The hotel is in the process of remodeling, this some things may be excused, but no tv (no hooked up?), no ice bucket, hallways with drywall sandings & chips on floor, no baggage carts available at checkout, etc., thus much too expensive stay for the situation. Staff were ok.

I was very surprised to walk in and the place was being renovated. They were still working at 6:30pm. We were on the third floor so it was peaceful in our room. I was very upset that there was no machines in the hotel. I am ok with the renovations but they could have left at least one ice machine in working order.

Room had a kitchen area there was dirt and pieces of wood in all drawers and cabinets. The icebox had a water and ice dispenser neither worked. The room had a very strong paint smell. There was a ceiling tile missing. Couldn't block out the light from the front of the hotel. The whole hotel was cover in dust they are doing renovations but could have done a better job cleaning. The sofa and chairs in the room were covered in stains.

This hotel was under construction. They should not be open during this time. They were ripping up floors, painting and extensively remodeling. Construction started at 8am and was very loud. dust everywhere. Neither Hotels.com or the hotel itself every mentioned this when I booked the room. This is unexeptable. I expect better.

Hotel was undergoing renovation which was not mentioned prior to reservation being made. After arrival, they said only lobby being renovated, however the lobby ceiling is 2 stories high (2nd floor), our hallway and room were covered in construction dust, plastic sheeting partially taped to our door frame. Have asthma and could not breath, hotel refused to refund 1st night although we could not and did not stay there.

The inn is definitely under construction but the staff are doing all they can to make everyone comfortable in the midst of the mess. We came back to the inn midday when they were installing new air conditioners and they promptly switched ours out quickly and efficiently so we could get our Afternoon rest. Breakfast area was thoroughly cleaned each morning and breakfast was great…sausage, eggs, biscuits, waffles. Warm clean towels were dropped off also! Check-in was easy and the staff are clearly working under difficult conditions. To be honest, our first impression was “no, this isn’t right” but the staff made our two days there great and we embraced the mess as progress. Our room was beautifully remodeled and comfortable. The inn will be amazing when the remodel is done!

After checking in and getting to our room we discovered we were given a double queen instead of the king that was reserved. Front desk said she couldn’t do anything cause I reserved a double queen thru Expedia which I didn’t. The tub in the bathroom had a build up of gunk around the drain. When checking out I mentioned to the front desk the problem we had the night before with the reservation and she said the reason we were given a double queen room is because there were no kings available. I wish they would make a decision on the reason our reservation was not honored.

Also, the hotel is under renovation which was not mentioned when making the reservation. The workers were working and making noise until 7pm and started the next morning before 9. I would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel is currently under renovation and it eas a mess. Our room was fine but the other areas were certainly not. Breakfast was effected by the renovation as well. Very limited food and space. I’m sure when the renovation is complete it will be much better.

Noisy, noisy, noisy. Woken up to someone else's alarm clock at 5:30am on Saturday. Woke up to someone operating a backpack leaf blower on the grounds at 7am on Sunday morning. Housekeepers are very noisy with their carts. Doors are not sealed to keep out noise. If you want to sleep in in the morning, this is not the place to stay for you. Everything else is quite ordinary and normal.

They had a note on the door that they was going through construction so sorry about the noise but the main issue was we got a room because we drove and was up for about 14 hours and just wanted somewhere to lay out head and get some sleep so we was ready to go for about the same hours of being up and driving again the next day and it was so light in our room we couldnt get much sleep. no drapes on the window and 3 street lamps right outside our window shining in our eyes.

The property is EXACTLY as pictured online. The staff was very friendly. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay went well. My companion was recovering from knee surgery, do they already had a handicap room ready when we arrived. Barbara was great. I really enjoyed chatting with her at breakfast as she have us tips for finding nearby waterfalls. Start to finish, I'm so glad we chose this as our home away from home.

HOWEVER, nothing in the concession area except some chips and Sprite; no coffee maker in the room, not even plastic cups; no hair dryer in the room; the new mattresses still had the original plastic wrap on them so the bed crinkled every time you moved. COLDWATER LEFT ME COLD!

For the pice of $75 I give this a 5*. Staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and the interior design with the dual staircase and upper seating area was beautiful. It also had a nice pool area and outside seating. It does not necessarily compete with your chains like Holiday Inn, etc because it does need some updating (small dresser/t.v./bathroom tub) so may not be idea for family with kids, but they are rennovating. Our room was all laminate, no carpet and the ceilings looked like they had just been done. Full hot breakfast was also available. Would stay here again if in the area.

