We stayed at the Raeli Regio on two separate occasions in Nov, 2025. Bott stays were pleasant. The front desk, and breakfast room, staff were always friendly and helpful. Although very handy to Termini station, we found the neighbourhood around this hotel to be very good. There were many cafes and restaurants, parks, grocery stores, bakeries, etc, and it was an easy walk to Repubblica metro. The hotel has an older decor, but it was very clean and comfortable, and excellent value.

Im not one to write reviews, but this place is too much to not criticize. Ive been to sleazy hotel, but this one takes the cake. No shower curtains, no water pressure, the room is the smallest you can buid, the bed is a rock, the pillows are a sheet of paper, and don’t get me started on the supposedly functionning a/c. Had someone sent over to fix it, he told me not to touch the panel, put the « fan mode » and told me it was a/c, i told him no, that it was another mode for a/c (with a little snowflake on the control pad) and he said no no, because no noise was coming out. Slept at 25 degree all night, while it was 19 outside. Open the window you say? Impossible with all the noise outside. The only good thing about this place, is that it’s a 5 minute walk from Roma Termini.

Do yourself a favor, book somewhere else

I feel completely deceived by all the glowing 10/10 reviews for this hotel. My experience was far from what those reviews promised.

To start, the hotel was dirty, both in the rooms and common areas. Our room had visible mold, and the vent was packed with what looked like dust or mold, which made me concerned about air quality. Speaking of air — the air conditioning didn’t work at all. Our room was hotter than the outside temperature, making it incredibly uncomfortable to sleep. Opening the window wasn’t an option either, as the neighborhood was loud and felt a bit unsafe, especially at night.

The WiFi barely worked, constantly cutting out, which was frustrating and made planning our days difficult. The ceiling had visible cracks that made it look unstable, and the mini fridge gave off so much heat inside its cabinet that it smelled almost dangerously hot when opened.

The shower setup was very odd — only a handheld shower head with nowhere to mount it, which made showering awkward and messy. Only one thin pillow per person was provided, hardly enough for a decent night’s rest.

One of the more concerning parts was the luggage storage. It’s completely self-service, with no tags, no tickets, no security checks. Anyone could potentially take someone else’s belongings without being questioned. This felt very unsafe.

The only positive I can mention is that the reception staff were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make up for the many issues with the hotel itself.

The Hotel Regio was a perfect choice for a seven night stay in Rome: in a great location, close to the Termini Railway Station and main bus terminus, but outside the main tourist centre, in an area that had a more authentic feel to it and with many local trattoria and restaurants that offered great value and seemed to be popular with locals.

The hotel itself is a fairly large hotel, nicely decorated, well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. We were allocated a room overlooking the street, which we thought might be noisy but was surprisingly quiet, even in the day. The room was large with plenty of storage space and cleaned every day and we slept soundly every night (perhaps helped by the fact that we walked all over the city).

There was a lot of variety at breakfast - we loved the croissants and bakery goods - and, even though there were some large groups staying at the hotel, the breakfast area covers four or five rooms, so there was always plenty of space.

What sets the hotel apart are all of its staff, who could offer a masterclass in customer service; consistently helpful, accommodating, and offering a friendly smile and greeting whenever we came and went during our stay.

I wouldn’t have any recommendation in recommending the Hotel Regio for anyone looking for a good mid-range hotel in the city and a convenient base for exploring Rome. We look forward to returning!

Lovely hotel and even better for the price. Friendly staff, clean hotel. Very typically Italian decor. Has all the facilities you might need, including a hair dryer in the end suite and a fridge in the room. The only negative is it can be very noisy at night if you have a room on the Main Street. So maybe bring earplugs! However, once all of the shops and restaurants have closed for the night (normally by about 1am). It’s fine. Very convenient for Termini Station and all of the main attractions are walkable (within 30 minutes). Lovely stay at a lovely hotel.

The bathroom door would not close. The shower/tub had no curtain and just a hose. This could have worked if the hose did not have multiple leaks which made it spray water all over the bathroom.

Location very good for our short stay in Rome; sightseeing and Ryder Cup Golf. Within 10 minute walk to main train station and metro if required, (needed for the golf). Friendly restaurants on doorstep.
The towels could have been better and a lightbulb needed changing in the room. Otherwise comfortable base.

