There was a spa and message offer posted all over the property and in the lifts, but when I went to the spa, they refused to honor the offer saying that the posted offer was a mistake and I would need to pay full price. It was disappointing to say the least.

We enjoyed our stay. Very helpful staff. Front desk and doormen were great. Primrose and Felicia in the restaurant were always so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Good location. A bit too far to walk to V&A Waterfront. Close Uber ride to the cruise port. Clean and comfortable room. No complaints at all. I’d stay there again.

Staying on the Executive Floor is the only way to go. You are pampered from the moment you arrive. On arrival you can wait in the club having breakfast and other refreshments until your room is ready. Each evening from 5:00-7:00 there is happy hour with a buffet of interesting canapés that vary throughout the week. This was also a fun way to try some South African wines and liquor. The sparkling white was our favorite. Our reservation included breakfast and dinner. The dinner was five star outstanding. The fillet was comparable to a five star steakhouse. Service was spot on. Dinner was a leisurely pace which was perfect after a day of touring. This was our second stay at the TAJ Cape Town and we would always stay here if returning.

Always excellent. However, this time struggled with noise on an upper floor. The wind was a real challenge and couldn't sleep. Something needs to be down to reinforce the windows. Double glazing perhaps. Will definitely be going back though.

This is our go to Hotel in Cape Town. The staff has consistently been gracious and helpful in all respects. The two dining venues are excellent and the lobby bar a great place to have a drink before dining or going out. The treatments in the spa have always been excellent. The Taj club has excellent canapés in the drinks are always flowing. This is truly a gem in the heart of the city yet close to everything which is the reason we return time again.

This hotel was in a very easy and central location to anything you wanted to get to. The staff were all super friendly, the hotel room was immaculately cleaned and restocked with towels and toiletries throughout the day. The beds were turned down and had little chocolates and slippers near the bed when it was time to sleep. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator. The restaurants there were also excellent for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Top notch! 10/10 was my experience.

Our flight was delayed because of mechanical issues and we lost 3 days of our vacation in Cape Town. The hotel front desk staff were so accommodating, especially Margaret! Our room was upgraded and we were only charged for the days that we stayed! How often does that happen?
We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and delicious drinks at the lobby bar. We also had an amazing dinner experience at the Bombay Brasserie!! We can’t wait to return to this hotel in the future!

I was visiting Cape Town for work, and had extended my stay to do some sightseeing. For this part, I booked my stay at Taj via Expedia.
Price was very competitive; having grown up in India, I am quite familiar with the Taj brand, which was a reason I chose this property.
The check-in was smooth, property very well managed with lots of amenities (most of which I did not get to use as I was outside exploring the city).
The staff was very well trained. Breakfast spread was amazing.

Well deserving of a 5 star rating. This hotel is very conveniently situated opposite the Company Gardens, for a morning stroll and access to the Natural History Museum. The (club) room was spacious and very comfortable with high quality furnuishings. All of the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was expansive and the main restaurant/menu/food and presentation were first class.I did not use the gym or pool.

Only one problem - the location of this hotel is not the best for walking distance to night life, dining at waterfront. Have to get a lift to get anywhere. But as long as you are in the hotel - perfection.

Taj Group is always excellent!! All the staff couldn’t do enough to help!! The chefs help prepare meals off the menu fitting all the dietary needs we had for the group.

Breakfast is amazing with a great choice of Indian and other parts of the world.

Location is good too, a short uber to the waterfront and a little market behind in the day. The hop on bus stop a five min walk away and the area safe during the day.

It exceeded my expectations in terms of the appointment. The interior decor and the rooms were amazing and value for the money. Kenisha and Shade, I hope I got the names vaguely correct, the front desk staff were remarkable as were the respectful doormen. I wanted to write to Mark Wernich, the general manager to tell him that he is running an excellent operation, but I forgot to ask for his email.

The breakfast crew were attentive and welcoming.

I plan to return for an extended stay.

We had the most fantastic trip. The property is not a modern one but classic in decor. What is absolutely outstanding is the service- nothing was too big an ask. The staff bent over backwards to help us and made our stay incredibly comfortable and very warm. Too many staff to name individually but it is for the service that we would 100% return. We were sad to leave because everyone had made us feel so at ease.

