I had a wonderful stay at Osteria del Borgo. The property was exceptionally clean and perfectly located right in the center of town, making it easy to walk everywhere. Communication throughout was excellent—the staff were friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming.

The breakfast was amazing, with a great selection and quality. A special thanks to the owner, who went above and beyond by helping with parking and being very flexible with check-in, which made the whole experience even smoother.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Gorgeous area and we had the most excellent dinner in the restaurant. We lived Montepulciano!!! Our room was very dark m, unfortunately, as the window opened onto the stairwell. It would’ve been lovely to have a comfortable chair to retreat to other than just the bed to sit on.

The property was perfectly situated at the top of a small hilltop town and our room was lovely. Francesco and the staff were very friendly and excellent in all respects. Treated us like family. The included breakfast was terrific. We also took the advantage of joining a wine tasting at Osteria Del Borgo. Erica and Francesco tag teamed the presentation of 9 local wines. We had a great time and would go again.

This is an ok choice if you are looking for a basic room at a reasonable price. The location is great! The standard room had limited windows/light and looked out on an alley. NO one came to clean the room (stayed 2 nights). The rooms are part of the restaurant which was closed on monday, our second day there. No one around to ask questions or request towels, cleaning or other basic items. Breakfast was ok. There was no prior communication from the hotel prior to arrival, and it was very difficult to find since it is in a limited parking zone . Took us a long time walking in the evening to find the hotel and then go back to find our car. Prior instructions would have been so helpful. No one there for checkout. Bottom line, ok basic room but communicate with hotel prior to arrival and bring your own toilet paper!

Apartment was 2 floors, spacious and clean and the sunset view was spectacular. White linens, comfy bed. Above a busy restaurant which was lovely to eat at (the terrasse has the best view in Montelpulciano!) and the food was good. Francesco is a character and made dining enjoyable. It was a bit loud at night with windows open but very quiet if closed. This is not luxury but a solidly good, well excellent value for money accommodation. Breakfast in the taverna was decent and taverna itself pretty neat. Staff was excellent, and the not-great-English of some made the experience all the more authentic. Would recommend.

This property was amazing! At the very top overlooking the central plaza. The area it was in was so beautiful. The owners were extremely nice and helped us get to the parking lot which was aout a ten minute walk away. Every morning a very nice breakfast was waiting for us in the restaurant. The food at night was exquisite, and we always got the best seat in the house on a beautiful terrace overlooking the countryside. I would highly recommend this place abd hopefully make it back again someday.

Clearer arrival details would have helped. I parked my car, had to move it then move it again following the owner to the official parking space and getting a lift back with him. Staff were lovely and helpful. The views from the terrace are amazing but we weren’t allowed to have just an evening drink there as they didn’t want to ‘set a precedent’ even with empty tables later in the evening.
Breakfast could have been served here too, we were told it would be, instead we sat in the dark restaurant with a 1970’s breakfast offering- it wasn’t good. The room we stayed in was huge with great views and a comfy bed. This isn’t luxury living by any stretch but the staff were very nice.

Old, dark, woodworms in beams, spacious room

The property is in a good location but it really needs some updating. The wooden beams in the ceiling had woodworm and at night you could hear it. We also found wood dust on the ground the next morning. The owners are nice and helpful with parking your car, but they don’t speak any English. No coffee maker in the room. The space is large but stuffy, dark and old. Bathroom needs cleaning and updating. Our room was in the front of the building and was noisy until midnight. Breakfast was good and had many choices, but the chairs were very uncomfortable. We were disappointed with his stay.

Communication with owner excellent. Was able to drop bags at unit and then park car in space provided by hotel about a 10 minute walk down or up depending on direction. Apartment large and comfortable. Breakfast nice continental assortment. Owner helped with bags up 2 flights of stairs checking in. Excellent location. Every thing nearby. We would book again

Great guys running the place. Comfortable bed. Perfect area. Music school next door provided piano and string instrument music through the windows. Amazing. Breakfast was nice, with type and volume of food huge!

The apartment was mostly clean, with gorgeous windows and lots of space. Fairly dated furniture, which is fine for wood pieces, not so much for the sofas. Attention to detail lacking. A thorough clean and update, especially the sofas, curtains, accessories etc would do a lot for the place.

We had a view out the front, which was ok. The views out the back are gorgeous.

We had a wonderful stay at Ostia Del Borgo in apartment Ricci. The apartment is huge, well equipped and located right on the main square, so great location. This property is right off the main Piazza in Montepulchiano. It is located over a restaurant with a side entrance and parking can be arranged down the street. The restaurant is actually very good and provides breakfast each morning. The room itself was nice size and well-appointed. I honestly thought the view out the window was photoshopped when I saw the online pictures, but I'm here to tell you that it's absolutely as fantastic as you want it to be! We enjoyed our stay very much and would happily stay again.

