your stay memorable. Breakfast is fabulous. We did not try Nobu. We highly recommend this hotel to any discerning traveler.

Terrible service. They seem desperately understaffed. You walk through the hotel and it sometimes feel like no one even works there. Also the staff they do have are badly trained, so the overall level of service is no way near what you’d expect from this level of hotel.

Save your money and stay at the nearest Holiday Inn.

Great location. In normal times it would have been perfect. Unfortunately there was hotel construction Mon-Sat 10am to 4pm and it was very noisy and disruptive. You couldn't sit in the lounge and have a conversation it was that bad.

Simply the best hotel experience we've ever enjoyed (and we've enjoyed a lot). Everything from when you pull-up, check-in, breakfast (seriously - best hotel breakfast we've enjoyed) and the service and amenities throughout the stay. Kids club is superb, pool is superb, food is superb, location is superb, view is superb. The best place we could want to be during Covid19 (which they handle professionally and calmly). There is honestly not one thing I can find to fault One and Only Cape Town.

Great location, pretty good breakfast, huge room. Bathtub sprayer leaked, and it was very difficult to keep the tub filled due to poor drain fixture. Most disappointing, in an expensive deluxe room was that there was no complimentary bottle of wine (which other guests in a cheaper room received) AND not even any wine for purchases in the mini bar. When I asked about the wine, the person showing me the room did not bother to try to correct the situation. Also, check in staff could not be bothered to try to accommodate a room request that most hotels would have been happy to try to accommodate. And the concierge made a minor goof up. Everything was overall fine, but not first class...like the prices.

The best experience we could have had staying in Cape Town. Excellent location, fantastic breakfast and large rooms. The staff doted over our 3 year old son and could not have been more helpful.
Excellent fitted Gym, towels and water on hand. A nice relaxing pool area, which provides an additional lunching option over the two internal restaurants, see if you can find the slightly hidden spa chair at the corner of the pool.
A great list of cocktails, can be had at the bar area, with its stunning views over Table Mountain.
The Nobo restaurant on-site serves excellent food. The second restaurant, Rubens could do with some finessing but adequate.

This is an attractive property with a central location, relatively close to the waterfront. The room was spacious and the mattress and pillows were highly comfortable. We had a clear view of Table Mountain. The in-house transportation was readily available and a concierge or desk manager was always on hand for any inquiries. The service in the bar area was slower than we could appreciate which was our only concern. We would definitely stay here again.

The rooms in the main tower have amazing views of Table Mountain, and I would recommend staying in the tower. The bar is one of the best hotel bars I have ever experienced, with an expansive window overlooking Table Mountain. The reception and Concierage staff are lovely. The only change I would make is opening the pool in the winter, with heated water. We had some beautiful days and it would have been nice to sit by the pool.

The service I received at this hotel exceeded that of any other I have ever been to. The concierge staff is beyond fantastic! They can pack and see a package is shipped off in a wink of an eye. I received mine only a couple of days after I returned. They also helped me with prebooking for a trip to Robben Island, shopping and restaurants. When I visit a place for a short period of time, I want to make the most of my time and they made sure that happened.Kudos to One & Only Cape Town! You are the best!

The Perfect Holiday!

It started from the airport with Valentine, who patiently waited, for us to exit the airport, for approximately an hour all the while holding a sign with our name on it. He never once showed any disdain:) Then the taxi driver drove us safely to our hotel while having a meaningful conversation. The door man whose name I can't remember, tall blade black man welcomed us by opening our doors with a smile. He knew our names and addressed us by such for the entire stay. Mandee is the concierge every hotel needs! He pays attention to every detail and covers all the bases, even things you don't foresee. Mandee is the best! Gabriel, a very attentive and astute gentleman, made this vacation extremely enjoyable for us. He always provided us service with a smile. He helped us every step of the way with information and guidance to authentic African cultural eateries and experiences. Vladish was my capacino guru. He made sure we had our morning coffee and breakfast daily. I wish I could've \"Packed him in my suitcase back to New York City:)\" Christian, thanks for the quick resolution, warm hugs to you:). I will come back to this hotel again anytime I come to visit South Africa! My only regret is not having the time to eat at chef Ruben's restaurant. The most amazing thing about the One and Only is the level of service ... it seemed that from the moment I checked in every employee greeted me by name. The location is ideal - near the Victoria and Albert Waterfront - and the rooms are what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. I loved Nobu restaurant and Rubins was also very good

Top end hotel in the heart of the safe and well-maintained Waterfront area which lives up to its name. Breakfast is superb; kids club is a great touch and service standards are high. Must be up there with the nicest large urban hotels anywhere in the world. Only wish its prices were more in line with local economy and not international tourism market - there are not many places where the room costs 10 times the price of a nice dinner in a top restaurant.

We could not have stayed at a better hotel. Great location with great views of table mountain and minutes walk from the V&A Waterfront and the City sight seeing hop on/off main station.
The customer service and friendliness we experienced was outstanding. It's clear this hotel takes pride in how it treats its customer, all the way from walking up to the entrance to the moment you leave at the end of your stay.
they go out of their way to help and ensure you enjoy the stay. And they even managed to recommend and get us into some restaurants that were booked out.

Super comfy, great service, but touristy location

The hotel is lovely and the staff extremely accommodating. The area, while convenient, is not a favorite of ours personally purely because it is quite touristy, but the hotel was just what we needed for this particular trip. Truly the only somewhat disappointing thing about the stay was the quality of the food we had. We had room service nightly, (unfortunately my husband was sick during the stay so sadly missed out on the many fabulous restaurants in Cape Town). We were initially encouraged as the menu is more extensive than most hotels with the added bonus of an onsite Nobu, however the quality of the food was disappointing to us. The food we ordered just was not very good flavor-wise.

One other thing, not major at all but inconvenient... During our 4 night stay, we soon learned none of the 4 phones in the room could receive calls, though we could call out. This meant room service could not call us back, the concierge was unable to reach us when we had a delivery, etc. While they tried fixing it one day, the techs never returned, even after two follow up requests.

Really Changed

This in the past has been my go to place to stay. The overall experience has really dropped. At check in I was told I was upgraded. However, when I got to my room it looked like I was downgraded. I booked an Island Superior King Bed Room. The bed was not a King. Then one of sinks was plugged. Then the cleaning staff didn't refill toilet paper and never dried the floor in shower. So then had to call an request toilet paper. Lastly, the safe quit working and all our items were stuck in safe. The security staff had to come and drill our safe. Proceeding to take two hours. Do I need to say more. It was a dreadful stay.

Just got home from my trip to South Africa . I usually don't comment on past hotels but in this case I feel the hotel is truly a property that deserves it. This is possibly the finest hotel that I ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive to the moment you depart the staff makes you feel like you the most important guest staying there.
