This hotel was chosen mainly because of the cheap price for a quick overnight stop during our road trip.

The room and facilities were very basic, and the overall comfort was below our expectations. It might work if you just need a very cheap place to sleep for one night, but it wasn’t a place we would return to.

Convenient but Charmless.

We booked this hotel because we have used it before and know it is ideally located for a quick getaway on to the motorway, as we were on the final leg of a very long journey up from southern Spain. Le Mans is a beautiful city, with lots to see, so is well worth a visit. A short drive from the hotel brings you to the city walls, where there is a large free car park, enabling visitors to walk through the narrow medieval streets. This time however, after experiencing a tyre blow out on the journey, all we wanted to do was stop, eat and sleep! We made it to reception 10 minutes before it closed and the receptionist was extremely helpful checking us into our adjoining rooms with the dog. We spoke French, she spoke English and the whole transaction was quick and efficient. Rooms were quite large and on the ground floor, so luggage could be passed in through the window to save walking. The en-suite bathrooms are tiny, but everything worked well. Travelling with a dog, the large park just outside the hotel gate is a real bonus for walking.
A short distance away is an excellent pizzeria, which is where we ate before heading to bed.
In the morning, the breakfast lacked several of the usual items (yogurt, sliced bread, fruit) and the member of staff on duty was surly and reluctant to find any replacements. My teenage sons found little to eat. We left before the official checkout time, but had already been hassled twice by cleaning staff wanting to sort the room.

I booked a triple room with double plus twin beds, for one adult and two children. Upon arriving I was given a double and single. I questioned the reception, who were very rude and said that this was the same. So my two children could share and they had no other options. The WiFi didn’t work and the shower room was very dirty. I’ve stayed at many other hotels in the same chain, but probably won’t be staying here again.

Ideal stopover.

3rd time we have stayed here to break up the journey south. Easy to get to off the Autoroute, quiet location and cheap and clean with free WiFi. Less than a Km away is a carrefour if you need to get anything fresh for the continued journey.

We did not see any reception staff on arrival and checked in automatically. At 10.00 next day the water was cut off with no information given to us though we had been to breakfast and to reception. There were no signs about maintenance being done and at least one other couple were also caught out. I spoke to the manager who did not apologize or offer any recompense. When I pay for private facilities and have a room until12.00, I am not happy to have water cut off while I am showering or to be denied use of the toilet . This experience has spoiled my previously favorable impressions of Premiere Classe hotels.

Old and tired.

Third time staying here and has never failed to disappoint. Comfy bed after a long drive. Is about all it has going for it. Could not get in the car park at first and the ticket machine told me to report at the front desk. But the front door was locked and there was no one at reception. Luckily a already check in guest let three parties in the car park and the opened the front door.

Where myself and the two other parties were left alone at reception without anyone to check us in for 15 minutes.

You get what you pay for.

Bed was comfortable and thankfully skipped breakfast.

Nice big open car park. Easy to locate from motorway (with trailer). Smart modern campus location. Close to amenities - food, patisserie. Clean, comfortable. Good simple breakfasts. Breakfast TV to catch up on News. Wifi that works.

An easy stop

Easy to find as they have put up Yellow signs on the main road. On arriving, pleasant receptionist swapped to English when she heard our poor French. Room was small but very clean and the en-suite shower room small but adequate. Bed was OK, memory foam type.
On asking where we could eat, it was suggested that we turn right out of the entrance and walk uphill 5 minutes. The first Italian restaurant we came too was not open yet and when we went back after his opening time, ignored us and another chap who was waiting also. We went a bit further up the slight hill and found a small parade of shops. This had another restaurant that was also a takeaway. We ate there and enjoyed our food and a good selection of local beers.
The next morning we explored the old, medieval part of Le Mans in the rain. Well worth a visit.

We visited Le Mans and stayed the night on our return to the U.K. The hotel was adequate and clean. It has private parking which is well lit at night. Premiere Class Hotels are usually good value.

Great cheap hotel for a quick overnight stay

This is a great hotel if you just want a quick overnight stay on your way to your destination. The rooms are clean but small. The bathroom is very tiny. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. There is a pizza restaurant closeby and also a McDonalds.

I did not get what I ordered.

