We loved our one night stay at Caoe heritage Hotel! Not only for its convenient central location and quietness, but also for its decor and charm, and most importantly for the warm hearted service we received. It happened to be one of us’s birthday. Sam and Bonford went out of their way to make the birthday girl feel happy and special. Love it, wish we stayed longer.

The staff and service was excellent! Be sure to have breakfast - the food and service is impeccable. Our room was very comfortable; the bathroom was upgraded. The V&A Waterfront is walkable (20-25 minutes) during the day. The area around the hotel is quite safe, but being in the CBD there are homeless people begging. The hotel arranged hotel transfers to and from the airport at a reasonable price. Our room was on the street side, so it was a bit loud at night - nothing a white noise machine can't drown out. Easy access to bars & restaurants in the square.

It’s a good concept but not fully realised and the property seems a little shabby. Staff are nice but the real drawback is the noisy bar attached to the hotel which is super annoying for hotel guests. It does not help the hotel one bit when it comes to creating a welcoming and relaxing space. Perhaps they could turn it into a restaurant instead. Would not recommend this hotel for tourists.

Everyone was so helpful and provided the ultimate service! I will definitely stay here again and am sending my friends! Their breakfasts were also outstanding! Very well situated for a first time visitor, the hop on/off bus was only a five minutes walk! There is also a huge security presence all over so I felt very safe everywhere.

The staff of this hotel are its biggest asset, friend, courteous, polite and very helpful, they should be commended by the owner. I have stayed in many hotels around the world but rarely do you ever get the treatment as you do at this hotel. I would also be amiss if I did not mention the breakfasts, they were so fresh, and the cooked breakfast, hot and so tasty, we would definitely stay again.

This is such a wonderful hotel!. A true home away from home. It was my first trip to Cape Town , as a solo traveler, naturally I was apprehensive but at Cape Heritage Hotel, I felt like I was staying with my family.

The property itself is a beautiful historical building, well preserved but also renovated to provide modern comforts.

From the front desk staff to the house keepers, everyone made sure I had a very comfortable stay. Special shout out to Ndombi who cleaned my room daily, supplies always fully stocked.

The concierge kindly provided great recommendations when I was looking for particular items/gifts to buy. The manager always made sure I had what I needed. Overall their professionalism and warmth was simply amazing. I have stayed in many hotels around the world, including the 5 stars ones but Cape Heritage was by leaps and bounds the best!.

The rooms are of good size and very clean, the bathrooms immaculate (which is something I am particular about), there is even a bathtub with special soaps where I took many relaxing baths after long days of exploring Cape Town.

The hotel is also centrally and conveniently located to many attractions. Great view of Table Mountain, walking distance to Long Street and Bo Kaap is a short Uber ride away.

I was so impressed with this hotel and will always stay there every time I visit Cape Town

Clean, charming boutique hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms/bathrooms are huge. Mattresses are comfortable with fluffy pillows and down comforters. Breakfast, which is included and consists of a cold buffet and made-to-order hot dish, is delicious. Five min walk to Bo Kapp and 5-10 min taxi to the waterfront, beaches,Table Mountain, and Lion's Head. Pub and Mexican restaurant next to the hotel. Across street is a French bistro, Italian, and Grub & Vine, which is considered one of the best restaurants in CT. Had a mediocre lunch at pub (Jerry's). Didn't eat at others as we went to the waterfront every night.

The negatives. We were there in winter, and since building is old, room was drafty and cold. The heater helped, but takes a while to heat up such a big room, and if you run it non-stop, it gets too warm. Building is only two stories, so rooms are close to the ground. Our room was in back facing a parking lot. Multiple mornings around 6, I was awakened by people talking back there. I imagine rooms over the street would be even noisier. The housekeepers also talked loudly outside our door, which woke me up two mornings.

Downtown location is a little seedy, and I heard/read is unsafe to walk around at night (going across street would be fine). This is easily remedied by taking Uber everywhere.

If you want a charming hotel at a reasonable price, are a sound sleeper, and don't need lots of amenities, Cape Heritage is a great place.

I really like the property and the style of the hotel and the rooms with all the natural art. The staff are absolutely amazing. Everyone was nice and checking in and checking out was very easy. I only have 1 concern and that is the lock on the door to the room does not close well. But all in all I would definitely come back again.

We had an incredible stay at the Cape Heritage Hotel in Cape Town. The hotel is located in fantastic central location in downtown. Bars and restaurants located within heritage square. Parking available across the street. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was amazing, large and comfortable with great street views. Comfortable beds and furniture. Nice amenities with lots of small personal touches. Fast and reliable internet. The breakfast was fantastic. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel for anyone staying in Cape Town. I'll be staying here again on my next trip to Cape Town.

We had a most pleasant stay at the Cape Heritage Hotel. The building and rooms are charming, the location is very convenient and centrally located, the rooms are clean and most comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. A big shout out to TJ who made our stay very happy! One negative is that because the hotel is located on a square with a lot of bars and restaurants around one can hear the noise from the rooms. Not very loud but ideally windows should be double glazed. Having said that I had no problem sleeping (and I am a light sleeper). Would definitely recommend for anyone touring Central Cape Town.

