I had a truly wonderful stay at Cape Diem Lodge. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed and cared for, and I’d especially like to highlight the night porter, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable. His attentiveness and warmth made a big difference in my stay.

The location was perfect—tucked away on a quiet, secluded street that gave me a sense of privacy, yet just a short walk to shops, the pier, and plenty of restaurants. I really appreciated having that balance of calm and convenience.

My room was excellent. The layout was unique and interesting, but also very comfortable, with everything I needed to feel at home.

Overall, Cape Diem Lodge offered a mix of charm, comfort, and exceptional service. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town and look forward to staying again.

A lovely greeting from Carly on arrival with the offer of complimentary refreshments and nibbles which was very nice. Parking was excellent as we were able to make use of the garage throughout our stay.

Very comfortable room and bathroom with excellent shower and bath (albeit we didnt use the bath). The only downside was the lack of storage in the room which was a bit tight.

We were offered a late checkout on our room on the last day by Carly which was very useful and appreciated.

Up a pretty steep hill, it is about 15 minutes to walk down to the V&A and other restaurants, plus a Woolworths (M&S) at the end of the street.

Such a great stay at this cute property! The house is super old with amazing high ceilings and hard wood floors. Bianca was amazing and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Check out this gem in Green Point.

Vashna was the manager and she checked in with us to ensure we had all the information and suggestions for a great day…. Such as restaurants, things to do and even got us a driver to hire for the day to take us sight seeing and hiking up around Cape Hope. I felt very taken care of. The wifi was great in our room and the little fridge with wine and beer was great too! The room was clean and i took advantage of the big bathtub including the bath salts 2 of the 5 nights we were there. Thank you so much Vashna and team!

Truly magical experience

Amazing! I have to say it was above and beyond my expectations. I arrived late in the night (11pm) and the staff, specifically Vashna, was so helpful in helping me arrange an airport pickup. They were on time and it was the most comfortable ride and great way to begin my trip. Upon arrival I got a personalized welcome and tour and welcome drink. The lodge is better than the pictures. With only 6 rooms, it’s very intimate and you get the utmost service.

The breakfast in the morning was so fresh and delicious. The staff knew you by name and it was such a great feeling.

My room opened up to the terrace by the pool and it was a nice treat to see the sunrise and sunset each day.

The room was super cute. I had the lofted bed one and it was a fun experience. A couple of things though, I’m 5’5” and I was able to stand up straight, but anyone over that may need to for sure hunch a little at the top so be mindful of that. Also, there’s no iron/ironing board in the room, so just ask for it and they will bring it to you. I found this to be the case in all hotels I stayed in in SA.

Best experience. Would totally recommend. It was close to everything. And the staff was great. They also helped me arrange a full day Cape Town tour and I had an amazing time!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The service was faultless. from the second we checked in, until we left the hosts made us feel so welcome and provided us with lots of tips/ suggestions and ideas for places to go/ see and eat. The Room and hotel is beautifully designed with lots of character and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a choice of a hot or cold menu. We were within walking distance of the lovely V&A waterfront and easy enough to get anywhere else in Cape Town. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in Cape Town. It was in a wonderful location within walking distance to the V and A waterfront. It was also down the street from some awesome restaurants. Cape Diem Lodge provided breakfast every morning which was a perk and there was free parking. Our room was spacious. We had a fabulous time in Cape Town and would recommend Cape Diem Lodge to anyone. Thanks for a great stay!!!

We stayed in Cape Diem for 3 nights towards the end of our holiday in South Africa.
Our stay was largely pleasant, upon our entrance we were greeted with drinks and an involved discussion of what there was to do and how to go about it. But that soon dropped off and issues we had and the way they were dealt with ruined our experience and left us feeling like we had overpaid on more than one occasion.
The television in our bedroom had no sound. We asked that this get looked at and we were left with a note that the TV was tested with the DVD player, that the sound worked and that if we wanted to watch TV we had to rewire it to the box. I had already attempted to rewire it previously. I attempted to rewire the cables to the TV box and it continued to not work. I can only speculate that it was the TV box that was broken. No attempt was made to compensate us for having broken equipment in the room.
Similarly, on our penultimate day we had provided the laundry to be done, in an obvious rush, under the advice that if we wanted the laundry done same day we needed to provide it in the morning. The laundry was not provided the same day and the explanation was given that we did not specify that it needed to be. This resulted in us being late out the next morning, on our final day, and we were not able to do everything we wanted to. As with the TV issue, an excuse was made and an apology was given, but there was no real effort made to make the situation right.