Was horrible, rude disrespectful and very racist! They was overheard more than once saying it's too many blacks. My family had rooms and total, each one of us experience the racist talk, the rude behavior, and will we weren't welcome. And when this was discussed with the hotel manager the next business day, on Monday. She stated it was nothing she could do. She informed me she had seen the videos that she had heard from another staff member how rude they were but that only the owners of the hotel could do anything about it that she is a manager and could do nothing. The cook the kitchen employee, Bonnie and front desk worker-Daliala (Dee) were HORRIBLE, you can see the HATE IN THEIR EYES and Bobbie didn't deny being hateful, she just attempted to justify it, with more hate/disrespect.

The room was very nice and clean. The whole hotel was beautiful. The only complaint we have is that they gave someone else a key to one of our rooms that our daughter and her family were still in. They were using a key card, trying to get into my daughter's room at about 9am. Thankfully the cards didn't work.

Check in person ee she was great! She was very nice / information on everything. She did tell me that the hotel is undergoing renovation on the third floor, it was being bought out by Spark by Hilton.
Beautiful lobby, elevator worked, outside parking lot, garbage cans have been emptied and picked up. Nice!
Entering my room I thought everything looked good at first glance.
PRO:
The sinks, toilet, countertops and bedsheets were clean. The blankets were cleaned though had small stains. The pillows were fine. The counters around the TV, desk and bed were clean.

CON:I saw a long hair in the bathroom on the floor and I have to say just gross me out. Later on, I took a piece of tissue paper and some water and just wipe a spot on the floor in the bathroom and it came up gray. The floor in the rest of the room had been vacuumed. It seemed, but I still saw hair in a couple places there on the floor as well. The bed skirt was disgusting on one side and should have never been in that room.. The seat of the desk chair needs to be vacuumed and cleaned. It was disgusting.
After looking more closely at the bathtub, I decided it wasn’t safe for me to take a shower without having my slides on. I did a test on the tub as well and it came up chalky.
This used to be a great hotel I at one time and even though they’re being bought out the worst thing they can do is to continue to get rent rooms like mine. Had I not been so exhausted and tired from driving I would have demanded a different room.

When booking we did not know the hotel was under construction. We had travelled over night and wanted to rest once checked in. We saw construction signs in the lobby.. once in the room, we seemed to be right under the construction as the walls were shaking. When we went to the manager to see what could be done (we desperately needed sleep) she just said sorry and that it would be done in a few hours. They wouldn’t move us to a room further (said fully booked) nor offer any compensation for the inability to sleep. She seemed to take the request personally as she seemed agitated. I asked how long the construction had gone on, and she confirmed it had been underway for over a month. We booked 2 weeks after it had started and there was no communication on their website. When I mentioned this, the manager said “well we have signs around the hotel” I asked if she was aware that people booking online and states away won’t see the paper signs? She said she can’t control the website. Mind you, I looked at both the website and hotels.com because I was looking at rates. I have worked in the hotel business for years prior and understand some things are out of our control, however the lack of communication on the site and empathy from the manager left a bad taste and overshadowed the beauty of the hotel. I attempted to email the owners to give them a chance to make it right, but no response. Until the construction is done, if you want any peace before night, don’t book.

The bathroom was a major problem area. The tub spigot leaked a steady flow causing an irritating dripping noise throughout the room even with the bathroom door closed. The leak could not be shut off. The shower valve would not engage so, no shower. There was no plug (stopper) for the tub so a bath was not possible. The toilet flush handle disconnected and had to be reconnected within the tank. The desk was notified about the leaking tub problem, we were told nothing could be done nor were we offered a new room. The problem with the shower and toilet were not discovered and reported until the morning of our departure so it was too late. While the inn is being renovated to hopefully upgrade the bath fixtures, this room should not have been assigned in its condition. While the shower and toilet problems were discovered too late to be corrected during our stay, once reported we were offered no compensation for our inconvenience.

The first 2 nights we had very noisy \"neighbors\" well into the night and beginning again at 4am. The staff were excellent . i did report that the shower had a constant stream of water, and the bathtub was discolored around the drain area. The toilet tissue holder had been broken. These are mostly \"minor\"things, and otherwise it is a lovely hotel, and not far from downtown Tuscumbia.

The hotel was unique and close to being excellent. There is construction going on, but we were up and gone by 930 or so and it did not affect us. The decorations were interesting, but definitely made it stand out a bit from similar hotels. The only negative was that the floor in our room was dirty and very sticky in one spot otherwise it was nice.

Just an absolute Southern delight. The grand lobby furnishings, 2nd floor lobby - Oriental carpets, decor and tapestries all 1st class. Guest amenities and breakfast were very good. Desk staff offered Southern hospitality!
