I only booked this hotel because I needed a place to stay after checking out of my Airbnb since it had an early morning checkout and my flight didn't leave until 9:00 PM. I figured I'd just walk the CBD for an hour then come back to the room to rest before catching my flight. Upon arrival, I asked the guy at the front desk the address because my Uber driver wasn't sure he had dropped us off at the correct location. Instead of providing me with the address, he asked me what address I was looking for. I told him that I just needed to know the address. Not in a very pleasant manner, he continued to question me! Strike one! Upon checking out of the hotel, the lady at the front desk called someone via walkie-talkie to check my room while I stood there. She literally had me stand there while they checked the room, as if I was walking away with a television or had left a dead body in there! I asked if this was normal because I had never endured such upon checking out of a hotel. She lied yes. After receiving a report all was well, she then took my room key. I have NEVER in my life been treated like a wanted suspect at a hotel! These people need better training! They work in hospitality, but were not very hospitable AT ALL!!! I don't know if I was treated this way because of the color of my skin or what, but I will NEVER book another room at this hotel. I will also tell everyone I know to NEVER book a room at this hotel. UNACCEPTABLE and they should both be better trained or fired!!!

Big manager knocked at my door every time I used the minibar. I don't think they can do this with every customer. Truly absurd given how trivial the minibar amounts were and given the thousands of dollars I had spent at the hotel, I found this behavior Pathetic.

Horrible, greedy hotel
Staying at this hotel is an extremely unpleasant experience. Their business model seems to be charging a large deposit (300R per night, payable in advance) and then looking for reasons to keep it. The desk staff are more like bouncers, and I have heard horror stories of people being locked in the reception area facing demands for money. They did not find an excuse to keep my deposit, but you still get constantly held up whilst they perform various 'checks' to try to find things to charge you for, and then you have to wait multiple days for them to return the deposit to your card (even though they force you to pay in full before accessing your room). The rooms are also old and bad. It's just a terrible, rotten place which stinks of criminality and, as you can see by its recent reviews on various platforms, is going down the toilet fast. Please don't stay there and just allow it to go bankrupt quietly.

My second stay in this hotel - once again I found the room and facilities to be excellent supported by lovely staff. One minor suggestion: the TV in the room is tiny and located 7m from the bed. A larger format screen would be appreciated.

The room was very comfortable and nicely appointed with newly renovated bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Tea making area with sink provided, combined with the wardrobe was neat and convenient but could do with a light above it. TV is tiny for the size of the room. Minibar provided was adequately supplied but overpriced. Breakfast was more than adequate with a large variety of selections and I did note variety over several days.

Room advertised online was definitely not the same room when checking in and very small (please change online pictures‼️). No dishwashing liquid in room to wash cups or glasses, when asking cleaning staff I was informed they didn't have any, they just use water to wash cups etc - unhygienic‼️. Front desk staff not very helpful when checking in and they seem busy and pre-occupied and not interested... avoiding me that if I wavy to upgrade it will cost me R500.00 - totally bizarre. Prepare yourselves for parking costs which is R150.00 per night and payment is expected upfront. Hotel nice and quiet and location is great. Checking out was a breeze, thanks to Mustapha who assisted me, he was patient and kind. Please employ note staff like Mustapha. If only he helped me when I checked in.

The building is outdated, poorly maintained, and has an unpleasant odor. The staff is rude and unprofessional, collecting a security deposit at check-in and charging for everything they can—guests, water, and overpriced laundry. To refund your deposit, they demand your full credit card details, including the CVV, which feels extremely shady. Avoid staying here.

The black lady at the front desk is very arrogant and unreasonable all the time, and does not even want to talk to you, and does not look at the customer all the time, which should be the worst service attitude in South Africa. The facilities are very old, the elevator is like sitting on a snail, there are many cockroaches in the room at night, only breakfast is good.

Booked this hotel two hours before needing to stay the day after Christmas. Check in was super easy. All front desk staff were friendly and helpful - to the point where the manager (I think) tried to hail us a taxi and when that didn't work arranged transportation for us in the hotel van to our restaurant on NYE. I have stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and I would say this is on top of my list in the last couple of years for various reasons. It is really cheap vs what you'll get - I was upgraded to a room, free buffet breakfast with a lot of options and food options change everyday as well. Room is well cleaned up everyday. Great view of table mountain - I wake up and sleep looking at this wonderful creation. This is not something to do with the hotel but for some reason, whenever I buy something from shops around, I get followed by beggars - felt unsafe for that reason. You can also hear some noise from outside - as it's pretty close to bars - but I wasn't bothered as I was super tired everyday because of sightseeing and other activities.

When I arrive since I was going there for the first time and arrived ĺate at night. They waited until I was by the door with my luggage which was heavy climbing the stairs to tell me that they use the parking lot entrance.
Upon checking in no one bothered to inform me that they're busy with renovation. Before 08:00 in the morning was woken up by massive sound. When I called their reception to inform her that there's a disturbing sound that is extremely loud. She said she will check then get back to me, which she never did until I checked out. Still no one bothered to apologize or inform me of what was happening.
Their breakfast is not appetizing.
Whe going to the 9th floor rooms there's a door for security reasons which I understand, which they failed to mention to give instructions on what I needed to do to access the rooms.The outside area is not clean just neat.
The shower had moulds which is a high source of fungal infection.
The only persons that I had a pleasure interacting with is the butler and the other guy which I don't know his name or job title, but I think is part of the overal supervisor or maintenance personnel.