AMAZING stay near V&A waterfront in Cape Town!

Perfect central location in quiet neighborhood

We had a great stay at Cape Diem Lodge. Perfect location in Green Point area. Short walk to Waterfront and many great restaurants. Staff was attentive and welcoming, and site is very secure. We were there during winter so unfortunately were not able to take advantage of the lovely pool area. Breakfast was great. Internet worked well and was fast. Our room was fine, though bed was in loft and overall a bit cramped compared to other rooms and it was a little loud when others came in the front door but not a big deal. Another in our party had the front suite and it was large and very nice. The rooms outside of the main house looked great as well. Nice common areas both inside and out. We had a car, and although all the garage parking spaces were being used on our visit, we parked right outside on the street without problems. Poor selection of TV channels if that is important to you. But for the most part an amazing value for money and I would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay in a great location

Friendly owner and staff. We were given a warm welcome with our choice of complimentary drinks. Delicious breakfast with many options. Safe parking available in garage. Very nice, clean room and good location to restaurants and the V&A Waterfront.
Just a couple things that could be improved upon: our room was extremely humid - ventilation could be improved. Also, there is very minimal sound insulation - you could hear any and all noises from people talking in the lobby and the staff working in the kitchen. If you're a sensitive sleeper, this could pose a problem if your room is near the lobby.
Also, it's great that there is free wifi but it was only available in the lobby, which is a bit inconvenient.
Overall, a nice place to stay.

We had a week here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is a great place to stay within an easy walk of the V&A Waterfront and all it has to offer. The rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. The Owner (Daniel) and all the staff are really helpful and friendly.
Daniel organised a number of trips and taxis for us, all with a really professional company, which were all really good.
The Hotel's facilities were great and the pool area was modern and a really relaxing area for chilling out after a day out sight-seeing.
We will be using Cape Diem again when we come back to Cape Town.

When we had some special requirements in room amenities they were quick to offer help and solutions.
Wifi had some issues which were being addressed.

Loved this place the staff are great there is a friendly guard on at night there to help and watch over the property. The breakfast is amazing only a 5 minute walk to the waterfront with heaps of shopping and food. Some nice restaurants down the street also. My only gripe is there is no door between bedroom and shower and toilet so it's a bit open but if you can get past that it's a beautiful place I would stay again

Ideal Location close to the V&A Waterfront

My wife and I stayed at Cape Diem for 10 days in November 2014. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Daniel and Alexandra at Cape Diem. Upon arrival we were greeted with refreshments until our room was ready. They put a great deal of effort in planning our itinery for the 10 days stay in Cape Town including booking trips, taxis and restaurants for us which really enabled us to make the best of our time. The staff in the guest house are marvellous and a credit to the business. The guest house itself is clean and managed to a very high standard. Our room was at the front and was big and comfortable. You can hear the coming and goings in morning from guests but really that did not bother us at all. We would definitely recommend it.

The Cape Diem Lodge is an amazing guest house. Beautifully decorated and in lovely surrounds. The staff could not do enough to help even the security guard at night was a pleasure to meet. We were able to have our breakfast on the terrace, which made it perfect, with a wonderful selection of food and drink. We would thoroughly recommend the Cape Diem to anyone visiting Cape Town.

Amazing location with super friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed for four nights here and it surpassed our expectations. It's location can't be beat. Within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront and one block from Main St., which means hundreds of restaurants, bars, galleries, shops, markets, etc.. The place is a guest-house with really cozy minimalist desig. Our room was big,comfortable and really appealing to the eyes. Attention to details are impecable. The only downside (and it has been mentioned here before) was the toilet: The shower and toilet areas share the same sliding glass door, though the shower also has a curtain. If you slide the door to the toilet area it gets really tight so much so that your knees will bump the door. However, I consider this nothing more than a minor inconvenience in an otherwise fantastic stay. They have a pool, terrace loung area, living room with books, to relax or you can bring your bottle and enjoy the sunset. The breakfast was great too. Since the moment we arrived the staff was very attentive to our every need. I 100% recommend this hotel for couples vacationing in Cape Town.

