Pullman is strategically located despite its neighborhood a little bit scary late night.
The property is operating in a high peak period with only 1 social lift for guests and a second one shared by guests and the staff.
Very poor service at pool restaurant, front desk and house keeping. Big lack of attention to some points like towels replacement (even after a call to front desk, a visit from h ouse keeping and a thirdly request) and liquid sope dispenser at shower.
But the worst experience came from the laundry.
Without any disclaimer, their laundry has a ridiculous policy of payment in order to get your item delivered back to your room. If you don’t ask for it at front desk (and pay), you’ll never receive your clothes back. Never see anything similar to that anywhere around the world.
In brief, this is not what we expect when we book a mid scale Accor brand like Pullman.

Amenities were great. There was a strong smell of propane on the floor we stayed. I advised the staff who seemed to try and find the issue but didn’t. The drink at the rooftop bar took forever to receive and were not very good.

The hotel was in a good location. Handy for the city centre and you could walk to the V&A area. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the area. Our room was a little unkept and we were moved to a better room. Thank you for that. TV had nothing on in English worth watching no movies and could not stream. The Executive Lounge was a bit hit and miss. Sometimes plently of food on in the morning sometimes not. Same in the evening between 5pm and 7pm. Could do with more information about what is included and when food will be available.

Seen so many negative reviews of the hotel BUT we can't compliment them enough. Since our arrival till we left we had such pleasant experience with the staff, the hotel all over as well as our room were clean.
The room was spacious and we loved the shower.
Dinner was fantastic as well as Breakfast.

We had a wonderful time! However; there are a few issues that prevents me from giving 5 stars. The AC wasn’t working properly therefore our room was hot. The parking situation to get to and from the rooftop was quite a task, the parking elevator was not working; there was black stuff between the tiles in the shower- a little bleach would take care of that and finally the food on the 2nd floor was somewhat subpar. Nonetheless; the was wonderful and professional at all times. Special shoutout to the group at the pool bar. The location of the hotel is great and we really appreciate the recommendations that were given to us- we visited almost all of them.
We had a wonderful time; if it weren’t for those minor issues ; I wouldn’t hesitate to give 5 stars.

Pullman Capetown City Centre is in a fantastic location. A short stroll to Capetown Station, Shopping Centres, bars & restaurants. Courtesy shuttle bus is a bonus to VA Waterfront. Big clean room with a cosy bed. The staff are incredibly friendly, always looking out for you & so accommodating. I would highly recommend this property!

The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre and within walkable distances to many points of interest. Staff is friendly, especially at the restaurant. There are no major issues with the stay but several areas could be improved. First, the double bed was made of two small single beds. It is not very comfortable because of the gap in the middle. The very reason I booked Pullman is that I had good stay in other countries with comfortable beds but it was disappointing. Also, the room is quite small for a five star hotel. On the last day, some staff were upgrading the card access system on the door without prior notice. When I was doing my work in the hotel room, suddenly some people knocked the door twice and before I could answer the door, they started to open the door and test the card access. This is extremely unpleasant. There are other minor issues during my five day stay here. Overall, I don't think it is worth the five star rating or the money paid and hence I will think twice to book another stay at Pullman anywhere in the world.

Perfect last min booking!

I ended up at the Pullman hotel after my previous booking was cancelled without prior communication and was a perfect save. The staff were pleasant and super helpful and the room was so cozy. Although there was no consistency with placing portable water in the room it wasn’t much of an inconvenience because I could get water from the lobby bar.

When I saw the design of the room, I was sure it would be noisy: the need was next to the door. In fact, it was very tranquil. The room was large and in great condition. The walk-in shower was vast

Breakfast was amazing: an enormous buffet (with a daily chef’s special) and both waffle and egg stations. I wish there had been more vegan options, though

The gym is adequate with a good range of cardio, benches, free weights, exercise balls and mats

My two minor complaints: the common areas are kept much too cold. It’s uncomfortable and a waste of electricity in a country that doesn’t have any to waste. Checkout was a mess, slow and disorganised. My bill wasn’t right and nor were those of others. The people were still nice, though

Overall, I’d happily come back and it beats most Cape Town properties easily

Ignore the negative comments, this is angriest place to stay. The staff are wonderful and so helpful, the breakfast is good, rooms are nice and location is perfect. I saw comments about the lifts, this is only for the car park, the general lifts are fine and I had no issues at all.

So all in all a great place to stay and I would be back for sure.

Staff advised us that it was a Cape Town issue and not a hotel issue. Overall the stay was pleasant. The room was clean and our view was beautiful. I would stay here again in the future.

Proximity to all the interesting places in the city is the major recommendation of Radisson Blue Hotel & Residence. We could walk to District 6, the botanical gardens near Parliament, V&A Waterfront, and there are lots of restaurants in all directions within walking distance. Uber transportation was also super easy to get from and to the hotel.

Wanted the Radisson Blu at the Waterfront - not in the City .. wasn’t clear enough on the booking… got ripped off with Uni Cab… instead of Hotel offering free eve (as my room was not ready) for a 2.6 km ride got charged R70 in a cab with no meter.. wasn’t explained there was a cost ! There was a fire alarm drill / practise - was never informed about this…

Hotel is great but safety is a concern

The hotel itself was great. The staff is very friendly and food is good too. The only reason why I rated it lower is because the area around the hotel is not safe. We were told a previous guest had been mugged then a gentleman in our tour group was almost mugged 50 yards from the hotel. They have a free shuttle that will take you to and from the waterfront and it’s very safe there. Again, the hotel is wonderful. Just be forewarned. Most likely, all the hotels in the downtown area have the same problem.