Bathroom had tub with holdable shower head, very difficult to shower with no curtain or barrier- entire bathroom got wet including toilet paper roll. Bed was okay, not uncomfortable, not comfortable. Only 3 pillows in the room. Could have complained about these things, but only thete a couple of days waiting ti go hkme, so didnt bother. Overall not a luxury hotel and not horrible, a good solid place to stay fir the price.

This is a great mid range hotel, great location to everything.
Not much to look at outside but the inside is well maintained. But, the beds and pillows are horrible. It seems so much attention is paid to how everything looks, when what the average person will always insist on when traveling is a good nights sleep. Which, of course, needs a good bed and pillows. Neither the beds or pillows even come close to acceptable.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is opposite a mini market and shop which is handy for getting essentials for a good price. The hotel room itself was quite small. I could not fit on the toilet without my back hitting into the sink (not fat). The bath has a shower head on it but have to hold it in one hand and wash with the other due to how low it is situated. The bidet is so close to the toilet and bath that I could not stand out of the bath to dry myself in the bathroom. On the bath I had issue changing it from the bath tape to shower as the cap broke twice before working .The air conditioner was really good at this hotel and would come back to a really nice cool temperature. With the amenities you get a shower cap and bar of soap. It would be better if shower gel would be included. The room was clean and kept tidy.

For the price of the hotel in rome it is good with its location, but lacks quality.

Maybe one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in

The breakfast was decent - that's about where the good stopped. The thermostat was backwards, so we spent a night baking. There wasn't enough water pressure to keep the showerhead going, so taking a bath was pretty much our only option - the trouble with that was that there wasn't enough hot water to even get close to filling a tub. Stay somewhere else - anywhere else.

We were supposed to stay at the Regio, but a day or two before our arrival, we were transferred to Hotel Archimedes, one of the companies hotel. We were two short blocks away from the Termini, the main train station in Rome. The rooms were spacious, clean, with free free wifi. The breakfast was ample and delicious. We could walk down to the Roman Forum and Coliseum, or anywhere where a bus or metro went. Buy the tickets at a tabbaci stand. You can't buy them in the bus anymore due to Covid. This hotel was fantastic, so where the receptionists.

Overall, a good stay. However there are few small things i missed:
1. The floor is tiled. During winter it is rather cold.
2. There is no curtain in the hot tub. You are having shower and flooding the half of the room.
3. Blankets and pillows: very basic. I would not mind to have a better blanket plus an additional pillow (there are only 3).
4. Breakfast: no eggs. I know for somebody it looks like a silly complaint, but i can't just eat pies and cookies for breakfast.

There are really small things, but all together makes me think next time whether i should try a next-door hotel.
It looks like.

The property is located so easy access to all sites in Rome, is a 10 minute stroll to the Train Terminal where you can go where you want.If you go to the Colloseum get a fast track ticket 12 euros it will save you time queuing buy from the booths under the white gazebos.

We liked the fact that we had a bath in our bathroom. When you have walked all over Rome it’s nice to have a soak.
Hotel was very good, helpful staff, good central location neat the Termini Railway Station.
The only downside was that the bed was extremely hard & uncomfortable.

Very pleasant Hotel

My trip to Rome was excellent. Even the flights there and back with Ryanair was excellent and no delay occurred. The Hotel itself was situated in an excellent location, a few minutes walk from \"Termini\" (Rome central station and Metro (underground - very easy to use as there are only 2 lines). The entrance of the hotel was stunning, lots of marble and two amazing Lions sculptures to welcome the guests. The room I had was very clean (including the bathroom), the staff were sooooo helpful and very nice. Anna Maria, one of the receptionist was always ready to help you with any queries or any problems. All in all my stay in Rome was made easy by the helpful staff and the roman people I met on the way to sight seeing. I would advice to any to try and say a few words in Italian to facilitate the communication with the people of Rome. Catherine

We travelled there by train from the airport (30 mins) and were a short 5 min walk to the hotel. On arrival, we were given a map and the receptionist gave us some excellent recommendations on her favourite restaurants, places to visit etc. The gelato place around the corner was lovely and very popular! We liked our meal at the restaurant called La Famiglia (8 euros for a litre of wine!). Also some good bars within a few minutes walk (Good Fellas, Julius Caesar). We stayed for 4 nights and every day our towels and amenities were replenished. The buffet breakfast was nice (a selection of meats, cheeses, rolls, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, pastries etc. as well as a coffee machine). We had an early morning flight so on checkout, we received a breakfast to take with us on the journey home which was also much appreciated. Overall a great stay and perfect if you want to be close to the main sights (the Colosseum is only a 15 min walk away).

