Comfortable, clean apartment in a beautiful historical building.
There is public transport a five-minute walk away, which takes you in to the city centre within 15 mins or so. It’s also about 10-12 mins by bus to the main train station.
The neighbourhood is safe and offers some great traditional restaurants nearby.
The hosts are very friendly and offer breakfast daily.

The hotel is in a great location with an excellent restaurant right on the corner that gives you discount if you staying at this B&B. The area is filled with locals, which makes your stay more delightful. The family that runs the place is absolutely amazing and will provide you with a real Italian experience. They make you feel like a part of the family. Transit is nearby and will give you access to all attractions in Rome. You won’t regret of lodging at La Breccia at Porta Pia. It is stated in the review that some rooms have an En Suite bathroom while others share, however it would be great if you are notified in advance which room you will get before you arrive.

That being said, we could not have asked for better hosts. Giuseppe and Veronica were amazing at making us feel welcome, and were more than willing to give excellent advice on where to go and what to do.

The room was clean and spacious, including heating and a safe, and the beds were very comfortable.

Most of all the location is great. Just outside the city centre itself to have some calm and quiet, yet still close enough to all amenities incl. transport, restaurants and shops/pharmacies.

I highly recommend La Breccia a Porta Pia to all visitors who fancy a visit to Rome and its wonders.

Staff is wonderful but shower is horrible

Veronica was great. She speaks English which really helped. The only major problem was the shower. It constantly overflowed and we had to have then fix it three times and we still had a problem. But every time I've gone to Rome it seems like they have a problem with showers or water not draining. They were very conscientious about it and it fixed it every time but it still made a mess. Other than that, the room was really nice and very quiet . When I look at this room I thought it was much closer to Termini station but you have to take a taxi to get to it. It's only €10 but it's a pain.

A good nights sleep at La Breccia A Porta Pia

This was a lovely place, large rooms and comfortable beds. Lots of character in a neighborhood with in walking distance to hop on hop off busses for sightseeing. Breakfast is served each morning and the owners are helpful with information and transportation services. Neighborhood is full of restaurants, stores and services. the host family of Veronica an her father and brother were so kind and caring. Before we arrived they told us the metro and bus lines to use. They recommended a place to eat on same street that was excellent and a short walk, plus 10% off our bill. The hotel was extremely clean, full of charm, well airconditioned. Price was very affordable. Felt safe and secure. Breakfast was at 8AM which was later than we needed to leave most days. Very simple breakfast the day we did use it with breads, toast, juice, coffee , tea.

Close to many attractions in Rome

Very welcoming family in a nice residential neighborhood. I walked the first day to The Fountain of Trevi, visted a catacomb by taxi then took bus 62 to Vatican City the second day. The bed was very comfortable and I felt safe like I was in an apartment that opened to a beautiful courtyard filled with trees. The shared bathroom was clean and available at all times. The air conditioner worked beautifully. There is a TV but because I am English speaking I did not watch it. Close by market for necessities and gelato and other restaurants close by. Very limited parking on the street so contact the property if you will have a car as I couldn't advise about parking.

I was surprised to find that Breccia Porta Pia was more of a small, family-owned Bed and Breakfast with a personal feel, than a large scale, corporate hotel. The facilities were extremely clean and cared for, in an attractive historic building. The staff was kind, helpful, and available at all times for any questions. The Breccia Porta Pia is in a quieter, residential area just a few metro or bus stops away from the main tourist destinations. We loved our stay here, and the more local surrounding area. We enjoyed our stay here as it was the first time for me in Italy.
David and Guiseppe ( Davids father) were fabulous....they both went way out of there way to assist us. .I had a very trying trip over from the US...flights delayed..i got in very late, my phone had died so communicating was difficult but I managed a way to E-mail and they responded right away . then they still met me at the hotel..My.luggage got lost and they helped me retrieve it( 2 days later)...My girlfriend was flying in later that night, they made another trip back to the hotel to let her in as i was passed out from being up 36 hours. They just really went above and beyond.Thanks guys you made a rough start to the trip better..