I had a wonderful stay at Osteria del Borgo. The family were so welcoming and very helpful with parking my car. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, almost didn’t want to leave it. I had dinner in their restaurant my first night there, I think it was the best meal I had while in Montepulciano. If your thinking about staying here, do it, you won’t be sorry.

This Osteria has a great restaurant and is in an excellent location. The property and our room have amazing views and sunsets. They have 3 free parking spots about a 5-minute walk down the hill and we are able to get one. The property is very clean, but could use some updating. Mattress was bouncy and we didn’t have an electric kettle which was disappointing. The staff was pleasant and we would stay here again if spending the evening in Montepulciano.

We stayed 2 days and one night at this beautiful hotel and would definitely return in the future. Giacomo’s service made us feel welcome and was very helpful providing us with directions to get to the hotel and finding the parking. This place looks like an apartment with kitchen, living room and bedroom and a cozy fireplace. My favorite part was the beautiful window facing the piazza where you can feel part of the community. The hotel has a terrace where we enjoyed an incredible sunset. The breakfast was really delicious ; prosciutto, Italian baked sweets, great coffee and water. The hotel has also a restaurant with delicious food where we enjoyed an amazing local dinner.

Property situated in the heart of the Montepulciano castle town. You couldn’t be more central! Restaurant attached to hotel was delicious and had fantastic views of the countryside. We were so lucky to get a charming one bedroom apartment with a small terrace looking over the walking street. It’s an old building but if you want an authentic and spacious option, this is the place. Apartment includes kitchen, living room and dining table.

A 700 year old building, hence no elevators. The apartment had an amazing view and a large living room. The bed was hard, old, and not so comfortable.

We went to the restaurant for dinner twice and sat on the patio with breath taking views. The food is not excellent but good.

Right off main piazza with wonderful breakfast!

I stayed here for two nights with my husband, parents, and sister. We all had plenty of comfortable space. From the living room window, we could see right into the main piazza. There were plenty of toiletries and towels. The staff was very friendly and so helpful! Francesco organized a taxi pickup for us the night before we had to leave because we would be leaving early. He even packed an amazing breakfast for us since we would miss it the next morning! You must have dinner on the back patio and enjoy the gorgeous sunset (**and amazing food**)! I hope to return, and I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Montepulciano is a beautiful town and Osteria del Borgio gives one the experience of a traditional Italian stay. The owners are kind and receptive and the restaurant serves delicious food. The apartment we rented is in great need of renovation, however The furniture, cupboards, bathroom tiles, etc., are quite outdated, and the mattress springs could be felt when sleeping.

Montepulciano was amazing, and the Osteria del Borgo was wonderful. . . Tough for the physically challenged, however (no elevator), but the same could be said for Montepulciano in general.. We had a two bed 2 bath apt. 4 of the 5 of us are seniors. The steep stairs with no hand rails on some of the 4 or 5 flights up to the apartment, meant we could not bring up any suitcases. We opened our cases in the car and carried our overnite necessities in plastic bags. The restaurant does not open until 7, so if you like to eat early, you are out of luck.

Wonderful B&B in Mintepulciano

Loved our stay at this little B&B at the top of the old city. We were lucky enough to get the apartment with a view of the Tuscan countryside. Nothing short of stunning. This is in a 13th Century building so expect steps up to your room, but the hotel staff will take your luggage up for you. It is really big with plenty of room for my family of 4. Be sure to eat at their terrace restaurant. Wonderful food and views. We cannot wait to return to this family run B&B. Owners are amazing. English spoken fluently.

we enjoyed our stay here. Great location for walking around town, wine tasting and eating, not to mention the amazing views you get from the hotel, your room and around. The restaurant and wine cellar are really good and have decent prices (remember to book a reservation early). Also, they offer easy parking options at no extra charge, important to explore other towns around.
The only con was that our room did not have an attached bathroom and had to leave the room to access it.
Overall, we loved our stay and will def come back.

The Best Small, Family Owned Hotel Ever!

We had the 2 floor penthouse suite in a 4 room hotel located in the center of an Italian Hill Town. The views from our windows were fantastic. The suite with it's living room with fireplace, kitchen and dining room and second floor bedroom and bath were made even better with a 2nd floor loft over the living room that you reached via bridge from the bedroom landing. The views from this level were even better that those from the living room.

