The Lodge is very well kept by Sam and his team, spotlessly clean throughout, staff are extreemely helpful and attentive. The location is perfect for getting around the City. Would definitely recommend.

I had a pleasant stay, my room was clean and well serviced. The location was good for local beaches, restaurants and centres. The guesthouse a little quirky but security was good, although i found the external blinds unusual...

Frank runs his place with military precision. We had everything we needed including a good breakfast. We also liked the location near the sea and in a quiet residential area but near to plenty of restaurants for the evening. On the tourist bus route too. Uber taking us into Green Point and the waterfront.

Loloho Lodge is an immaculate intimate guesthouse in a very convenient location. There are 4 separate bus routes within a few hundred metres which will take you to the city centre or Waterfront and it is only a few hundred metres from the beach. The city sightseeing buses also run nearby. The surrounding area is safe. The swimming pool and garden were spotless.

On arrival Frank gave us a good tourist briefing with maps and brochures and even lent us 2 MyCiti bus cards to get us started.

Our room was spotless and well appointed with refrigerator, tea/coffee facilities and a ceiling fan. However, it was quite compact.

Breakfast was outstanding with the best selection of fruit I have ever seen, eggs and bacon cooked to order, croissants, bread etc. The coffee was the best we had in 4 weeks in South Africa.

I thoroughly recommend Loloho Lodge and will try to stay there again if I visit Cape Town again.

Friendly lodge seven minutes walk from seafront.

Comfortable, clean room. Breakfasts al fresco with a selection of fresh fruit while the sky divers float overhead on their descent from the mountain. Owner Frank very helpful with local advice. Attractive pool and handily placed for Seapoint buses into town.

I enjoyed my stay and met many nice people travelling, mainly from Europe. The rooms are comfortable and super clean. However, the walls and sound proofing are not good and I would suggest ear plugs for any light sleepers. Frank is a good host and the breakfasts are very good.

Good location, close to beach & restaurants

First impressions are everything and to be honest, we didn't feel very welcome when we arrived two hours earlier than our agreed check in time. Frank's enthusiasm was underwhelming. We were more than happy to come back at 16.00 the agreed time but we were sent away feeling like naughty children!

Frank and Simon run this lodge with military precision...a bit more flexibility wouldn't go amiss e.g. strict check in and out times which are not customer friendly, i.e check in is at 16.00 & check out is 10.00, times we haven't had anywhere else on our travels, also strict breakfast times. We also got the impression that everything was too much effort e.g. asked for a boiled egg one morning & was told no as the pan was in use!

Below Average Experience

The owner of this hotel is just not very customer oriented. Based on other reviews, he gets defensive when he hears this, which is unfortunate. He booked an airport shuttle for us and the driver did not show up. When we informed him, he didn't seem to concerned. This property is not a hotel, but a guest house. Our room had a door that lead into the main house where the owner lived . We often heard loud talking and laughing from the owner as late as 10:30pm, yet he didn't hesitate to tell us that my opening the gate to leave for a run everyday at 6pm was noisy. Never mind that it was his gate that was squeaky because it wasn't properly maintained. Our room also opened to the driveway, so we heard cars coming and going late at night. We had no option but to keep our window louvers open as the rooms are not air conditioned. As it was 40 degrees one day, no air conditioning was a real issue. Parking is very inconvenient as it is a one lane driveway and if you are at the front with three cars behind you, it is very inconvenient to get your car out. The rooms are clean but small and again, depending on the room you get, they can be very noisy. The pool was nice, but not at all clean, despite the cleaning device constantly being in the pool. The best aspect of this property is its proximity to the ocean. The neighborhood is not very nice, the property is hard to find and it is not well marked.

Small Bed and Breakfast in the Heart of Sea Point

Loloho, run by an English ex-pat, is a large house that has seven bedrooms. It is situated in the heart of Sea Point, and so convenient for everything. It provides comfortable bedrooms, use of a pool, off-street parking (not for those lacking in confidence!) and a good breakfast. For the price, it is excellent value.

Wonderful stay!

We had an excellent stay here! The owner Frank was extremely helpful months prior to our arrival. He emailed us suggestions for renting a car, airport transfers, and places to tour on our request. Once we arrived, Frank was very hospitable to us. Every morning him and Simon would make us a breakfast. And then ask about our plans for the day and offer suggestions if we were unsure of things, such as places to eat, weather, etc. For our Cape Point drive, for example, he gave us a map and showed us the best scenic route and per-warned us about toll roads and road closures. The lodge was very peaceful and clean!

Loloho Lodge is in a great location to access the beaches, red/blue tour bus, shopping, dining, etc. Parking is the main drawback, one car behind the other so one must shuffle cars around to get out...however, the parking is off-street, secure as is the entire property. Sweet little pool and sun deck. Lovely flowers. Nice breakfast-spread. Frank was a very accommodating host with lot's of info to share.