What made this hotel special was the staff, always helpful. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. Restaurants are adjacent to the hotel but if you want to to go further afield an Uber might be needed due to aggressive panhandlers on nearby streets. With this being said I did love the hotel because of its inviting unique character.

Amazing hotel in downtown Cape Town!

We would highly recommend the Cape Heritage Hotel. We arrive right around midnight after traveling ~24 hr to come from the US. We were greeted warmly and immediately served beverages in a lounge while the hotel's front desk got our registration paperwork together. By the time we made it up to our room, our luggage was already there. The room was gorgeous and huge! The king-sized bed my husband and I shared was so comfortable. My mom had her owner room connected to ours and the bathroom. The amenities in the bathroom were our favorite all trip. Breakfast was also the best and was huge! There were continental options and made to order. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We wish we could have stayed all week! Every evening there was a slip of paper next to our bed which had the next day's weather forecast, in Celsium and Fahrenheit (thanks for that!). Overall, a marvelous stay. We would definitely recommend to any visiting! Great location - excellent restaurants within walking distance. Bo Kaap was close enough to walk too. Just awesome.

Absolutely loved being at the Cape Heritage. The hotel is lovely, atmospheric, unique. The rooms are comfortable and attractive....we actually had two...because there was a sitting room attached! The best part? The wonderful, wonderful, did I mention wonderful?, staff...including Sam(antha), Sydney, and lovely young man who poured my coffee in the morning whose name, like many of the others, I failed to note. I don't forgive myself. They deserve to be acknowledged. Delicious breakfast. Only one thought: While it's an easy, short walk up, there is no elevator. The great staff has no problem taking up the luggage and it's very easy to go up the steps as long as you are walking. Not a problem for most.

Historic property in great location, with cafes and restaurants and interesting boutique stores nearby. Staff was extraordinary, and great cook to order breakfast. And for those who indulge, there was a claw foot soaking tub in the bathroom! We stopped there ahead of a safari, and decided to return to rest up ahead of our long flight back.

Staff are super. Parking adjacent was included which is great. Breakfast is outstanding. Beds and pillows excellent. Location near M62 means easy access to highways plus Table Mntn. Only downside is shower tap needs hot and cold indicator especially given water shortage. Our room had shower in bathtub but our friends room had separate shower which is preferable. Lots of steps around so not wheelchair friendly. Overall we loved our stay here.

This hotel is close to the CBD, just a short walk to Long, Loop, Bree St. Just a very short drive to mountain, Waterfront, and beaches. Not the most beautiful part of town, but the charm and character of this heritage building more than makes up for it.

The staff at the Cape Heritage Hotel were very hospitable and accommodating. Bamford in particular helped us with our (heavy!) bags, bringing them all up to the room in one go, and also offered us a welcome drink of a glass of wine or locally brewed beer.

Our room - being one of the deluxe rooms - was amazing. It was huge - it had TWO chandeliers - and the decor was amazing. The bed was very comfortable, though, given the location of the hotel on a busy street, and our being there on a weekend, it did get very noisy and, at times, we couldn't sleep.

Though the hotel doesn't have a pool, it does come with a rooftop jacuzzi, and an area where you can sit and chill out. I imagine it's quite nice when the drought isn't ongoing and the jacuzzi is open.

Breakfast was served either indoors in a nicely decorated space, or outdoors under the hanging vines of what are apparently the oldest fruit-bearing vines in the Southern hemisphere. Either area works well, and the food is delicious. I was grateful for the shakshuka eggs on the menu - something different from all the other hotels we'd been to.

is a nice heritage yet the room is kept in a modern and luxury manner. staffs are helpful and friendship. I enjoy everything in this hotel, especially reading a book at the balcony and soaking at the bathtub

A hotel to go back to!

Good location. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, helping with restaurant suggestions. When we arrived and told the person what restaurant we wanted to go to that evening, he even went with us to make the reservation (a restaurant where you need a deposit). Parking on the parking lot around the corner is convenient: the hotel has several reserved spots right next to cashier so that the car always is under supervision.
The fact that the hotel is historic, makes it even more charming. Rooms are large, and the ones giving out on the road are quiet! Breakfast is very good!

Close to everything, beautiful hotel

The hotel staff went above and beyond helping us, even after we checked out and had to make it to the airport for a late flight. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel, though the V&A area is a bit of a hike - took us about 25 minutes. Breakfast is delicious.

Cape Heritage Hotel

Heritage Hotel - great for inner city exploring

We had three nights here in a cute double room. The entire hotel is a heritage site and retains a lot of historic features. Each room has an individual décor. There are plenty of restaurants below and choice along Bree Street for bars and pubs. The Hop On Hop Off Bus was just a few blocks away.

Lovely helpful staff and wonderful breakfast

My friend and I loved this hotel! The breakfast was great, so many options which set us up for days of exploring Cape Town. It was also not far from the airport, an uber taxi costed 120 zar, each way. Fantastic restaurants on the road, and those around the hotel too. The room was clean and so pretty. The bed was huge and comfortable too. More than any of this, the staff at the hotel made us sure to visit again, they were so helpful, funny and went out of their way to make it a great stay.

Nice hotel with lots of character and great staff

Me and my wife stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even left rose petals and sparkling wine in the room for us. The hotel has a very classic and stylish feel and contrary to other reviews which state noise being a problem we had no issues at all.