Stayed 12 nights! My room on 11th floor was fine with partial views of Table Mountain and the Atlantic. There was only one lift working which resulted in some waiting and crowding. Breakfast was OK. Why can't we have real orange juice? Free parking was appreciated (separate lift). Got hassle walking back from Waterfront and on Long Street in the evenings. Recommend Madam Taitou Ethiopian restaurant on Long Street. Laundry service was not same day as stated.

Newer hotel that was very clean and friendly staffed. However, the area around it is very bad and dangerous. Just being out front for 5 minutes I got harassed several times. We only booked it because of a quick layover, so for that I guess it's okay. The restaurant had horrible reviews, we didn't go but looked and since there was no one eating there, we went to the Japanese restaurant across the street which was quite good

Most of the service is good. Maid service is lacking not sure how often they clean the bathroom floors. I have gone days without maid service. On many occasions I’ve had to request. I’ve run out of toilet paper, water and at the moment have only 2 towels.(1 bath & 1 hand). This is an issue as my shower leaks and the floor gets slippery. Poor drainage. Have no extra towels to soak up water. There is only 1 small garbage can. Nothing in the bathroom. I had to request a blow dryer. Very old and very loud.
My biggest complaint are the elevators. Waiting 15 minutes and longer is unacceptable. I’ve been told they are being fixed. Have been here several weeks and nothing. Taking the stairs down is dangerous. Once in stairwell there is only 1 exit. It is dark on some levels. This really is a bad scenario. Worse due to Covid and people are crowding the only operable elevator.

I'll never stay here again.

The room smelled like smoke/weed. You could tell they tried to get rid of the smell, but it's still very noticeable. There was also a wet spot on the carpet when we got to the room.

We wanted to order food, but our room didn't have a menu. When I phoned reception, I was told they are too busy, I need to come down and get a menu or she can read it to me. Which doesn't make sense, because she said she is busy, but she has time to read me a whole menu. I had to go get the menu myself. We ordered food just after 7 PM. I phoned at 8:05 PM to ask where the food was. We were told it should be there in 5 minutes. At 8:25 we still didn't have our food. I called to cancel the order.

The parking is also very inconvenient.

We had a few other options for around the same price, and I'm frustrated that I picked this hotel. I'll never go near it again.

The person at the front desk was Nikayla/Mikayla and James.

Do yourself a favor and book a different hotel.

Unpleasant Covid Staycation

Our stay wasn’t great. We recieved strange and under mediocre service which is detailed below:

1. The hotel is basically self service
2. Valet service was not operating as they let their drivers go during Covid
3. Porters weren’t available for Covid reasons but the other Radisson hotels allowed porters and valet parking
4. Out of 3 lifts, only 1 worked
5. We came home to uncleaned rooms twice
6. The TV didn’t work in the first room and most channels didn’t work in the second
7. On arrival our room was downgraded and when I complained, did we get the correct room
8. No manager, except for SIYA (Night manager) cared or worried about complaints. He handled and resolved ours where as the others didn’t do anything
9. The parking smelt of sewerage and we were expected to pay for it
10. Everytime the neighbor flushed the toilet, your room vibrated
11. NO sanitiser on floor 9 or the lifts
12. Lifts were crowded and rules were not adhered

I find the service and Accommodation NOT up to the other radisson blu standards in Cape Town - it wasn’t a friendly or comfortable stay. I am disappointed in the hotel and it’s ability to accommodate guests

It just wasn’t mentioned to us that there is a fee for parking and surprised by that when checking out.

Could not find my reservation

I was staying at Radisson just a few days ago, because I had to make a trip to somewhere else, and then came back to Cape Town for another night to stay at Radisson again. I got there at 10pm, they couldn’t find my booking and I shown them all the reservation details but they still couldn’t find. It was booked through Hotels.com with my friend, they found my friends booking but not mine. After a while they said they have a room for us but had to wait for another 15 mins for it. I told the manager that it was unacceptable because everything was paid in advance and they should have my booking in the system, and I have an early flight to catch. Then they said they have a room ready right away. I mean if there’s a room already prepared, then why make your return customer wait? That was not a good experience for me, and I have been booking through hotels.com for years and they never missed any of my reservations.

Nice hotel

Nice located hotel not too far from the Waterfront.
Internet was weak. The breakfast menu was good. However, the hotel managers need to learn not to smoke in non-smoking zones, in particular during breakfast.

My experience was not great at the Radisson. It was the first time I stayed there. The welcome and check in was good but went down from there.

On the first of Jan, when we ordered food, it arrived 1 1/2 hours later. I had to call to find out where my food was.

The bar / pool area was packed and doesn’t cater for many guests.

I requested for a laundry bag and form. When the lady came she had an attitude and didn’t bring the form.

Had personal valuables stolen my housekeeping/security staff. Do not stay at this hotel.

Staff are corrupt, avoid at all costs

What a Pleasure

The stay was amazing and far too short. The whole experience was a pleasure from check in to check out. Can only recommend that you stay if visiting Cape Town, I will definitely book again for next year.
