Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is delicious and diverse, hotel location is convenient, and bed is comfortable. The only negative is the air conditioning being automatically set to very hot whenever you leave the room, and you cannot turn it off. This means that you always arrive to something like an oven and have to open the windows. Uncomfortable and a waste of energy. In general this hotel is good value for the money, but be prepared for the heat!

Shower and safe were broken. Found a condom wrapper in the room that cleaning missed. Staff were helpful in repairing the shower however the safe could not be fixed for our stay which was very inconvenient.

The hotel is situated down a side street about 10 minutes walk from the central station, which was very convenient for us..There was a supermarket about 5 mins walk away, and a few eating places within easy walking distance. The young lady on reception was friendly on our arrival, and directed us to our room via an ancient lift which looked like something from the 1920's . To the left is a large sitting room with worn sofa's and chairs circa 1970.
Our room was dingy and small, overlooking the service area of the hotel. The decor was very dark.We needed the lights on all the time. However, it was spotlessly clean apart from a bit of wear on the carpet, and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom looked as though it had been newly refurbished and again, was spotlessly clean. The layout was awkward, and anyone who is \"well padded\" might find it difficult to get in the rather small shower.
There is a bar downstairs which we didn't use, so I can't comment on that.
Breakfast was ok, plenty of food available and a choice. It was very busy and they didn't appear to have enough staff. One poor lady trying to clear tables and keep everything stocked.
Overall the hotel was ok, the staff we met were helpful and friendly it was clean and comfy, just a bit dated.

We checked out 3:30 AM & was handed a ready to go breakfast. Hotel location is walking distance to Termini, good for those who’s going to take train going to Rome airport FCO.
To sum it all, it’s a good place to stay.

We booked based on the recommendation of friends who have stayed at the property multiple times over the years. What a disappointment. They happened to be visiting at the same time and were so apologetic. There has been a change in management and staff and it really shows. We found a pair of socks under the bed, the blanket stunk like they hadn't been washed in decades and rude hostile and indifferent is the order of the day when it comes to staff interactions.. The location is great BUT there are no shortage of 2 star basic budget hotels near Roma Termini, book elsewhere.

The hotel is ideally located close to the main train station and within walking distance of the main attractions. There are numerous restaurants close by.
The check in process was smooth, the only disappointment was that I had booked two rooms but we were placed on different floors. The room was a good size, the tv did not work properly and one plug socket did not work but these were not huge issues for us and I imagine if we had reported them they would have been investigated. The bathroom was great, loved the shower!
The biggest bonus was the breakfast (which was included). There was a big selection (toast, pancakes, cereal, some hot meat & eggs and more plus hot and cold drinks). I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again.

Good for a short stay!

We stayed two nights at Andreotti. Its a very convenient hotel in terms of location, close walk to Termini and 3 min to piazza dell indipendenza from where we took buses to go around the city. The area felt safe and staff was very helpful in booking us a cab for the airport though we were charged 10€ more (driver said it was easter tax) the breakfast buffet had ample options for everyone

Great location and comfortable room

I stayed here at the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area (where his family stays when visiting). Lovely hotel - charming (has one of the old fashioned gated elevators). Room felt spacious (save shower which was fairly tight though I’m a person of size - can’t imagine my brother fitting in the shower comfortably). Thank goodness for working AC as Rome in August is brutally hot. Front desk staff Antonio checked me in and was fantastic. Helped me get the AC working - provided recommendations on things to do and astutely alerted me the A line on the metro was down (the line to take to the Vatican). Loved that the hotel was only a 5-8 minute walk from Termini station and there were several good restaurants and a convenience store all within a few blocks walk of the hotel. There’s complimentary breakfast in the mornings that was quite substantial in offerings and delicious. I’d certainly stay here again if I’m fortunate enough to visit Rome again. I’d be remiss not to mention the number of homeless people in the area. Never felt unsafe however I found I needed to be more alert than usual as they would sometimes lie in unexpected ways/places (like legs extended out into walking path) and nearly stumbled over a person who was lying not far from the hotel entrance.

I have previously stayed at this hotel and was very pleased with my stay. Unfortunately this was not the case this time. We had requested a twin room because I was travelling with my 12 year old grandson, we were given a double room and told it would be sorted, it was not. This was very inconvenient. It was a very small room with hardly enough room to walk round the bed. One chair and no kettle. The facilities last time were much better and certainly a better quality room. Very disappointing. The hotel was clean and the breakfast excellent but I will not want to stay there again

Very disappointing experience. Not one single word written in English, not one single international TV channel in all rooms. The shower has no curtain which means every time someone takes a shower, the floor turns into a small pool of water, becomes slippery and the chances are people have more chance to get hurt.
Don’t even try their breakfast, they charge €12 per person, and it’s tasteless.
Just wondering how this hotel got 4 stars?
I will never go back there again.

