The moment I arrived at Cape Grace, the staff greeted me with a warm smile and genuine care. Lucky and the entire staff at the hotel made my sister and me feel as if we were at home with family. Never before had I stayed at a hotel where I felt as comfortable in a familial environment—the room accommodations, the restaurant, and the drivers were all amazing! I can't say enough about our phenomenal experience. We are already making plans to return next September. I love, love this hotel.

Luxury at its finest

Great location, beautifully appointed, classy and luxurious finishings, and great service from reception to concierge to restaurant team.

The rooms are spacious. There’s a separate dressing room and a big full bathroom. Le Labo bath products and room scent. We had a harbour view and it was stunning. Easy 5m walk to the V&A. Beautiful breakfast spread and views.

Perfect trip to Cape Town at Cape Grace

What a beautiful stay. The suite was fabulous. The location was perfect and convenient and safe. A five minute walk to the V and A with great shopping. Cape grace took care or our tours to the wine region and to see the penguins. Samatha the concierge also reserved a lunch for us in Stellenbosch. She also lead us to a beautiful Tanzanite store in the waterfront. I bought a necklace for my daughter and I am having stones cut for a ring to complete a set they are making for me Plantandia is the shop. When we left to go to the airport I realized I had left an expensive jacket in the room and Samantha fetched it and we had it brought to the airport. The overall stay was 10 stars.

Wonderful hotel! Phenomenal staff and service! Among the best in the world. Friendly, warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. This is the only hotel I would stay at in Cape Town!! Be aware of cancellation policy which is about a month—only downside.

The location is excellent (2 minute walk to v&a marketplace, watershed, mall and numerous restaurants) and view of the waterfront lovely!
Breakfast was delicious - there was buffet and then an extensive list of ala carte dishes.
Turn down service was great - we got a little gift every day and the sweets were perfect to have upon coming back to the room!
They also had a free chauffeur service that could take you to any location within 10km. We used it to go to Table Mountain and to dinners. They pick up, too!
They only missed taking out the garbage in the toilet once after cleaning but other than that, our stay was perfect!

A special place

The Cape Grace makes one feel special from the moment of entry. The staff really make you feel as if they know you and care about your stay. Everyone there from the doormen to the concierge, the reception to the servers, are fabulous.The location is perfect, right on the V&A Waterfront. The decor is sublime and the rooms are lovely, from all the decorative touches to the comforts and amenities. Our stay at the Cape Grace capped off 3 weeks in South Africa, and it was the perfect way to end the trip. Whenever we come back to Cape Town, we will stay at the Cape Grace. It truly is exceptional.

Fabulous First Time Visit

We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at the Cape Grace the 1st week of October 2017. Due to an issue with my wife’s luggage, our arrival into Cape Town got off to a disappointing start. All of that changed when we arrived at the hotel late night and were met by Noxy. She was so warm and welcoming and immediately uplifted our mood. Then she upgraded us to a top floor room with a terrace. The room was comfortable, spacious, and beautifully decorated but really what makes the hotel is the staff. The staff was genuinely some of the nicest people we have come across in our travels and were all concerned with making sure we had the best possible stay. There were a few in particular that we’d like to recognize. Noxy, as mentioned already, for the warmest welcome we’ve ever had at a hotel and her overall care for guest satisfaction. Lauren, for her friendly demeanor and genuine sympathy for our situation and the recommendations on where to find some essentials. Cemone, for her assistance throughout the trip in making arrangements and answering all of our questions. Finally, there is Progress who is one of the hotel’s chauffeurs. He made every ride a pleasure and we thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Cape Town and his family. All of the staff was warm and welcoming and each day we truly felt that we were “home.” Everyone was always willing to go above and beyond and we cannot express how professional yet friendly the hotel staff was. Disappointing for the price

More like a 3 star. Room was old, dark, no balcony, overlooking a car park. Pool small and crowded. Internet patchy. Service good. Forget about using the house car ever. R600 stolen from the room. Managers cordial but totally unhelpful for anything. Really - you can stay at the One and Only for the same price and enjoy massive modern rooms, a huge pool, beautiful views and balcolnies. The Cape Grace needs to modernise and up its game fast.

