Very clean and spacious room. Staff were very good, always checking to see if everything was OK. Breakfast was also excellent with lots of choices. Would definitely recommend as it is in a great location.

Location is terrible and all Ubers could barely find it - it is promoted as close to waterfront and it’s not- can not walk to anything - You have to go back outside of lobby to get an elevator for your room - if it’s raining you’re wet - stains on chairs, crunchy rugs etc- the place is beat -It’s cheap but I felt I had to write my first bad review

The room was very nice and reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. The buildings seem to be a mix of hotel and residential and are quite spaced out. The pool looked quite inviting but there were no facilities such as toilets or changing area at the pool itself. We had a drink and snack at the bar, and enjoyed breakfast in the cafe, both were nice but the outside area here could have benefited from a jet wash. The location of the hotel felt a little remote although we were able to walk, in daylight, to the waterfront (around 25 minutes). For all the above reasons, and because the rate seemed really quite expensive for Capetown, I can only give a four star rating despite the nice room.

Excellent location near the conference centre, a short trip to V&A Waterfront and city centre. The Hop on hop off boat stops at the hotel - which is a great way to get to the Waterfront. Only downside was dim lighting in the room - typical of so many hotels

Modern, stylish and comfortable room and restaurant with great service. Beautiful views of the mountain. I stayed there because I was catching the train to Elgin in the early morning, so was brilliant for that. Was not very easy to get to the waterfront and had to get a taxi back. Would definitely stay there again.

They had somehow double booked my room and so I was sent to a sister hotel - onyx
I don’t really think the Onyx is of the same calibre as the harbour bridge. A bit downtrodden and in need of a revamp. Windows dirty/scratched, air con either not working or just awkward to switch on/off, door didn’t lock, so my gripe isn’t really with the harbour bridge but rather with the downgrade I was given owing to a double booking

Difficult to access after 8pm. Gated access closes at 8pm and then you need an Uber or taxi to get to the premises.
Bathroom had natural light spill into bedroom which was not great.

The room was not clean. There was a horrible smell of some kind of strong perfume that had been used to try to cover up the odor of cigarette smoke, and who knows what else, which pervaded the room. The cigarette smoke would’ve been easier to tolerate than the sickening perfume. Opening the windows to try to mitigate resulted in so much street noise that you could not sleep.

Although the view from our window was unbelievable the room itself although spacious was very tired. The laminate on the cupboards and desk was peeling and the carpet needed replacing.
The location was great - only a 15 min (max) walk to the Waterfront or the hop on hop off bus. However the canal gate closed at 8pm so getting back from the Waterfront and dinner meant catching a cab or Uber.
The WIFI was sketchy at best in the dining area and reception but NON-existent in our room.
The lock on our door was a problem and at least twice we needed staff to use a key to let us in and had at least 6 sets of swipe cards produced over a 7 day stay.
The staff did their best to alleviate our concerns.
The breakfast was good and the staff there were exceedingly attentive which was great.

The hotel was great, lovely location right on the canal. The breakfast was included which was nice and the staff were all lovely. The staff made suggestions about what we should do and places to avoid, especially at night.

We felt very safe on the hotel grounds and felt safe getting our room cleaned, oppose to other experiences in other hotels in Cape Town.

I can’t express enough how nice the staff were, especially one of the managers a tall gentleman who always wore a suit.

Perfect stay

The room was very clean and the hotel well located (15min walk from the V&A). Breakfast was super good and all personnel I met were very kind and professional. The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom. I appreciate that it is accessible with handle bars etc., but the fact that it has no glass, curtain, wall or any division with the rest of the bathroom meant that every shower would flood everything. Other than that, a very nice choice of hotel in Cape Town.

The staff at Harbour Bridge Hotel and Suites were personable and friendly. The room was clean and the hotel was convenient to tourist sites. I was especially impressed by how caring the staff were. The managers personally introduced themselves to me to help ensure that my proposal to my partner went as smoothly and romantically as possible. I unfortunately got sick on my trip, the restaurant staff expressed concern and were thoughtful. They aided in my comfort and helped to ensure a speedy recovery. It seemed as if all the staff members recalled us by name. I have never experienced a hotel that cared so much and made our stay feel at home.

Great location not far from V and A Waterfront. Complimentary parking was an added bonus. Loved this clean, modern facility. Great breakfast. Some better instructions for the laundry machine are in order. No one knew where the tap was for the machine, neither did housekeeping. We all thought the machine was actually broken. We eventually found the tap through trial and error. We also had to google instructions for the machine as we could not get it open at times due to child locks.

