Our stay was absolute perfection. The staff was wonderfully attentive, and the location couldn’t have been better for us. Just a 25-minute drive to Oia, we were close enough to explore but far enough to escape the crowds—plus we had breathtaking views and warm hospitality right where we were.

We did the morning hike to avoid the heat, which was such a memorable experience. Breakfast was outstanding—truly sensational—and every WhatsApp request we sent was answered quickly. The staff also arranged drivers who arrived right on time. (Tip: if you’re traveling during “rush hour” to a popular spot, it’s worth booking a bit ahead.)

Our cave room was a dream, complete with a balcony overlooking the ocean. We loved relaxing on the deck every morning. There was even a small walk-in closet where we could tuck our luggage out of the way, and a little table inside that made a perfect spot for working or unwinding.

One of the best experiences you can have

This is by far the best hotel experience me and my wife have ever had. Everyone was hospitable, showed care and overall constantly made sure we had a unique good experience. The reception always treated us right and even made sure we had breakfast to go in the next morning due to our early flight. Kosta went above and beyond helping us out in the morning as well!

This was not of the standard of leading hotels. The paint on the walls was cracked; the shower floor needed work; the water pressure needs work. . The room was well kept; the breakfast was very good. The steps were problematic-not the number but the steepness and unevenness made going from one level to another very difficult

I travel the world with my family, usually to the tops hotels as possible. I have never being treated as good as royalty before. Top top top customer service. The staff from the reception, de concierge, the bellboys etc are like far far trained and has a great customer service vocation. Impressive stat. The rooms are huge and seems like new, the smell of the rooms is great. The only thing I’ll rate around 7/10 is the food and the speed of service in the restaurant maybe 7/10. That’s the only thing I didn’t love. Thanks for a wonderful vacation memories you helped to experience.

This review is actually for Katikies Santorini in Oia where we were switched to by the Katikies group because of some unfinished renovations at the Chromata hotel. Because of the change our room was upgraded to Superior accommodation free of charge! Our stay was between May 3-10 to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and all I can say is that the experience was amazing! The hotel was immaculate. We had our own private terrace with easy chairs and umbrella. Our room and the hotel itself was very clean and the staff totally attentive to our needs. The views from our room were breathtaking and we ate the varied and delicious 5-star quality breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea and islands. The hotel added so many nice touches to our stay. On arrival we found a bottle of wine and treats in our room. It was Greek Orthodox Easter so we also received an Easter basket with goodies. The hotel is situated at the start of the pedestrian-only road where the shops and excellent restaurants are located so everything was within walking distance. Despite being in the town center the hotel was very quiet (there were many tourists and cruise ship visitors but apparently not as many as in the peak summer season). During our stay we visited Fira (a 20 min, 4 EUR return trip) which has a great museum; took a sunset boat trip around the island and made the must-do 10 km hike along the coast between Oia and Fira. The sunsets were spectacular. Our best vacation experience!

A beautiful oasis of calm in a sea of people. Imerovigli is an amazing area to stay in Santorini, and the Katikies Chromata is absolutely perfect. The view is take your breath away, the rooms perfect, the staff very helpful, the restaurant spectacular. We left early mornings to explore and discover Santorini in peace and cool, returning to the hotel for the heat of the day to relax and enjoy the hotel’s gorgeous amenities. A true 5 star experience

We booked this hotel while frantically dealing w a terrible hotel in Santorini. While it was more than double in price, it was all well worth it to experience the beauty that the island has to offer. Our room was perfect and the views of the caldera breathtaking. Our concierge Mary helped us plan our days and booked lunches and transfer to other parts of the island—she and the entire staff made our stay wonderful!

Great rooms, staff, food and of course...views.