The rooms were OK, but I had ordered and and paid for a double room for my wife and I and a Triple room for our 3 teenage daughters. Despite having copies of these 2 bookings, I was told that there were no triple rooms left for my 3 daughters so they had to squeeze into a double bed room. I have the order receipts to prove this.

Late Night Le Mans

The hotel is situated at the end of the Tram stop near the University. It is OK for one or two nights stay. Beware that the reception closes at 9.00pm. If you arrive after that time you need to register at the kiosk in the car park to receive your room key. Ours got stuck in the dispenser and it was only the fact that someone let us into the hotel that we managed to borrow some tools to free the card. The emergency number was unobtainable. Could have been a lock out

A great hotel for the price on a good location and added bonus of free WiFi. The only problem I had was for the check-out as the reception is not open 24 hours and a drop-box for the keys is not provided which makes very hard for a early check-out if needed.

Room was clean, roomier than other Première Classe hotels, friendly staff, good value breakfast, secure car park (which was just what I needed when touring on my motorbike). Across the road from a tram stop, with frequent easy access to Le Mans. Satnav struggled to find the hotel but there are yellow signs on the roundabout which will lead straight to it. I have stayed here before and would stay here again.

A little tired and lacking. But fantastic staff.

Just a overnighter from a long drive. The hotel was easy to find and handy if you were in Le Man's for a longer period. The lady at the reception was fantastic! She ignored my pathetic French and spoke excellent English to me. She even got me some hot water for my toddler's milk.

Unfortunately the hotel was a little tired and looked as though a complete refit was needed.

We needed somewhere to rest and it served it's purpose.

Total lack of proper care and communication

On our first visit on 26th August, the door was difficult to gain access to and at first we could not make the card key work for us. A helpful neighbouring French visitor also tried without success. I informed the desk and they went and reported back that it was perfectly all right, bit required considerable force to wrench the handle down. On entering we could not turn on the lights or power. When I went to the desk the second time I was told that you had to insert the card key into a wall box to make the electricity function. When I remarked that nobody had explained the system to me, I was met with a Gallic shrug.
On the second visit on 2nd-3rd.September, the electric socket was stuck to the wall with sticky tape, there was no soap in the dispenser which was broken and there was a two hour power cut that also cut out the television. When I informed the desk in the morning again I was given no apology and given the impression that this was par for the course. All in all, not a pleasant experience. I would not wish to spend another night in this hotel.

Perfect for a 'passing through' stopover

Cheap and cheerful. Perfect for just a 'passing through' place to stop. The room and bathroom was very clean although the bed was a little hard #personal preference# and is fully air conditioned. The lady on reception was very pleasant and spoke good english. This hotel has secure parking so we were happy to leave roof box and fully loaded car. Breakfast is extra and is buffet style of which everything was fresh with a fair selection. There is also a MacDonalds and a couple of small cafe/bar type places within easy walking distance.

Perfect stop off

Great little bargain hotel if you need to stop off somewhere to break up your journey across France. Situated near the university there are various bars and restaurants within walking distance. Be warned though, they are all closed outside term time so if you need somewhere to eat your only remaining option will be McDonalds. Very easy to access the motorway from this hotel which is great.

Far from everything.

The lone bright spot was the friendliness of the staff. The walls were paper thin; you could hear everything in the hallway and the rooms next door. The bathroom was the size of one you'd find in a camper - tiny. The A/C didn't work and was worst than having a fan in the room. The breakfast (which you have to pay extra) consisted of coffee and breads; better to walk to the nearby McDonalds. The hotel was located on the opposite end of town from teh train station. We stayed in 13 different hotels, and this was by far our least favorite.

Let down by maintenance

I arrived with 2 small dogs. We were put into a room above the entrance which was a disabled-friendly room (lino floor & special toilet/shower). No problem BUT it was quite hot and the air conditioning did not work. I reported that to reception but was told they knew and it would be several days before it was fixed. No alternate room was offered. I had to open the window to let some air into the room, but there was a lot of noise from outside - people talking outside the entrance late at night, taxis coming and going and noise from the nearby busy road. I found it very uncomfortable (heat) and could not sleep until ater 1am due to the noise outside. Also noise from other rooms was an issue. I have cancelled my future booking.

