It was our first trip to Rome so unsure about the areas to stay in. In searching on line I thought Deseo Home looked like a good option as it was one of the more affordable hotels and photos of the rooms made me think they were clean and spacious. I was correct for the most part, except there were two small areas in the bathroom that had mold. They were very small so we didn’t complain but there was also a semi-clogged sink with a leak which management has to know about as the housekeeper kept placing the trash bucket below the faucet. A little TLC would go a long way! Service was good as staff is friendly and helpful. Didn’t try the breakfast included but had a cappuccino to go and it was fantastic, sorry I missed the rest.

I wasn’t sure we got the room we had paid for. I queried it with Reception but they said it was a Superior Double room it seemed nothing like the other rooms on the same level. It was a shame as Breakfast & location was good.

It is a very cosy and quiet place in the heart of Rome and only 15 min away from Termini.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They arranged pick up from the airport and drop off. The food was very delicious and quite diverse.

The rooms were cleaned every day and there was soaking and plain water in the fridge. Aside from this, there was coffee and tea.

Deseo Hotel is very clean. They have good breakfast as well. But when I checked in, they didn't give us two twin beds as I requested in my booking
They blamed Expedia for not confirming it to them. We have no choice but to take the one double bed room. Also, unfortunately, I was victimized by an organized criminals in Rome and took my wallet leaving me penniless. When I get back to the hotel to ask for help to find me the nearest police station so I can file a report. They don't know it, but after looking at the internet they gave me an address which was very far. I went but the address they gave me was closed. After 4 hours of looking for a police station, I finally found one which was literally a block away from Deseo. I mean, I thought they should know important information like the location of police station especially knowing that Rome is the hub of theives.

Nice place especially the front desk. He is very helpful, the best part of our stay. I gave it a four for the following reasons: 1. we don't have a kettle in the room and that's really not convenient for us. 2. The first day we checked in the room was little dusty but the second day the cleaning was good. Have to mention their breakfast was good. Love it, with salad etc. Very balanced.

My stay was wonderful! The staff was extremely helpful and even let me borrow an umbrella when I asked where to buy one. The room was nice, comfy, clean bed, working air etc. Maybe an 8 minute walk from the train station. Not super near a metro so i just walked to termini to catch mine.
Also, the staff is there most of the time but as stated on their description you should let them know when you plan to arrive. If they arent there they do have a fee phone numbers to call and someone will be with you very shortly. Just dont show up super late and expect someone to be there 24 hours!

Super friendly staff made me feel welcome

I’m sure one can find lots of hotels in Rome. What is unusual about this one, however, was how genuinely friendly the staff is. Alessandro in particular was unbelievably personal and helpful and acted as if he was an old friend I had known for years. No matter how many questions I threw at him (and how many times I forgot the answers he gave me), he patiently explained what I needed to know and really made me feel as if I’m staying at a friend’s house. The only thing I would ask them to re-consider is the toilet design in the bathroom (doubling as a BD at the same time). I opted for a small room, which was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was plentiful and kept me going for hours. I will not hesitate recommending it to my friends and will stay there myself again for sure.

The room was nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well. The only thing that was a hassle was that a lot of water would leak out of the shower which caused a big mess on the floor. Besides that, everything was good.

This is a wonderful hotel in a good area. Near to Termini, transport links, cafes and bars etc.To us Most impressive was the layout- modern, spotless , clean and comfy rooms set in an old, authentic Italian residential building. room cleaning wasn't perfect ( toiletries and glasses not replaced) but otherwise perfect.

I was only staying in this hotel for one night. As soon as I was shown the room the general good appearance made a good impression on me, so I only stayed for a few minutes feeling very keen to start my short visit in Rome. Everything, and particularly the bathroom, looked very new and contemporary in style. It wasn't until I went to bed at night that I noticed the presence of a boiler in the room that also serves the one next door. This really spoilt my whole experience because I found it very difficult to get to sleep. In the end I had to improvise making some ear plugs with toilet tissue.
I also noticed a strong perfume in the room which may not be for everyone's taste. Although I appreciate the good intentions of the staff, they should definitely tame the amount of perfume in the room.