We spent 4 nights at La Breccia a Porta Pia, we have stayed in that area of Rome before but it was our first time at this B and B. Our room was a lovely suite with 2 rooms and 2 large windows, very roomy ! Breakfast was very filling with pastries, toast, cakes and meat, cheese and eggs, we were served coffee and tea.This area of Rome is fantastic for walking to all the major sites but has alot of great restaurants and shopping and has all the major bus routes right there. We very much enjoyed our stay !

What a wonderful, small family run hotel. Davide, Veronica and Guiseppe were so delightful to talk with and get to know. great breakfast each morning with coffee made to order. Excellent info about how to get to places in Rome. We arrived late due to a delayed flight, but Davide was waiting for us. He took us to our rooms, showed us how things operated and said, don't worry, we can do the paperwork in the morning, since he knew we were exhausted. Very much appreciated. Cant wait to return again.

Excellent location and for the price it is hard to beat .. you must be willing to share a bath with a person of either sex .. there are secure keys and everything is very quiet and it feels very safe .. it is an excellent neighborhood and the owners the father and the son could not be nicer or more helpful to make sure I understood how to get into the house and my room.. I have a problem getting to the room before 5 pm and still Davide was very gracious and kind to understand my problem.

A lovely B&B set within the second floor of an old palazzo just north of Porta Pia, around 20 minutes walk from the central Termini station. Luca makes his guests feel at home in his lovely property, which has high ceilings and grand shuttered windows. My room had a nice shared bathroom, and the buffet breakfast was good.

This is an excellent value. Be sure to contact the owners ahead of time, since they aren't likely at the B&B during the day. I was a bad guest and didn't call ahead of my arrival, but someone was able to get to me within about 30 minutes of contacting them. The rooms are spacious, and have a TV and A/C unit, and I found the bed to be exceptionally comfortable. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, pantry, sink, plates/cutlery, and an espresso/coffee machine as well as a selection of tea. The owner helps prepare a light breakfast of espresso/coffee, pastries, and toast (with a large bowl of Nutella packets available). There is one bathroom shared between the three guest rooms, and this contains a shower, sink, toilet and bidet. The location is a bit out of the way from the popular tourist spots, and this location is likely suited for business trips. There are few cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but there are a few supermarkets nearby; a Carrefour Express about 3 minutes walk, so groceries are readily available for you to prep meals at the B&B. The popular tourist spots (Spanish, Trevi, Pantheon) can be walked to within 30 minutes (Colosseum is about 45), or you can catch the bus or Metro from a nearby station, and you're anywhere within 20 minutes. The service provided by the owners was excellent. I also found the WiFi to be very fast.

If you want a Roman experience, this is a great place. The building had awesome local flavor. The building was well kept up, and even had a functional and vintage elevator--great for those with heavy suitcases. Our host Davide and his father were friendly and helpful, and did everything they could to ensure our comfort. It was such a treat to have espresso made for us to enjoy with our free breakfast--just steps from our room! We were walking distance to the metro and got around anywhere we wanted with ease. I highly recommend staying here.

We would definitely stay here again! Davide contacted us a week before arrival to introduce himself and help offer transportation from the airport, which we greatly appreciated. Giuseppe was very sweet and kind. We loved seeing him each morning for breakfast! He made us coffee and there was a nice array of breads, yogurts, and juices. The bed was comfortable, the rooms spacious. We liked the location because it was in a more residential area so it felt authentic Italian - there was a Metro stop and tram nearby. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. The only reason I gave a 4/5 for Facilities/Condition was because the showerhead needed fixed. Overall great B&B though! Definitely recommend.

