We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights.

When we made the reservation, it was clearly stated that daily housekeeping service was provided. However, during our entire stay, no housekeeping was performed at all, even after we made a direct request to the front desk. This was misleading and unacceptable.

In addition, when we requested clean towels for shower use, the staff member we spoke with responded in a rude and dismissive manner, telling us that if we wanted clean towels, we should stay in a 5-star hotel instead. This comment was highly unprofessional and inappropriate, and it made us feel disrespected as paying guests.

Furthermore, the shower conditions were extremely poor. The water temperature was unstable and unsafe—hot, scalding water would come out one minute, followed by freezing cold water the next. Because of this, my son became ill and caught a cold during our stay. This raises serious concerns about guest safety and basic facility maintenance.

Due to the terrible services and qualities of the hotel, we feel we were overcharged.

No bed bugs or anything like that. The area was a little bit sketchy, but kind of typical for being near the train station in any European city, so not THAT bad- just like a fair amount of homeless people around and stuff like that. I found the check-in process to be kind of awkward and the WiFi didn’t really work (or at least was very unreliable).

When I booked the room, the picture showed that I would have a sink and mirror in my room, but my room didn’t actually have the sink and mirror. So just keep in mind that the pictures they show when you’re booking may not be totally representative of what your room is actually like.

Also, a cleaner or someone kept coming in my room every day and opening the patio door and curtains but not changing the sheets or anything, which I found kind of weird (would be nice to have a “do not disturb” option).

At the end of the day, it’s kind of a “you get what you pay for” kind of place. Like it’s not super nice, but like I said there are no bed bugs or anything like that and it’s a really good location in terms of getting around the city (or taking day trips to other relatively nearby cities like Florence or Naples) since it’s right near the main train station. So I would recommend for a budget traveler, but with those caveats that I mentioned.

This place shouldn’t be listed as a Hotel.
The lady who is in charge of it is very nice and helpful, but is not a hotel is a hostal. I book 4 nights at this place, it was until a few days before when I noticed that our reservation was for a room with share bathroom, when we got to the “Hotel “ we were so lucky when the lady told us that we were getting a room with our own bathroom. The location is perfect, is very close to de Via Nazionale, Piazza della Repubblic, Basilica Santa Maria and Termini Station. We payed 10 € extra per night to be able to have AC .

Rooms were quite tight and a little over populated in the dorm. I also found that the floor was regularly wet because there was no bathroom mat. There were not enough plugs for everyone in the room and not every bed had their own light.

It also would have been nice to have received recommendations about surrounding attractions.

It was cheap and located in a good place. Hostel and room meet only your primitive needs, but reception is always helpful. Safe for being solo. No area for eating or drinking. Only small table with 2 chairs in front of the reception desk. No kitchen, but you can use microwave at the reception and also fridge. Only 1 plug socket in the room with many places to charge a phone. I used my power bank instead. You can also store you luggage at their place for 3 Euros after check out for the whole day.

Awesome price/location

The hotel is situated near Termini station. This humble establishment offers services from its passionnat owner whom at every instance, guided me to nearby points of imterest. When asked about further locations from Rome, he even called different places for information and translated it. Overall great accomodations and a clean yet humble place.

Nice hotel in an excellent location

I enjoyed mystay at Cressy hotel. It is close to Roma Termini station and not so far from Reppublica metro station. There are a few bus stations nearby. Hotel itself is clean, their staff is very friendly, you may even leave your stuff after check-out for 1-2 euros.

This is a good place to stay with absolutely no frills. You won't be spending much time in your room anyway. The bed was comfortable compared to regular hotels i stayed at Italy. You do hear everything going on in the main hallway through the door. During my stay, it became silent around 8pm. I don't recall if there was a fan or a/c, only a window. Thankfully, it was a cool night. There was only one electrical outlet in the room.

Good for a solo traveller on a budget

My stay at Cressy was good. On a budget,it is hard to beat the location and the price. There is no air conditioning in the rooms (common in Rome unless otherwise specified) so if you have issues with the heat, it would not be a good choice. This is a pretty simple dorm room style accommodation. The location is really perfect for sightseeing and the staff were helpful! Great for a solo traveller on a budget!

The hostel was great for the price! 5 minute walk to Termini & Reppublica train stations which could get you anywhere in the city. 20 minute walk to Spanish steps and 30 minute walk to colosseum. Also, has a fridge where you could store your own food. The owners are really sweet & helpful, provide a map telling you how to get places.

Private rooms are great here. Dorm rooms can be loud depending on your roommates. Shared bathroom is fairly clean. Make sure you have toilet paper before you begin to potty. Short walk from Rome central train station. No air conditioning. Free wifi that works fairly well.

Pros: About 10 min walking distance to Roma Termini. Nice staff. Has elevator.

Cons: No blow dryer. No shampoo or conditioner. Really strange bathroom setup where shower and toilet separated only by curtain. No 24 hour staffing. Very spotty internet. Bad lighting in room.

Cheap and decent, right by Termini in Rome.

Worked very well for our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids). Simple, basic, efficient. It's a busy neighborhood, but the windows sealed out all light and sound, all night. So we slept well. The staff was friendly and fair. The price was right. Definitely worth it. We'd come back to the Cressy.