Amazing location

The hotel is a gem for the price. Amazing rooms (very clean), the friendliest staff I have ever encountered and a dream location (metro is literally 10 min walk). However, I did get stuck in the lift when I arrived but that didn’t bother me because the staff helped tremendously. But all in all, the hotel was wonderful, with the comfiest of beds and I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for 62 and 492 bus back after a long day out. Order airport transfer 20 mins before you think you need it and bear in mind you might be invited to tip. Overall, a very good base with nice restaurants clode by and Galetaria Romana round the corner.

Great location close to Terminii railway station and metro, there are also some restaurants nearby. The rooms we stayed in were on the second floor. They were newly refurbished and are modern and clean. The rooms are quite small and the shower in rooms1 & 5 are very small. We stayed in 1 and 4 the second time and room 4 was bigger and the shower was very much bigger.
Breakfast was tasty and adequate. Staff in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful. Resection staff were also very friendly and Simone took us to a very good pizza restaurant on the day we arrived. Thank you again.
There are no bar facilities or public areas in the hotel other than the breakfast room.
At the moment there is a lot of building work going on both inside and outside, however we weren't inconvenienced by it

We cannot fault our stay here, exceptional service was provided all round, from local recommendations of what to do, early check-in, to providing a in-room breakfast to accomodate a very early departure. The hotel is in a good location, has a chic boutique feel to it and was a very comfortable stay for us. Breakfast included was delightful and a varied selection for a good start to the day. You will not be dissappointed with the service or the comfort of your stay here.

It is located about a 10mins walk from the central station. Once check in, you are equipped with a key card for main door, 2nd door and room. very simple basic room with stellar wifi coverage. Very tranquil and peaceful as it is next to the british embassy compound and house other offices. They served a simple breakfast spread in their humble dining room. It was delightful with fresh bakes, cheese, fruits etc. But it's the vast amount of smiles & \"BONJOURNO\" that greets and wakes you as you enter that just cheers me. Staffs were just chirpy....and they served delicious \"IN YOUR FACE\" bold Americano coffee .....YUM!

Nice room, great staff, nice breakfast spread and seating area. My only beef is that the safes are not secured to the wall. They're just sitting loose in a cabinet so anyone could just walk off the the entire safe. I stayed there twice in two different rooms and both times the safe was just sitting there loose. Anyone with access to the room could walk off with the safe and its contents.

Great staff made my check in great. They made all the points and routes to visit in the few days I was in Rome.

It’s a good location too not far from bus station Termini. Even the night staff were excellent.

The hotel is shared in a building. The communal area is pleasant too on the hotel floors just outside the rooms.

I would say the showers need to be improved as they weren’t powerful enough at all and need to be more hot in temp.

The Nutella crossaints were amazing at breakfast too.

Overall was a great stay there would recommend it.

The Deseo Home hotel was lovely and really affordable! We were only there three nights but it was lovely. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with a gorgeous big bed. The shower was a lovely size. Plus there was free WiFi and the breakfast options were wonderful. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a decently priced and cheerful stay in Rome!

Very nice, clean hotel. A little off the beaten path but still a good location. Since it is a bit away from the main attractions it is very quiet. Never heard any street noise. A/C worked great, breakfast was nice. Water pressure wasn't great and the pillows were stiff but other than that, it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I travel extensively and I would highly recommend Deseo.

Booked a superior room and glad we did, although it had a large bed the room still wasn't massive but there was plenty of room for our luggage. Room was clean but is looking a little tired in places, especially some of the paintwork. Breakfast was perfect and the staff were very helpful. The location was great-we walked absolutely everywhere. Would stay again.

Had a very pleasant stay at Deseo Home. Room was comfortable and cleaned everyday with new bed sheets and towels. The staff were very friendly and helpful and when we arrived they gave us some ideas of what to do during our trip, also some recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast was quite limited but it was nice. We walked pretty much everywhere so its in a good location.

Loved it! Wonderful and helpful staff. Clean and new rooms. Don't be discouraged at first by the outside of the building -- it doesn't look like a hotel. It's a homey B&B feel, but modern. Neighbourhood is north of the centre/touristy area, which is our preference. We walked to everything but there's also buses and metro nearby. Make sure to get gelato at Romana and check out local restaurants. Go north as well to Coppedè to avoid tourists and see fairytale-like buildings!

