This is a great property in wonderful location just inside the city walls. One thing, we didn’t realize there was no elevator and upon check in discovered we were on the third floor. A lovely room but a little much for two seniors and four bags. A quick text message to the staff and we were moved down a floor. Very much appreciated! Very generous space in this medieval property. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thishotel is in a fantastic location; it is situated just inside the old gates to the city. And despite being over 500 years old, the room had everything needed for a comfortable stay. My room was huge and overlooked the main road but was still pretty quiet.

If you are driving, pay attention to the parking situation. You have to park at P1 and then walk, but it’s not far. The upside is that you’re staying right on the edge of town.

We saw the most amazing sunset from our 4th floor room and the hotel staff helped us get a Taxi from Pienza to the hotel in a pinch. Loved every second of our visit here!

We reserved a room for 3 people and basically got a 2 bedroom unit for a very reasonable price. Beds were comfortable. Unit was clean. Location was great - beautiful view from the balcony over the countryside and was right in the center of the city so easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Parking was a bit of a hassle but I eventually found some. Included breakfast from a cafe on the street that was delightful.

This hotel is located right at the main gate to the pedestrian zone. The location is perfect. Easy access to everything the town has to offer. Parking is less than a block away. The room was spacious. Only drawback, the room was on the top floor with no elevator & no one to help with luggage upon arrival or departure. Understanding that it’s in a historic building, but an option of an on-site helper would have been appreciated.

We had no interactions with any staff other than to get parking information via WhatsApp. The rooms are old (it was a palazzo after all!) but well-kept. We only stayed one night but it was comfortable and wonderful to be right in the center of town.

We had issues with the AC not working, the next day they changed the room and treated us to vouchers for Premium breakfast for two days. All in all it was a very nice stay and the staff was excellent

This property was lovely and rustic. Each outwardly facing window offer a spectacular view, and the rooms are spacious and clean.There's no elevator, so be prepared to carry your bags up a few flights of uneven stairs.Be careful around some of the furniture though, as some pieces are wobbly, and not too stable.

A Charming B&B in Montepulciano
The room was absolutely charming and roomy with stunning views. Our room was on the 5th floor and there is no elevator so we got our exercise! It’s in the historic City center and the location was wonderful. We could walk to everything and the medieval town is just lovely and filled with interesting sites, views, wine cellars, and nice restaurants. There was no air conditioning and it was a bit stuffy at night, but we opened the windows for fresh air. The breakfast (included) was excellent. If you arrive by bus, make sure you have transportation lined up at the bus station in advance or have the ability to call a taxi. There is a tunnel with an elevator up to town nearby, but none of that is obvious and it may be difficult with luggage. Also, taxis are very expensive in Montepulciano. Be sure to confirm the price with the driver up front and be sure to have some cash. Valentina greeted us and helped us with some logistics. She was very friendly and helpful, but the reception area is not always staffed so be sure to get check-in instructions in advance. If you don’t mind climbing stairs I highly recommend Palazzo Mosela Alla Porta!

Palazzo Mosela Alla Porta was a lovely, cosy accommodation for my stay in Montepulciano. The room was delightful, characterful, comfortable, and within walking distance of everything in Montepulciano. Being at the entrance to the town it’s easy to find.
But the outstanding element is the service. Valentina and the staff were quick to engage with me via WhatsApp and went to great lengths to make sure I had a great experience. Valentina was wonderfully friendly and helped reserve great restaurants and suggested wonderful cellars to visit.
The level of support and hospitality here makes this accommodation really outstanding.

It was very difficult to find. It would’ve been helpful to have instructions on the parking situation. The room smells very strongly of a heavy perfume. It was almost unbearable.
Was very cold the heater did not work, and there was nobody to help. We had somebody from a nearby restaurant actually follow us to the hotel room to try to figure out the heater, unsuccessfully.

Although this hotel is inside the walled city parking is OK just outside the wall and a short walk. Most of the time there are no office staff here. So your keys may be left in an envelope at reception.

2 couples had rooms 3 & 4. We stayed in Oct from Tues-Friday. This Hotel is convenient, Ludo was responsive, the room is large, had good air conditioning and shower had great pressure.
This hotel is affiliated with a couple restaurants and enotecas. The good news is that they were amazing. The Porto di Bacco enoteca is directly across the street and has amazing wine expert. They are also a restaurant. We are at Antica di Trattoria Marzocco which was also delish. (Need reservations) the free breakfast is up the street at Pilazzo Avignonesi. They open before 8 and the service is exceptional. Selection of pastries was extensive
If I had to pick this hotel apart it will be because 1) the mattress pad is vinyl which made it hotter than necessary and 2) the hairdryer for long hair is small and cheap. A few $’s from the owners could solve these issues easily.