We cannot wait to return here in the future and would suggest the location to everyone who might be planning on staying in the area. We had a late lunch and did not eat dinner in their Osteria, but if the food was as good as their breakfast I am sure that is would have been great. The smells from the outdoor dining area that were wafting up to our room were mouth watering.

room was an apartment. large with living room, kitchen in the apartment (with full facilities), nice bathroom, comfortable bed. Located on 'main via' in Montepulciano. Very good restaurant attached. Great views from outside Terrace: sit outside if possible. Great wine selection, very good food. Excellent hospitality from owner and his family. Discount if you stay at hotel and eat at restaurant! we had a case of wine shipped home, too. They took care of all details. Very helpful. Made us feel at home. Our apartment overlooked main via but there is no traffic, especially after dark because this is small town so we opened windows for fresh air. Would absolutely return! Not pretentious but very nice and laid back.

The room was fantastic. Tons of space, clean, and beautiful. The staff was beyond amazing. They dropped everything to get us checked in and comfortably situated in our room. They got us reservations for what turned out to be an absolutely amazing dinner in their restaurant. One of the sons speaks excellent English and was there for our every need. The father and several other employees don't speak any English, but were incredibly patient and friendly as we stumbled through with our very minimal Italian. It was a little hard to find the location, but thankfully the gps knew were to go, you just have to trust it. Fabulous staff, fabulous hotel. We highly recommend it.

The food downstairs was amazing !

The bed and breakfast put on a fantastic breakfast with cold meats, cereal , yoghurt, fruit and cofee. We had lunch and dinner there as well as we couldn't beat the view on the patio and the food was all delicious . The pici the Tuscan traditional pasta was the best! The television in the room didn't work which was disappointing. Other than that it was a nice place with good location !

My wife and I recently stayed at Osteria del Borgo for a friend's wedding. The hotel, (big!) room suites, service, and location were all excellent.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and even picked us up from the bus station late at night. The food downstairs in the restaurant was great and the terrace out back provided great food and wine with unbeatable views of the valley below.

The room was huge and a great reprieve from the usual smaller hotel rooms. The room with a large kitchen and living room (in addition to bedroom) was all decorated in a Tuscan decor and made for a very relaxing stay (when the children weren't playing soccer in the neighboring square until midnight ;)). Cable TV was also nice to unwind with at night or catch up with news in the morning.

All around, highly recommended.

don't skip montepulciano if you have the time

we loved montepulciano and the management at Osteria. we had dinner at their restaurant and it was superb. breakfast there was only fair though. the building itself and the village are charming and full of history. wine bars everywhere...wine cellars to visit...etruscan spirits everywhere! the apt we had was two story with a huge living room, full kitchen and 3 bedrooms! it was immaculately clean...and has wonderful medieval ambience with all the modern conveniences. only suggestion is that the beds are old and lumpy and not supportive...they feel a little like a sofa mattress. all 3 were that bad.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Osteria del Borgo in Montepulciano, Italy. The staff at the inn were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great, right off the Piazza Grande. Make sure you eat at their restaurant. We had lunch and dinner ther, and both meals were excellent! They also offer an outstanding wine list, featuring local Montepulciano and other Tuscan reds. Make sure you try one of the Vino Nobiles from either Montepulciano or nearby towns. Delicious and reasonably priced.

Wonderful place to stay!

We had a wonderful one night stay at Osteria del Borgo. Our host was very helpful in giving directions to the hotel, the parking provided is very safe and convenient and just a tiny walk away from our room.

Upon arrival we were kindly informed that we had been upgraded (yippee!) so ended up in a fantastic suite with a huge bed, living room and spa bathtub. Montepulciano was getting ready for new year's celebrations, including the consruction of a massive bonfire that I wish we could have stayed to see! Winter has to be one of the most magical times to visit Tuscany - virtually no crowds and fantastic lights everywhere!

Breakfast was inadequate, by far the worst we had during our 2 week stay in Tuscany, while the B&B was among the most expensive. We were booked for bed and breakfast in what was described as a suite. There certainly was a fair amount of space but furnishings were extremely shabby. There was a kitchen that we had no use for and a nice seating area which wasn't really that inviting - could do with a real make over. The worst thing was that there was no room service during the 3 days we stayed there and no one told us to expect that. We have never stayed in a B&B anywhere in the world where we had to make our own bed and ask for towels etc for our room. As I said if we had been told to expect that it wouldn't have been a problem. Over all attention to detail was poor though family running the place was pleasant enough.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay in this wonderfully quaint place. We were given a 3 room apartment which had a spacious living room with high ceilings, an adequate kitchen and although rooms were small, they were cosy and comfortable. Being a 14th century building (as we were told by the animated and friendly Francesco), there was no lift and we had to climb a few flights of stairs. Location is fantastic and the views from the restaurant's terrace is breathtaking. Although the only family member who could speak English was Francesco, we were welcomed warmly by family members who made us feel at home.
