Very convenient location and friendly staff, but thin walls, outside noise late at night and AC wasn't working correctly.

Within walking distance of the metro, very nice location. The bed wasn't too comfortable - it felt like two twins pushed together so there was a depression in the middle. At night my room got above 24C and i mentioned it twice but nobody ever came to check the room. I opened the window at night but there is a restaurant/bar nearby and they were quite noisy until about 3am. . . Even with the window closed and on the 2nd floor (3rd floor for those in the USA), i could still hear them; which made for some warm nights.

A ten minute walk from termini. The staff was so kind and helpful. The room is slightly outdated. There is a restaurant around the corner that likes to stay up late and I could hear them from the room.

This property did not live up to its billing. It was very loud and we had crowds of school kids staying which led to noise, knocking on doors, changing the signs from do not disturb to needs cleaning, etc. The plumbing was awful with the shower changing from scalding to freezing in an instant and is frankly dangerous. I would not stay there again.

The property was closed ! Was sent to another hotel called (No To Hotel ) the name was right NO don't stay here!. The First night the A/c goes out at 3am I wake up sweating! I call the exception on the phone in the room no answer I called the reception on my cell phone no answer I had to go down to the front reception I asked him can you fix this he says it's not my job! Horrible customer service! They even took my cell phone charger and nice found it !

A nice friendly hotel

The hotel was well situated, very helpful and friendly staff. I had a single room, very small and dark with no windows only a patio door which did not open, not good in case of fire. My room was located very close to the reception area, which at times was very noisy. I was only staying for a few days and out most of the time, otherwise I would have asked to move rooms.

This hotel was nice and was close to the Roma Termini station as well as other public transportation. The Continental buffet breakfast in the morning was enough to get us up and going, it was included in our package price. There were several quaint restaurants nearby and souvenir shops. There is a daily market on the street outside that had an assortment of fruit and vegetables and other wares to buy. It’s definitely not five star but it was clean and well-kept, the staff was helpful and somewhat understood English. The only fault we found with it was the fact that there was no shower in the room just a showerhead hooked on the wall above the tub but no shower curtain. When I asked the front desk about a room with a shower stall she did not understand what I meant. We stayed for two nights and it was fine.

Good for one night (no more)

While the staff was great, our room was terrible. My wife and I stayed in a room on the 5th floor for 3 nights. Our room was uncomfortably warm the entire time. There was a fan blowing some air, but it was not cool enough to make a difference. We also opened the window hoping that would help. The worst part is, our room/window was directly next to some fans/machines on the roof. These things were constantly banging, restarting and just making so much noise. Needless to say, we didnt get much sleep. If you stay here, make sure you are not on the 5th floor.

Little out the way but a nice cheap hotel

Booked this hotel knowing nothing about Rome and where was good to stay. It was a little out of the way, so get your walking shoes on.
For the price we paid it was a nice little hotel, with decent facilities, free safe in room, and wifi in lobby. Breakfast was ok, if you want more then go find a cafe, which there are a few near. Hotel was clean, and staff were polite and attentive.
Overall decent cheap place to stay, and as we always say “ you only sleep at the hotel when on a city break”

We're not happy with our stay because of the bathtub in a shower design. There was no shower enclosure nor curtain so when you take a shower, the water spills on the floor (and you know what happens when it's slippery: a fall or a slide). Slow Wi-Fi, you have to stay in the lobby to get connected.

Great location, basic but does the job.

Just got back from Rome and if you are looking for a base near termini metro, then this one will do. A few improvements needed but not end of the world coffee/tea in room would be great, breakfast continental basic could do with some fresh fruit and a toaster and walls are a bit thin so you can hear next room etc but to be expected as small hotel.

However these things don’t matter as it is clean, bed is comfortable, staff are lovely especially Anna Maria on reception, gave us loads of info and nothing was to much trouble. For me it’s only 5 mins from metro and main train station and great for open bus tours. So if you want a room for the night to be able to tour this beautiful city and aren’t a fussy fuss pot about all the small things then this will do, you get what you pay for.

It is a nice hotel close to the train station

The staff at the front desk were most helpful and helped us find excellent local restaurants. We found our room to be comfortable and clean and good value for the money. The breakfast could have been improved by providing fresh fruit rather than canned fruit and perhaps hard boiled eggs as variety. We were pleased with location being so close to the train, bus and metro stations. It made it so easy getting around and making the most of our time in Rome. Our room faced out onto the street and first thing in the morning the noise of the markets setting up disturbed our sleep.