The hotel was visible from the main road, but it wasn’t straight forward to get to it. We knew from other guests’ feedback that it might be a hassle checking in after 21:00 with no reception and it was a bit as we arrived after 21:00 and touch screen of self check in at the gate did not work. We had to phone the local number and then someone (receptionist on night duty) checked us in. The room was very small and awkwardly shaped, but clean. We couldn’t use the high-sleeper bed for our 2 year old as it was too high. We didn’t hear much from the outside but it was rather noisy inside, we could hear next door guests and cleaner in the morning, who actually did get uninvited into our room waking us up. Otherwise it was a good night stay, but another Premiere Classe hotel gave us an even more pleasant experience.

The hotel is on the outskirts of the town but its on a main tram route and near the motorway. Its quiet and has secure parking (it has an automatic barrier). The rooms are small but clean and neat and tidy. It is a newish building and so everything is in good order. It is exceptional value.

Price is cheap,,that's the only reason to accept such room. Very small room. Only good if u look for a bed to sleep and not stay in room for long. I was surprised they do not provide water boiler for customer, i.e. no hot water to drink (thanks to the staff giving us a jar of hot water at night)

Premiere Classe Hotel Le Mans - overnight stop

Convenient stopover en route to Cherbourg from the Charente. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Rooms weren't carpeted and potential slipping issues as high step from bathroom to room level. Problems checking in as arrived after 9pm and the automatic check in wouldn't work - after rousing a hotel worker we got in but the two rooms we'd booked for a family of 5 were two floors apart. The area was fairly lifeless but a 5 min drive away was the centre of Le Mans. Would definitely recommend if just need a room for the night. Breakfast was optional, we didn't have but it smelled good!

Hôtel Première Classe Le Mans overnight

Perfect stopover en route to the Dordogne. Very clean room and en suite bathroom, helpful staff, hotel easy to find and close to start of onward journey. Good buffet breakfast, very reasonably priced, gave us a good start to the next leg of our trip. I highly recommend this hotel for overnighting - also - they lock the car park at night which is very helpful.

Stayed for 1 night enroute to Vendee and it was perfect. Cheap, only a short detour from motorway, really clean, free wifi and friendly staff. Also good value breakfast available too. There are also a few restaurants and supermarkets nearby and a petrol station. Brilliant value.

The hotel was fairly easy to find and offered great access to central Le Mans. Our room had a comfortable bed and the heater/AC worked fantastically. The bathroom was an odd shape. We had a hard time not getting water everywhere in the shower. The only downside was no hair dryer in the room or available in the hotel. It was easy to get to from the main highways (from Caen/Normandy). Very easy to get into the main part of town for all the attractions and restaurants. Fairly easy to get back to since it is near the university (lots of directional signs!).

pas de serviettes dans la chambre finalement attribuée,
donc 2 allez-retour à la réception !
chambre froide à l'arrivée, et présence d'un radiateur d'appoint (!) que j'ai mis en route, mais qui n'a pas fonctionné toute la nuit.
Pour finir je suis parti à 5h40 du matin, et le portail du parking ne s'ouvre pas automatiquement, et pas de commande d'ouverture; j'ai dû retourné à la réception récupérer la clef badge pour ouvrir .

Je n' ai rien contre le personnel, c'est l'hygiène et la logistique.
Le soucis majeur c'est présence de punaise de lit.
Pas de chauffage il faut leur demander un chauffage d'appoint.
Manque toujours les serviettes.
Mais c'est les punaise de lit démangeaisons et se gratter la nuit à été le plus désagréable.

Chambre au RDC dépourvue de rideaux et donnant sur le parking et ses éclairages blanchâtres.

SDB minuscule dont on ne peut pas sortir dévêtu à cause de la fenêtre sans rideaux sauf si on accepte d'évoluer dans la pénombre.
Long moment de solitude dans cet endroit qui m'a fait méditer sur la nécessité de m'y prendre plus tôt lorsque je réserve un hôtel afin d'avoir le choix pour ne pas finir dans un trou pareil.