Our stay was great! We had a very friendly welcome and staff were really helpful in arranging our 3 day visit in Rome with fitting in all the sights and had useful tips about transport.Our room was beautiful,comfortable,clean and modern, the only change I'd suggest is it would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, and unfortunately our room was right next to the kitchen,so we could hear breakfast set up in the morning which was quite noisy, but helped us get up and going with the day - not so good if you fancy a lie in. Location is good,quiet area but with bus stop outside,and 10 minutes walk to main train station,about 20 to colosseum. Breakfast was basic - no cooked food,but breads, fruit, cereal, juice, tea and fresh coffee. We really enjoyed it and the breakfast room was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend Deseo Home and will definitely stay again as we think it was excellent. I think you'd struggle to find anything better for a short trip unless you spent a small fortune!

Would not recommend this hotel!

This place occupies the second and third floors of a residential building. It's NOT a hotel. A hotel manager who doesn't speak English very well will greet you and guide you to a supposedly apartment size room that has been divided into 4 smaller rooms ( more like corners of the room). Breakfast is nice. We are not a fan of the neighborhood though. There are too many pocket picking!!!

The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and spacious, and we had a nice time. Things that other travelers may want to be aware of is that because this is more B&B than hotel, the staffing hours are limited, and so you have to notify in advance if you plan to arrive after 4:00 p.m. This is fine if you're following a specific travel schedule but an extra arrangement to bear in mind if you are traveling between different cities and were planning on just catching whatever train was available in the evening after you finished your previous destination. Secondly, a lot of the rooms are clustered around the breakfast area, and so if you are normally a light or late sleeper on vacation, you will have dishes and platters clattering outside your door starting at 6:45 each morning when breakfast is set up, followed by the feeding and chatter of each room's guests as they get up. The main train station is about a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel, and there is another metro station a few minutes closer.

Modern, stylish hotel, fairly central location

This is a chic, stylish hotel in a classic Roman apartment building.

The location is fairly central, about a 10 minute walk from Termini station. It's also possible to walk to all of the main attractions from here, although be prepared to walk a lot!

The decor was modern and stylish, and the room was very clean with good facilities. The only disadvantage is that it wasn't particularly soundproof and some noise did carry between rooms.

The staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived the man on the desk gave us a detailed explanation of all the sights and the best routes to see them all. Any other queries we had were dealt with quickly. However we were repeatedly asked to specify our arrival time before we came, and yet our room was not ready for another 2 hours.
The breakfast was a continental buffet which was very tasty and convenient.
Overall this is a good hotel in a good location.

A True Gem

My partner and I visited Rome for 2 days as part of our Euro trip, and we had a very welcoming and relaxing time at the Deseo Home.

The location is ideal (in our opinion) as it's away from the noise of the city and it's in a quiet part of town. Additionally, it's directly near the Metro and a wonderful Gelato shop.

The breakfast was delicious, the service is welcoming, and we even got a full map with tips and guides on how to see the city best (which was extremely helpful on our 2-day quick trip). The rooms are stylish/chic and have all the amenities one needs on a trip.

We enjoy watching foreign television and films, but after being through a few countries, our ears were a bit tired and were hoping for at least 1 English speaking channel. This definitely is NOT a downside and completely understandable (after all, immersion is our favorite way of experiencing a city), but it just struck us as a bit odd since Paris and Barcelona had 1-2 English speaking channels (i.e. BBC News, etc).

All-in-all, wonderful trip, very helpful staff, and we plan on staying here again the next time we're in Rome :)

Charming little place!

We've been staying at the Deseo hotel with our 4 months old baby and it was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful and understanding. We have tried many hotels in Rome and this one is the cleanest, and the most charming.
We will go back.

I recommend!

Couldn't find anything to complain about! Great service, good location, refrigerator with cold water in the room, clean and comfortable, elevator, tea and coffee available 24h, 12min walk distance to the main train station, good price, very nice breakfast!

Der erste Eindruck war schlecht doch die Zimmer sind Sauber
Das Personal ist net doch die Ausstattung ist langsam über den Zenit da und dort hat es defekte Teile
Die Zimmertüren schliessen schlecht den lärm ab

Hotel confortável e bem localizado em Roma, com um bom café da manhã e opções personalizadas. Os recepcionistas também foram muito gentis, prestativos e agradáveis. Um abraço a todos.

Gostei do hotel

O banheiro só tem porta na parte do vaso. A parte que tinha o box dava para ver a pessoa tomando banho. Para um casal tudo bem, mas se vc viaja com filhos fica complicado. Não sei se todos os quartos são assim. Pessoal simpático. Limpavam todos os dias o quarto e trocavam as toalhas.