Close to Termini Station; NO WI-FI in rooms!

This is pretty close to Rome's main railway station (Termini)--less than a 10-minute walk which made it convenient for travel. This is also where two of main Metro subway lines cross. The hotel itself is older with some updates. The biggest issue was having no Wi-Fi in the rooms--this should have been advertised in the listing. You can only get it in the lounge which can quickly fill up with others trying to do the sam.

Hotel Floridia Rome

My stay at Hotel Floridia went without any problems. The staff was excellent and very knowledgeable of Rome and giving directions. The room was always kept clean. The only item one has to get used to is that there is no shower curtain in the bathroom. This is most likely what most North-Americans expect to see in a bathroom, but I got used to showering without a curtain in no time flat.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome. The hotel rate (through Expedia) is reasonable.

Unfortunate stay

Second stay at this hotel. Unfortunately I was in a room next to the air conditioning vent a the top of the hotel and it was very noisy. After raising the issue with the Hotel management they arranged for me to move to another local hotel as there were no other available rooms. Excellent customer service.

The Floridia Hotel is well located being 5 minutes walk away from the main Rome Termini station with good train links to the airport, and the metro. The hotel is well kept and presented. The corridors to the rooms are quite narrow, and the rooms themselves are compact but comfortable with aircon. The 'continental' breakfast was very good.
A good hotel to base a visit to Rome.

While simplistic the Hotel Floridia was very clean in a good location and the staff were very helpful and friendly,
The room was only just comfortable having 2 single beds pushed together and i would advise that a welcome letter be made available as i had no idea the hotel offered wifi or that the air con could be turned off.

Would happily stay here again as the negatives were very minimal and less so if i had bothered to ask.

This hotel was great for us. We were on the go a lot and this was our base hotel. Nice cool room, great helpful staff, 10min from Termini station. Very good restaurants nearby as well. Breakfast buffet was adequate to start the day. We stayed 15 nights although stayed in other cities during our trip as well. If your a hotel snob it's not for you but was perfect for us.

Great exercise. The bed was a bit hard and the washroom was a bit small. Washroom bathtub was really high and not deep at all like the North American tubs. No shower curtain so it was difficult to shower without spilling water on to the floor.

A bit tired but close to Termini.

The front desk crew are pleasant and eager to please, esp the females – the Italian men generally at reception are a little too gruff for my liking but that’s a cultural thing anyway and Italianos must like it. Breakfast was extraordinarily ordinary. The coffee machine seemed a little awry, producing a strange brew indeed. The lack of fresh fruit was a downer. As usual at Italian breakfasts there were plenty of carbs and sugar to consume.
Up in the “roomette” there was a lot of evidence why the tariff was so reasonable. One would not spend more than a couple of days here, on evidence of the single anyway. Cramped, no internet coverage, shower with a no-screen water problem (the long ago given up on water-damaged door as evidence), no room for comfortable chair etc. The trappings, chair covers in foyer forvexample, are sort of soiled

Hotel room was small but comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast only, which is fine for me. Staff friendly and helpful. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Hotel had plenty of maps of the city at reception.

15 minute walk from Trevi fountain. Hotel was between two metro stations. 10 minute walk to both where it was 3 stops to the Vagican on one line and similar amount of stops to the colosseum on the other. 2 or 3 stops to the spanish steps.

There is an open air market just outside this hotel, and the neighborhood is on the dirty side. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Otherwise, the hotel is clean, staff is friendly, and the cost is great.

Overall the hotel is very good. however it is basic.
The room does not have tea or coffee making facilities, which was disappointing, there is however a machine in the reception area.
The television does not have any English speaking channels.
Breakfast was very good.
There is a street market everyday. As the stalls start setting up at 5am the noise can be very disturbing.
If you are looking for a central hotel at a very reasonable cost then consider the Floridia.
But this is certainly not a luxury hotel.

Good location, but nothing special

The hotel is <10mins walk from Termini station (Main metro and train hub in Rome). If travelling from Fiumicino there is a direct train from the airport to termini and then a 10min walk to the hotel which is excellent. The area the hotel is in is fine, though there is a market every morning outside the hotel which generates a fair bit of noise from 6am onwards if you are on that side of the hotel. The area itself feels safe, but the street the hotel is on seems a little iffy: there are a lot of guys who hang about outside the shops and doors late at night. I had no trouble, but wouldn't necessarily recommend for a young single female.