This is a special luxury property with a great staff, amazing breakfast and of course great views. The village of Imerovigli is one of the highest points along the rim of the crater and offers great sunset views from the northern edge of the village (a five minute walk from the hotel). It is centrally located and doesn't suffer from the hordes of sunset crowds of Oia and cruise ship crowds in Fira (a 20 minute walk). Most rooms are in caves, which sounds dreary but their large size, the architecture's soft forms, white walls and flooring and very thoughtful lighting create a welcoming feel and the quiet gave me the best sleep of any hotel on our trip. Many of the rooms (including ours) don't have private terraces so guests and staff pass by, just like in a hillside village, but people are focused on the steps and not you. If you really want privacy on your terrace check with the hotel. The hotel's Chroma restaurant is quiet, romantic and serves great food. Our server studied wines and provided a mini-lesson in the different wines of Santorini (worth trying many!)

We had a few gripes on or after arrival. No late night room service, the cold water not being cool enough for a face-wash, housekeeping overlapping with room service in a way that was a bit of a mystery. And perhaps the most stridently ridiculous: blaming the concierge for sending us to a (wonderful) restaurant because the path included a cobbled segment that made walking difficult in D&G heels.

All of these complaints were unjustified. All my/our fault, caused perhaps by the shock of actually trying to relax for the first time in a Covid-stewed year.

Undeterred, the manager, concierge and head of housekeeping responded magnificently. The bathroom water was always cool but not chilled as there is no underground water supply on Santorini. Would I like lots of ice? No less than 3 housekeepers attended our room (Room 24, private pool, highly recommended for private, villa-like feel) many times per day until we could barely step out of our swimming costumes before they were folded away.

The lack of late night room service our first night was more than compensated by the manager offering us a complimentary dinner at the Chromata restaurant. Including cocktails and wine. Very classy, no fuss.

The Chromata is the hotel you see on a lot of instagrams of Santorini. Tourists queue for selfies on the vertiginous white steps backed with an azure vista of the Caldera. I won’t forget that view but nor will I forget the absolute excellence of the management and staff here.

The staff here are so nice and friendly. The restaurant has delicious food. The only negative is that we had a hot tub in our room and it didn't really work....it didn't get very hot and blew our electric fuse everytime we used it. I'd definitely stay here again just get a room with out a hot tub.

Big disappointment

Hotel has very poor limited facilities, rooms are not comfortable (caves...) and there is no privacy at all unless you close your only window and avoid using your ‘balcony’. LOT of stairs to climb back & forward (no lifts), only very nice and unique view + view and more view. Sorry but no need to stay their for the view- just step in as many other tourists do - take your pictures, disturb the guests and move on to the next attraction

Rough check in that seemed to be a theme. Rooms are all very different and it caused a bit of consternation. The place is very clean, the views are large and strong. Be ready for steps and more steps. Not an issue for us but could be for some. Staff was super great. Helpful and friendly. Worked hard to please and shared good conversation with many. A bit out of town which made it a bit quite. We enjoyed that. Food at the hotel was of high quality. We enjoyed the sushi bar more than once. They only served high quality fish so the menu changed with availability. I view that positively. Small pool but lounge chairs set up in three locations at the hotel. Overall nice place.

The Chromata is a beautiful, quintessential Santorini hotel that’s conveniently located in Imerovigli (just north of the capital Fira, and about 20 minutes from Oia). White cave houses are the accommodation and feels very luxurious. We stayed in the most basic, double room. Room was small but we spent most of our time at the gorgeous infinity pool or exploring the nearby villages. Staff members were extremely attentive. We also utilized the concierge to book sailing excursion and airport transportation, which was very convenient. Everything was quite expensive, but relative to other Santorini luxury hotels, the Chromata provided the best value.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the Chromata and we were simply blown away by the amazing view, amenities and staff service. This is definitely 5 star experience at its finest. The breakfast was likely the best we ever had - compliments to the chef for beautiful presentation and very delicious food. We booked the standard room and it had a balcony with a sweeping caldera view, tables and chairs where we could enjoy a quiet drink. Also, there were many sitting/lounging areas throughout where we could unwind and enjoy the view and each felt very private. The location was also a beautiful walk to the more touristy central area, down a pedestrian path with views along the way. We also spent our final night in the honeymoon suite- AMAZING! Thank you to the excellent staff at the Chromata for making our stay so memorable!