My arranged hotel transfer was not present on my arrival. After a call to the hotel and 15 min I was enroute to the hotel. As I was on an early morning flight - I used the spa showers to freshen up. They told me they’d message me in wats app when my room was ready. No messages and back to hotel at 4pm only to be told room still not ready. Impossible I said as checkin time was 3pm. A room then became available. Not much of a city view but it was a very nice room. Other than that - breakfast buffet was great especially items from made to order menu

This is my overall pick for Cape Town, South Africa. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and just spoiled rotten. The hotel was very clean from the dining areas and rooms to the gym facility. I can't rave enough about this place! The food was incredible! Definitely 5 star quailty on everything.

The hotel staff (too many to name individually) were absolutely phenomenal and made us feel so comfortable, welcome and truly like a home away from home. Our room was slightly dated but in excellent condition and clean. No ask from the hotel staff was too big an ask and they kept our baby well fed for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would definitely stay here again as it was a beyond comfortable experience and allowed us to feel very relaxed.

We recently stayed 5 nights at this beautiful hotel in the heart of the City and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out we were treated like royalty and every whim was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our beautiful rooms had excellent views of Table Mountain and two restaurants on site offered excellent food options, with the Bombay Brasserie a must visit. The bar too is an excellent place to unwind after a long day. I can’t say enough about the staff …..everyone from the front desk, concierge, doormen, bar & restaurant staff always had smiles on their faces and were eager to please. We have stayed here before and will certainly do so again.

Taj has a great location for business or for being in the heart of Cape Town CBD. The Company Gardens are right across the street, as are a number of galleries, museums and so on. Close to Long Street and Green Market without being ON Long Street or Green Market... The service is excellent, super friendly. Great breakfasts. The J-Wellness Spa is wonderful, I always book in here when I visit. Mountain view from my room is great. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The last time I visited I thought that the food in the Mint restaurant was not to the high standard it had been on previous visits.

The hotel was SPECTACULAR, nothing about this hotel was wrong. It was absolutely fantastic, clean as ever and the bed was the best bed I’ve ever slept on in my life. The bathroom was insane, the spa was also perfect and the staff were spectacular but a special shout out to Nicole from reservations and the concierges Taariq and Taylor were so good to me, I had changed my engagement plans very late and I was stressing out so much but they all completely calmed my nerves with such professionalism, they really do deserve more than a thank you from me! They are a true asset to the Taj Cape Town!

The room itself was acceptable but felt tired, with squeaky floors. Staff were generally not very friendly, with a few exceptions.

However, the main issue was far more serious. We placed cash in the room safe during our stay. Upon leaving the hotel and reviewing our funds later, we discovered that a significant portion was missing.

As we only realized this after departure, we did not have the opportunity to involve local authorities at the time.

Regardless of how it occurred, this experience completely undermined our trust and overshadowed everything else about the stay.

We had a wonderful stay at The Taj. The location was perfect, right in the heart of town, which made exploring so easy. The hotel was beautiful and the service was excellent throughout our visit. I made use of the spa and truly enjoyed the treatment, which was deeply relaxing and a real highlight. A lovely touch was the friendship bracelets on arrival. I still have mine and it is such a special reminder of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My stay at the Taj Cape Town exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved my room. The bed was comfortable, every shower was invigorating and the bath tub was heaven.

The staff take this hotel to an entirely different level. They are attentive, knowledgeable and funny. Primrose, in the restaurant, gave me a food hack/recommendation that changed how I will order breakfast from now on!

I need to also call out Siba and Martha from the front desk. Siba was just an all around great help and Martha helped me resolve an issue that had nothing to do with the hotel. She gave me so much calm and saved the start of my trip in a way that made me so grateful. The whole time, i truly felt that her goal was to make certain that i was ok. Bravo!

The Taj Cape Town owes us nothing but a return stay whenever we are in Cape Town again! We experienced top tier 10/10 service, support, surprise and the food!

We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and from the moment we arrived it was splendid. We got help from the car, a warm towel, and the room was just everything including the complimentary bottle of wine. All during our staff they provided romantic set up, desserts in our room, a romantic bath set up...and AT NO EXTRA CHARGE.

The coolest thing were the bracelets we received upon arrival made by survivors of domestic violence. As a Director at a nonprofit that work with survivors of domestic violence, this made me glad we had chosen the Taj.

The food...my goodness!!! Dinner, the lounge and breakfast were all amazing, the staff attentive and wonderful. Shameeza, was amazing at welcoming us and making sure our stay was wonderful.

The location is great and very close to many things in the area. Car serbice through them is a bit expensive so we booked our own rides.

The only complaint I have is that we had to leave.