Do not go here, find a better place

Do not go to this place. I very rarely give bad reviews but this place was very disappointing. Our room did not have a private washroom although when we bought the room it did not state this. There are two rooms that have one common washroom and they are also connected by a door; we could hear the person next door breathing and having coughing fits during the night. We complained but the next night, the tv was played all night long. Basically we could not sleep. Secondly, we did not have hot water. The water would be warm for about ten seconds and then cold, after 5 minutes we might get another 20 seconds of warm water. Basically, taking a shower was a pain and we gave up. Third: My husband forgot a pair of Sketchers shoes in the room and we emailed the owner and asked to go and retrieve the shoes. He ignored our email and kept the shoes. This was most disappointing and just shows dishonesty and bad behavior overall.

We stayed in the Junior Suites May 4-6. It was a very good stay. The suite is spacious with separate sitting area. We arrived to FCO around 22:00 and didn't get to the B&B until near midnight. Davide was there waiting for us even though he lives elsewhere. Breakfast was nice with Croissant, pie, yogurt, milk and coffee. Giuseppe, Davide's father, is very nice. He made very good cappuccino. The B&B is very close to a bus stop & a metro stop.

This is a B&B located on one floor of an apartment building in Rome. Some rooms have a shared bath, while we stayed in a nice suite of rooms with bedroom, living area and bath. The living area had a comfortable fold out couch, so 4 could sleep here easily. It is family run, the owner 's English is limited, but he keeps an app on his phone for instant translations. Both his son & daughter have adequate English. They arranged a car to pick us up at the airport for roughly the same price as a taxi. Breakfast is limited to packaged pastries , yogurt, cereal and juice. It was easy to get a bus to the Coliseum and Vatican City. This is a pleasant and low-cost Rome option.

Quiet location and close to everything

This quaint B&B was easy to find and centrally located within the city. The father and daughter running it were very friendly and helpful and knew a great deal about the local area such as where to eat and what to see.
The room was spacious, clean, and the bathroom and kitchen were delightful as well.
The location was quiet, but still very close to metro stations and bus stops so getting around the city was simple.
I will definitely be staying here again!

Stay at the La Breccia a Porta Pia they are wonderful gracious host. With the most excellent welcoming environment. No need for a car transit is very close easy to get to all of attractions. The food in the neighborhood is so good. Davide speaks very good english and was there to welcome us. Our suite was spacious and we were very comfortable. I wish we would have stayed a few more days! Roma has so much to offer. This B&B was perfect for us. Giuseppe greeted us every morning with espresso and pastries for breakfast. Very comfortable, hospitable place to stay. We received an email from Davide the Host a day before to ensure the time and day of our arrival which was very pleasant. We were able to get into our rooms earlier than the official time and helped us a lot in settling in as well as utilizing our time as we were limited on days while visiting. They were super nice and helpful in every needs we had, great info on how to get around and where to eat for cheap but quality, He had answers for everything and if he didn't he would find out shortly after, great hospitality!
We did mention to separate the fridge in the sense of what is common food for all and which has been a personal purchase as we did have a minor issue in regards to this issue.
Overall, great experience and the location was very close to Termini Station which is the heart of the city and can get around anywhere from this location.

Great B&B, very relaxed atmosphere and it's a stone's throw away from the sights to see in rome. Check in has to be pre-arranged so just know that. But meeting, getting checked-in, and checking-out was simple and professional. Great value for price as it is half the price of most competitos, and breakfast is free. Will stay if I'm in Rome again!

lovely stay

Many thanks to Davide and Giuseppe for a very welcoming, easy and comfortable stay in their centrally located apartment b&b. I spent most of my time out but there was an oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, tea set and fridge stocked with juices, yoghurts and mixers aswell as a selection of spirits. The shared bathroom (pretty sure some rooms are ensuite) had been newly decorated and with a new shower and was lovely. My room was large, air conditioned and had a great balcony overlooking trees and a courtyard which I loved. The apartment doesn't have a front desk but Davide is contactable 24/7 and there were no issues. Would definitely stay again.

NOT WORTH IT U PAY PAY TOO MUCH FOR AN APARTMENT

IT IS AN APARTMENT IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDING HAVE 5 ROOMS. ROOMS FACING STREET ARE NOISE
3 ROOMS FACING BACK BUILDING IS OK
LESS THEN WHAT YOU EXPECTING
WITH SAME MONEY YOU WILL GET WAY BETTER

best hotel experience ever!

