There are building works in progress, to get to to our room we had to navigate a staircase without automatic lights and couldn't find the switch, we ended up on the building site.
We finally found our room, the corridor had no fire escape door!
The door was locked and a sheet of wood was nailed onto it ! We didn't need an alarm in the morning as the building noise was the alarm. I think this is a perfect example of money before customers!

Great Hotel for Short or Longer Stays

We arrived late, but received a very warm welcome from the gentleman covering the front desk overnight. He checked us in quickly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and had everything you need. Would highly recommend staying here.

Fantastic place to stay, right in the heart of the city. Only a few miles from the Le Mans 24 hr race track, and museum. The Golf 24 hr Course is only a little way. Many eating places close by, I do recommend the hotel's. Very large menu with numerous eating items for any individual.

location was convenient although somewhat noisy location so heard alot of traffic noise. the room as a standard room was very small which I was very disappointed in Mercure and would consider elsewhere if a deal comes up on a Mercure hotel. the menu choice for dinner was also very disappointing and if i was on a business trip would struggle to find something to eat hence why we travelled outside for a meal. there were not enough chairs to sit outsideon the terrace as a whole group of belgians and french took the area over after a possible trip on a race track so was forced to sit inside for an after dinner drink. these were also very expensive for the size of a Kir!

Perfect for the race track, rooms fairly small but serve their purpose. tiny bathroom, but shower fine.
one nice thing is the breakfast, its a good breakfast I love squeezing my own orange juice, fresh croissants and continental items, and a few cooked things too.
Evening menu a bit limited but the starter Ceasar salad is good, and I had a delicious swordfish steak one night. Outside terrace really nice, all in all, it met our needs and is better than most in the area.

Excellent hotel for a one night stay. We had a standard room which whilst being rather small was adequate for just one night. The room backed on to a timber merchants yard - luckily we stayed on a Saturday night - might be a bit noisy any other day of the week.
Very clean,modern hotel.

Lovely Hotel, beautiful setting.

We had a lovely overnight stay with our dog, this was one of the most pet friendly hotels we have come across as our pet was allowed in all areas of the hotel, lots of grass surrounding the hotel which made dog walking so much easier, the room was lovely had all facilities that we required, e.g. extra pillows, ability to convert some tv programmes to English. Will definitely use this hotel again.

If you are at the race track, this is a great option. Really comfy bed, decent room and clean everywhere. The breakfast is excellent. Dinner was nice too, a little under staffed at dinner, the one waiter had to do everything. Nice outside area. Please put music on during meals though!! It was lacking atmosphere!

Good, but not a typical Mercure.

Nice, refurbished, modern hotel with clean, small rooms. However, this is NOT a 4 star Mercure Hotel, despite the name and lacks the typical Mercure comforts, more like an IBIS Styles. Great breakfast, but expensive restaurant for what you get, but good quality. Helpful staff, free WiFi and parking.

Le Mans was our stop off point on our journey from Blackpool to Duras near Bordeaux. We chose this hotel based on a personal recommendation and we weren't disappointed. It was perfect for our needs. Nicely appointed, very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. No problems at all and the big plus for us was that the hotel was pet friendly and there is free wifi. Bonus.

Difficult access without detailed directions which should be issued after booking. Situated in area that is a little run-down. Ample and easy parking. Good external lighting (except bollard at entrance to site).
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Waiter would be benefit with training in English.
Should be easy to get around Le Mans once one masters the road system, particularly the extensive 1-way system.

Stayed here as stopover. The hotel is on the outskirts of Le Mans so it feels quite isolated. It's a very generic business hotel. We were given a room with an \"Italian shower\" as the receptionist called it. That translates as wheelchair friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and the sheets felt scratchy and cheap.

Nice hotel, shame about the club sandwich

On the whole positive when compared with other Accor chain hotels. How've, you need to know Le Man's to find it easily.

The stay was however rather spoiled by the virtually inedible food that I was served in the restaurant. The bread in the club sandwich was stale, the chicken filling was the cheapest supermarket meat, the sandwich was soggy because of the mass of poor quality coleslaw. It was disgusting and the chips/fries that were supposed to accompany it never materialised. That said, my partner's meal was very nice.

Just avoid the club sandwiches, you can buy similar in the nearby supermarket for 1/3 of the excssive €12 plus that I was charged for it.

We stayed there for one night on our way to Calais. We were going to have a early start the next day. Unfortunately we were in the first room in the extra extension and every time someone came or left the building the door would slam and we could hear and feel the vibrations,so didn't get a good nights sleep as people were arriving all through the night.
If we were to stay there again i would make sure we were not near that doorway.

Great stop over

We spent one night at this hotel on our way to Paris. Location was convenient with ample free parking. After a day of sightseeing and driving it was great to have a very comfortable room and a restuarant on site. The meal was excellant and well presented. Breakfast was also very good and quite reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Le Mans is also a very interesting place to visit. Top marks all around.