Fantastic Loloho Lodge

Had a fantastic stay at Loloho Lodge. Frank and Simon are great hosts. They work very hard to make your stay as enjoyable and relaxing ad possible. Will be back at sometime and will be recommending to our friends and family if they ever venture to Cape Town. Great find. Also met lovely other guest around the breakfast table. It is in a quiet location, within easy walking distance of restaurants, not far from the city centre and the V&A waterfront.

Loloho Guest Lodge review

Frank was the perfect host at this Guest Lodge. His communication via email is very efficient. The room was perfectly cleaned early every day. The breakfast was fresh, simple and adequate. Any query or help with local information is quickly answered and referrals given to restaurants.
It really was a pleasurable stay and based on the rate charged, it certainly was a great deal. If you want a full service hotel with all surcharges this isn't for you. If you want privacy, a clean room and good board in the heart of Sea Point then it's an easy choice.

A Taste of the Mediterranean in Cape Town

The Loloho Lodge is a tranquil guest house in the heart of Sea Point. The accommodation is well appointed, with all the facilities a guest could need. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is delicious. My only criticism is that the owner is not on the premises in the evening and the rooms have no telephone. If like me, you are travelling from the UK and have an expensive roaming facility on your mobile, you feel a bit vulnerable should you need to contact someone in an emergency. Perhaps there should be some telephone facility or panic button should a guest need to call an ambulance or police.

Apart from that the Lodge offers everything you need for a most enjoyable stay including a pretty garden and lovely swimming pool.

Convenient to beach, shops and restaurants

I enjoyed the clean spacious room with provision of drinks. Breakfast was a good varied menu and it was good to be able to eat outside with the option of sharing tables with other guests. The manager was friendly, cheerful and helpful. The pool was a welcome addition and was clean and well serviced.

Best place to stay in Cape Town in our opinion!

We booked here for a week but ended up extending for another 5 nights on top of that, as we loved it so much. The hosts Frank & Simon can't do enough to make sure that the stay is a real home from home experience. The property is beautifully maintained, the rooms are clean and we felt very secure here. There is a fantastic buffet breakfast every morning with many fresh fruits, cheese, cold meats, bread rolls, toast, cereals, fruit juice and yoghurts to go with your tea and coffee, together with the option to have freshly cooked bacon & eggs as well. Free wifi is a real added bonus. There is a beautiful pool and much outdoor seating in the lovely garden area. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else next time we come to Cape Town and we can't recommend this accommodation highly enough.

Great B&B in Seapoint area

Overall a lovely B&B with a nice pool and central location. I didn't love Seapoint as an area - it is definitely not as nice as eg Camps Bay. Frank, the owner/manager tries hard to assist guests but his manner can be a bit off-putting/confrontational at times. Pool was too cold to swim in but is nice to look at and garden is pretty too. Breakfast was excellent although could be served a bit later!

Truly fantastic stay, everything was perfect. Both Sam and Michael who run the place, and all of the staff, were incredibly nice, attentive and helpful. The home-cooked breakfast was delicious, pool area nice, clean and cozy, rooms were excellent and clean with good air condition. We always felt safe and well taken care of in this little sanctuary, with a great location in Sea point. Even the other guests were super-nice, greeting each other when passing. We cannot recommend this enough, and are already looking forward to come back for our next visit.

Frank, de gastheer is zeer vriendelijk, en staat ten alle rijden bij. Hij verzorgt het ontbijt, en verzoek bakt ei en bacon.
Het ziet er allemaal heel erg verzorgd uit, en de tuin is piekfijn verzorgd. Het zwembad is schoon, en de kamers worden erg goed bijgehouden.
Hij ligt op een mooie lokatie en dicht bij het strand

We stayed two weeks in Loloho Lodge in December/January and enjoyed every minute of it!
Location of this lovely guesthouse is perfect: in a small and quiet street in Sea Point, walking distance from the ocean promenade and it´s little beaches, as well as the vibrant city centre. There are superb restaurants, shops and groceries in Main Road nearby.

Frank and Simon take good care of both the premises and their guests. There were a fan, fridge, TV and DVD in our room and it was reasonable sized and spotless clean. The breakfast every morning was a generous and delicious selection of fruits/cheeses/breads/yoghurt and cold cuts. Eggs and bacon on request. It was lovely to start the day by eating in the patio with other guests and breakfast kept us going late in the afternoon.

Frank gave us good advice where/when/how to go and he also booked us a safari. He has a good selection of brochures of attractions near and far. Ask for his tips of good restaurants; they are all worth to try!