Everything was fabulous except the concierge service. Could not get us intoNobu however we were successful. Recommended a restaurant that Bizerca Bistro which had mediocre food and a very disappointing wine list. I would not recommend this restaurant Nobus was awesome as was the Greek Fisherman.

The cape grace Is a very special hotel. I have traveled all over the world for business and pleasure and I believe the cape grace to. E one of the top hotels in the world. The interior decor is warm, inviting and very special. The staff is amazing, they almost seem to know what your needs are even before you ask!!!!! The food was 5 star, in room dining was wonderful especially when you are tired and hungry!!! I could go on and on but I will simply say, when visiting Capetown SA you must visit the Cape Grace, it is an experience that is not to me missed!!!!

In the perfect place

Beautiful hotel in every way. The staff are the best I've ever known. Nothing is too much trouble and they all have a very friendly manner. The Concierge staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. The Hotel is perfect for ease of trips around the Cape and is only 5 mins walk from the V & A Waterfront. If I had to think of one thing that I was disappointed in, it was that the pool was very small. No good for swimming, more of a plunge pool but still very relaxing. Food was wonderful. Our room was fantastic, very good size, lovely marble bathroom with separate shower, dressing room and Juliet balcony with fantastic views. Their is everything available to you that you would ever need - umbrellas ( not that it rained ! ) books, magazines,toiletries, hair dryer,robes and so much more. The doormen were lovely and always said \"Welcome Home \" The whole place had a wonderful ambiance. Oh and the breakfasts were to die for! I can definitely recommend this Hotel.

The gem of Cape Town lodging

This was the gem of Cape Town. The staff was 5-star in every capacity. We were treated like \"royalty\" there. We celebrated our 25th anniversary there and were spoiled by the staff and the chef for our dinner in the Signal restaurant. The view of Table Mountain was superlative. The location could not be more perfect for enjoying Cape Town. Arranging transport and personal tours was a breeze. Parking was simple and secure. Of all of our lodging in South Africa on this trip this was my personal favorite. My wife enjoyed the spa treatment. The harbor seals in the marina were most entertaining. We walked to the safest and best shopping malls and stores for tourists and locals alike from the Cape Grace Hotel.

Shameful for 5 stars. Tick was found .Don't ever stay there.!

We are frequent travelers who spent more than 7 months out of a year staying all around the world. After reading good reviews, we picked this 5 stars hotel and with regrets , we were so frightened that we had to checked out early.
We were offered a complimentary massage for given a room with construction noise which started at 7am. After the massage we went back to our room to take a shower, I heard a scream from the bathroom. A tick was biting and stuck on my husband back while he was showering.
The worst part was the GM denied any responsibility to how or why the tick got onto him. She even told us that since we just came from the Safari just 2 days ago , it could have been brought in with us! This is no roadside motel, we paid 500 USD per night. Safety and cleanliness are the top priorities when you are traveling. I would like to share our experiences, so others would never have to go through something like us.

The Cape Grace should be called the Cape Gracious. Well located, clean, well designed and furnished. Wonderful antiques all over. Good restaurant and bar. The bar, presided over by the irrepressible Happy should be called \"The Happy Zone.\" The most engaging, most competent, friendliest staff imaginable. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home.

This hotel is very comfortable & sophisticated. The staff are excellent & we had a very nice room overlooking Cape Town Waterfront. My only complaint is that the pool area is very small & claustrophobic & the swimming pool itself is tiny for a hotel of this calibre.

My husband and I cannot rate the Cape Grace highly enough. We recently stayed here with my parents on their first trip to South Africa. The V&A location was ideal for them as they felt safe walking around and there was lots to see and do - including the Volvo Ocean Race while we were there.

Our rooms were huge and having a separate room with wardrobes and space for suitcases meant that the bedroom itself felt very relaxed and homely. The bathrooms were wonderful - probably the best quality and design I have ever come across.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic and we also enjoyed dinner at the hotel's Signal restaurant one evening, which was excellent quality and very good value (although admittedly helped by the strength of sterling against the rand).

Finally, we could not have asked for better service. Everyone was very helpful and polite and the style of the hotel (excellent amenities but personal service) really hits the spot.