I was bitten by the Santorinian bug many years ago. The natural beauty of the island never ceases to amaze me, however after having stayed at Chromata Hotel, I am now even more in love with this incredible island. I have never met such polite, friendly, helpful, group of young hotel professionals. The staff at Chromata Hotel left me speechless with their great care and attention to detail. Every request was completed with such great efficiency and politeness that I was made to feel 'special'. Combine this priceless service with beautifully designed rooms/hotel facilities and the most spectacular views of The Caldera and the Aegean Sea, you have the perfect hotel experience. we stayed for 4 nights, it seemed not enough words to describe the state of this hotel other than it is exceptional.
ranging from staff staff, customer service, room cleaners, nice breakfast, nice dinner, large room with very complete toiletries. the location of the hotel overlooks the caldera, so from the lobby the rooms can be relaxed sitting looking at the scenery of caldera, cliffs and the house's remarkable house.
the location of the hotel right on the roadside and in front of the hotel there is a shuttle bus that will take us to all places disantorini at a price of only 0.8 euros.
free wifi.
then we suggest if you you are on vacation to santorini then this chromata hotel is one of the best and the right, do not just choose the cheap but its location inside and difficult, because santorini location contour up and down so it is tiring if bring luggage for the origin search its cheap.

When we get to and get off the car, we plan to help staff carry the suitcase, but the hotel staff said that was so memorable to us is: this adalkah our duty to serve you, you just enjoy the holidays.

Hotel definitely worth all its stars! There’s so much good to say but I will summarise. From breathtaking views, to the amazingly attentive staff, the hotel room space was so homely and comfortable but big, also the breakfast was great every morning and the Chromata cocktails were a treat. So many positives for this hotel, a must stay when in Santorini, based in Imerovigli it’s in the perfect location if you don’t want too much hustle and bustle. Whatever I write in this review won’t make justice to describe how great this hotel is. Santorini is an incredible place and this hotel makes it even better, if that is possible. It is like paradise inside paradise. Not only the hotel is beautiful and the views are breathtaking but the staff is the most friendly and professional. The all white rooms are beautiful, very well appointed, comfortable and very quiet. The views of the caldera from the terraces are simply spectacular. Breakfast is a varied delicious buffet in an open room by the infinity pool or you can choose to have it in your room or terrace, but I would recommend to go to the breakfast room because the buffet is very good and the staff are some of the nicest people (Special thanks to George and Nasia for been so friendly and make every breakfast such a great experience).
Thanks to everyone for making this one of my best birthday trips ever. Special thanks to the hotel manager Antonis, who is always smiling, is so good at making guests feel welcomed and gave us an upgrade when he found out it was my birthday, also thanks to front desk Irini, concierge Kostas, as I mentioned before George and Nasia at the breakfast room and of course to all the rest of the smiley and friendly crew. We stayed for 5 nights in October.

Upon arrival the welcome from the staff was so warm and friendly, and this lasted throughout the stay until the moment we checked out. Everyone was so pleasant and genuinely friendly, which was a big factor in making our stay so wonderful. Some hotels have superficially friendly staff, but the staff at Chromata were all genuine, and incredibly helpful. They made us feel welcome, and made us laugh. Good people!

The hotel itself is stunning, the first time we saw the view over the Caldera will stay with us forever. There is something hypnotic and incredibly calming about watching the cruise ships and fishing boats sailing far below.

The room was immaculate and well equipped. Bed was incredibly comfortable.

The food was incredible too. Fine dining of an evening, and the breakfast was first class too.

We were here this time celebrating our engagement, and we are pretty sure we will be honeymooning at the Chromata next year, as it was so good.

This hotel is a gem! From the moment we were greeted at reception, we knew that we were in for a great stay. The service at the hotel is exceptional and certainly at a five star level. The breakfast was fantastic and the view from the pool was stunning. Get in early if you want a sun-bed next to the pool! The location was also lovely being on the cliff face and surrounded by great restaurants.