Check in and check out poor. No orientation. Confused because we thought we were above or attached to winery. When we found winery ourselves, we were treated poorly, not offered tastings. No tables available. Not given info on where to go to breakfast, none of other guests were either. We were all looking for “envelope” with vouchers which weren’t there. We all wandered around, finally cleaning lady let us know where to go but venue wanted vouchers. Worst was we were told we needed to book taxi day ahead to ensure service, and she would book for us. Turns out it wasnt booked but she said she could get a taxi half hour before our train was leaving. Must have been a friend not taxi, passed a taxi stand on way with plenty of taxis, her “friend” charged us $25 Euro’s to go 4kilometers. Loved the location and room. Service poor or non existent.

The hotel has a great location however we had a bad experience getting to the hotel and there wasn’t anyone there to greet us. We had to look in automated emails from the hotel for instructions telling us that the girl that works there was at a different restaurant etc etc
I wish they at least had a note at the hotel letting guests know about that I’m English because it is a very touristic area and we do not speak Italian.
They give you a coupon for breakfast at some other restaurant that we could t use because they weren’t opened yet. Besides that the location si great and we were lucky enough to find parking about two blocks from the hotel for 10€ x day

Location is great, wonderful view and just inside the arch as you enter this beautiful town. However, there are many steep and narrow steps to get to rooms and no elevator. And the breakfast that comes with the room is at a restaurant half a mile or so away _ not at the hotel. No coffee available in the room or at the hotel, not even instant coffee. These negatives would have made me rethink staying here.

A great stay in a great location.
Ideal location to visit a remarkable city. Hotel is just inside the city wall at a main entry. Parking is difficult to find. Try the pay lot by the tourist info building. Parking between white lines is free. Our room was on the third floor with no elevator. The bed was comfortable but other furniture is dated. Modern washroom. Room 3 has creaky wood steps up into the washroom. Service was friendly for both checkin and room cleaning. There are a multitude of fabulous restaurants, shops, wine bars, etc. within a minute’s walk. We would definitely come back!

Meat Locker in Montepulciano - Terrible Service
The heating unit in the room is not adequate enough to heat the room properly and our room stayed around 50 degrees F during our entire stay. The WiFi stopped working. Our neighbors were definitely smoking in their room. We had a cold shower and we could not figure out where breakfast was served. Unfortunately we also could not find any staff to help us with any of the issues we were having within the hotel and through email we were consistently told how to operate the heater, which we were already doing properly. I spent the entire night freezing and left the hotel one-night early due to the rude staff when I complained via email. I travel often and never have found staff so unhelpful or rude.

We found this hotel excellent value for money, the staff, Martina was extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was a typically Tuscan but very clean, spacious with an excellent bathroom and first class shower, good pressure and good supply of hot water. The bed was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was off site about a 5 min walk, basic continental breakfast but adequate. Location was good at the bottom of the hill of the main street in montepulciano 2 good restaurants located within metres of the hotel. Car parking good for an hilltop city, use P1 free all day if you park in the white lines not blue ones.

The Palazzo Mosela Alla Porta was a wonderful small hotel for us in Montepulciano. There was a host waiting when we got to town, and they even let us check in a little early. The room was very comfortable and clean, with high ceilings and decorations fitting for this beautiful Tuscany hill town. Included in our stay was a discount at the family store and restaurant, both nearby and nice. The breakfast was a typical European breakfast and was a very nice inclusion. If and when we make it back to Montepulciano, we would happily stay here again.

Lovely place, helpful staff and ideal location both for walking round Montepulciano and touring surrounding countryside. Just inside the town walls but close enough to the gate to be convenient for car parks (unlike other hotels further uphill.) Comfortable rooms, excellent air conditioning and great views. No room service or restaurant, but breakfast included at the family's winery and farm-shop 200 yards away.

We were very pleased with our stay here. The young lady who met us when we arrived was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable. The bathroom is totally modern and the fixtures are excellent. Topped off with really fluffy towels. Our room was on the top floor with a wonderful view. The stairs up are a little tiring especially in the heat we had, but also part of the charm. The location was excellent, close to parking and restaurants. As a bonus, the breakfasts are fabulous! We would highly recommend the Palazzo Mosela Alla Porta!

The location was great for arriving in Montepulciano, near the gate and parking. The room is adequate in most ways, no more or less. The reception was brief and hurried, not a 24 hour desk. Most disappointing was that there was no town map available at the hotel and no help or assistance with local sights from anyone. Tried the Tourist office, but they were closed. In the end, found some great places to enjoy and try the local wines; Cantina della Talosa, Contucci Cantina and De’Ricci Cantine were all impressive