The hotel room itself was very small, basic and dark. Old fashioned bed, decoration and furniture. The bed was very hard and was made of two singles, so we kept slipping down the centre. The air conditioning didn't work, nor did the refrigerator, two light switches, mains switches and the bathroom extractor fan. The TV was connected to the main lights, so you got both or neither.

The staff were unfriendly and barely said hello. On leaving we were handed the tax bill and that was it, no \"goodbye\", \"how was your stay\" etc. Though their English was spot-on. The hotel only offers Wi-Fi in the lobby, which was nice and fast, but very annoying. The other annoying part was we seemed to be in a dead zone for a cell phone signal, and when we did have a signal we couldn't get 3G. This made it very difficult to google locations, use maps etc.

Well situated for exploring Rome.

We were very happy with Hotel Floridia which was perfectly placed for exploring the city. Bedrooms are small but clean. Beds are comfortable. Staff were pleasant. It is situated on a side street which has a daily street market, so there is some noise from the set up process. However, I personally felt this all added to the ambience. The only complaint is that the hotel clearly rents rooms to large parties of school children. They were noisy and disruptive every one of the four nights we stayed and the noise is exaggerated by the marble flooring and heavy wooden doors.

Basic Hotel at Good Location

Pros: Great location. Good price. Friendly Staff.
Cons: WiFi only at lobby. Hotel and facilities are aged. Small Room.

It’s about 10 minutes’ walk from the major MTR station and train station (Termini station). There is a street market right in front of the hotel and in the morning you can buy fruits there at very good price. Besides, there is a sizable supermarket at the basement floor of Termini Station where you can buy food and drink as well as souvenirs like pasta and olive oil. I also bought pizza from this supermarket which is quite good. It’s within walking distance to Piazza della Repubblica and Santa Maria degli Angeli. You can easily take subway from Termini Station to Vatican (Ottaviano stop at Line A) and remember to dress appropriately for church (cover shoulders and knees).

Hotel is basic with aged facilities. The room I have is small but a quiet and safe place for a tourist. Staff iw friendly. WiFi is not available at the rooms but available at lobby. In short, this is a normal hotel at reasonable price.

Budget Break

Our personal priority is clean sheets, hot water and within our budget - in that respect this hotel passed. The room was adequate for us (mature couple) but if you planned on entertaining friends in the room it would be cramped. We only used the TV as background (MTV) but if you like to sit up in bed all night watching movies, it was all in Italian (at least we didn't find anything in English in the quick scan we did).
The shower was the odd one out. It was over the bath with ample hot water, but there was no shower curtain. Consequently, even when being careful, the toilet, bidet and floor all got showered with you. This wasn't an issue for us but must be a real bug bear for the maids each day.
Wifi was ample for WhatsApp, emails and BBC news. I didn't stream any movies. However, as the notice at reception will tell you, it is only available in the foyer.
Breakfast was very basic. A few cold meats, bread rolls and jam (preserves, jello etc.). All flavours of coffee from a self serve machine. Enough to keep you going for a while.

Our room was right next to the lift (elevator) but I never heard it once. Very quiet.
Overall I was happy with the room considering it was at the lower end of my budget.

A helpful staff that spoke pretty good English, Very nice breakfast. I loved the coffee machine which you could choose different types of coffee, I liked the shortbread pastry, my husband liked the croissants. Lots of choices. The room wasn't big but worked. The shower was a bit of a challenge, hand held with no shower curtain led to wet floors that we mopped up with towels. They gave us nice big towels. Firm twin beds, not very great pillows... flat and hard. Tiny Tv, but we didn't care because, we spent the day sight seeing. Nice and cold a/c. It was perfect for the price and our needs..

A total disappointment

I arrived at the hotel only to be told that we would have to go to another hotel, NOTO owned by this organization. I was told that the room we were to stay in was being repaired. We were escorted to NOTO by a hotel worker who assisted with our luggage. The room appeared satisfactory. Some of our luggage was left at the NOTO hotel as we were returning following a tour. Following the tour, we returned to the hotel NOTO, I was told we were expected at the Hotel Floridia. The person I was traveling with understood Italian. Obviously the male attendant at the desk was unaware of that detail, as he spoke in Italian to an employee to basically move us on quickly.When made aware of this information later, I felt disgusted. I did not understand him but I could tell by his demeanor that he was speaking in a derogatory manner about us. When we arrived at the Hotel Floridia we were given a room that had a double bed in it. I spoke to the hotel reception and requested a twin room. I was shown to a dingy dark room on the ground floor that had 3 single beds in it. It was unacceptable. I soon realized that the \"double bed\" in the other room was actually 2 single beds pushed together. I pushed these apart so as we then had what we had requested initially. The room had an air conditioning system that was situated above where I entered the room. A light shone into the room all night. Quite odd. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone because of my experience

Nice hotel close to amenities.