Location good. Paid a fortune a night for a room with no character or ambiance. Very disappointing. Breakfast was good. Maid/Turn down service could be improved. We complained about turn down service, manager told us we were given when we were not. Hotel manager very rude and needs an etiquette class. Bathroom hot tub didn't work. Privacy is non existent on room terrace. Not enough chairs at the pool. Hotel needs to be improved because 5 star status/$$$$$ a night isn't deserving. Cheaper hotels with same view are everywhere. We paid a fortune thinking that this hotel would be fantastic. It was a disappointment.

Fit our needs exactly as we would have wanted

We loved this hotel for a few reasons -

1) the service was incredibly attentive at all times, but not intrusive. In our group's opinion, customer service in Greece, even at nice/expensive places was spotty at best - but that wasn't the case at the Chromata. In particular, the hotel's general manager, John, was super helpful.

2) we prefer to be in a walkable location that has access to various restaurants, etc., but not totally in the middle of the mix. Given the crowds in Oia and Fira, this was perfect for us as there were plenty of delicious eating options nearby.

3) we found the room we had both spacious and very comfortable.

4) we appreciated the hot breakfast items that we could order a la carte in the included breakfast - as we were disappointed with other hotel breakfasts in Greece that only had a continental spread. It was so nice to be able to get eggs!

we loved it here

we stayed here during our honeymoon and all of the hotel staff was very nice, friendly and caring. the room was very clean, view was spectacular and breakfast was delicious. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience for us. Would love to come back again.

The perfect Santorini stay

Perched on the top of the caldera of Imerovigli, Chromata Hotel is simply a stunning boutique hotel with has everything and more of whatever you may need, not mentioning the incredible view of course! The rooms were ridiculously clean, the staff incredibly attentive and informative but calmly out of sight until needed, and the overall ambiance of the hotel was one of pure calm and retreat. Under the recommendation of the hugely knowledgeable staff, they recommended wonderfully authentic tavernas and local shops away from the standard tourist traps and imported luxury brands towards places that quietly gave you a hint at the true soul of the island. Plus, any excursions you are planning, allow the concierge to do it for you as they will have the latest and most accurate information and reviews. I cannot recommend this wonderful place strongly enough and would urge anyone to look here first.

Excellent and accommodating hotel staff

Cannot recommend this place enough. The overall facility is very clean, well-maintained and easy to navigate. Location is also good - about 15 min walk from Fira, so the area is relatively quiet, and all rooms have a good view of the caldera. It is also close to some good restaurants in the area. The hotel restaurant was good - I had lunch and evening drinks here. But what impressed me the most was the hospitality and how accommodating the staff were. They were quick to arrange things from taxi to cruise, and made navigating in Santorini so easy.

GREAT HOTEL IN SANTORINI!!!

My experience at the Chromata Up Style Hotel in Santaorini was truly one of a kind. John, the assistant manager was amazing! He was so helpful with everything ranging from what to do and where to go to anything else we had concerns about. Alexandria the concierge was able to arrange many different things for us to do. The front desk people, specifically Tatiana and Kostas were so helpful and even provide guests with a cell phone to contact them at anytime. The staff at Chromata were very courteous and go out of their way to make your stay as amazing. The breakfast in the morning is a great way to start the day and you can order anything on their menu without restrictions. The view from every room is breathtaking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would give 5 stars!

Fabulous Boutique Hotel

A belated review of the Chromata hotel, having returned on Sunday, I’ve finally got over/used to the blues of returning to normal life and can bring myself to write about what seems like a distant memory!

The previous positive reviews pretty much capture the essence of what is simply a fantastic boutique hotel (26 rooms) in one of the best locations on Santorini – Having never been before, I was apprehensive around getting the hotel/locale spot on; Imerovigli and more specifically the Chromata proved to be perfectly situated just north of Fira and 20 minutes from Oia, a quiet location, but within walking distance of anything you could need or rent a quad bike from right outside to get to anything you’d want to see/do.

We were lucky enough to stay in two rooms, due to a surprise upgrade on our second day and both were faultless, incredible sea views over the caldera, volcanic island and sea beyond.