Major concern is cleanliness of the room. We’ve asked to change our room as toilet was terrible dirty with urine on the seat! Overall the room and bathroom was very dusty and dirty. We were checking in around midnight and didn’t have much choice. Otherwise we would leave to find a different hotel. The room was pretty cheap so you get what you pay for. Never again!

The staff was very kind but the hotel is in terrible conditions the carpet was sticky and old the paper walls were dirty the bathdroom smelled terrible and the comforter of the bed was old also the room had a terrible smell they need to invest in the property a bit I mean I had trouble sleeping because of the room conditions.

Avoid this hotel if you can !!

Plus point is the location, close to Termini Station.
Rooms are terrible, at least the one we had. Staff members were indifferent to our request for a change in room. The room and showers were the tiniest we have ever seen. Air conditioning was terrible and the room did not cool down. Due to the poor attitude of staff we were hesitant to ask again for a change in room. Will never stay there again. If one is paying for a room in a hotel why not get some value for your money and stay comfortably.

Nice stay in a modern but with antique flair Hotel

Location was good too as it is just a five-minute walk from the massive Rome railway station (only make sure you take the RIGHT exit). I would not hesitate to book this hotel again when in Rome as everything from check in to check out went so smooth and had very good restful nights in a small but comfortable room with all the modern amenities (Good AirCon with climate control, in-room safe, Cable TV (ample international channels) and good WIFI. As many pointed out, bathroom is decent size (with a bidet) but the shower is surprisingly narrow (why?). Elevator is simply awesome (a museum piece of its own).

Room was very small, carpet had a large stain and shower very small. The room did not look at all like the picture on the booking site. It is way too small for 2 people - only room for 1 chair and little room for luggage. We asked for a different room even if we had to pay more, but to no avail. Would not stay here again. May be OK if only for 1 person.

The staff is so friendly and amicable. Check in and out was smooth. Room service is great. At check out, the lady ran after me to give me back my watch which I had forgotten in the room. Beside the hotel, there are grocery stores and cafes and it is a 5 min from Termini station which is very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable and fairly spacious in European standards.

An average 3 star hotel located very conveniently close to termini station and public transportation. For those who do not mind exploring Rome on foot it is possible to get to the main touristic attractions within half an hour.
overall the room was clean but there was persistent unpleasant smell in the room and bathroom - may be a smell of 'oldness' - carpet and wall dressing did not look very fresh.

Reasonable price hotel near Roma Termini

Stayed one night and two nights after coming back from Sorrento. Only on the first night, our beds seem to have bed bugs. Before we come to Rome, we sent email to confirm that we can leave our big luggauges in the hotel. The hotel is kind to keep our lugguages after coming back from Sorrento as promised. The breakfast is good with many choices. The hotel manager was also kind to help us to order a private car to airport with the cost of 50Euro.

Very nice hotel with a convenient location in Rome

I stayed at the Hotel Andreotti from Saturday, April 23, through Thursday April 27. It is a very nice hotel, convenient to the Rome Termini train station. It was a less than 10 minute walk from Termini to the Hotel. Although the room was a little small, the lobby, sitting area downstairs, and interior of the hotel are all fine. The price was a nice bargain, I do not feel like I overpaid. I like to walk a lot - it was to me, 'only' a 30 minute walk to major tourist sites like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. It was an hour walk to the Vatican, through some very nice Roman streets. The hotel is fine, with a wonderful old fashioned elevator. A word of caution - I only took the Rome subway once - from Termini to the Vatican area, and the subway was VERY overcrowded, for a ride at about 9 a.m. If you have a fear of claustrophobia, do not ride the Rome subway in the morning on a week day!!! Overall, a very nice stay at a good hotel in the central / eastern part of Rome, but I do enjoy walking. The breakfast in the hotel was also very good.

Nice close stay to Termini Station

The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay feel welcoming. We were barely in our room as we were mostly sightseeing, so we needed the hotel for a good nights sleep when we got back, which we did. The room is a little bit small but this was not an issue for our short break. The only issue we had was when we came for breakfast at 10:15 (closes at 10:30 but reception said it was fine for us to eat) and a staff from the breakfast area told us bluntly \"tomorrow come earlier\". Although this was understandable (even though we had had only 3hrs sleep the night before so needed a lie in!) the staff could have said this a lot more polite. Everyone else in the hotel were extremely friendly though and I'd still recommend this hotel.

