The highlight of a stay at the Radisson Blu Bosphorus hotel has to be breakfast. To sit at the water’s edge in Europe looking across to Asia is a unique experience. The food is plentiful and excellent, the staff friendly but professional. The only fly in the ointment during this stay were some other guests who behaved like hunter-gatherers piling a table with cakes, fruit, even omelettes that were left uneaten, but wasted in a table of melon pieces squashed strawberries and patisseries.
That, of course is not the fault of the hotel and I would add that we have stayed here many times and this was the first time we encountered the caveman family. Even here, the staff were brilliant.

We stayed in the Annex building and had multiple issues with our key card being disconnected and then the place to insert the key broke for the main entrance and we had to wait until maintenance came! Not something I’d expect from a 5 star hotel. Staff not warm at all!

I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel Istanbul from 8th June 2024 to 11th June 2024.

I had originally stayed at this hotel in 2006 when it first opened, it was clean, functional, and a professional hotel establishment, in an excellent location on the Bosphorus. Now it has become a second-rate, decrepit hotel, which is falling apart, with demoralised staff trying to do their best. I have traveled widely around the world in the past 40-plus years and this certainly is one of my worst hotel experiences.

I have listed the things wrong with this establishment, and they are all to do with lack of care and spending of money on maintenance/refurbishment of a building located in the best part of Istanbul on the Bosphorus.

Problems with Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel Istanbul

Room keys not working, I had to go downstairs to the reception at least 6 times because they needed to charge up the room key!
When we arrived the sink in the bathroom was blocked.
When we arrived the tap in the sink was not working and had to be repaired.
Air-conditioning in rooms is completely useless, hardly cools and the control panels are not working properly.
The air conditioning in the hotel is not functioning properly so extremely humid and uncomfortable.
The bar area on the ground floor has no openable windows, so with a dysfunctional air conditioning system and no breeze coming in, no one uses it.

The property is very old, our room was for two people not three as described, extra bed was very uncomfortable. We booked full Bosphorus view room but we got partial sea view!!!
We tried to cancel the reservation and requested a refund from the first night but our request was rejected so our entire trip to Istanbul was affected! The termostat in the room was not working so we were very cold at night and we got sick! I am not sure how this hotel is rated as 5 stars when they don’t even have a pool. I will not book a stay in this hotel ever again.

Best View in Istanbul?

The location cannot be beat, with room and expansive terrace overlooking the \"First Bridge\" crossing Bosphorous Asia-Europe for 100th Anniversary of Turkiye's Republic Day. So close to the water, with unobstructed view all the way to Topkapi. Excellent hotel service. Parking very convenient. Pet friendly. About 75m to Ortakoy ferry & area with endless restaurants and small shops so popular with locals. Further east & north about 1km are city's chic waterfront nightclubs, nestled near the Fer Mas dealership featuring Ferraris & Maseratis for sale, so it is upscale and safe neighborhood. Narrow winding streets, hidden expansive courtyards, enticing alleyways all reinforce your decision to visit Istanbul.

The facility can use some updating, so hope the relatively new Radisson ownership may decide to invest further to upgrade the brand to be on par with the so many other offerings on Bosphorous shoreline, listed here just casually from memory: 3 along the shore that are based or affiliated in Hong Kong, 1 Bangkok, 1 Toronto, 1 Geneva, and if a bit further inland a bit from the shore: 1 high end and 1 even higher end France based, several McLean (Virginia, USA) based, lots TRK based, and even more with brand based in Bethesda (Maryland, USA), and one very high end well inland located in top shopping area that is France based. Lots of options in IST for guest to choose; Radisson Blu should consider upgrades to attract clientele commensurate with its prime location.

I really feel sorry that this hotel has this location.First of all I booked for a junior suite with a panoramic view and as you can see in the pictures all I got is a view of the restaurant’s roof !!!!
The curtains and the blackout are torn and the A/C is full of mold.
Then I was downgraded to a room due to no availability of another suite.

Concierge need to inform themselves better with ferry routes/pricing and Bosphorus tour options, as they gave us false and conflicting information.
A quick search online gave us better options for travelling around the city.
Rooms are spacious and overall clean, except for some mold around some shower tiles.
Breakfast was excellent and the view of the Bosphorus was even better.

The food was excellent and the location is a throw away from the water and all the stores and restaurants. Stayed here for about two weeks with my mom. At first we were placed in the Annex building which was unpleasant. The room was dated, a bit smelly and had an obstructed view of some type of machinery. Fortunately, we were able to switch rooms in the main building on the lower floor. While this room was convenient to get to breakfast and the gym, and had the most gorgeous sea view, it did come with some cons, notably:
- it’s located beside a club and yachts that sea sail blasting music until wee hours of the night if you value your sleep, I do not recommend.
- there is carpet and velvet furniture throughout. I wish it wasn’t for allergy/hygiene reasons.
- the AC was archaic and a pain to work. The temperature of the rooms would fluctuate (hot/cold).

The room was a bit archaic and definitely needs some modernization. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious every morning with a huge selection of options which was very convenient. The location was also stellar. Being by the sea was special.

