Our stay at The Capitol Mirage was great. The room was big & had a lot of things we didn't even know came with the room. There was a full kitchen & a washer & dryer, that really came in handy, a nice balcony too. Uber pick up is great for right outside the hotel. Table Mountain is only a 10-15 minute Uber ride from here, the Marina area is close by too. It's walking distance, but is an easy taxi ride as well. Basically, the hotel is very centrally located. Breakfast on the roof is a great way to start your day & the views are nice too. We ate at the Cattle Baron restaurant in the hotel & the food was exceptional. We had a table outside & it was a great way to end our trip. When we come back to Cape Town we'll be staying here again!!

From the moment I exited my Uber, to the second I walked out of the door to leave, this hotel and its staff was sheer excellence! The front doorman helped me with my luggage as I arrived, then I was greeted with the warmest and kindest smile by the front desk. The hotel was very clean and our room was modern and well-equipped with everything we needed. I have stayed at a lot of hotels over the years, but this is by far my favorite so far! We arrived a bit early and they were kind enough to allow us to check in. The bed was comfortable. We had a nice view of Table Top Mountain. The room was spectacular. From the rainfall shower head to the comfy robe and slippers. It was so convenient to have a washer/dryer in the room as well. However, what made this an excellent stay was the hotel front desk staff. They were always pleasant to speak with and very warm and helpful. I will never stay anywhere else when I visit Cape Town. This will be the only hotel I'll book going forward.

There are many things to do in the area and the buzzing V&A Waterfront is only around 20 minutes (on a slow and enjoyable walk) from the hotel.

The TV did not offer many channels, which was fine with us since we do not watch it that much especially on vacation but this could be slightly improved for those who would like to watch local TV stations.

The reception staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring Cape Town and was safe. The only downside is that rooms that face Table Mountain are noisy at night as they are on a busy street and the window soundproofing is not good.

The General manager (Mitch!), the front desk staff, porters, front door staff, cleaning staff were all amazing. Great breakfast options just across the road (both were fab) and well located if you don’t mind a 20 minute easy walk to the waterfront. However I especially booked this hotel for my last two days in Cape Town to enjoy the swimming pool but it's actually NOT part of the hotel and it is not really used. So disappointing. It's part of a bar / restaurant and I looked stupid when I came up with my towel. The swimming pool wasn't cleaned but I was still welcome to use it.

The hotel was clean comfortable and staff were really friendly. The decor is interesting as it's modern but a lot of the ceilings, including the one above my bed was unpainted concrete. The major warning is that it is situated close to a sizable mosque so I was woken up every morning at 5.00am as the very loud call to prayer was broadcast.

The rooms are very spacious and updated. The location is a shuttle ride away from the V &A Waterfront. Improvement is needed in the shuttle service. In the 2 days of my stay the shuttle drove past the stop and kept going and another was about 20 mins late. Overall an ok stay.

Good hotel with great views. Compared to the hotels I have been to, 4 is the overall max I can give them. Great location, close to Waterfront VA, free hourly shuttle. Can be very noisy due to unruly residents the hotel shares premises with at the building.

We really liked our stay at this hotel. The design was fabulous, room was beautiful, all the facilities were great. Had a quiet room on the 4th floor (the hotel only goes up to the 4th, above that is apartments). No noise from building work (other reviews have mentioned this but we didn't experience it). The Sky Bar is gorgeous with an amazing view over cape town. We had a nice view of table mountain from our room. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. There are three great restaurants attached to the hotel (Sky bar does food until 8pm, Cattle Barron downstairs does amazing steaks and there is also a great sushi bar behind the hotel). This is great if you don't want to go out as walking around cape town at night isn't really an option - we definitely didn't feel very safe after dark. The shuttle bus runs to the waterfront which is lovely at night, but its only once an hour.
Room had everything you could want, including a washing machine and tumble dryer, mini kitchen, full size fridge, nespresso machine, safe, toiletries and the most amazing and massive bed. Plug sockets were South African and European.
The only down sides were that the pool is minuscule and not really conducive to a swim when there are people sat right beside it eating and drinking, its more of a fashion statement than anything of practical use for swimming! Also that you cannot charge drinks/food from the roof top bar to the room (although you can charge breakfast).
