Cons
- Cleanliness of the room was sub par for a 4 star hotel. (Oily hand marks on walls and furniture, moldy shower mat, residue and dirt stains on tub and sink areas, dirty vents.)
- Limited options for food and quality of food is sub par. Better to eat at a restaurant by the V&A.
- Charged CAD130 to have checkout 3 hours later. Was also given 2 different amounts and it was a note left on file, not a hotel charge.
- No shuttle service to the airport.

Overall, it’s an alright place to sleep at night, but would not consider this to be a 4 star hotel, 2 and a half at best. Would not stay at it again though.

I stayed in a suite facing Table mountain. That view was spectacular. The suite was spacious, clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and amenities worked well. Great breakfast selection. The only downside— wifi on the higher floors was not consistent -/ tough for business travelers . If that was better 5 stars. It really is in a convenient spot in the heart of Capetown. You can walk anywhere

The property is about 20 mins from CPT. It's downtown so it's walkable although not recommended for women to walk alone at night. It was about 10 minutes from Waterfront.
The hotel is excellent 5 stars. The free breakfast is very hearty -- hard to believe it's free! The staff was wonderful and I loved the ambiance!

Good accommodation option, few areas to improve

Conveniently located at walking distance to the convention center, great view of the Table Mountain from my room (high floor). 6 lifts never let you wait more than a minute or so. There are areas that my experience could have been better, such as a faster check-in (took a while), fixing my air conditioner (not cooling properly), an office chair (the wooden chair was loosen and very non-ergometric, uncomfortable), more toiletry amenities (shaving kit, toothbrush, etc). The check-out gentlemen wasn't on a great customer-service mood.

The state of the hotel

This was our second stay in 10 years. The stay was very dissappinting, I had to park my car outside the hotel risking being mugged by thugs who roamed around. The hotels rooms had water leaks in the bathroom and some doors difficult to open. Please separate shower from bathtub. The name was rude and wanted to close whilst patrons we're having drinks. I had to call the supervisor.

Chose to stay at the Hotel mainly because of its proximity to the ICC where I was attending a Conference.The website showed it was very close and within walking distance. I must respectfully disagree and suggest all distances to other venues be reviewed.

For me coffee in the room is most important. No milk was provided and all when it was it was far too little. All attempts to rectify this through the staff were unsuccessful.

Unable to sign extras to the room unless one has a \"credit\" ? Not advised of this when I checked in. In fact it was confirmed that I could sign drinks etc to the room and settle bill when I left.

But overall an enjoyable and comfortable stay with friendly staff.

The elevators were nice for the view. The staff was generally pleasant, a few a little pushy in hinting for tips. The free wifi is not so free after you use up the small amount they provide. It makes me think of bait and switch.

Old and dusty furniture.
Took 2 days to have a third towel as we were three in the family room....Asked the staff at reception everyday but no towels arrived!!!
Bath leaking after showering so water all over the place.
No water to drink everyday in the room, had to ask and after the second day they placed 1 bottle of water for 3 of us!!!
The windows opened completely on the 26th floor without any security, I found that quite dangerous....
The staff were very kind.
i will not stay in this Hotel again when back in Cape Town.
Not worth it.

Absolutely in the middle of downtown, with easy, complimentary shuttle access to the waterfront shopping and major events! Staff was friendly and helpful, and very punctual when we requested things like an ironing board and room service! Hotel itself was beautiful with a clear view of Table Mountain on the one side. It was unfortunate that there was so much wind when we stayed, as the howling was loud through the window/walls. Ear plugs were needed.

The food is below average. The hotel is very old and it shows when trying to run a shower and get the temperature right. Housekeeping was terrible. My room was not serviced until 5pm so I came back from a long day at work to find my room unmade with nowhere to relax. The staff have a very relaxed attitude towards guests. This hotel needs a complete makeover from decor to all staff. Terrible time spent here

Do not trust the concierges, a few times they tried to sell my activities/rides at a higher price, probabily they get a cut from them. You are better off if you book your activitties on line. Including taxy, they always call their friends who charge more money than a regular city taxy. And no manager on duty to watch it.

I was here for a week long stay for a conference at the CTICC. This hotel is not within walking distance of the CTICC. There is a shuttle service that will drop off at the sister hotel, the Cullinan and you can walk to the CTICC. The hotel is older in decor and furnishings than Western hotels, however it was clean and nicely appointed. Bed is very comfortable. The bottle of wine and handwritten note in my room on arrival was a welcomed gesture.
Pros: Most of the staff were nice. Ahmed, Gerald, Lucky, and Neil (older gentleman) were very nice and took great care of us during our stay. Breakfast had many options and was overall very good each morning. There is a candy cabinet, not sure when it's open, but it is open some evenings.
Cons: the shuttle service is VERY inconsistent. Highly disappointing. We were informed that the shuttle would take us to/from the Waterfront. The first night we stood in the area where we were instructed for over 30 min and a shuttle never showed. We had to pay for a taxi. The guy at concierge Henry was unapologetic for this inconvenience and made no attempt to correct the issue. Management never attempted to correct this either. Twice more during our stay the shuttle was not present and we had to pay for tranportation back to the hotel. Be forwarned that if the shuttle is full, they will leave early and there will be no other attempts to transport you.
Hotel was good, shuttle horrible. I will stay elsewhere on future visits.

We visited the hotel for the Cape Town Jazz festival, the hotel was a walkable distance to the Cape town convention centre which was great. The hotel its self is old and could do with referring in the bathroom and toilet especially, the tops are old and have cracks, our toilet had nasty stains and even had a note stuck on it to tell us the hotel was aware of the stains and apologised, this to me said the hotel didnt even want us to bother them telling them about it, and i couldnt help but wonder if there was intentions of fixing it?

The receprtionist did not give us details of breakfast times, where it was, and when check out was as per every hotels procedure, we only realised this the following day since we arrived late at night and just wanted to get to our room.

The staff was very polite to us last week, especially considering there were a lot of people coming in that week for a conference. All the service we received was perfect and spot on, although sometimes I worried that the gentlemen calling the elevators for us might not have been washing his hands.
My only regret is that we could only stay a couple of days.

Despite the problem we had with the plumbing system, which was fixed within the first few hours when we checked in, we find the staff courteous and helpful. The hotel is very central, and is within walking distance to some of the tourist attractions. The dinner buffet can be improved. If the hotel can change
its color scheme in the lobby, it will be more attractive. We will stay at this hotel again.