The best part of this hotel is its location - walking distance to Termini Station - so easy access to the train and metro stations. Even though it's called a \"hotel,\" expect to stay at a hostel. I stayed in a girls dormitory with 4 others. The room was clean and comfortable, but had poor wifi reception, so we had to go to the lobby for internet access. The washrooms were clean, but the shower is separated from the rest of the washroom by a single curtain, so bring flip flops if you don't want your feet to get wet. Hotel Cressy is on the 5th floor of the building, but the elevator is very old and small (only enough room for one person + luggage or 2 people). I ended up taking the stairs whenever I didn't have my luggage with me. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is quite affordable considering its proximity to Termini Station. Staff are polite and try to help you in your needs. Affordable and considering overall condition, I would strogly recomend this hotel. To tell you the truth, we've satyed in other hotel closeby rated as 4 stars and I would say Cressy is better this one.

Great location, not so clean rooms

I stayed in Cressy hotel for two nights, room was fair but quite cold, the bathroom had this old used soap-bars standing next to the shower which make me think that was not as clean as it looked. Staff is really nice. The best thing about this hotel is its centric location near the train stations and with shops and restaurants all around.
Because this was just a touristic flash trip to Rome I dint care much about the room, the bed was confortable and I got a good service by the staff, the value-price is fair.

I took a single room for a night before an interview and even though I booked late the price was decent. Staff were friendly and available and gave me a safe place to leave my bags after I checked out (2 euros to leave baggage, cheaper than Termini). Clean, quiet room and comfortable bed and it's so close to Termini that you can easily get into the centre.

Amazing Hostel.. Set the bar high

I had an amazing time staying at Cressy, the staff was extremely friendly and the rooms were ample and comfortable (I shared with two others).
The bathrooms were extremely big and clean! (they had two available that we could use!)
Overall my my stay in Rome one that I will never forget. I was fortunate enough to meet 4 backpackers that I will surely keep in contact for the rest of my life, I just hope your stay (if you decide to stay, is as amazing as mine)

'Convienent Cressy'

Hotel Cressy although being a little hard to find is a delightful budget option. Close to both the 'Termini' and walking distance of some of Romes greatest attractions this is not to be overlooked both in the fact of value and convinience. The rooms are basic yet comfortable and staff friendly and helpful this should well be one the radar of someone wanting a cheap yet cheerful accommodation experience.

Simple, classical and friendly

I had chosen Cressy in search of pleasant simplicity, and that's exactly what I found there. Immediately upon my arrival, I felt as if I had been invited to a Roman home, while still feeling free to do as I wish. The place is simple and typically stilish at the same time, very quiet, clean and tidy, staff and room mates were especially friendly and helpful. My other criterion - vicinity to the Temini train station - was also satisfied.

The rooms are too small. Do not have a mirror or waste basket in the room. Lighting is very poor. The cot is steel and not suitable if you are above 5' 7\". Bathroom do not have towel rack or hook and you need to come out wet to collect your towel. Both WC and shower are at the same place. Floor is with glossy tiles and very slippery.

It was very hot and humid with no Ac or fan inside the room.

The hotel is in 5th floor. The lift is something unique and have never seen this type. Possiblity exists that you may have to climb 5 floors if some one do not close the inner two swing doors properly.

Avoid the hotel. It is convenient to Termini but the staff isn't very friendly. They tried to assess extra fees in cash after I arrived.

Go to The Yellow instead. I stayed there my second night in Rome and it was much better. It is also equally close to termini.

Best Hostel Experience

The Cressy is a small but very well-maintained hostel that far exceeded my expectations. It is close to Termini (the central train/metro/bus station) so is easy for tourists to get out sight-seeing or to grab a quick and easy breakfast, which is not provided by the hostel. The rooms are a decent size, well appointed without being cramped and very clean and I was pleasantly surprised to find my bed made up each day (towels were not replaced but that's fine by me). Toilets were also kept very clean. The staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly. One thing that I did find difficult were the locks on the doors so be sure you check ensure it's locked before heading out.

I picked this hostel because I needed a place to stay for 1 night that was close to Termini station. It was close and very clean; the man who greeted me was very nice and welcoming. It's a great place to crash for the night! The neighborhood itself isn't that exciting, but if you're looking for somewhere near the train station, I would highly recommend this place!

The Hotel Cressy was cheap and located close to a metro and the main area of Rome. the size of the room was small and the building in general is old and run down but for the price it's well worth it!

The gentlemen who handle the bookings were helpful and ready to offer their inside knowledge on venues for dinner drinks and the like

If you're looking for cheap and private this is where it's at I highly reccomend.

Simple, Cheap, and Noisy

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night because of a layover in Rome. I decided here because of the reviews. The hotel was small but functional. I didn't expect much for the rate that I paid. The linens were clean and had no complaints about the rooms itself. The hotel is in a noisy part of town so starting around 6am you can hear the traffic outside. During the night I was awoken by fighting between the owner and the girl staying with him. He was furious with here and it happened a few times through out the night.