Helpful staff. Comfortable small room with good air conditioning. Close to Termini and also grocery store, Web cafe, laundry and there's a market out front every morning. Shower is sit-down style but it works.

Poor upkeep on a nice hotel

We stayed a night at the hotel Floridia on the last night of vacation before returning to the US. The hotel was very close to the central train station and took only a few minutes to walk to. There was a mistake in our resevationand instead of the double room we had on our paper from Orbitz the hotel had us for a triple twin room. When we arrived and they saw we were a married couple and not three people they tried to fix the situation and ended up putting two twin beds together and making them up with king bedding. It was a solution but not the most comfortable. The hotel was clean as was the room. The room was very small with barely room to walk around the bed. The mattress was comfortable and the bedding seemed clean. The air conditioner did not work well. It ran but it did not cool the room to a comfortable level. Of course we did not find that out until the only person at the desk was the night watchman. The bathroom has a shower/tub but no partition or curtain so the water gets everywhere when you take a shower. We chose the breakfast buffet option and it was serviceable but everything was canned or otherwise preserved which is sad in a city of fresh produce and breads! Back to the positives...There is a lovely restaurant right beside the hotel where we enjoyed a pasta dinner.

Fantastic hotel very clean and nice staff. It is in a lovely place with a fantastic resteraunt on the next street. Overall had a great trip and if your looking for a nice hotel for a base then this is perfect.

Hotel close to train terminus

Hotel well placed for transport links BUT dated decor and although room clean the marks on walls, chips on furniture and stained curtains removes this from hotel to cheap hostel category. Breakfast adequate, you will not be hungry unless you are a fussy eater. Bed comfy, sheets and mattress clean. Quite location and undisturbed sleep until a group of youths arrived who should have been in Magaluf not Rome. Constant noise and lack of respect for other guests from this group, disgraceful behaviour.

No wifi in the rooms

The room is extremely small, and it does not resemble the pictures from Expedia, but the biggest issue was wifi, it is only available in the lobby, and sometimes didn't work. It is 2016, wifi is something that should be included as a basic service.

Hotel Florida- Our View

We recently returned from a week end trip to Rome. We stayed for 4 nights in Hotel Florida Via Montebello 45. We had a bed with twin beds situated on the 3rd Floor. Cleaners visited daily and ensured the room was kept clean.
Unfortunately there is that awful problem with the shower having no shower curtain. You end up getting out of the shower onto a floor that is absolutely soaking despite which ever way you place the shower head. There is a 'soak away' hole on the floor which serves no purpose. At one point the water on the floor had left the bathroom and was flowing into the bedroom. I then had to use all the bath towels to mop the floor. This is an 'accident' waiting to happen. This could pose significant risk where an individual is an any way unsteady on their feet, or where someone just simply slips. This really needs to be addressed.
Breakfast is meagre so dont expect any thing related to a 'full English' or a 'full Irish' or you will be hugely disappointed. The hot water machine will provide you with 'luke warm' water for your tea. But you wont starve and you can have some decent croissants , cheese and ham, and fresh crusty bread. The dining room is kept clean and well presented. This is the only meal provided in this hotel.
Staff were warm and friendly. The hotel itself is in an excellent location for access to all of the historic sites. Termini Central is only a six to eight minute walk. There is a choice of many restaurants all around you.You get what you pay for.

O quarto era horrível, minúsculo, sem janela, sem ventilação, quente, com paredes que pareciam mofadas. As fotos não condizem com o local. Eu e meu marido ainda fomos colocados no último andar, sem elevador, pois o elevador só ia até o penúltimo andar. Mesmo vendo que estávamos com mala grande e que não éramos tão jovens, nos fizeram ter que subir com mala grande e pesada por uma escada estreita. O local não é tão próximo das atrações (cerca de quinze minutos ou mais andando) e relativamente próximo da estação de trem (cerca de 500 a 600 metros). Mas o quarto era simplesmente horrível, claustrofóbico. Não recomendo! Café da manhã bom, aceitável, com alguma variedade.