Robbed While at Dinner

The room was very dark but what was worse is that we were robbed.

Until we were robbed, the staff was great.

While we were at dinner, someone went through our suitcases and stole our Kindles--not what you want to lose at the beginning of vacation! The breakfast was lovely but hardly compensated for losing all our books.

At first, the staff was kind and helpful. They assured us that they had insurance for such losses. They would even go with us to the police station to file our report (in Rome, apparently, the police do not come to the scene). The manager on duty said that he would go with us to the station the next day.

Sadly, no one came to the station with us. The manager who said he would help us sent a message he would be late but he didn't come in. No one at Hotel Andreotti helped us with translating--filling out a police report is a little more complex than asking where the bathroom is. How convenient for them because without a police report, like in the USA, their insurance won't pay the claim.

When we returned to the hotel, since the police kept brushing us off, Hotel Andreotti told us they wouldn't help us file a report about thefts on their property from our locked room. They took no responsibility for helping us and even admitted that the thief could have been someone who worked there!

We would never risk returning to Hotel Andreotti. It was a lovely breakfast but we have too bad a taste from being robbed.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights from 5th October and overall for a three star hotel we liked it. We had a standard double room and it was more than adequate. We noted some of the concerns mentioned on reviews and made sure to take note when we arrived. The room was a decent size and the decor was blue and yellow as in one of the pictures. The room did not smell, bedding and towels were immaculate. Yes, the shower was a bit small but it worked and the water was hot. The room had a kettle and a fridge which we thought was good for a three star hotel. We have stayed in four star hotels which had no tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge was only available to hire. There were no tea bags/coffee/milk with the kettle (but we always take our own because we know what hotels provide are never the same) but we are sure the hotel would have provided them. The bar staff were more than happy to provide a jug of milk for us which went in to the fridge. Reception were very helpful. Breakfast was not brilliant but we didn't starve and we were not there for the food alone. If perfection is what you are looking for in all areas on a short break then you choose your hotel accordingly. For us it was absolutely fine. Would we stay there again for a short break? Yes we would.

Hotel Andreotti - May 2015

We selected this hotel because it was an easy walk from Termini station. The complementary breakfast was excellent. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a nicely furnished sitting room with an adjacent bar. It is a great place to unwind with a glass of wine in the evening. The room was quiet and large enough for two travelers packing lightly. The only difficulty was the arrangement of the shower. It was apparently added after the bathroom was built and the tub did not have an adequate splash guard to contain the shower spray. The Termini station area has a somewhat poor reputation after dark, but we encountered no problems.

The Hotel Andreotti is within easy walking distance of Rome's main Termini rail/bus station. The hotel itself is comfortable and at a reasonable price. The real asset, however, is its staff, who are friendly, well-informed and helpful. A very pleasant stay in a hotel we would recommend to others.

The hotel is located about 5 minute walk from Roma Termini. There are lots of hotels around the area. You need to mark your map carefully. The room was small but all the things were fine. We didn't have breakfast there but we could find cheap pizza fast food across the road. There is not much shops or stores nearby, so you may need to go back to Roma Termini or take metro at Castro Pretorio.

i had stayed here many years ago but was pleased to see the hotel was well maintained, bfast was a wide assortment but still with the coffee machine. very old lift could fit one person with luggage at a time later check out was a plus. easy walk to the train station............... this was a one day stop on a 60 day trip....to pick up left luggage and have my laundry done while i did some quick site seeing. as always the solo rooms are SMALL but the bed was larger than a twin............the bath was very cramped but had all the amenities needed. only problem was ONE outlet to charge computer, phone and camera.....very difficult NOW will Hotels.com resolve the horrible hotel experience in florence at the REX? i need a refund.

The hotel is about 10min walking from Termini station, which was very nice. The first day we arrived, our heater was broken, and it was in December and freezing; so the staff tried to \"fix\" the heater a few times and did not succeed. I suggested to change the room and they completely disregarded me. Not until my husband threat the hotel staff that we were going to leave, that they gave us another room with heater that works. It was not a good start, however, the rest of our stay was fine. The staff was somewhat nice and helpful. The room is very small, but it's clean. The wi-fi does not work in our room and in the main area.

Almost Acceptable, but Try Elsewhere

One of the classic older hotels in the area around Rome's Termini (main) train station. This one is about 5 blocks from the station (see location comments) and initially struck us as very comfortable and elegant. Furnishings were first rate, and it had the atmosphere of one of the \"grand old hotels\" without the price.