A gem right near the V&A waterfront

If you were to walk but Cape Diem, you probably wouldn't notice it, but once instead its gates, you'll realize you've happened upon a hidden gem in the middle of Cape Town! Built inside an old farmhouse (the floors and ceilings are all original), but B&B is as charming as it is clean. The owner is great and so are all of the staff. the location is within (safe!) walking distance to the V& A waterfront and to Cape Town Central (if you want to walk off your delicious breakfast). Great value for a great place!

Hotel is in a great area with only a 10 min walk to the V&A waterfront were all the trips and restuarants are situated.

Hotel owners and staff cannot do enough for you if you have any problems or need some advise on trips and where to eat they will tell you where to go and book everything for you.

A welcome change to large hotels

Arriving in Cape Town late at night after 16 hours of flights it was great to have them meet me at the airport, include a glass of wine as part of the check, and the sandwiches I'd arranged with them for when I checked in were delicious. Staff is very friendly and willing to help with everything. Breakfasts and coffee fantastic. I enjoyed the atmosphere of it being a smaller place, spending time in the common areas in the evenings instead of my own room. All sorts of small attention to details, like the afternoon tea and jugs of water left out. Location is pretty good, being a short walk to V&A. The only problem was the rooms, while generally being pretty clean, didn't have clean floors - they failed the bare foot test with my feet always ending up covered in dust and dirt.

Nicely renovated guest house in a great location in Camps Bay. We walked to the downtown core and V&A Waterfront. Hosts are helpful with advice and suggestions. Loft room is small and not so convenient for two people. Ask for one of the larger rooms.

Fantastic,friendly and welcoming hotel

The welcome at the Cape Diem was second to none. The owners and staff, without exception couldn't do enough to please.
It is an easy 10 min walk to the Waterfront, made slightly more arduous by being up hill for the return, though marginally so until the final 50 meters or so.
I would not hesitate to recommend this guest house, and have already started telling my friends that the should seriously consider it as their base for a visit to the wonderful Cape Town

Cape Diem was really nice, very pleasant to staying in, very pleasing on the eye, comfortable their breakfast was very nice several choice of cereal, lots of fresh chopped friut, juice and whatever you ordered for a hot breakfast. Toast bacon eggs mushrooms grilled tomatoe, as well as a more continental variety of cheeses muffins croisants and toppings. Of course tea, cappucino as well. The staff were very helpful. We were there at the beginning of August so dinner was not available but I think it might be during the summer months. It was in a quiet location just up from Main Road, it was a brisk walk to the waterfront over a couple of main roads and straight up Portswood Road and just around to the right it was really quite handy.

A great location, near to the V&A waterfront but on a quiet and secluded street. What a great find

I recently won an all expense paid trip to Cape Town which included a 4 night stay at the 5-star Cape Royale hotel. My wife and I decided to add on a few nights to the trip and I found the Cape Diem Lodge while browsing through the internet. What a great find!! Although it is not your typical 5-star hotel as it is more of a B&B, I did not feel that we dropped down a notch in service, quality or atmosphere. This place is peaceful and tranquil. The owner is a wonderful person who gives you your space and does not overwhelm you like some of the luxury hotels do. It is a great location close to the V&A Waterfront and city center. A beautiful pool and wonderful breakfast. A definite must stay for anyone traveling to this exciting city.

Home away from home

My home away from home, I've no other words to describe my stay at Cape Diem Lodge. The excellent experience already started at arrival at the airport when the more than kind driver of my transfer (arranged by the hotel) awaited me. Despite my late arrival in Cape Town, the reception at the hotel by the night porter was also perfect and made me feel really welcome. An experience that continued the following days.
From the staff at breakfast and in the office until the gardener and housekeeping, everybody was so friendly and always willing to help and make my stay as enjoyable as possible. My room (number 3) was also excellent and absolutely value for money with a very comfortable bed, spacious shower, more than enough seating options and this all nice and clean. Breakfast offered more than enough options, perhaps even more than can be expected for a small sized hotel. In the afternoon some snacks and drinks are available as well.
The overall 'vibe' of the hotel is really nice as well, very comfortable, modern yet stylish and with respect for the age and style of the building. Because of the size, the hotel also has a sort of cosy feeling.
Parking of my rental car wasn't an issue either and is perfectly safe. Both across of the entrance along the street as well as in the parking garage is space available.
All in all I would definitely recommend a stay at Cape Diem Lodge!