From arrival to departure, all the staff could not do enough to ensure our stay was a truly memorable experience.

This is a true bucket list hotel, the breakfast was expansive and great quality, the Cocktails, although not cheap, were well made and fresh sushi was impeccably made to order. I did note have dinner at the hotel but heard good things.

John (asst. Manager) and Evaggelos (Manager) were the perfect hosts, and have got the balance of informal/attentive/discreet/professionalism down to a tee.

Absolutely perfect!

An hotel where its manager comes to receive you, gives a welcome and also have a seat with you to share a coffee while your room is ready, so he can brief you about all you can do in the island...is much more than I booked!!! We really felt like home because all the kindness and class of the whole staff. Certainly our forever hotel in Santorini! 11/10!

We were celebrating our anniversary and they kindly offered us a free upgrade as they had a room available. The room had a private balcony and the view from the room was beyond amazing. We are still dreaming about it! The service were also top-notch, everyone from the front desk, the bellman, to the housekeepers were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Needless to say, we had a wonderful stay at this property. It met all of our expectations and definitely made our vacation in Santorini a memorable one that we will never forget. We will happily refer this hotel and definitely will stay here again!

Amazing views in the best area of Santorini

We loved our stay at Chromata hotel, the service was great and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The views from the room and shared areas were amazing. The breakfast was the best we've had and they allow you to have it either at the restaurant or on the balcony of your room. The area where the hotel is was our favourite area in Santorini and it wasn't too busy (like some of the other towns) and it was close enough to stroll to other towns to explore. the only negative thing about our stay was that the cave like rooms were a bit too low for my husband so he kept bumping his head and the shower design meant that water would leak into the bathroom. We would not hesitate to stay again at Chromata Hotel!

I had an absolutely amazing stay at the Chromata Hotel! First of all my wife and I were upgraded upon check in to the most amazing room ever and that started an incredible vacation for us! The staff was always very accommodating and I can't thank Chromata enough for such an amazing stay!

Fantastic luxury hotel clinging to the side of the cliff looking out at a superb view of the crater. Wonderful service from very friendly staff. Concierge were wonderful with car rental and restaurant bookings. Our room #23 was just what we wanted - a suite with a beautiful terrace plunge pool for 4 people. Go for the outside jacuzzi, definitely not the indoor one. Breakfasts were absolutely superb. No need for lunch!

Chromata-- our new favorite hotel!!

We have been fortunate to travel to a number of foreign countries on different continents. It is often a challenge to find a hotel that lives up to its description contained online and even some traveler reviews seem overrated. But Chromata was right on. This hotel surpassed all our expectations and we tend to be critical if service and accommodations are not up to par. If you're looking for a fabulous and ultimate getaway in the Greek Islands you need search no further. From the first moment that we arrived, we were awestruck by the unbelievable view of the Caldera oceanfront view that was directly off the cliffs of the hotel. The location was perfectly situated between the town of Fira on the path toward Oia, with all the gorgeous scenery in between. The room was like brand-new, spotless and true to Greek modern architecture and design. The entire staff was unbelievable and the whole hotel was run in an extremely professional way. Chromata is truly an ultimate vacation. It is everything a great hotel ought to be. We could not recommend it highly enough. It is no exaggeration to say that we would rate it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5. We can't wait to return. Bravo Chromata!

Fantastic and one of the best!

Received a complimentary upgrade, which was perfect for our honeymoon. Our airline left our luggage in our port of departure when we arrived in Santorini. As soon as the hotel staff knew, they followed this up until the next day when the luggages arrived. Very friendly, helpful and considerate staff. One of the best in the industry. Will definitely consider staying here again if we return to Santorini.

We spent a portion of our honeymoon in Santorini at the chromata hotel. Everything was excellent. The service was amazing and top notch. The hotel restaurant is good and the daily breakfast was legit. I highly recommend and I would stay there again with no hesitation.

This hotel has AMAZING views. It was like waking up to a postcard every morning. The staff was great and we loved that Imerovigli was quieter than Fira and Oia but not too far away from those places as well.