The shower tub does not have a shower curtain or door to prevent water spills to outside the tub. Becase the shower head is mounted real low by the tub and by using the shower head to take a shower, water will spills outside the tub by standing up. It was difficult if you use to taking a shower standing up. The shower tub is made for someone to soak inside the tub. The outside bed cover was a bit dirty like it has not been changes to a clean one.

The wife and I had a lovely 4-night stay at Hotel Regio, which is in a great location regarding sightseeing, nearby restaurants, etc. The staff are excellent and very helpful, the rooms are very clean (cleaned every day) and tidy, which includes a fridge and TV. That said, it did seem a little odd to have to sit in the bath to have a shower (no shower curtain), but we did know about this prior to our booking, Maybe a bit of variety wouldn't go amiss regarding the continental breakfast, plenty there but exactly the same everyday!!! The wifi signal is somewhat weak and we had to resort to using our roaming data most the time. Generaly though our experience of Rome and of this hotel was nothing but a positive one, we would have no issues in using this hotel again, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Didn't like that at all, I don't know her name but she was working sunday afternoon march 11, so please let her know to be more polite with the people. I just opened the door. (The door from the reception is a bit far) stopped attending a customer and asked me for my room number with an angry face, she never waited til I was close and said hi how are you may I have your room number please.. But the other staff was great. Just for her I gave you 4. I would definately recommend your hotel. It was very nice staying there

Good hotel for short stay in Rome and is near the bus and metro stations. The room is pretty small, but this wasn't a problem since I was mostly out in the city or sleeping.

Room was way too small and bathroom was horrible

Taking a shower was a struggle. There is no shower door at all, water all over the floor. I wanted to enjoy my bath every night after a long day outside but I never did. Go find a better hotel for your money.

Nice Hotel near the Rome Termini

Access around town is easy. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful especially Mr Ricado who has provided helpful info/tips for going around Rome.

Hotel a little bit noisy. No standing shower. Don't mind to be back there.

Stress free Rome with Hotel Regio

Reception staff absolutely brilliant - couldn’t do enough for me. I had to leave before breakfast on the last day and they prepared a bag of food for me!

Comfortable hotel central to Rome.

The Regio is clean and comfortable and we found our room quiet even though we were overlooking the street. Sheets and towels changed very frequently.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and we were very glad they spoke good English. We booked our tours at the hotel and there were no problems. Thank you to everyone.

Great location from train station

Hotel was in a great location, very close to the station (about 5 minutes walk) and lots of nice restaurants on the same street so didn't have to go searching for food. Rooms are of a good size, clean, slightly basic but all you need for a city break in a 3* hotel. Breakfast was ok, lots of choice.

Stayed here post-cruise. It is on Via Marsala and Via Volturno on the main drag right by Termini Station. It is an 8 minute walk from hotel door to the main entrance of Termini so the location is a great base if you’re touring Rome on a budget. Check in was a breeze. I prepaid on Orbitz (under £80 per night per room) but at check in they also charge £4 per person tourism tax. There are a lot of souvenir shops, restaurants, gelaterias, convenience stores around it. Room is clean but if you’re not used to European bathrooms, you’ll find it weird to have 2 toilets facing each other and a bath tub without a shower curtain.

Ask for a room away from the Main Street as it gets very noisy. We left early the following morning so we didn’t get to partake of the breakfast included. Breakfast buffet starts at 7am. There is a safe inside the room as well as fridge and tv (but no English channels)

WiFi is fast although you have to log in every time you come into the hotel premises.

The family owned Italian restaurant in front of the hotel - Refugio Romano- is great and reasonably priced.

All in all we enjoyed our overnight stay here and will most likely stay here again on a future trip.