Our own top 3 tips:
Posticino; italian restaurant in Main Rd., delicious and enormous portions.
Über is safe and cheap transportation to city centre and back.
Shortest way to walk to City bowl and Long St.: use High Level Rd /Strand St.

Et lille lokalt sted, der bliver styret af ejere Frank der er englænder. Stedet er en stor villa med en værrelsesfløj, spisestuen og terrasse ved en lille pool. Små værelser men nyere og pæne og rene. Stedet er omgivet af mur med låst dør mod gaden. Parkeringsmuligheder for :til fire biler bag låst port. 2,3km til centrum, restauranter inden for gå afstand. Kort til havet ( ikke Strand)

Sehr kleines, nettes Guesthouse. Räume sind nicht groß, hatten aber alles was ich benötigte.
Die Zimmer sind keine Zimmer im eigentlichen Sinne, sondern eher sehr kleine Einzelwohnungen mit Tür direkt nach draußen. Allerdings ist alles etwas klein, d.h. die Zimmer sind auch nah beieinander.
Die Lage ist echt gut, weil man sehr nah zu einer Bushaltestelle wohnt, an der auch der Sightseeing-Bus startet (der eine echt gute Möglichkeit ist, um alle Sehenswürdigkeiten Kapstadts zu erreichen und auch Pinguine und den Kap der guten Hoffnung oder die Townships zu besuchen. Man bekommt sogar Kopfhörer mit denen man auf deutsch Tipps und Erklärungen zu Sehenswürdigkeiten anhören kann).
Man ist zu Fuß super schnell an der Promenade (an der auch kleine Strände sind).
Der inhaber Frank ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Er hat mir super geholfen und gute Tipps gegeben, wie ich Kapstadt in kurzer Zeit gut erkunden kann.

Everything I ask for in a guesthouse

I´ve been to Cape Town before and I am very fond of the Seapoint area. This guesthouse has everything I ask for: friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast, a good location, a feeling of safety, comfortable rooms.

Gute Lage aber unfreundlicher Gastgeber

Wir wählten die Loloho Lodge wegen der Lage und auch wegen der guten Bewertungen und weil wir nach 4 Wochen Aufenthalt am Kap eigentlich sicher waren, hier nichts falsch machen zu können.
Wir haben während unserer Reise viele verschiedene Unterkünfte ausprobiert und dabei sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht und hatten reizende Gastgeber.
Leider hier nicht. Die Lage in Sea Point ist zwar gut und die Unterkunft sehr sauber und komfortabel.
Der Hausherr ist aber sehr unfreundlich und wenig willkommen heißend.
Man fühlte sich im Grunde nicht als Gast, sondern mehr wie ein Störfaktor und das hat uns (bei fast 100€/Nacht) tatsächlich ein wenig die Laune verdorben.
Wir bekamen eine Liste mit Regeln, das Guesthouse ist den ganzen Tag verschlossen (es gibt so gut wie keinen Ansprechpartner)
Die Frühstückszeit ist von 8-9 Uhr. (doch, so lang :/ )
Auf mein verwundertes Nachfragen, wurde uns beschieden, dass wir etwas länger sitzen bleiben dürften....
Das Frühstück ist gut.

Good location and friendly host. The only disadvantage was insufficient sound- proff, you could hear the neighbour snooring, due to open windows in the room and bathroom since this was the only ventilation, no aircondition.

Wunderbare kleine Pension

Von 2 Inhabern persönlich geführte Pension in guter Lage. In die Innenstadt, Waterfront als auch zu den Stränden muss man auf Transportmittel zurückgreifen, dennoch empfinde ich die Lage im \"beruhigten\" North Point als sehr gut. Die beiden Inhaber kümmern sich in jeder Beziehung persönlich ... deshalb sind in Punkto Sauberkeit, Organisation etc. die Dinge optimal. Die Inhaber können bei jedem Anliegen sofort persönlich angesprochen werden; sei es auch um die letzten Fussballergebnisse der Premier League mal durchzudiskutieren. Ich selbst habe ausserdem hochinteressante Routen-Tipps in der Kap-Region bekommen, die ich dann genau so abgefahren bin.
Wer sich im Ambiente einer kleinen Pension grundsätzlich wohl fühlt, dem kann man absolut raten, hier für seinen Kapstadt-Aufenthalt abzusteigen. Von Vorteil sind Kenntnisse der englischen Sprache in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass die beiden Inhaber Briten sind.

Prima verblijf gehad. Goed punt om naar waterfront omgeving te gaan (wij deden dat via Uber, ging prima!)
Alles erg netjes al zijn de kamers iets aan de kleine kant. Ontbijt ook erg goed verzorgd.