The location is great, few steps from restaurants and bars, as well as access to various river tours.
The terraces open to guests are great, but best of all is the room we had with terrace overlooking the bosphorus river with a spectacular view of the bridge.
The bathroom was a little on small side, but this was minor

Has amazing views of the Bosphorus, great breakfast spread. Staff (in general) are cordial but not overly welcoming. The room was the saddest part. It had a nice terrace with view to Bosphorus, but the room itself showed the wear and tear. The grout in the shower had mold (black stains), the cealing in the bathroom was peeling off, the wood frame around the doors and baseboard showed signs of being wet and paint peeling off. No carpert in room, felt very cold. Went to see another room next door, they did have the carpet. Just not the expected value for the price.

it was one of our hotel to stay in phosphorus area. Unfortunately it turned into an old facility. It needs serious cleaning and overhaul. Prices are too high. Food had no taste. I ordered an omelet and what I was served was very small size possibly one egg omelet for 100tl. Very disappointed. Regardless stuff is very nice serving with smile.

This hotel is excellent in so many ways.
We had a guest for a weak and we reserved another room for her next to our room and our guest was very pleased with all services like us.
The most important is that the hotel staff accepted to keep one of our suitcases in storage for almost three months with no cost as we are traveling to Spain and other countries and we come back to this amazing hotel again and staying for two weeks in Turkey!
I recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great, safe place with very kind staff!
Very interesting to see in this hotel, we saw a very nice gentleman name Serdar Tuncer
Security manager who is checking out all staff and all eras of hotel all day to see everything is in order.

The customer service experience was horrible and there were several instances where we couldn’t get someone at the reception answer a call or address our concern. For example, the air conditioner in the room was malfunctioning and after several attempts at calling to the reception to make them aware, to no avail, we told them in person and it was still not fixed until we left. Not answering phone calls and not responding to our concern was the main experience of the hotel.

Room wasn't as described, ask for a refund and was told i would need to contact Orbitz and then they would refund where i could go elsewhere.
Contacted Orbitz , ready to process refund then they said no, they lied deliberately to me, then charged 65 euro to change rooms,
Bathroom had black mold in ceiling and tub area.
Very poor customer service lied to me to my face, issuing a refund, really a ripe off place of a Radisson. I was trying the Radisson but I'll stick with Hilton anything buyer beware.

Just want to make everyone aware that this Radisson Blu has two buildings. All the photos that they have on their website are from their new and nice building which offers single rooms (mostly for higher end clients)

There’s another building right beside it, that is really outdated and extremely untidy. Carpets are old, pipes make noises through out the day and night, dusty and right beside a club called Rubby which would not allow you to sleep at night.

Please avoid this place at all cost, you will be disappointed unless you’re willing to risk the fact that they may save you a room in their newer building.

Disappointing because we paid 600$ for two nights and the accommodation was not worth even half of it.

Location was its great but there are multiple other options around it.

This is our probably third stay at the Radisson. We find the hotel nice to stay given its central location, excellent view, and generally good service. In this stay, we had similar impressions. We were particularly happy about their consciousness for the pandemic (e.g guests are. Or allowed to take their own food at breakfast but staff helps to prepare your plate which minimizes possible exposure. The only issue we had was service at the restaurant was a bit slow though the staff were pleasant. Another issue was the pillows which were very very soft and too few for a comfortable sleep. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Great place to enjoy the Bosporus and the city!

The location of the hotel is excellent, as it’s overlooking the Bosporus and next to a series of beautiful and historical landmarks (ie, Ciragan and Yildiz Palaces, the Dolmabahce Palace), and in a walking distance to the Besiktas piers (great to hop on a boat for the Asian side - Kadiköy and Uskudar, and on a nostalgic Bosporus Boat Tour). It’s also surrounded by many and diverse eateries and night clubs. The night scene near the hotel and the Ortakoy Mosque is a little wild and unpleasant due to very large crowds of people. However, the place is safe.

The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable, and provide a gourmet coffee maker and a kettle for making tea. The TV channel choices are superb, and the WiFi connection is very strong.

The checkin staff are courteous and nice, and are willing to help.

The hotel deck by the sea is a great place to chill out and to enjoy your favourite drinks and good any time of the day and evening.

I highly recommend Radisson Blu by the Bosporus for any type of stay in Istanbul.

The space in the room and the view was excellent, but that was known and consistent with the information about the room.
However, room was extremely hot, and took 6 hours to cool down to reasonable temperature (not the target). There was a cigarette stub on the balcony, and maybe a hundred small ants in one location indicating Not a prior thorough cleaning.
Upgrade for VIP was not offered, assuming that there was no better “presidential unit“, but not sure...
Especially when there is no upgrade, I typically expect a welcome gift, drink, a bottle or amenity. There was nothing. No offer or mention of anything. Moreover, the mini bar was completely empty. Only water and coffee making for two was available.
It was disappointing for the presidential unit, and the price. I wondered if I received a different treatment or service because I used my Expedia rewards (for the first time in many years) instead of paying.
View and staff services in breakfast were excellent, as expected, but it was a disappointment for me. I had planned to stay there again on November 21st. But I am not sure now.

SUCK!!!

The room was not clean enough .
pillows were old and not clean.
breakfast exorbitant price and very meager.
I definitely do not recommend.