However some of the details disappointed or were downright annoying, and the end result was we felt that another hotel will be a better choice for our next trip to Rome.

The biggest problem was the odd arrangement of electric power switches in the room. Yes, the single power on/off control activated by our room key was there -- but that is common and easily handled. But in this case most of the room lights could ONLY be turned on and off by removing the room key from that switch. OK, but then we couldn't turn on the bathroom light during the night, and we couldn't charge our cell phones or computers since all the wall outlets were off too. So, we wound up trying to sleep with all the lights on... with some turned off by unscrewing the bulbs.

Also on the down side were obvious maintenance issues with things like missing or loose cabinet pulls, chipped plaster in the bathroom and broken towel hooks. The bath itself was just OK... the typical European tiny shower was at least equipped with a modern shower head that could be positioned above the heads of tall Americans.

The hotel was in a very central location, easy access to all major sights (we used a hop on, hop off bus to get around which was within easy walking distance of the hotel). Hotel staff were helpful and courteous.

We paid for our hotel in advance via Hotels.com however when we checked out were told that the hotel hadn't been paid for and that we had to pay. I disputed this and provided my booking receipt however the clerk had to call someone to confirm we did pay before we could leave. This added inconvenience and frustration to an otherwise good hotel stay.

Quarto completinho, café da manhã maravilhoso, localização ok, hotel em si bem bacana. A única ressalva é que o quarto tinha cheiro de mofo (hotel antigo) e nos deu alergia por isso, rinite alérgica forte, causada por mofo, ácaro, poeira etc.

Wir hatten während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts ganze vier Tage lang kein warmes Wasser – und das im Januar bei dauerhaftem Regen und kalten Temperaturen. Besonders ärgerlich: Das Problem bestand bereits mehrere Tage vor unserer Anreise, dennoch wurden wir vorab in keiner Weise darüber informiert.

Das Personal an der Rezeption konnte keine Lösung anbieten, hat sich nicht einmal entschuldigt und wirkte insgesamt desinteressiert und überfordert. Man hatte den Eindruck, dass das Problem nicht ernst genommen wurde.

Bis heute haben wir weder eine Rückerstattung noch irgendeine Rückmeldung erhalten, trotz mehrfacher Versuche, Kontakt aufzunehmen. Die angegebenen Telefonnummern scheinen nicht zu existieren, und sowohl per E-Mail als auch über das Kontaktformular auf der Hotelwebsite haben wir keinerlei Antwort bekommen – wir haben wirklich alles versucht.

Das Frühstück hat uns nicht geschmeckt, zudem war der Boden im Frühstücksraum klebrig, was sehr unangenehm war. Insgesamt wirkt das Hotel stark veraltet und dringend renovierungsbedürftig.

In diesem Zustand sollte das Hotel unserer Meinung nach nicht betrieben werden. Wir können dieses Hotel leider in keiner Weise weiterempfehlen.

Porém um problema no aquecimento da agua deixou todo o hotel sem água quente e a temperatura em Roma nesses dias estava em media de 5 graus. Resultado : Banho frio no inverno na Italia

Läget var det som utmärkte detta hotell. För övrigt var rummen små och med en icke fungerande AC som sprutade ut 25 gradig luft. En bastu att sova i.
Väggarna hade mörka fläckar av oklar härkomst. Frukostrummet var trångt och utbudet ok. Personalens handhygien var urdålig. Ta bort smutsig disk, torka av borden med trasa och direkt gå till brödet och ta på detta med samma handskar hela frukosten. Ohygieniskt!
Generellt väldigt slitet. Stenhårda platta kuddar eller kuddar som inte hängde ihop. Som att lägga sig på en planka-så hård var sängen. Duschen trasig där duschslangen var trasig och vattnet rann ur innan handtaget. Minimal duschkabin ca 80x80 cm. Hela golvet blött pga att duschkabinens dörrar läckte.
Tv på rummet men ur funktion. Litet kylskåp på rummen men ur funktion.

Замечательный отель в центре Рима! До достопримечательностей - рукой подать, везде ходили пешком. Интерьер потрясающий! Отзывчивый персонал, всегда помогали. В номере не было чайника - попросила, все принесли, по вечерам приносили в номер конфетки) Завтрак отличный! Есть и фрукты, и овощи, и суп, горячее 4 вида, выпечка, кофе, чай. Рядом продуктовый магазин Conad, чудесный ресторанчик al39 и джелатерия la romana (советуем!)