This was an amazing experience. The hotel would be a find at twice the price (it's very reasonable). Davide and Guisippe were incredible hosts--helpful, jovial, considerate of personal space. The room we stayed in (a larger room with a sitting area) was perfect--actually it is larger and better than the photos, which is rare! Also, the neighborhood is outside of the tourist district, so the restaurants are terrific and the streets are quiet even in August. Super highly recommended in every way!

we expect a little more from the hotel.

we expected a little more from the hotel. There is no lobby and they gave us 3 keys to have access to the front door and the rooms. Also i didnt like to share the bathroom with other rooms.

Finally people that care, very nice B&B!

Professional and very nice owners, very clean and comfortable, the rooms are big, it was like having a individual little apartment all to ourselves, loved our stay, thank you very much!

I had a wonderful stay at La Breccia B and B. The location was great, a nice quiet neighborhood well located for sightseeing and with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Davide went out of his way to make sure everything was comfortable. A really excellent find for the price.

The best night sleep I got on he trip was here ! The memory foam mattress is so comfortable and the room is spacious with air conditioning. Bathroom was impeccably clean with a modern rainforest shower head.

Not a bad stay

We stayed there for 4 nights,very happy about the location,close to metro station (about 10 minutes walk),with supermarket ,restaurants cafe around.The owner is friendly and helpful .The room was spacious with a balcony 、fancy bedding .it made us feel like home.The only problem we had was a few people in the next room were very loud in the middle of the night.there is a door between each room ,so you can hear people talking and laughing next door pretty clearly.If you are a light sleeper maybe this is the right hotel for you .But we are happy about our stay overall.

Our stay in Rome

The room was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen had yogurt, toast and tea available at all times. The bathroom was nice, and we didn't have a problem at all with the shared bathroom.

this felt just like my own home

No wonder this B&B got 9 out of ten on tripadvisor site . I give it 10 . After 3 sleepless nights in other hotels (street noise )we slept like baby. Joseph owner and his son treated us like their own family. I was hesitant before booking (shared bathroom) but found it was absolutely higher than expected, extra clean, modern facilities . . Overall never felt less compared to private one. I loved the exquisites about interior architecture , tiles,. . But above all loved the private Garden side balcony . Thank you for having us as your own family You are always welcome to our home (Vancouver BC) I wish I had booked a longer stay here indeed we felt like having the whole house to ourselves , just a wonderful time and precious memory . We even interacted had blessed conversation about our lives , kids, even politics :) I will never forget our stay . Will definitely book our whole stay here next time we are in Rome, hey I threw a beauiful coin in the most beautiful fountain in the whole universe after all

Love these people

This was our first stay in Europe and didn't know what to expect. Porta Pia isn't in the heart of the tourist sites but it is really well served by buses and and trains are a short walk away. Our room felt big and had the private bath with a small shower. Generally the place is quiet but when other people are moving around you definitely hear them. The little old elevator was great and a real live saver over all the steps. But most of all I loved \"Dad,\" I only spoke English and he didn't. We used our translators when we needed but his big smile and genuine friendliness made me glad to be there.

La Breccia a Porta Pia B&B

The B&B is obviously new, and in a quieter residential neighborhood, but not far from major sights. It's impeccably clean (among the cleanest properties I have seen), and the hosts are genuinely helpful and friendly.

The room amenities are sparse, but adequate, and the bathroom is modern and very clean. Breakfast is decent, and the coffee machine, tea, and juices are available around the clock.

The neighborhood is lovely, and has many gems, such as tailors, shoe repairers, barbers, boutiques and restaurants that are all very affordable by Roman standards. You can buy excellent produce, salumi and cheese nearby for a fraction of the cost in would be in North America. This is the real value of the place, in my opinion.

The only downside is that the doors (not walls) are thin, and this means if other guests are chatty and noisy, you will hear them. The property should be able to correct this with some sound curtains and rugs in the guest rooms.