Pas de serviettes dans la chambre, lavabo bouché, seuil de salle de bain décollé et coupant, n avons pas pu ouvrir la fenetre, araignees et toiles suspendues a l extérieur, porte de chambre ferme mal, hotel tres bruyant a l'intérieur, petit déjeuner : stock mal géré, personnel incompétent. Mauvaise expérience pour une première, bon on a pas eu une chambre communicante comme demandé car elle n’était pas faite. Ensuite l’une des chambre qu’on nous a attribué la porte était bloquée, puis qu’une serviette de toilette pour 3.

Retour de vacances, deuxième passage dans l'hôtel. La première fois frigo ne fonctionnait pas mais l'accueil a bien voulu nous garder nos sandwichs au frais, pas de serviettes et rouleau papier toilette presque fini. L'accueil nous a donné les serviettes. Deuxième passage, le frigo fonctionne mais tjs pas de serviettes alors qu'en arrivant on nous dit que la chambre n'est pas prête. Idem pour le papier toilette, pas de savon dans la recharge savon de SDB, la propreté laisse à vraiment à désirer même les plateaux du petit déjeuner sont sales! la douche est cassé...

Établissement qui vous prend pour des pigeons, prix exorbitant sur un week end de grand prix, ils savent qu’ils vont remplir donc autant se moquer des clients ! On laisse une nouvelle personne gérer l’accueil seule sur un vendredi avec autant d’influence (personne très sympathique en revanche) Même une chambre d’hôpital est plus accueillante, porte coulissante cassée pour l’accès à la salle de bain, rouille à certains endroits, même pas d’oreillers mais des cousins, pas de serviettes au départ, une alarme incendie qui se déclenche par inadvertance à 4h30 du matin et qu’on met un long moment à éteindre, le pompon ! Je suis habituée à dormir à l’hôtel mais là je peux lui attribuer la note du pire établissement où j’ai dormi !

Porte bloquée...piles usées...

Gros probleme avant de quitter...j'ai installe la valise dans la voiture et suis remontée à la chambre rechercher mon sac comprenant mes medicaments...carastrophe impossible d'ouvrir la porte de la chambre avec ma carte magnétique...idem pour la femme de chambre et la receptionniste.....Qui m'a dit esperons que l'on pourra quand même l,'ouvrir....Elle a utilisé un ordinateur et a fait des recherches...toujours impossible...la porte restait bloquée...finallement a t elle dit...-esperons que ce soit un probleme de piles\"ET NOUS VOICI A NOUVEAU DEVANT MA 0ORTE DE CHAMBRE...avec l'ordinateur et un cable USB pour connecter la porte en otant un cache en plastic...apres le remplacement des piles ...LA PORTE a pu s,'ouvrir...cela a pris plus d'une heure et a donc retardé mon depart.Aucune clé traditionnelle pour ouvrir la porte en cas de probleme dans cet hôtel.Pourquoi ne verifient ils pas l'état des piles dans ces conditions???J'ai remercié l'employée qui etait seule...stressee et avait reussi a me dépanner

Todo muy bien, hacia frío y la calefacción de la habitación no funcionaba pero nos han dado un calefactor enorme que con 5 minutos encendido se estaba de maravilla. La chica de recepción muy agradable

Un rapport qualité prix très correct

Hôtel climatisé très agréable propre et semble très bien entretenu, avec fauteuils en extérieur sur pelouse au calme très appréciable . Gérante très accueillante. Très bonne isolation phonique de la route, ns n'avons pas non plus entendu les voisins de chambre. Le bémol serait sur la literie, oreillers en béton. les panneaux en stratifié autour du lit méritent un nettoyage, de nombreuses traces. Le gros rouleau de papier posé sous le lavabo à côté du dérouleur qui ne peut le recevoir, je ne trouve pas cela hygiénique. C'est personnel, mais je n'ai pas confiance en l'état de propreté des couvres lits qui servent de couette.

Les + :

- Bonne literie
- Situé en zone calme et facilement accessible
- Parking sécurisé

Les - :

- Climatisation non fonctionnelle
- Bruit d'écoulement d'eau des WC constant et audible dans la chambre
- bâtiment ancien, et ça se ressent
- Seulement des serviettes fournies

Conclusion :

- Rapport qualité / prix (140€ la nuit) bien en deça des concurrents
- A réserver seulement pour de grands évènements lorsque les réservations sont à flux tendus