We stayed for one night in this spotlessly clean and welcoming hotel. We were en route to Bordeaux from Cherbourg but rather than this being simply a stopover it became part of our holiday. This hotel was easy to find as it's on the outskirts of Le Mans. And continuing our journey south the following morning was really easy as well.

It was very hot [30+] and the air con was brilliant.

30 minute walk into the city centre was good as well.

Staff were understanding and courteous, the breakfast was most enjoyable. Would have no hesitation in using this hotel again.

Wonderful stopover hotel

My wife and I and 2 dogs used this as a stopover on our way from Limousin to Calais. Everything in the hotel was like new and the staff, who spoke english, could not have been more helpful. The room was excellent, if a little small, and the retaurant meal in the evening was faultless. Dogs are allowed in the retaurant which was a big plus for us. We also took the advice of a previous reviewer of this hotel and visited Le Mans old town. It was lovely and something worth doing even on a stopover.

Smelled so bad we had to leave.

We had stayed at another location of this hotel chain in the south of France. It was stylish, clean, offered a good value for your money and had a very friendly staff. We were beyond shocked at the condition of this hotel in Le Mans. It was run down, filthy, and I had to keep interrupting the staff from their cigarette breaks outside to help us at the front desk. This hotel claims to be smoke-free but it is clearly not. There were cigarette burns in the carpet, on the bed frame, the walls had nicotine stains and the window opened all the way so people could still smoke in their \"non-smoking rooms\". The smell was so intense my husband and I both got instant headaches and sinus pain. When I asked to see another room, I looked at 4 others and they were just as bad. The staff said I must be allergic to their cleaners and offered us headache medicine. Sadly this hotel is run-down and pasting a placard with the non-smoking sign everywhere on a hotel that has been a smoking hotel for years prior does not satisfy the definition. We left and are seeking a refund.

This hotel isa good stop-over, at a fair price. Quality of hotel environment is high, there is easy on-site free parking and the service is pretty good, too.
Downside...? Extremely limited weekend dinner menu and pricing for what was available was not great value for money.

Quite difficult to find the hotel, as it is on a complicated set of road junctions; coming south one needs to double back at a confusing junction to get there.
Pleasant gardens surround the hotel and even though there are busy roads nearby it is still quite quiet.
The rooms have everything that one expects these days. The furniture is quite traditional in style, which makes a change from the 'identikit' style of most hotels.
The restaurant provided an excellent dinner ...to be honest one of the best meals we have ever had in France. Service was efficient and staff very pleasant. Breakfast was self-service and there was a good range of items, including a cooked breakfast if desired.

Stayed here one night travelling back from Spain and wanted to see Le Mans. Very nice hotel, clean and tidy - helpful friendly staff. Nice little terrace outside and hotel not too far a drive from Le Mans centre and also the racetrack. Limited choice of menu in the restaurant at weekends and there is nowhere else to go if you arrive late as we did - but meal OK anyway. Only one disappointment - racetrack was closed to public due to practice for the 24 hour race so we could not get in to see although the museum is worth a visit!

Mercure hotel. Le Mans. 3mi from 'centre ville'

Would recommend hotel. Rooms aren't the biggest but very modern looking. Bed was very large and bathroom was modern and incredibly clean. Only criticism of bedroom was that there was no aircon. Very warm in the middle of August! Reception staff extremely helpful and spoke good English. We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first night, we found the food very good but perhaps a little bit pricey.

Breakfast buffet really good. Big selection of either continental breakfast or full English (to a fashion) served until 10 I believe.

Situated about 2mins drive from supermarket/petrol station and about 5mins drive to Le Mans town centre and 5mins from the 24h track.

Maids very efficient, seemed to know when we were at breakfast and made the beds and changed towels every day.

Reception staff very good at giving directions to all the places we visited. They take the time to highlight things on the map for you. Take a 30min drive to La Fleche where you will find a really good zoo!

Would happily go again!

Dans la chambre ça se gâte... Je rappel que je souhaite séjourner dans un 4 étoiles !
Je pense à un Ibis rouge tellement la chambre est sommaire. le rideau est d'époque et tout fripé. Peu de place pour ma valise. La salle de bain ne me permet pas d'entrer dans ma douche sans fermer la porte. Elle est tellement petite que la prise pour le rasoir est à côté du toilette. Le plateau de courtoisie ne propose que du café soluble et du thé, il eu été correct de proposer une machine avec du vrai café. Enfin, la télévision est juste acceptable en taille. 150€ la nuitée, le groupe Accor se moque un peu là non ?

Bon petit week-end en famille , chambre spacieuse et très agréable.
Petit bémol : la température de la piscine un peu fraîche et le rapport qualité prix du restaurant.

Je recommande tout de même .

sympa pour WE en famille.

Personnel au petit soin, chambre neuve, piscine intérieure idéale pour les enfants avec brassards et bouées à dispo, aucun bruit la nuit.
Franchement rien à dire, la literie était un peu dure par rapport à nos habitudes mais ça arrive quand on dors sur une literie neuve.