My wife and I stayed here on a recent trip to sightsee in Cape Town. The room was very nice (we did not have a full suite, just the basic room). We had plenty of space, the bed was comfy, and there is a great view of the canal our room. The service was excellent. The thing we enjoyed the most was the breakfast that was included with our room rate. The food was great everyday and got our day off on the right foot. It is in a great location, walking distance to the V&A waterfront where all the shops and restaurants are. Here is my one word of advice for people staying at this hotel: The quickest and easiest way to walk to the V&A waterfront is to use the canal walkway. However, they close gates to the canal walkway at 7 PM. If you want to walk to the waterfront after 7 PM, the walk is much longer. The saving grace is that an Uber is extremely inexpensive to get down to the V&A waterfront from this property.

Stayed here for 1 night in March 19 between flights in/out of Cape Town. Hotel itself was really clean and tidy seemed quite new or recently refurbished. During the day location is great, with a small walk along the canal to the V&A etc. not sure I would do that walk at night but they do have very visible security.

A new hotel built on the canal by the harbour. It has a local water taxi to take you to the V&A waterfront. The suite was awesome and very well planned out with every amenity. It was well worth the extra money. We were facing the harbour and it has a road running along the front which is very busy ask so ask for a canal view. Overall hotel spotless and very very friendly staff and would definitely stay again THANKYOU AHA.

We had a great stay at Harbour Bridge Suites, and I would definitely stay there again. The service in the restaurant, however, both at dinner and at breakfast, was extremely slow, and at breakfast - they only replenish the serving dishes when the food is completely finished, so you then end up having to wait to get eggs etc. This needs to be looked at.

Great Hotel needing its surroundings finished

The hotel itself was fantastic for a stay in Cape Town. It was about a 10 minute walk from the V&A which is great to avoid the constant buzz of the area over night but easy to and enjoy during the day and evening. It was clean, light and airy, and the staff were more than happy to help whenever needed. When the surrounding areas are complete this will be a fantastic hotel.

Positives - reception staff very friendly and greeted me nicely on arrival, rooms excellent, good location.

Negatives - wifi was hopeless, and restaurant staff need a kick up the backside. Had dinner at 9.15pm accompanied by the noise of staff setting up the room for the next day's breakfast. Had to ask for coffee both mornings as the urn was empty.

The hotel was nice staff were wonderful especially Jo on reception who was fabulous.
Rooms were great bed and shower, were very nice.
Food choice and bar choice not so good. The swimming pool was closed for 4 days, on the hottest days I was there.

To far from waterfront with no direct route, so had to get a cab there and back. Only R50 but a women on her own coming back not such fun.

When the room is set up as a twin, as it was for myself and my adult son, the lack of bathroom privacy is an uncomfortable inconvenience. Most people, I think, prefer not to sleep against a half wall with a bathtub on the other side. Spoilt the experience.

Great Hotel to stay at if you are attending the ICC as it has a walkway all the way to the Convention Centre and its only 7 min walk. Room was excellent : new fittings, great size bed and room clean and neat. Just be careful to book a room facing the mountain and convention centre, else if you take a ocean facing room, your view is of containers being moved.

Nice hotel close to V&A Waterfront

We had booked a basic twin-bed room. Upon arrival, we discovered that the bathing tub and toilet were part of the room as it was an open plan room. Upon request, we were moved to another room with a living room and kitchen facilities. Hotel staff was nice and courteous to explain what was included in the stay and what was not, they helped us book tours etc. I wish that room service and breakfast were offered so we could have used these options. We ended up eating outside through out our stay.

Had a great stay at Harbour Bridge - very clean, affordable and nicely decorated. Restaurant food was pretty good and affordable. Room was very practical with a huge shower and everything you need: hair dryer, AC, coffee/tea set, etc. Neighborhood was so-so. The hotel is in a business/industrial area, so it takes some walking to get to something other than offices and banks, but this probably makes it a better deal than other waterfront hotels. Water taxi makes regular stops at hotel - $4 US/day to get to the part of waterfront with stores and restaurants - taxi runs until about 7 p.m.

I booked this because it sounded like it may be in a new hip area. It's on a working dock that has no direct path to VA Waterfront even though close. If they had a guarded path it would be a huge plus. It's in between the highway and the dock. That made it slightly sketchy and not possible to walk at night. The place also only looks like the photo in the middle. They refurbed an old place. It's not all modern. They share the rooms with full time residents. They leave laundry drying on their patios. The rooms are ok. Modern, but, poorly constructed so it's like lipstick on a pig. Some of the furniture and rugs were dirty. Stained towels and comforter made it seem like a motel. Wind blew under the door. Elevator is scratched. Only 10 TV channels. I moved up to a place that cost three times as much to be at the VA. Probably should have stayed here and used cabs. Not much action at night at VA and that place wasn't pristine either. Staff was good.
